The third game ball goes to Payton Wilson for his bounce back game. The second game ball goes to DK Metcalf for his 126-yard performance. The first game ball goes to Kenneth Gainwell for his career day.
The Pirates extended Don Kelly and will bring back Ben Cherington. Poni disagrees with the idea that Cherington should still be in Pittsburgh. The Pirates have by far the worst record in the NL Central since Cherington took over as GM. Cherington is under contract until 2027. Does the fact that the Steelers won the game excuse Mike Tomlin punting on 4th and 1 towards the end of the game? Calls.
Poni praises Tomlin and Arthur Smith along with the players for executing. The Bills are the only team in the AFC with a better record than the Steelers. Poni says that this means Tomlin is doing a good coaching job. Mullsy disagrees with this take. Jalen Ramsey pretended to tear his hamstring in a celebration yesterday before actually hurting his hamstring later. Calls. Donny Football Debrief. Intern Dom said that the Steelers should swap head coaches with Penn State, and Limits said that he is taking a break from supporting Drew Allar. Will Penn State make the playoff?

The guys are at Studio B and Poni was late after being warned of that by Donny and Chris earlier today. So, we made fun of him for the first segment until he showed up around 2:12 pm. Does this game mean more to the Steelers? We know how much the trip means to the Rooney family and how much it would have meant to the late Dan Rooney. It seems like some players, Cam Heyward included, sounds like this game has some more juice. The guys think it also means a ton to Mike Tomlin, given how much it means for the family that hired him. Poni said he can't picture the Steelers coming out flat in this game. PG columnist Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason has been in Ireland all week, so he gave a lay of the land of what is going on. He told the guys about some of the local vernacular he's picking up. Jason thinks this game does mean a little bit more to the Steelers. Jason thinks the Rooney family would like for this to not be the last time the Steelers play in Dublin. Jason said it could be close to a 50/50 crowd even though the Steelers are the home team.

Ben Roethlisberger bashed Broderick Jones for his tape on Sunday. Are we close to declaring him a bust? Chris was the biggest Jones fan of them all and he still wants to wait out what he can do with more games at left tackle. How many guys on the offensive line have actually done well under the coaching of Pat Meyer? Is it just another instance of bad coaching? Poni said the Steelers should have jumped on Hank Fraley before his coaching career took off. Chris doesn't think Troy Fautanu has been much better than Jones. Judge Donny – Should the Pirates pull Paul Skenes tonight the moment his ERA goes below 2? Mike Florio from Pro Football Focus joined the show. Why can't the Steelers or Vikings go over to Dublin until Friday? Mike told a story about his first Steelers-Vikings game, which are his two favorite teams. The guys think it's odd than an industry like the NFL didn't make sure that every international location had suitable facilities to allow the teams to practice well ahead of time in that city. Mike talked about teams dealing with giving away a home game in favor of playing internationally. Who is in more trouble – the Chiefs or the Ravens, one of which will fall to 1-3 this Sunday? The guys got Mike's reaction to Russell Wilson being benched in NY. How will the Steelers' comp picks be impacted by what has happened to some of their free agents?

The Ravens allowed 38 points in a loss at home on Monday Night Football to the Lions. Is the door open for the Steelers to win the division? Chris told Poni to hold his horses because Baltimore has played 2 of the best teams in the league, it's not a team that has lost to bums. Is the Ravens defense a bit overrated? Are fans jumping on the Steelers bandwagon more with the Ravens at 1-2? Tomlin Tidbits – We dove a little further into the debut of Derrick Harmon and what it meant for the defense.

Donny Football Debrief – Pitt is retiring Aaron Donald's number 97 when they play Notre Dame this year. Poni says he will be in attendance. He also thinks Pitt will beat Louisville this week.
The Steelers won the game in New England. It wasn't a pretty effort, but did it make it any less than a regular win? Poni said anytime you win a game in Foxboro, it's a big one. Chris couldn't have disagreed more – sighting poor offense for a lot of the game getting help from the timely defense with help from 5 Patriots turnovers. Was it a satisfying win?
The Steelers forced 5 turnovers against the Pats yesterday. The guys say that they feel better about the defense after this. Mullsy says that the Patriots still moved the ball against the Steelers, despite the turnovers. Poni says that it is good that Jabrill Peppers played more than Juan Thornhill because “Thornhill sucks”.
Aaron Rodgers said that he did not play well. Poni says that the Steelers should be able to rely on the defense to win them games based on how much money they have invested into it. The guys also agree that the offensive line did not play poorly yesterday.

Poni is in a dark place with the game this weekend against the Pats and the current standing of the Steelers, Jermaine Wiggins joins the show from The Other Side (he has no local connections to Pittsburgh), Hodgepodge
What a difference a week makes. The vibes are vastly different this week than they were this week. Poni thinks that Aaron Rodgers is going to get hit a lot this Sunday against the Patriots and for a 41 year old quarterback that is not a good thing. He is on pace to get sacked 60 times. There seems to be a lot of negativity going into Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.
Nový bazén nabídne lidem nejen závodní plavecké dráhy, ale podle nezávislého radního České Vsi Romana Michálka i rozsáhlejší zázemí než dříve.
Is Aaron Rodgers already having buyer's remorse about choosing the Steelers? With injuries at QB in both Minnesota and Cincinnati, Rodgers could be stuck with a bad offense. Poni thinks the Week 2 performance and loss, filled with multiple gaffes, could already create some cracks in the armor. Can Mike Tomlin save this thing?

