June 24, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 154 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the NFL announcing on Tuesday that they will not be holding a supplemental draft for QB Brendan Sorsby this summer. We go over the letter the NFL sent to Sorsby on their decision, whether it is the right decision, the legal battle the quarterback might attempt, and what his options are if he can't play college or FL football in 2026. Alex and I briefly discuss the NFL being in bed with betting outlets and the hypocrisy that many see in that when it comes to the Sorsby situation. After thoroughly discussing the latest news on Sorsby, something that we have to do because of the quarterback being a topical discussion when it comes to the Steelers, we move to talking in-depth about six more players in my annual 90 in 30 training camp preview series. The six players that Alex and I discuss in this episode are TE Jaheim Bell, DT Keeanu Benton, WR Germie Bernard, DT Yahya Black, K Chris Boswell, and CB Devan Boykin. As part of our discussions about all six of those players, we discuss the summer outlook for each and the chances a few of them have at sticking in Pittsburgh once the preseason ends. June 22, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 153 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing a possible training camp battle this summer between Keeanu Benton and Yahya Black for the starting nose tackle job in the team's base defense. We discuss the play of both Benton and Black in 2025 and there could legitimately be a position battle between the two players this summer and especially if the former doesn't wind up signing a contract extension soon. Alex and I also discuss what Benton's 2026 role with the team might ultimately be should he not be the starting nose tackle in the base defense to open the regular season. Additionally, we also discuss if the Steelers might be open to trading Benton just ahead of the regular season getting underway should Black ultimately beat him out of a starting role this summer. On the heels of Alex completing a big book study on Steelers' new offensive line coach James Campen, we discuss a few of his recent findings from his research and the kind of impact we expect him to make on his unit and several individual players. With my annual 90 In 30: Steelers 2026 Training Camp Preview Series now underway as of Monday morning, Alex and I discuss the first set of three players that I wrote about, QB Drew Allar, OG Spencer Anderson, and DT Kyler Baugh. We discuss the outlook for each player throughout training camp and beyond. June 19, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 152 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into the Pittsburgh Steelers deciding to add LB Jacoby Windmon back into the fold on the heels of him playing in the UFL this offseason. We also discuss the Steelers continuing to churn the bottom of their 91-man roster even after the offseason practices last week. As we head into the weekend, QB Brendan Sorsby remains a primary topic ahead of him now looking ahead to the NFL's supplemental draft. The Steelers continue to be linked as one of a few teams that could potentially look to select Sorsby in July. Alex and I discuss the pros and cons related to the Steelers maybe selecting Sorsby in the supplemental draft, what round they might consider doing so, and how drafting him would likely shape the number of quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. Indiana HC Curt Cignetti recently commented on Sorsby and his future so we discuss what he had to say and if his words might resonate any with the Steelers with Frank Cignetti Jr. being a coach on the team. Alex and I also discuss the forever baggage that will be attached to Sorsby no matter which team he ultimately lands with. Will the Steelers send anyone notable to Sorby's upcoming workout for NFL teams? If the Steelers are present for that workout, who from the organization should attend it if the team is seriously considering selecting him in the supplemental draft? We attempt to address both of those questions during this show. After a long discussion about Sorsby, Alex and I recap what former Steelers GM Kevin Colbert had to say about the selecting former QB Kenny Pickett in the first round of the draft several years ago. Colbert still defends the selection of Pickett, and Alex and I wonder if he really should continue to do so. Later in this show, I provide an updated recap of the Steelers' salary cap situation on the heels of the recent transactions made by the team. Alex and I also dive deeper into QB Drew Allar having yet to sign his rookie contract and what that might be. We also go over the brief list of other members of the 2026 draft class that have yet to sign their rookie contracts as well. This 92-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. June 17, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 151 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and Ross McCorkle get into the latest roster moves, including a reported reunion with Jacoby Windmon for the third time. We also discuss the flurry of roster moves since the start of OTAs, and what it means about Mike McCarthy's new way of doing things in Pittsburgh. We then dive into all the latest on Brendan Sorsby, including his official application being submitted to the NFL to be in July's supplemental draft. Is it surprising that Pittsburgh is already doing their homework, and will they ultimately be interested in making a bid for his services? We debate all of that and more on the NFL's most buzzworthy current topic. Darnell Washington appeared on Cameron Heyward's podcast, and revealed something interesting about McCarthy's strength and conditioning staff. We talk about weight goals, team fines, and the expectations for a lighter Washington in 2026. We then wrap up the show with a quick discussion on the potential of the offense, and another year of Roman Wilson OTAs buzz. June 15, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 150 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the potential market value a year from now when it comes to OG Mason McCormick on the heels of the New York Jets reportedly