Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown joined the show. Poni told Brownie about a run-in he had with Derek Shelton last night. Poni said he would have questioned Shelton as to why he brought Colin Holderman into the game on Saturday in what resulted in a Pirates' loss. One month in with Oneil Cruz, Greg commented on the star-like start he has had at the plate. The guys pointed out the plate discipline we've seen from Cruz. NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports joined the show. Ryan gave the Steelers draft class a B. Ryan liked Derrick Harmon even though he had him graded a little bit lower than where he got picked. Ryan loved some of the late picks, including Will Howard at 185. Ryan gave the Steelers credit to standing firm and going by their board without over-drafting a QB. Ryan doesn't think there is a huge separation between Howard and some of the guys picked early on the second night. Ryan reacted to the slide of Shedeur Sanders, falling all the way down to 144. What did Ryan see from Kaleb Johnson on film and how does he think he can translate his game to the NFL? What did Ryan think of Mel Kiper this weekend? Will Drew Allar be the best QB in the '26 class? Donny Football Debrief – Diontae Johnson has a new home.

Does that perfect the plan set out by Pittsburgh? This past draft was the first one in roughly 30 years that did not see a WPIAL player get selected? Pirates pre-post game host Dan Zangrilli joined the show. After a brief discussion about baseball card collecting, we got into the Buccos. The guys asked why Carmen Mlodzinski doesn't get moved to the bullpen where he is likely a better option. Dan weighed in on the man versus gorilla debate, and which former Pirates could stack up in a fight.

Poni was surprised by the amount of people that were thanking Sullivan on his way out. He also noted that Mike Tomlin, once his time finally comes, won't be getting that same praise out the door. Will Howard is the newest Steelers quarterback after the team drafted him in the 6th round this weekend in the NFL Draft. Did the Steelers make a mistake in not drafting Shedeur Sanders? To no surprise, Mel Kiper gave the Steelers a bad grade because they didn't take Sanders. Poni is already declaring that Howard will have a better career than Sanders, while Chris thinks they are both bound to be career backups. The guys addressed the fall of Sanders during the draft, something pretty much nobody expected. With the Steelers still courting Aaron Rodgers, was it smart for the Steelers to avoid Sanders? Poni isn't ruling out Howard being the Steelers starter at some point and he may get a chance to show them this season. The way it shook out, do you like the draft a little bit more? We got some reaction from people on the Steelers drafting Will Howard in the 6th round. Former Ohio State LB Dustin Fox joined the show. Dustin isn't enough of a homer to predict a Super Bowl in the future of Will Howard. Dustin described Howard as a future starter in the league, citing his size and athleticism. He questioned the Browns taking 2 QBs and neither one being the kid at Ohio State. Dustin thinks the value that the Browns got with Shedeur Sanders is about the same value the Steelers got with Howard. The guys asked Dustin who the odd-man-out may be in Cleveland. Dustin raved about Jack Sawyer, who the Steelers snagged in the 4th round on Saturday.

The Penguins have fired Mike Sullivan. What led up to this point? The words of Kyle Dubas made it sound like a firing – not a ‘parting of ways' like they wanted. The guys wondered if Sullivan has something else lined up with either the Rangers or Bruins. Poni said Sullivan is one of the best coaches in this city in recent years, with the accolades as the best man behind the bench for the Penguins. After 2 Stanley Cups in roughly 10 years of coaching, Sullivan is moving on. Who is the bigger issue with the Penguins – the coach or the GM? It's a discussion we tend to have with the baseball team in town. How much of a commitment was there to the Penguins from the head coach? The guys said it's also fair to wonder what this means for Sidney Crosby and his future. Did the Penguins make the right move firing Mike Sullivan? Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. TK thinks Kyle Dubas said and did the right thing today, parting ways with Mike Sullivan. He also thinks Dubas handled things correctly with Sidney Crosby and made mention that it would be a longer conversation if Crosby had an issue with it. Tyler said even Sid can't pull off being a star player along with holding down GM duties like some stars tend to do. He suggested that Sid is aware a change needs to be made. TK said this is a better fit job for a younger coach looking to prove himself and not a veteran coach ready to win. Tyler thinks Sid had a great relationship with Sullivan, but he was able to acknowledge it was time for a change.

The Steelers passed on available quarterbacks in round one to pick DT Derrick Harmon.
Is there a real opportunity for Shedeur Sanders to be on the board at 83? The guys said it's a no-brainer for the Steelers to pick him if he's actually there. But who else would they consider? Open Phone Friday.

Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark also had the Steelers selecting Derrick Harmon, so he is taking a victory lap today. The guys talked about the differing opinions when it came to the mock drafts leading up to the 21st pick with so many names expecting the Steelers to pick Shedeur Sanders. There was an agreement that ESPN went to pretty embarrassing levels to shill for Sanders last night. The conversation then shifted to the 83rd pick and if Sanders is still there. Mark speculated on the order of importance for the Steelers if Harmon wasn't on the board for them at 21. Mark is still adamant that Aaron Rodgers is a done deal. Mark didn't buy into any of the Kirk Cousins news or rumors that the Steelers had interest. Mark gave quite the interesting QB name to look out for in the draft. More w/ Mark – Mark thinks the Steelers would have moved George Pickens already if he asked for a trade. The guys asked Mark how much of an issue it could be for the Steelers and Pickens if he goes into a lame duck season. More w/ Mark – Mark thinks pick 83 is RB and hopefully one of the Ohio State guys, although he admitted that is wishful thinking. Mark thinks DJ Giddens is a real option and mentioned why there are some fumble concerns with a few guys. Could the Steelers really be looking at edge rusher tonight? Mark suggested the Steelers would ‘sprint' to the podium for Jalen Milroe if he's there at 83. Mark expects the Steelers to pick another DL this weekend.
Dianna Russini is reporting that the Steelers open for business in regards to George Pickens, if it can get the Steelers back into the 2nd round. We also reacted to the sad news with Derrick Harmon, whose mom passed away last night after receiving word he was drafted. GIVEAWAY. Audibles & Analytics podcast host Jon Ledyard joined the show. Jon didn't love the immediate Derrick Harmon comp to Cam Heyward, but he really likes the pick. He said Harmon has a very high floor who will be a borderline elite one in this draft. The guys asked Jon how early Harmon can fit into this defense from the jump. Jon said he would have taken Matthew Golden if Harmon was unavailable at 21 and he didn't have the option to trade down. Jon applauded the Steelers for not jumping on a QB that didn't warrant a 1st round pick last night like the mistake they made a few years ago. Jon described this draft as a ‘dart throw quarterback class' because it lacks strength behind the top guy. Jon doesn't think the Steelers get more than a 3rd round pick for George Pickens, unless a team is very dumb or desperate. Jon's guess for the next two picks are RB and QB, but not necessarily in that order.

Derrick thinks the Steelers made the right choice, drafting Derrick Harmon over either of the available QBs. He also noted that Shedeur Sanders was definitely higher on his board than Jaxson Dart. Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray is sticking with Derrick Harmon to the Steelers at 21, but thinks all of the big DTs are in play. How likely is it for the Steelers to take Shedeur Sanders? Do the Steelers have a read on Aaron Rodgers and his situation? Ray thinks the most the Steelers could get for George Pickens is a late 2nd round pick, mentioning Kansas City as an example. Will the Steelers draft Shedeur Sanders later tonight? The oddsmakers have it at better than 50/50 odds Sanders ends up in a Steelers' uniform. How do we think it is breaking down in the Steelers war room? The guys think Mike Tomlin is the one in love with Sanders and everyone else is a bit lukewarm on him. KDKA TV's Bob Pompeani joined the show. Pomp thinks all of this could be a massive smokescreen from the Steelers and they will take a defensive tackle tonight. Pomp's choice would be Kenneth Grant, but he'd be happy with a big-name DL. Will George Pickens get traded in the next 48 hours? Pomp questioned their love for Jalen Milroe because they had Justin Fields in their back pocket who is the same type of player. The guys asked Pomp about the best/worst Steelers golfers. The guys aske Bob about the Merril Hoge opinion on some of these players. Power Rankings.

Draft Day. We started with George Pickens and the latest around the Steelers receiver who is up to his old tricks on social media as we approach a draft where he is surrounded by trade rumors. Are the Steelers better off moving on from Pickens? If it's a way for the Steelers to recoup an extra pick tomorrow night, the guys think the team should do it. Poni is baffled by the amount of George Pickens supporters out there. PG columnist Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason and the guys recapped the Pirates win against the Angels last night. Jason got into his column about Bob Nutting fixing his baseball team instead of the PR problems. Jason does think there could be a mark close to us in which we see Derek Shelton let go, but the wins from the last two nights certainly helped his matters. Jason talked about the lineup stuff and why Andrew McCutchen is voicing some of his annoyance on social media. Jason said the lineup is so matchup based and the Pirates hunt that stuff at all costs, instead of keeping things consistent.
