Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from the team's practice Tuesday at its South Side facility, where coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly news conference. What did Tomlin have to say about DK Metcalf, who was suspended for two games for his altercation with a fan Sunday in Detroit? What is the team expecting from Metcalf's appeal, which will take place Tuesday evening in front of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell? Is this an opportunity for Roman Wilson, who has been a healthy scratch lately? Will Calvin Austin III be able to play against the Browns? Would Tomlin sit veterans like Aaron Rodgers and Cam Heyward if the Ravens lose to the Packers on Sunday, rendering the Steelers-Browns moot? Why were they so good on third downs in Detroit? And why is Tomlin being more aggressive on fourth downs? Our duo tackles those topics and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo recap the NFL Week 16 victory against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. Is coach Mike Tomlin's team a legit AFC playoff threat after taking down Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs and a desperate Lions team? What was working for OC Arthur Smith's unit, led by QB Aaron Rodgers; RBs Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell; WRs Adam Thielen, Scotty Miller and DK Metcalf; and TE Darnell Washington? And how much praise do Cam Heyward, Derrick Harmon, Jack Sawyer, Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr. and the defense deserve for limiting the Lions' potent offense? Especially in the absence of T.J. Watt? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from the team's practice facility ahead of its NFL Week 16 matchup with the Detroit Lions. Gerry and Ray identified getting pressure on Lions QB Jared Goff as one of the main keys to victory, so how will Jack Sawyer fare, as he's in line to start if T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig can't go due to injury? How would a good pass rush affect the game? Could DeMarvin Leal and Jeremiah Moon get involved? How will Derrick Harmon help the run defense against David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs? Is the secondary finding its footing with Asante Samuel Jr.? And what would a win here tell us about this team? Would it change the narrative heading into the postseason? Our duo tackles those topics and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report on coach Mike Tomlin's weekly news conference that included numerous injury updates ahead of an NFL Week 16 matchup with the Detroit Lions. Could T.J. Watt return from his partially collapsed lung sooner than expected? Are Isaac Seumalo and Derrick Harmon good bets to bounce back as well? And what's the latest on James Pierre after he was replaced by Asante Samuel Jr. on Monday night against the Dolphins? Our duo tackles those questions, then looks ahead to the Lions game; takes stock of the AFC North race with the Ravens; and ponders what comes next for Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and the passing game after a successful night against the Dolphins. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo recap an NFL Week 15 Monday Night Football win against the Miami Dolphins at Acrisure Stadium. Was this the most complete effort of the season from coach Mike Tomlin's team? Why was QB Aaron Rodgers have able to have so much success in the passing game with receivers including DK Metcalf, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Pat Freiermuth? How important has running back Kenneth Gainwell become to the offense with Jaylen Warren battling some nagging injuries? What Cam Heyward, Jalen Ramsey, Alex Highsmith and the defense prove in the absence of T.J. Watt? And what does this win mean for the AFC North race against the Baltimore Ravens? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from Thursday's practice at the team's facility ahead of its NFL Week 15 matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. They start by breaking down the news that star outside linebacker T.J. Watt was in the hospital Thursday while being evaluated for a lung condition. While Watt's availability and status are up in the air, what will the Steelers defense look like if he can't go? Are Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith prepared to step into that role? What about rookie Jack Sawyer? Who can help fill gaps as the Steelers prepare to face De'Von Achane and the strong Dolphins run game? What's with this streak of facing some of the NFL's best rushing attacks? And what is Derrick Harmon's status, as he revealed Thursday he's dealing with the same knee that caused him to miss games early in the season but a different injury? Our duo answers those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Hour 2 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: A trip inside Gerry Dulac's chat. Does Art Rooney II realize how angry people are with the Steelers? The Steelers average 96 opposing yards rushing with Derrick Harmon. Without Harmon, the Steelers allow over 190 yards! The Steelers play Miami Monday. Pirates still looking for offense.
A trip inside Gerry Dulac's chat. Does Art Rooney II realize how angry people are with the Steelers? Gerry speaks to Art frequently and said he's sure that Art hears and understands some. The Steelers average 96 opposing yards rushing with Derrick Harmon. Without Harmon, the Steelers allow over 180 yards!