signing OG Joe Tippmann to a contract extension this week. Alex has a new article on the roster chances of several Steelers' players that appear to be just outside the bubble ahead of training camp getting underway in roughly six weeks, so we go over that list and percentages that he included in the post. A few listeners have recently asked us both why we are not talking about the Steelers possibly acquiring San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk this offseason, so we address his current situation, his contract, and why we both think the Steelers should and likely will stay clear of going after him this offseason. With the start of training camp now on the horizon, Alex and I go over the most notable position battles when it comes to the offensive side of the football. We address the importance of the right side of the offensive line when it comes to those battles, and we take a long look at who the plausible favorites are for the Week 1 starting job at both the right guard and right tackle spots. June 12, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 149 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Thursday transactions that were made by the Pittsburgh Steelers. As part of that discussion, Alex and I wonder if the Steelers will only carry one long snapper on their 91-man roster at the start of training camp. With Friday officially the end of the Steelers offseason practices, Alex and I take some time to give our top four takeaways and things learned about the team from the start of rookie minicamp through the end of OTA practices. Alex and I spend quite a bit of time discussing the depth of this year's 91-man roster and whether the tough forthcoming 53-man roster decisions include more question marks this year as opposed to several recent offseasons at around this same time year. We go over our previous 53-man roster predictions from several weeks ago and each name our players that deserve question marks. On the heels of Alex writing about the roster percentage chances for the perceived longshot players currently under contract, we discuss that lengthy list and the ones that might be too high or too low when it comes to their percentages assigned. It makes for a fun discussion topic as the team breaks for the summer. What will the contract extension market price be for Steelers C Zach Frazier roughly a year from now and will the recent deal signed by Miami Dolphins C Aaron Brewer have any sort of impact on amount? Alex and I set a perceived market value line in the sand for Frazier with a year or so to go until he possibly signs a very lucrative contract extension. June 11 – Ep. 103: For today's episode, Joe Clark and Ross McCorkle discuss Mike McCarthy's OTAs, which are being described as notably more intense and structured than Mike Tomlin's in recent years. Will players burn out toward the end of the season, as Ben Roethlisberger suggested, or is that a silly thought? Next, we discuss Big Ben's record prediction of 12-5, and whether or not that is too optimistic. We offer our early record predictions as well. For the last topic, we dive into Brendan Sorsby's mess in the NCAA, and why it's an awful thing not only for college football, but for sports in general. We wrap up the show with a listener question about an under-the-radar trade candidate. Thank you for joining us for this 40-minute episode, and we hope to see your thoughts in the comment section. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers claiming P Aidan Laros off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday. We go over what we know about Pittsburgh's new punter and the team deciding to release WR Brandon Johnson to make room for him on the roster. The Steelers are winding down their final early offseason practices this week and with two sessions remaining, we go over what HC Mike McCarthy had to say during his Tuesday media session. We go deeper into what McCarthy had to say about TE Darnell Washington and rookie RB/WR Eli Heidenreich. We also discuss the roster chances of the latter. Rookie QB Drew Allar spoke to the media on Tuesday, so we discuss the key things he had to say during his session. We also talk briefly about what OG Mason McCormick had to say on Tuesday as well. A few Steelers players plan on training in Wisconsin with T.J. Watt, so Alex and I make sure to cover that latest tidbit. Alex recently wrote about a few overarching team stats that the Steelers posted in 2025 that the team should hope to duplicate in 2026. We also attempt to add two more to his list of three. How soon will the Steelers be looking at a new stadium? On the heels of former Steelers QB Charlie Batch talking about that topic this week, Alex and I provide our own thoughts and possible answers to that new stadium question. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers as they get ready for their final week of offseason practices. The Steelers recently signed OLB Nick Herbig and TE Darnell Washington to lucrative contract extensions, so on the heels of the two deals, Alex and I go over the finer details of both. We discuss the fully guaranteed money included in both deals, the injury guaranteed amounts, the cash flows, and the new 2026 salary cap charges for each player. Alex and I also quickly go over the new one-year contracts that TE Robert Tonyan and LB Jamin Davis each signed last week and how neither impacted the Steelers' salary cap situation. With the recent fleury of contract news, Alex and I go over where the Steelers now sit when it comes to their 2026 salary cap status. We discuss current salary cap space and what awaits the team when it comes to future costs later in the offseason. Alex and I discuss the latest news on college QB Brendan Sorsby when it comes to his potential 2026 playing eligibility. Alex recently wrote about what statistical areas that the Steelers must improve in this coming season, so we go over those three in addition to adding a fourth one while discussing the topic. June 5, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 146 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers signing TE Robert Tonyan and LB Jamin Davis on the heels of both players coming to Pittsburgh for tryouts this past week. We discuss