In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting OT Max Iheanachor out of Arizona State with their first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. We discuss what the Steelers are getting in Iheanachor, his strengths and weaknesses, and how he probably fits in positionally on the offensive line as a rookie. Alex and I discuss what Steelers GM Omar Khan and HC Mike McCarthy both had to say about Iheanachor following the selection of the tackle in the first round. We both explain how we don't see the Steelers selecting an edge rusher until at least day-three of the draft. Dane Brugler of The Athletic released his annual draft guide on Wednesday morning so Alex and I start clawing our way through that large publication. We go over players ranked in Brugler's top 30 that could potentially be the Steelers first-round selection this year. We go over how it differs this year and how we are still awaiting the dates of the team's rookie minicamp. Tony Pauline recently had an update on former Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. as it relates to him potentially being the Steelers' first round selection this year, so we go over that little tidbit. April 1, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 114 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the several things that Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy and team president Art Rooney II both said in recent interviews while the two were in Arizona for the NFL's annual league meetings. We first discuss whether Rooney II indeed now has a firm deadline for a decision by QB Aaron Rodgers. We also discuss what McCarthy has said recently about his conversations with Rodgers. McCarthy talked more about Steelers QB Will Howard the last few days, so we go over those quates. We also discuss McCarthy talking more about the kind of wide receiver he might be looking for in this year's draft. As part of that wide receiver discussion, Alex and I look back at some measurables from that position group that McCarthy has previously drafted while he was the head coach of the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. We compare those measurable averages to several top wide receivers in this year's draft class. Will McCarthy, Khan, or both show up at the Indiana pro day on Wednesday? We discuss that question in addition to what McCarthy said recently about only attending one pro day so far even though he had planned to make six of them this offseason. After wrapping up all the things that McCarthy and Rooney have recently said, Alex and I discuss the probability of the Steelers selecting a quarterback in this year's draft. We look at what McCarthy seems to be looking for as far as quarterback measurables and how former Arkansas QB Taylen Green fits those. Green, by the way, is reportedly scheduled to come to Pittsburgh for a pre-drafty visit. The Steelers are also reportedly bringing in former Memphis OT Travis Burke for a pre-draft visit, so Alex and I discuss what we know about him and how he might be a day-three selection candidate for the team later this month.
