John 这个名字本来是古代犹太人常用的名字,意思是“上帝的恩赐”。因为《圣经》中有个人物叫John the Baptist,由此而传入英语,成为英语国家常用的男子名。那where is the john跟 John 有什么关系呢?听听吉米老师怎么说吧~the john≠约翰Where is the john? 所以 Where is the john 是“厕所在哪儿”的意思,而“约翰在哪儿”要说 where is John,一个有 the,一个没 the,一个大写,一个小写,别搞错啦。Excuse me. Could you please tell me where the john is?劳驾,你能告诉我厕所在哪里吗?hit the john上厕所知道了 the john 是“厕所”,就别把 hit the john 理解成“打约翰”啦,它是“上厕所”的意思,还可以写作 go to the john。Wait for a minute, I m going to hit the john.等一下,我要去上个厕所。拓展:I need to go to the toiletloo.我要上厕所。I need to use the restroomathroom.我要上厕所。I need to spend a penny.我去方便一下。I have to answer the call of nature.我得上个厕所。take a dump go number two上大号take a pee go number one上小号joe 不止是“乔”a cup of joe一杯咖啡Joe 为什么是“咖啡”呢? Why not sit down and have a cup of joe?为什么不坐下来喝杯咖啡呢?not for Joe决不!虽然 Joe 是英文名“乔”,但千万不要把 not for Joe 理解成“不适合乔”,它表示“决不,绝对不行”。- Could you please lend me 1,000 yuan until tomorrow?- Not for Joe!- 你能借我 1000 块钱吗?明天还你。- 绝对不行。jack≠杰克you don t know jack你什么都不知道Jack 除了是人名,还有很多用法。它小写的时候可以表示“千斤顶、插座”,扑克牌中的“一对 J” 要说 a pair of jacks。这里的 jack 表示“一点、根本”,you don t know jack 意思就是“你什么都不知道”。这里的 jack 不是人名,要小写哦~You don t know jack about computer, don t you?你完全不了解电脑,对吗?I m all right, Jack.我没事就好这句话里虽然有 Jack,但却和 Jack 无关,而是“我没事就好”的意思,传达出一种“我自己没事就好,别人死活与我无关”的意味。这里的 Jack 是人名,首字母一定要大写。All this is none of my business. I m all right, Jack. 最后 留给同学们一个小作业 :He doesn t know ( ) about math.他对数学一窍不通。A. jackB. Jack这个空应该怎么填呢? 同学们可以在 留言写下你的答案哦, 老师会亲自点评~

Full Transcripts, Key Words, and Discussion Questions Kevin: Welcome to an A to Z English Quick Chat where Jack and I are gonna surprise each other with a topic for the day and just see where the conversation goes. Check our site for a study guide with vocabulary notes, discussion questions and more as well as links to our Whatsapp or Facebook pages. And you can join in the conversation there. So Jack what do you want to talk about today?Jack: All right, well I have a good topic for us uh Kevin. I want to ask you a question here: Do you believe in aliens?Kevin: Do I believe in aliens? And when you say let's define this. I think first, what do you mean aliens? Do you mean like bacteria living on another planet or like some creatures that are as smart as us traveling through space and visiting Earth…Jack: Yeah, I'm talking about uh life forms that are much smarter than we are um intel intelligent life forms that are advanced so uh advanced life outside yeah in in another universe or oh sorry in in the universe but in another galaxy um you know.Kevin: So maybe in our galaxy too. Our galaxy could be an argument right? Quite huge um yeah I mean I yes just to just to break it down I think definitely. I think for me I'm a big sci-fi fan. I know you are as well and although I've seen a lot of other science documentaries that talk about this from. Did you ever see the movie contact?Jack: Yes, I love the movie Contact.Kevin: Yeah, it's yeah, it's a really cool one and I think it was in the movie Contact where they looked up at the skies and they said you know is there life out there and they said more or less like if there's not, it's a waste of space.,Jack: True yeah.Kevin: That's a good, there's good, there's so many stars and galaxies and they're discovering more and more planets every day that it seems like how could there not be. I mean there's trillions and trillions and trillions of stars out there. Like it seems uh amazing to think that we're the only one in all of that.Jack: I agree and it's infinite. It goes on, it seems to go on forever and ever like there's, no there's no stop to the expanse of space and so if are you telling me that in all of that area that massive amount of just space, there's nothing, there's not, one of those stars is a sun of another uh you know uh planetary system that there are no planets that can uh sustain life and uh you know it might be there might be some that had like you said before that are just small organisms and it's not advanced life but if they have you know just simple life forms, then there must be planets out there that have advanced life forms are bound to happen.Kevin: If yeah and I think that simple life will have to exist and if simple life exists and eventually it will become not simple life like we are. The difficult or more interesting question is like do you think do you think aliens have ever you know so many people think that aliens have come to planet Earth and like abducted people and things do you think that that's happened do you think we've been contacted by aliens?Jack: Yeah, this is a