Ken Rosenthal said that the Pirates and Konnor Griffin have had contract extension talks, but they haven't been advanced discussions. The Pirates would need to recall Griffin before April 9th to receive a draft pick from 26-32 overall if Griffin would win Rookie of the Year. The Pirates could hold Griffin down to avoid an additional year of arbitration. Griffin also hit under .200 in spring training.
