One month in with Oneil Cruz, Greg commented on the star-like start he has had at the plate. The guys pointed out the plate discipline we've seen from Cruz. Poni was surprised by the amount of people that were thanking Sullivan on his way out. He also noted that Mike Tomlin, once his time finally comes, won't be getting that same praise out the door. Tomlin has more good seasons than Sullivan, but has he overstayed his welcome longer? The guys wondered if it would be a day of celebration when Tomlin is done. The guys wondered if Sullivan has something else lined up with either the Rangers or Bruins. Poni said Sullivan is one of the best coaches in this city in recent years, with the accolades as the best man behind the bench for the Penguins. After 2 Stanley Cups in roughly 10 years of coaching, Sullivan is moving on. Who is the bigger issue with the Penguins – the coach or the GM? It's a discussion we tend to have with the baseball team in town. How much of a commitment was there to the Penguins from the head coach? The guys talked about the differing opinions when it came to the mock drafts leading up to the 21st pick with so many names expecting the Steelers to pick Shedeur Sanders. There was an agreement that ESPN went to pretty embarrassing levels to shill for Sanders last night. The conversation then shifted to the 83rd pick and if Sanders is still there. Mark speculated on the order of importance for the Steelers if Harmon wasn't on the board for them at 21. Mark is still adamant that Aaron Rodgers is a done deal. Mark didn't buy into any of the Kirk Cousins news or rumors that the Steelers had interest. Mark gave quite the interesting QB name to look out for in the draft. More w/ Mark – Mark thinks the Steelers would have moved George Pickens already if he asked for a trade. The guys asked Mark how much of an issue it could be for the Steelers and Pickens if he goes into a lame duck season. Draft Day. We started with George Pickens and the latest around the Steelers receiver who is up to his old tricks on social media as we approach a draft where he is surrounded by trade rumors. Are the Steelers better off moving on from Pickens? If it's a way for the Steelers to recoup an extra pick tomorrow night, the guys think the team should do it. Poni is baffled by the amount of George Pickens supporters out there. PG columnist Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason and the guys recapped the Pirates win against the Angels last night. Jason got into his column about Bob Nutting fixing his baseball team instead of the PR problems. Jason does think there could be a mark close to us in which we see Derek Shelton let go, but the wins from the last two nights certainly helped his matters. Jason talked about the lineup stuff and why Andrew McCutchen is voicing some of his annoyance on social media. Jason said the lineup is so matchup based and the Pirates hunt that stuff at all costs, instead of keeping things consistent.
