[audio mp3="https://www.crossbridgeofocean.org/wp-content/uploads/sermons/2025/01/2025_01_05.mp3"][/audio] In this chapter of Revelation, John sees all the preparation that is going on before this incredible moment of the start of God's final and terrible judgments, which have been prophesized for many years. John sees God, seven angels, and the four living creatures around God's throne involved in these preparations. Let's see what we can learn from this chapter to help improve our relationship with Christ.
In today's sermon, Pastor Ben Nistor preaches on Isaiah 40: 1-31. In this passage, Israel is facing a time of great difficulty after sinning and turning from the Lord to worship idols. As a result, the Lord's judgment comes against Israel through the kingdom of Babylon. Babylon destroys Israel and hauls off the people to captivity. In response, Isaiah brings a word of comfort and hope to Israel. God promises to comfort his people by giving them the reminder of his greatness. This passage gives believers in Christ a proper response in times of darkness or discouragement as well. We see in Isaiah 40: 21--“Have you not known? Have you not heard?” A proper theology of God is crucial in times of difficulty. God is not too great to CARE and God is TOO GREAT to fail. We must trust him so that he can renew us with strength and fill us with hope (vv 30–31). Whether we struggle with sins or the circumstances of life, our strength and hope come from OUR GREAT GOD! ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_aa5a8b847a9e494d840a269b87ac0a85.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_f6e0c0b127ce426f849714df62a9094c.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: 3 Voices of Comfort Our Great God ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Send us a Text Message.Understanding the greatness of God is not easy. Yet, that doesn't keep us from trying. Scholars have spent years attempting to understand and describe to others the magnificent greatness of God. In today's message we are going to focus on three words that are often used in academic circles to describe the greatness of God, and that help us discover the impact those attributes of God's greatness have on our lives. We've called the message, “God is Great—So What?”WEB: www.dare2hope.lifeEMAIL: hope@dare2hope.lifeFACEBOOK: Dare to Hope Ministries"Yet I still dare to Hope..." - Lamentations 3:21
Only God Is Great #RTTBROS #nightlight Only God is Great "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's." — Romans 14:8 (KJV) In the grand halls of history, few moments are as poignant as the funeral of King Louis XIV of France. Known as "Louis the Great" or the "Sun King," Louis XIV reigned for 72 years, the longest of any monarch of a major country in European history. His reign was marked by the expansion of French influence and the establishment of a centralized state. When Louis XIV passed away in 1715, his funeral was a grand affair, befitting a king who had lived in such splendor. His body lay in a golden coffin, surrounded by the opulence that had characterized his reign. The cathedral was filled with mourners, and the atmosphere was heavy with the weight of his legacy. As the funeral service reached its climax, the Bishop of Meaux, Jean-Baptiste Massillon, stood before the congregation. In a dramatic gesture, he snuffed out the candle that had been burning beside the coffin and declared, "God alone is great." This powerful statement served as a humbling reminder that no matter how grand or influential a person may be, only God holds true greatness. The story of Louis XIV's funeral reminds us of the transient nature of earthly power and glory. Despite his immense influence and the grandeur of his reign, Louis XIV's life, like all human lives, came to an end. The bishop's declaration, "God alone is great," echoes the biblical truth that our lives are ultimately in God's hands. As we reflect on this story, let us remember that our true worth and greatness come not from our achievements or status, but from our relationship with God. Whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord, and it is His greatness that we should seek to honor in our lives. May we live each day with the humility and reverence that acknowledges God's supreme greatness, trusting in His eternal power and love. https://linktr.ee/rttbros Be sure to Like, Share, Follow and subscribe it helps get the word out. https://linktr.ee/rttbros

General Theme for the Week: God can keep the believer! Today's Lesson: God is huge and God is hugely involved with my life. On this edition of One Single Story, Pastors Stephen Mizell and Dylan Wilkin discuss the following questions: Why is it so hard for people who believe in God to also believe God is involved with their life and loves them deeply? Many of us have heard the opening words of a children's prayer which is often prayed as a prayer of thanksgiving before a meal: "God is great, God is good.” Which of those two principles is easier to believe? Why? The reading for the day is Psalm 36:5-12 .

Fr. Clint preaches on Good Friday.
Remember the prayer you learned as a preschooler? It probably started "God is great, God is good..." Those are actually precious truths that should guide the way you relate to God. Ps. 145 uses those two thoughts as a launching point for our praise.
It seems like there is always something going on that can cause us to be stressed out. Whether it's our health, our friends and family, our jobs, or literally anything, scripture would encourage us to lay those things down and look to the Lord. Last night, Zach taught the first week in our midweeks series: "God is Great - So We Don't Have to be in Control." We hope this message blesses you in the Lord. Originally February 7th, 2024. As section 2 of Isaiah opens, we are introduced to a brand new tone in Isaiah's prophetic voice; changing from one of coming judgment to one of promised comfort. That comfort is rooted in the promise of the coming Messiah and the hope of protection, provision and victory for God's people despite the current troubles.