A big question in the direction of Art Rooney II made its way to the Gerry Dulac chat. The answer gave us another example of the owner leaning back on the organization being better than the mean of the league. Does he hear the fans growing tired? Maybe. But Gerry gave a pretty good guess as to how Art would answer things – telling fans to get off their backs because they are in first place, just in nicer words. Does he make a point? The guys think the team is still stale and the owner should show more emotion more than just simply wanting them to win more than they lose, on average. It sounds like Art would puff his chest out because the Steelers have been in first place since the beginning of the season – which is factually incorrect. The guys pointed out some of the better teams in the league that are better than the Steelers, but they aren't leading their own division. The Fan vs The Fans. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. The conversation started with Christmas cookies before it shifted to the Philip Rivers signing in Indianapolis. The 44-year-old was apparently always the backup plan in Indy if things went south with QB health, which it has after the Daniel Jones season-ending injury. If the Colts still make the playoffs and Rivers plays respectable football, should he win the Comeback Player of the Year award? Mike said there's no way you can go back and act like the chants and boos didn't happen in the game against the Bills. What if things go off the rails against the Dolphins? Mike said if Art Rooney is in some state of delusion, that's not good for anybody. Mike believes you always have to have your finger on the pulse of the fanbase as an owner. The guys asked Mike about the catch rule and determining how the game ended in Baltimore on Sunday. Mike believes that Isaiah Likely play was a touchdown that the league missed and that the offices have gone a little rogue, which only confuses the viewer more. Mike dove into the gambling factor and is surprised Roger Goodell didn't resign once they got into bed with all of the sportsbooks.

Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from Tuesday's practice at the team's facility ahead of its NFL Week 15 matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. What injury updates did coach Mike Tomlin provide? Could rookie DL Derrick Harmon and safety Kyle Dugger return? What effect would that have on the run defense against De'Von Achane and Jaylen Wright? Are DK Metcalf's stomach issues going to affect his availability for Monday night? What about Darnell Washington, Malik Harrison and Andrus Peat, who are all in concussion protocol? How concerned should the Steelers be about the running game led by Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell? Was Aaron Rodgers' big game a sign of things to come? And how much credit does OC Arthur Smith deserve for their aggressiveness against the Ravens? Our duo answers those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo have a practice report from the team's facility ahead of its NFL Week 14 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. What should we make of the Steelers coordinators' comments on Thursday? Does Arthur Smith have the correct level of urgency? Have we reached the point of the season when he should focus on getting his best players on the field — i.e., Pat Freiermuth, Jaylen Warren, DK Metcalf, etc. — rather than focusing on situational football? What role will Adam Thielen play, and what can they even get out of the 35-year-old wide receiver? Is Teryl Austin's run defense ready? Or should we expect another performance like the one we say Sunday vs. Buffalo or in last season's wild card game against the Ravens? Will they be able to stop Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry? How can defensive backs like Joey Porter Jr. help the run defense? And is Yahya Black up to the challenge? Our duo answers those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo react to the team's NFL Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium. Why did T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, Nick Herbig, Keeanu Benton, Alex Highsmith, Payton Wilson and the defensive front seven struggle so mightily to contain James Cook and the Buffalo running game? Will coach Mike Tomlin and DC Teryl Austin have answers before facing the run-heavy Ravens in a crucial AFC North battle next week? What went wrong for QB Aaron Rodgers in his return from injury? Is there still time for him to find chemistry with pass catchers DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth? Or is this offense in trouble? Especially after also failing to generate production with running backs Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell? And what will the defense do amid LB Patrick Queen's injury? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo react to coach Mike Tomlin's weekly news conference ahead of an NFL Week 13 matchup with the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium. How will the offensive and defensive lines cope with their respective losses of Broderick Jones and Derrick Harmon this week, after both were ruled out by Tomlin? Are names like Yahya Black, Spender Anderson and Andrus Peat prepared to step up? What's the latest on Aaron Rodgers? Will he return from his wrist injury? Or could we see more of Mason Rudolph? Will we see more passes across the middle to names like DK Metcalf, Pat Freiermuth and Calvin Austin III? And how can Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr. and the secondary perform better against Bills star QB Josh Allen than they did against Bears QB Caleb Williams? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo recap an NFL Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Does coach Mike Tomlin deserve scrutiny for some of his decisions? Were Mason Rudolph's blunders -- which included a fumble and an interception on a pass to DK Metcalf -- too much for the offense to overcome. Where was the defensive pressure on Bears QB Caleb Williams after a first-quarter strip sack by T.J. Watt that led to a touchdown by Nick Herbig? What is Aaron Rodgers' status amid his wrist injury? And how important is Kenneth Gainwell's big-play ability becoming for this otherwise plodding offense? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
