With major announcements across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and VisionOS, the group dives into what these updates mean for users, developers, and Apple's broader ecosystem strategy. The episode opens with panel introductions before jumping straight into VisionOS 26, where the team highlights Apple's focus on spatial computing. Features like interactive 3D widgets, refined Personas, and improved collaboration tools on Vision Pro generate both excitement and critical commentary. Marty and Eric share real-world experiences with spatial widgets, emphasizing their value in immersive environments. The panel acknowledges Apple's ambitious direction for Vision Pro as it evolves from a tech demo to a productivity and creative powerhouse. Next, the conversation moves into iOS 26, spotlighting the redesigned lock screen with dynamic wallpapers and a streamlined interface for messages and phone calls. Jeff praises the new call screening and RCS group chat support, both of which significantly improve communication experiences. Updates to the Camera app and accessibility tools also reinforce Apple's commitment to a more inclusive user experience. iPadOS 26 draws praise for finally bridging the productivity gap with macOS. The introduction of a new windowing system allows for desktop-like multitasking, and panelists are enthusiastic about the debut of the Preview app on iPad. The improved Files app and richer audio input options are celebrated as productivity boosters, making the iPad an even stronger contender as a primary computing device. Turning to macOS 15, the conversation continues around convergence — with iPad and Mac experiences growing closer than ever. Chuck and David discuss how feature parity is leading to more seamless transitions between devices, particularly for multitasking and app continuity. The panel also briefly touches on watchOS 11 and tvOS 18, noting updates in health, fitness, and media experience. While these updates were more iterative, they reflect Apple's steady enhancement of its peripheral platforms. One of the standout segments is a look at Apple Intelligence, Apple's new generative AI initiative. The group discusses how Apple's privacy-first approach to AI, combined with on-device and cloud-assisted processing, could change the way users interact with Siri, productivity apps, and automation. The discussion also covers how this impacts developers and third-party integrations moving forward. In the final stretch, the team speculates on the future of the iPad and Mac. Will they fully converge or continue to serve distinct roles? With the iPad gaining more macOS features and the Mac embracing touch-like elements, the lines continue to blur. The episode closes with a few announcements and community highlights, including a plug for Macstock 2024 — inviting listeners to connect in person and keep the Apple discussion going. Meta Looks To Bring Back ‘OG Facebook' With Revamped Friends Tab Notes:Facebook's New Friends Tab:Focuses on friend-only content (posts, stories, Reels).Includes birthday reminders, friend requests, and online status.Aims to shift focus from AI-recommended content back to personal connections.Meta's Goal:Bring back Facebook's original purpose of connecting friends and family.Zuckerberg acknowledges Facebook moved away from its early social elements.Plans to reintroduce “OG” Facebook experiences throughout the year.Challenges:People post less on Facebook now, leading to low engagement in the new tab. Most users won't navigate away from the main feed to check the Friends tab.Shift to private messaging makes public sharing less appealing. Conclusion:Meta is trying to revive Facebook's nostalgic social experience. However, user behavior has changed, making success unlikely.Overall, many doubt this will significantly improve engagement.MO Thoughts:This feels like Meta trying to recapture nostalgia without addressing why people stopped posting in the first place. Facebook became less about personal connections and more about ads, divisive content, and passive scrolling. A dedicated friends tab won't magically bring back organic sharing when users have already moved to private messaging and other platforms. Unless they rethink how people want to engage, this update is more of a nice idea than a real solution.

Lucy Minturn and Liz Kloster co-own FosterWorks, a sheet metal fabrication shop in Chicago. After purchasing the business a couple of years ago, they've worked to shape it with their own vision, despite having no prior experience in the industry. By combining their complementary skills and building a strong team, they've successfully grown the manufacturing business. FosterWorks operates out of 18,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space with eight employees. Their equipment includes lasers, punches, brakes, and forming machines, allowing them to handle a range of metal fabrication projects. The shop places a strong emphasis on fostering a collaborative, respectful culture that values work-life balance while retaining secure manufacturing jobs in Chicago and sustain pathways to the middle class for area residents, a core element of their mission. While FosterWorks initially specialized in lighting components, they've expanded into prototyping and manufacturing parts for startups and new products. Their approach focuses on clear communication and flexibility with customers. FosterWorks is WOSB (Women-Owned Small Business) and WBE (Women-Business Enterprise) certified and work through Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC), the official representative of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). It was supposed to be a temporary stop-gap whilst the government got on top of its revamped school lunch programme but today fed up students had had enough and over 350 meals were left untouched. Louise Ternouth headed out west for lunch.
