#thewheeloftime Lan bonds with Rand during sword training, while Moiraine and Egwene learn a surprising piece of information from the Wise Ones. The truth of Aviendha's search for the Car'a'carn is revealed. Rand learns a little history about the Clan Chiefs and the trials of Rhuidean. After being challenged by the Shaido, Rand and Moiraine both enter the City of Rhuidian. As Rand's trial show him the paths of his ancestors, Moiraine's trial shows her countless possibilities of the future - all with various deadly outcomes. The truth of the history of the Aiel is learned. Moiraine finds a powerful object. Rand is marked by his trial. #thewheeloftime Rand goes before the Amyrlin Seat, who disagrees with Moiraine about how to handle the Dragon Reborn. House Damodred is rocked by a huge betrayal. Egwene makes a show of her power as a Damane, but has a warning for Renna. Aviendha reunites with allies as she and Perrin head towards Falme. Mat finds himself in an unexpected place. Nynaeve and Elayne have a plan to get to the Kennels. Lan figures out how to help Moiraine. Moiraine loses a trusted ally.

Well...THAT escalated quickly. From that brutal opening inauguration, to meeting the Andoran royal family, to Perrin's unwelcoming homecoming, to Egwene finding out she may NOT want her dreams to come true, Veronica and Greg break down this middle opening episode. #thewheeloftime The Seanchan return to their home across the sea, but receive a chilly reception upon their arrival. Rand seeks answers while he and Moraine flee for their lives. Perrin unwillingly returns to Atuan's Mill, where he evades an old enemy, while making a new ally. Verin returns to the White Tower to seek answers, and is disturbed by the discrepancies she finds. Liandrin confesses her sins to Nynaeve. Moraine receives some much needed advise from a sympathetic ear. Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne find themselves in a dire situation. All roads lead to Falme.

Episode 2 continues with the shockers; Jenn feels like this is a much darker Morgase, everyone gets to be an Accepted, who needs Tear when you can have the Waste and Two Rivers already, and both Jenn and Preeti are SO EXCITED for Egwene to meet Bair. She then transports herself and Rand into the city, where Rand confronts and kills Turak and his men. This causes Ishamael to learn of Rand's presence and realize that Lanfear has betrayed him. Ishamael orders Padan Fain to deliver the dagger from Shadar Logoth to Mat, in an attempt to kill Rand. However, Mat refuses to take the dagger and escapes. The Whitecloaks, led by Dain and his father Geofram, attack Falme in an attempt to eradicate the Seanchan. During the chaos, Ingtar, Loial, and Masema escape with the Horn of Valere and join the battle alongside Mat, Perrin, and the Aiel. Ingtar is killed in the process. Egwene manages to break free from her a'dam and kill Renna. Mat is forced to blow the Horn, summoning the Heroes of the Horn and turning the tide of the battle. At the same time, Perrin kills Geofram out of rage due to him killing Hopper. Rand, Egwene, Nynaeve, Perrin, and Mat reunite and are confronted by Ishamael. Ishamael has Rand shielded from the One Power and tricks Mat into wounding Rand. While Egwene and Perrin fight Ishamael, Moiraine frees Rand from the shield, allowing him to slay Ishamael. Rand is then proclaimed the Dragon Reborn before the whole city. After the battle, Moghedien confronts Lanfear and informs her that all the Forsaken have been released.

If you've seen The Wheel of Time and Fallout, there's a good chance we had a similar viewing experience. The entire Wheel of Time ensemble is fantastic, but Season 2, which dropped on Prime Video from September 1 to October 6, brought in a new standout character, Renna, the Seanchan sul'dam responsible for making it an especially dark season for Madeleine Madden's Egwene. As terrible as Renna is, you can't take your eyes off her, and the credit for that goes to the actor in the role — Hollywood newcomer Xelia Mendes-Jones.Cut to April 2024. Fallout hits Prime Video and becomes an instant sensation. The majority of the season puts the spotlight on Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten, all of whom give powerhouse performances. With only eight episodes, a bunch of curious locations, a number of key factions to establish, and quite a few complex agendas unfolding, how does an actor with minimal screen time in just two episodes manage to make an impression?