very popular conspiracy theory in the United States uh the Roswell uh story right?Kevin: Area 51.Jack: Area 51, right, where supposedly an alien spacecraft crash landed uh in that area. Now is that in your, is that in New Mexico? Is that that's next to Arizona right? Yeah Roswell New Mexico okay and so there's also a big a large military installation around there right? I think there's, okay and so supposedly within this military base they have tried to reverse engineer a spaceship that is so far beyond our technological capabilities and so things that we are able to build. Our spacecraft are so much slower and so much less sophisticated than what this machine is and I think although the alien uh craft that crashed in Roswell doesn't work that was able to teach us some very sophisticated and advanced uh technology that we never even thought about using and so some people believe that's what some people believe right and so I'm probably I'm not gonna say I don't believe it and I'm not gonna say I do believe it. I am on the fence as we say in English. I'm on the fence. What about you? where are you?Kevin: I mean yeah, I can't say yes or no for sure on that one. I do think it's I'd say it's unlikely. I don't think aliens have actually come to Earth because if they have, I don't think it would could have remained a secret in the same way like if it happened, people would know about it. This isn't like a superhero movie where aliens come down and somehow no one knows about it for you know hundreds of years. like we would probably know and I do think alien life exists. Intelligent life probably exists somewhere in the universe but the universe is again so big that the odds of them finding us or us finding them are like finding a needle in a haystack. It's tiny that it's a you know 0.0001 chance of finding something because there's just so much out there you know they could point their telescopes like we are we're pointing our telescopes up into the galaxy and we find nothing because there's so much to look for and we're and we're constantly beaming messages out into space to see if we can get some kind of response or some kind of you know that signal will reach some intelligent life and it doesn't seem like we've ever gotten any definitive evidence of it. It's just there's been some strange things that have happened but there hasn't been that contact with an alien life form that would confirm, at least nothing that we know.Jack: Yeah.Kevin: I'm not sure if you've ever seen it. I'll have to try and find the map for you. There's um like you've been talking about, we've been beaming things out into space for 100, so years now with all of our TV and radio, but even all of that compared to the size of our galaxy let alone the universe, it's been going out for 150 years. It's a tiny amount like it's not gone very far right and so if there are aliens out there, unless they're very close to us which is possible, but who knows unless they're very close to us, they haven't noticed it yet you know. It's impossible for them to have seen it because it just doesn't go far enough right, so I think that there's aliens out there. I don't think they've been to Earth yet, and I don't know if they ever will be because it's just so big. it's like yeah trying to find one seashell, one specific seashell in all of the ocean.Jack: Yeah, you know, like I saw this show when I was five. Where did it go, the thing is, the thing I hope for is like just given enough time and enough effort that eventually something will happen where there will be some sort of intersection um or the other the alien species will be so advanced that they'll be able to travel at speeds that we cannot even imagine. Right now, um, you know I mean we've only been you know flight has only been possible for a hundred years. In America, I mean wasn't it the Wright Brothers who invented the airplane only 100 years ago.Kevin: Just over.Jack: Yeah yeah or just over 100 years ago, so the fact that we now have um you know little airplanes like Cessnas that can fly all over the place. We have giant jumbo jets that can transport hundreds of people.Kevin: To the moon.Jack: Yeah, then we can go to the moon. Um, it's really, it's amazing to think about what we've accomplished in just a hundred years so. If I fast forward two or three hundred years um, it makes me wonder if we're not going to, it just seems inevitable to me, like I just think that there will be we will at some point we find out that there is intelligent life