Gerry Dulac doesn't think it matter deciding between Sanders and Jaxson Dart and doesn't think the Steelers will select a quarterback. We still think George Pickens could be traded this week. Is this a smoke screen similar to when Gerry's sources said the Steelers wouldn't pick Kenny Pickett?
Hour 2 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: Jay thinks the Penguins need to find a top-six forward and find guys who can gel together in the bottom six. Jay thinks the Penguins need to see someone different in net. Longtime Steelers insider Gerry Dulac is adamant the Steelers won't take Shedeur Sanders. Gerry's sources said there was a 0% chance the Steelers pick Kenny Pickett... could this be similar?
The local and national members of the media are in a battle. One side says Shedeur Sanders will be the pick while the other thinks it's a smokescreen. Which side do you come down on? The guys pointed out how we have seen this over the years from Mike Tomlin leading up to the selection meeting. We took a trip through the Gerry Dulac chat with some interesting draft related questions and answers. Sean Keller from the Denver Post joined the show. Sean joined to talk about Shedeur Sanders and why his draft stock is all over the place. Sean said the bad mechanics and his family are reasons why he is sliding a bit. Sean said there are teams that don't want all of the baggage that comes along with Sanders, like the Giants. The guys asked Sean where Sanders ranks among guys the Steelers currently have, which isn't saying much. Sean said the good with Sanders does outweigh the bad, but said the bad can get you beat. Sean said he doesn't know a single Colorado player that doesn't like Shedeur, showing that he goes over well with his teammates. He talked about making Colorado better and work with multiple OCs. Sean thinks Pittsburgh would be a good fit, but he definitely needs help.

Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac & Ray Fittipaldo react to the news conference held by GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday ahead of the NFL draft. What did the two have to say about the pursuit of Aaron Rodgers? And when might be the deadline for the star QB to sign? Was the praise Tomlin had for Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders a legit expression of interest? Or a smokescreen to throw other teams off the scent of what the Steelers may do? And which defensive linemen might they prefer between top options including Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon and Walter Nolen? Our duo tackles those questions and more.
April 21, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 122 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing a few notable things said and written by Adam Schefter of ESPN and Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette with draft week now officially here. When it comes to Schefter, we discuss him throwing out Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens as one of 13 players still on rookie contracts that could potentially be traded before the 2025 NFL Draft ends. Alex and I discuss the plausibility and probability of Pickens ultimately being traded and what it would likely need to look like for both sides as far as compensation and potential contract negotiation obstacles go. There are quite a few hypotheticals thrown around in this discussion. Schefter also threw out the idea that the Steelers could trade down in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, so Alex and I look at the plausibility, probability and hypotheticals associated with the Steelers potentially doing that. As for Dulac, he has essentially indicated that the Steelers would only draft a position such as quarterback in the first round if a defensive lineman they desire is no longer on the board. Alex and I push back a little bit on that notion. We also address Dulac's recent thoughts on a new contract for OLB T.J. Watt this summer and push back on a few things associated with what he said on that matter as well. Will Oregon DL Derrick Harmon be off the board by the 21st overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft? Could the Cincinnati Bengals be in serious contention to select Harmon at 17th overall? Would the Bengals pick Harmon over Mississippi DT Walter Nolen? Also, could weight control at all be considered a concern when it comes to Harmon? We address all of these questions during the Monday show. Could North Dakota State QB Cam Miller factor into the Steelers' draft plans this year? We discuss the recent news associated with Miller and the Steelers. I also inform Alex how I have warmed up quite a bit on Ohia State QB Will Howard after watching more of his tape over the weekend. Alex and I discuss the possibility of only four or five running backs being selected before the 83rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. How many teams are likely to select a running back before the Steelers 83rd overall selection with this year's draft class being so deep at the position? Is there any chance at all the Steelers will select a tight end or offensive lineman in the 2025 NFL Draft? Alex and I tackle those two position groups later in this show. This 97-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap as well. We end this show by answering a few emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

About a week away from the NFL Draft we are still wondering what the future looks like for George Pickens. Would he net them a 2nd round pick in return to get the Steelers back into that round? Gerry Dulac doesn't think the team will trade the troubled WR next weekend – in fact, he said it with certainty. The guys went through some of the antics Pickens took part in late last season. Should the Steelers be patient about the offense with Pickens and DK Metcalf as their top 2 threats? Is there a way for both guys to get theirs in this offense? Is it naive for the Steelers to think it will work? If the Steelers are going with the all-in approach with Aaron Rodgers, should they keep their WR corps at full strength?

Is it naive for the Steelers to think it will work? If the Steelers are going with the all-in approach with Aaron Rodgers, should they keep their WR corps at full strength? Do fans think the Steelers have a clue on offensive approach? Caller took shot at legendary Pittsburgh weatherman. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike said we are all stuck waiting on Aaron Rodgers and there's no new development. Mike said the situation in New Orleans with Derek Carr is interesting to note. Mike reminded us that the Vikings door still isn't fully closed on Rodgers. Mike questioned if the Steelers would say NO to Rodgers at any point this offseason, even if it's training camp. Mike doesn't think it's impossible to have Shedeur Sanders at the same time as Rodgers, but referenced the coin flip it is to draft a QB in their draft slot. Mike thinks after the Saints, the Seahawks may be the only team that has interest in Sanders. Mike does not see Mason Rudolph going into the season as the starter if the goal is to win a playoff game or more. The guys asked Mike if the TJ Watt Instagram post means anything significant and if it means more than his contract price. Mike talked about long ago when the Steelers used to have a revolving door at edge rusher, but it kept working. Mike said the trade market for Watt depends on how the 1st round goes for needy teams.

Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise reacts to the day in Pittsburgh sports news live around 5 p.m. Eastern. How closely should GM Omar Khan, coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers consider drafting a RB in the first round to replace Najee Harris alongside Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell? Are names like Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton and Kaleb Johnson worth forgoing other positions of need to select? Do they need a defensive lineman like Derrick Harmon, Walter Nolen or Kenneth Grant more? And what should we make of colleague Gerry Dulac's reporting that RB could be an option in "any" round? Paul tackles those questions as well as the Pirates' series finale with the Tampa Bay Rays. Was Paul Skenes able to steady the ship after a 1-5 start to the season? And how hostile will fans be toward owner Bob Nutting, GM Ben Cherington and manager Shelton with the home opener looming Friday?
