Pastor Lloyd teaches on Psalm 40, reminding us that life with God often involves seasons of waiting-even after breakthrough-and invites us to consider how hope deepens when we trust the spirit to do a new thing in us, not just for us.
Behind the scenes of my life and your life is a vast backdrop that is God. Here are my scenes being played out in this area, and your scenes playing out over here. Then another scene from someone else is going on in that arena and another is taking place over there. Sometimes they overlap for a time, but as each one plays out there is the reality of pessimism and hopelessness, but for the panorama of God that is going on behind and within our scenes. In God we see and experience an unobstructed view in all directions. God is everywhere! Moses understood the panorama of God in the process. You see, this psalm is not about Moses nor about life’s circumstances. This psalm is about God! So that is where Moses begins.

Pastor Ethan continues our new series, 5G, with a message reminding us that God is greater than our highs and lows.
In this short 4-week series, we will be identifying four life-changing truths about God. Psalm 62:11-12 says, "Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O LORD, belongs steadfast love." The key truths that God declares about Himself are His greatness and glory ("power belongs to God") and His goodness and grace ("to you, O LORD, belongs steadfast love").These characteristics of God help shape our character and keep us from believing the lies we feed ourselves daily. Do you want to see God change you? Then swing wide the front door of your heart and invite His liberating truth to come in, settle down, and encourage you."Behind every sin is a lie about God." — Steve Timmis & Tim ChesterWe counteract lies with truth. We are looking at four truths about God and their implications for our lives and in this message, we begin with God is Great—so we don't have to be in control.

[audio mp3="https://www.crossbridgeofocean.org/wp-content/uploads/sermons/2025/01/2025_01_05.mp3"][/audio] In this chapter of Revelation, John sees all the preparation that is going on before this incredible moment of the start of God's final and terrible judgments, which have been prophesized for many years. John sees God, seven angels, and the four living creatures around God's throne involved in these preparations. Let's see what we can learn from this chapter to help improve our relationship with Christ.

In today's sermon, Pastor Ben Nistor preaches on Isaiah 40: 1-31. In this passage, Israel is facing a time of great difficulty after sinning and turning from the Lord to worship idols. As a result, the Lord's judgment comes against Israel through the kingdom of Babylon. Babylon destroys Israel and hauls off the people to captivity. In response, Isaiah brings a word of comfort and hope to Israel. God promises to comfort his people by giving them the reminder of his greatness. This passage gives believers in Christ a proper response in times of darkness or discouragement as well. We see in Isaiah 40: 21--“Have you not known? Have you not heard?” A proper theology of God is crucial in times of difficulty. God is not too great to CARE and God is TOO GREAT to fail. We must trust him so that he can renew us with strength and fill us with hope (vv 30–31). Whether we struggle with sins or the circumstances of life, our strength and hope come from OUR GREAT GOD! ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_aa5a8b847a9e494d840a269b87ac0a85.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_f6e0c0b127ce426f849714df62a9094c.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: 3 Voices of Comfort Our Great God ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

All earthly kings that we demand, whether a literal king or a metaphorical one, like success or money or romance, are going to not only let us down; they are also going to enslave us.
In this teaching from The Life of David, Pastor J.D. shows us how all of us—religious or irreligious, Christian or not—seem hard-wired to chase after someone (or something) to make us feel okay. Like the people of Israel, we desire a king.
Send us a Text Message.Understanding the greatness of God is not easy. Yet, that doesn't keep us from trying. Scholars have spent years attempting to understand and describe to others the magnificent greatness of God. In today's message we are going to focus on three words that are often used in academic circles to describe the greatness of God, and that help us discover the impact those attributes of God's greatness have on our lives. General Theme for the Week: God can keep the believer! Today's Lesson: God is huge and God is hugely involved with my life. On this edition of One Single Story, Pastors Stephen Mizell and Dylan Wilkin discuss the following questions: Why is it so hard for people who believe in God to also believe God is involved with their life and loves them deeply? Many of us have heard the opening words of a children's prayer which is often prayed as a prayer of thanksgiving before a meal: "God is great, God is good.” Which of those two principles is easier to believe? Why? The reading for the day is Psalm 36:5-12 .
