Matt and Laci take a long look at the 1998 horror-comedy film Bride of Chucky.    The Child's Play franchise stands out among the classic horror movie series because it has, from the beginning, largely been stewarded by one man: screenwriter Don Mancini. The show goes through Mancini's inspiration for writing the original 1988 film as a critique on the advertising industry, and the diminishing returns of the two sequels that caused the franchise to go dormant for most of the '90s. Then, the success of Scream led to a revitalization of horror, so Chucky was brought back from the dead, and this time, he'd have a manic gothic dream girl in the form of Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). The history segment closes with a look at Jennifer Tilly's legacy, and how she had no idea how much playing Tiffany would define her career, or how much love people had for her character and the Chucky franchise. Peeling back and looking down at pocket aces in a high stakes cash game is the dream of every poker player! After squeezing it preflop and getting two callers, Tilly decides to slowplay her hand. It seems to work out perfectly as Pink shoves the turn with just a straight draw. But will Tilly think Pink's all in for a huge amount is an extremely strong hand and make a terrible hero fold or will she win a huge pot and help answer the question: Why did Jennifer Tilly tip $200? When playing poker cash games or tournaments, it is important to protect your check-calling range. This means that when you check and call a bet, you should not only have medium-strength hands or draws. You should also include some very strong hands into your check-calling range, along with a few floats that you plan to turn into bluffs on certain runouts. By protecting your check-calling range, your opponents are left uncertain about the strength of your hand. As a result, it becomes much harder for them to exploit you by double barreling and forcing you to fold medium-strength hands when they assume you only check-raise with strong hands and check-call with weak ones.