Poni thinks the Week 2 performance and loss, filled with multiple gaffes, could already create some cracks in the armor. Can Mike Tomlin save this thing? HOCKEY TALK! Kyle Dubas responded to the rumors of Sidney Crosby – or his agent – tossing out the idea of a future trade. Dubas said if he placates Crosby right here and now, that doesn't help his team in the future. The guys think Dubas has already tried things ‘Sid's way' and they didn't work, so now they are facing a rebuild. PG columnist Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason feels more confident than ever that the Ben Cherington era will be over in Pittsburgh as the Pirates skid to the finish. What does the future look like for this team? Jason still thinks Paul Skenes wants to win here. Jason doesn't expect the payroll to go much higher in 2026 – maybe around $90M.
Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown joined the show. Greg reflected on the season from Paul Skenes as he enters his final home start of the season. Greg said it's already hard to tell if there is another pitcher in Pirates history more dominant than Skenes. Greg said the division crown is still a goal, but it only takes the team being a little better than average to be in a playoff spot. Greg said it takes a legitimate starting SS and/or 3B to feel serious about next season. Greg talked about the decision by Don Kelly to sit Oneil Cruz and how frustrating the second half of the season has been for Cruz. The guys asked Greg about the idea of Cruz changing his position yet again in the offseason. Poni had Greg answer questions all around the diamond for the 2026 Buccos.

Poni claims Austin texted him that Starkey picked the Steelers to go 6-0. That did not happen! Pitt struggled against West Virginia and blew a 10 point lead. The Steelers and Pitt have combined to lose 13 of their last 16 games.
Hour 3 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: Our report card for the Steelers. Kaleb Johnson admitted he messed up and has a chip on his shoulder. Johnson hasn't been able to provide any production to the running back room during the first two games. Poni claims Austin texted him that Starkey picked the Steelers to go 6-0. The Steelers and Pitt have combined to lose 13 of their last 16 games.
Aaron Rodgers said that it is only week 2 and everybody should relax. Poni mentions that Rodgers was great in week one, but the offense as a whole really was not. The Seahawks did a good job taking DK Metcalf out of the game yesterday. Mullsy does not think that Mike Tomlin will win another playoff game with the Steelers.

Donny Football Debrief – WVU beat Pitt in Morgantown to close out this edition of the Backyard Brawl. Pat Narduzzi is lucky that the Steelers lost, so that nobody talks about the brawl. The guys expected Pitt to win, but thought it would be close.

Aaron Rodgers will play in Pittsburgh for the first time as a Steeler. Chris says that he is excited to see Rodgers for the first time at Acrisure. He also predicts that Rodgers will get the biggest reaction if they do individual introductions. Even though they had a great performance offensively against the Jets, it is not a sure thing that it will happen against the Seahawks this weekend. Poni points out that Rodgers has never won a game at Acrisure Stadium. That will obviously change this season. Poni is not as excited as Mullsy.
It seems like there is a better chance now than ever before than the Penguins could trade Sidney Crosby. This time the messaging is coming from his agent and nothing from a writer or reporter. How would you feel about this? The guys think Crosby has given so much to the Penguins on and off the ice that it should be his prerogative to get moved. What does the future of this team look like with Kyle Dubas in charge? Poni tried to get a big guest on the show. Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. Tyler doesn't think Sidney Crosby had any push in his agent mentioning a trade is always on the table. TK said Sid has way too much respect for the city and organization. Tyler thinks it's a scary strategy to rebuild from the studs and he's not sure if that is the smartest move by the Penguins. Chris asked about the relationship Crosby has with Evgeni Malkin and if Geno leaves, could that open up the door for Sid to do the same thing? If the Penguins are way out of the playoff race going into the trade deadline, will a move be made? TK said there is nothing worse than being on a losing team in the NHL.
Mike Tomlin talked today. He's not worried about Broderick Jones. Mullsy isn't feeling very optimistic after Sunday. He got beat every way imaginable. These struggles are even more concerning because Rodgers looked very good. A caller is very concerned about Jones. It's Dick Lebeau's birthday! Poni thinks the chat with our guest from PFF might get contentious. Is Broderick Jones already a bust? Why didn't the Steelers give him more help on Sunday? We shift to a conversation about sumo wrestling. A caller somewhat defends Jones, citing that he's engaged. Payton Wilson had a rough game on Sunday, Mike Tomlin isn't a ball treatment specialist. Aaron Rodgers received a horrid PFF grade. PFF grader John Kosko joins to explain himself. He references a dropped interception by the Jets and the myriad of screen passes. Bryce Young was ranked ahead based on the grades. They did not credit him with any "big time throws". Could Tyreek Hill be a real option for the Steelers? Is he washed after a rough 2024? He might have more legal trouble on the horizon. Is he worth it? Would KC be the best fit for him anyway? Our PFF guest thanked us for having him already. Poni runs down the BFF QB rankings. Dolphins reporter Armando Salguero joins to discuss the Tyreek Hill rumors and the financial implications. He points out several potential issues with Hill. Could the Dolphins trade him if they lose this weekend? Who is on the Mt Rushmore for Westmoreland County athletes? Jabrill Peppers signed with the Steelers today. He can still play and he's dynamite against the run. A frank discussion about Abraham Lincoln. Andy Gresh joins to discuss what the Steelers are getting in Jabrill Peppers, if he was surprised he was let go in New England, his story about Pat Narduzzi, how many Big Macs he ate in one sitting. Donny Debrief with Sean - looking at the PFF team from Week 1, there's no Steelers but a ton of Jets. Tomlin Takes: We hear various comments he made from today's press conference.