but like you said, the ability for us to meet is so difficult because the distances are just, that's so incredible, but it's ridiculous yeah, the fact that space seems to go on infinitely makes me think there just have to be other places that are habitable for either human beings or other species of life form and so that's yeahKevin: There's two interesting thoughts about that that could take us a long time, but let's not do too long. One you said other species, other types of life, that's a very interesting one. Like for what we know, all life needs water for example right? But it's possible that there's some other crazy life that we can't even imagine that doesn't even need water out there, so maybe we're looking in the wrong place. But just to finish up, I've got one final question that to take this assuming that there is intelligent you know super advanced aliens out there Jack and assuming that eventually we will contact them do you think they'll be friendly? Jack: You know that's a good question. Again, I'm on the fence about this one. Uh I'm not sure if they look at what we're doing to our planet, the way we destroy our planet and the way we treat our planet so poorly. I wonder if they you know will look at us and say why are you not taking care of your planet um right? You know or the other side of that issue is maybe they did the same thing to their planet and they want to take our planet and use it for themselves, and so we become a lower species on the uh totem pole uh and so we become kind of working for them. So, it's kind of scary. I don't know what you know in the movies the aliens usually are the bad guys you know. They're coming to take our resources and they're coming to uh you know strip our planet of its of its natural resources and stuff like that and uh I prefer the other uh version where aliens just want to communicate with us and understand us and it's more like a they're just seeking information about the planetary systems and they come across Earth and they see human beings and they appreciate us for what we are you know um so we can we can only hope that they will be friendly because if they're more advanced than us, then if they're not friendly, we're in trouble.Kevin: Exactly, exactly. That's right, that's right all right well, yeah, I hope that they're friendly and let's see what happens. At least we do have some friendly people that we talk to in our chat room every day so have we got any listener mail.Jack: Um, yes, we want to talk to you today. We have some listener mail and I would like to talk about uh phobias. S, this one is from, let me see here, Layla. And Layla was talking about her phobias and she has a phobia of escalators which is interesting um and she says as soon as she, yeah, she says as soon as she thinks about escalators, her heart starts beating so fast And she says uh fortunately she has outgrown this phobia. Or at least she has tried to, I think. She's still, there's still a little bit of the phobia there, and uh she says in Dubai there are a number uh a big number of malls and they all have escalators and uh so she uses the stairs to go to the next floor the first floor the second floor and so uh or sometimes she says her sister-in-law will help her by holding her hands so that's the uh that's uh Layla's phobia. Yeah, so thanks for thank you for sharing that Layla.Kevin: Cool, all right well thanks everybody for listening, and we'll come back and talk to you more about aliens next time. Remember to check our webpage and our Whatsapp group for you to join in the discussion all right.Jack: Bye, bye. Key Words: Universe: all existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos Bacteria: Microscopic single-celled organisms Expanse: the distance to which something expands or can be expanded. Making Connections by Communicating from the Brain [Topic: Making Connections by Communicating from the Brain] HOST: Here's something we all know: how we act toward others – how approachable, authentic, and interested we are – makes a huge difference when we communicate. We know that, but it can be tough to put it into practice. Like in situations where you're talking to people you've never met before – new clients, say, or industry colleagues. [Sofia and Jack are in a meeting.] SOFIA: It's about inclusion. It's about approachability. JACK: All right. SOFIA: Let's role play. Say we've never met. We're at a…oh, I don't know…a trade show. You're a big presenter and I'm a client. Everyone knows you and I should