what each brings to the team and how each make the overall 91-man roster better. The Steelers waived UDFA TE Chamon Metayer on Thursday, so Alex and I make sure to recap that team transaction and the dead money charges that came along with it. TE Darnell Washington was signed to a four-year, $42 million contract extension since our last show, so Alex and I dedicate a lot of time to discussing the finer details of that deal and his role and possible usage on offense moving forward into the 2026 season. With the Steelers being expected to sign CB Joey Porter Jr. to a contract extension at some point prior to the regular season getting underway, Alex and I discuss what might be holding up that deal from getting done at this point of the offseason. Will the Steelers also get DT Keeanu Benton signed to an extension this offseason? Alex and I reexplore the possibility and probability of that happening and what his APY value seems to be right now. We also discuss whether a Benton contract extension could potentially wind up being for four years. OLB T.J. Watt held a media session a few days ago, so Alex and I go over the few notable things he had to say about his role and usage in the defense moving forward under the new coaching staff. With former Steelers QB Russell Wilson retiring from the NFL this week, Alex and I discuss whether he is Hall of Fame worthy or not. Next, we discuss another offseason of Roman Wilson buzz after a deep-ball connection from Aaron Rodgers to Wilson on the final day of minicamp practice. Is it okay to buy into the hype again after being burned last year? We debate this and more. June 3, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 145 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing Pittsburgh Steelers finally signing free agent S Darnell Savage to a one-year contract on Tuesday. We also discuss the player waived to make room for Savage on the roster. The Steelers had five players in for tryouts on Tuesday, so Alex and I go over that list players, which is headlined by TE Robert Tonyan and ILB Jamin Davis. The Cleveland Browns traded away DE Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, so Alex and I both chime in on what that deal included and now means for both teams as well as the Steelers. Alex and I then talk a little bit more about the Steelers' decision to sign OLB Nick Herbig to a four-year, $100 million contract extension on Tuesday. We discuss how the onus is now on the Steelers to find a way to get Herbig on the field more in 2026 and even it is part of a three outside linebacker package that also includes T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. With the Herbig extension now completed, Alex and I address the plausibility and probability of the Steelers trading away one of Watt or Highsmith. We discuss the possible highest draft pick compensation for either player as part of any type of trade and if either of us would consider such a deal. The Steelers now seem poised to sign CB Joey Porter Jr. to a contract extension on the heels of Herbig getting done, so Alex and I speculate what a new deal might ultimately look like for him. We also discuss the possibility of Porter receiving fully guaranteed money beyond 2026 should he indeed wind up signing a contract extension this offseason. This 87-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. June 2, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 144 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday afternoon show, an emergency episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing Pittsburgh Steelers OLB Nick Herbig coming to terms with the team on a four-year, $100 million contract extension at the start of the annual mandatory minicamp practices. Alex and I go over the early details related to Herbig's contract extension and where he now ranks league-wide as far as edge rushers in the NFL. We also discuss how early the Steelers were able to get the Herbig extension done and how refreshing that was. Alex and I then look at what this contract extension now might mean when it comes to getting him on the field more in 2026. We discuss how the team is likely to still stick with T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith in 2026 as well and how new DC Patrick Graham needs a plan to make sure all three outside linebackers are utilized enough. Alex and I talk about how Herbig is still an ascending player and how he now provides great insurance at the outside linebacker position moving past the 2026 season, and especially if either Watt or Highsmith don't play up above the line this year. We make sure to address how much Herbig's 2026 salary cap charge is likely to increase now and if the team will provide any fully guaranteed money in the new deal past the 2026 season. Finally, Alex and I discuss how Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. might not be too far behind Herbig when it comes to his expected offseason contract extension. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. June, 1, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 143 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing it being June 1st and how there is a lot of buzz surrounding the Cleveland Browns possibly trading away DE Myles Garrett soon. On the heels of there being a lot of talk about the 55 total touches per game stat that new Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy is big on, Alex and I take a deep dive into the history and significance of that statistic as it relates to his own career. Alex and I wonder if there really should be a ton made about that stat overall and especially when it comes to the 2026 season. Alex recently wrote about four offensive stats that the Steelers must improve in 2026, so we spend some time going over each of those that he highlighted and why. The Steelers will hold their annual mandatory minicamp this week, so Alex and I go over a few key things to look for during the upcoming practice sessions. We discuss whether we should expect Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. to do much of anything this week and if it will be a true sign that a training camp hold-in might be on the horizon. This 66-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