be trying to impress you. JACK: Okay. [Jack is listening closely to what Sofia is saying.] SOFIA: Hi, I'm Sofia. JACK: Jack Doyle, [Sofia and Jack shake hands.] happy to… (EXCITEDLY) SOFIA: Check it out…isn't that the keynote guy? JACK: …meet you. [Jack is confused.] (OFFHANDEDLY) SOFIA: And you're here because… JACK: I'm presenting. In the main tent. SOFIA: Oh…right. [Sofia is unimpressed.] Not good, right? JACK: Hey. I get it. HOST: We're social beings, right? We like to get along. To be included. It's actually how are brains are wired. Not to oversimplify, but the human brain is essentially split into two parts – a "new" brain and an "old" brain. The "old" brain is what's left over from before we were as highly evolved as we are now – or as evolved as we think we are. But when someone ignores us, talks over us, appears angry, or shouts at us…you know that knee-jerk response you get that you can't control? That's the "old" brain, or amygdala, being triggered. When it's in charge, we typically don't communicate well. We're disorganized, we're acting on impulse. Then there's the "newer" part of our brain. This part, technically called the prefrontal cortex, is activated when someone is friendly towards us, when we pick up on positivity, when someone makes us feel liked, or that we can trust them. When this part of the brain is in charge, we want to engage with others, connect, discover. And we're able to do so using what scientists call our "executive" communication skills – organizing our thoughts, waiting our turn to talk, retaining information, and regulating our emotions. So when we communicate, there's a lot going on behind the scenes. And if you want to be liked, to get along, to make yourself understood, you need to behave in a way that stimulates the "new" brain, not the old. You want to encourage inclusion and be approachable. We all want to be approachable, right? But you can't tap into someone's brain directly, so you need to start off right. Make eye contact, and smile. Then you can show an interest and empathize with the other person. If you do, chances are the other person will appreciate the effort. And they may even subconsciously "mirror" your actions, which helps connection along. Empathy and caring. They go a long way towards helping us feel we belong. [Back to Sofia and Jack.] (ENTHUSIASTICALLY) SOFIA: Hey, Jack – great presentation. JACK: Glad you liked it! [Jack is pleased.]

Welcome, Good Monday morning, everybody. Craig Peterson here. I was on with Jack Heath this morning. We talked about an article that Jack posted on Facebook about a Chinese National working for an American Military Contractor who gave our Military Secrets to China. Here we go with Jack. These and more tech tips, news, and updates visit - CraigPeterson.com --- Automated Machine Transcript: Craig Taking a laptop, even if you are not a Chinese spy, to China is has a high probability that information on that laptop disappears while you're over there. Craig Hey, good morning, everybody. Craig Peterson here. This morning Jack wrote about an article on Facebook about what's been happening here in New England with Chinese infiltration and spying on military companies and contractors. We got into it this morning. Here we go. Jack Heath On top of the lack of social technology, getting US pictures out of places like you know where the host city you have China, basically muscling technology and stealing it allegedly from us. You look at this 10-year engineer, Chinese born American who was just picked up over the weekend by the FBI for allegedly taking his secure Raytheon laptop to China on a trip last year. It is a federal offense for someone with high-security clearance to take technology capable of accessing things like our weapon system technology out of the country. Then the Harvard story. Last week, which you haven't heard much more about the professor, one or two professors charged with getting $50,000 a month from a bogus Chinese University, from the Chinese government to recruit and steal intellectual capital from Harvard. Those are big stories, and it shows the dichotomy between the people having access and the government using it to get more technology for the government and stealing our intellectual capital. Some interest there, and maybe a comment on that Craig Peterson joins us live in the author listener lines, our Tech Talk guy, Good morning, Craig. Craig Hey, good morning, jack. Yeah, and the last few months we've got this Chinese Harvard affiliated cancer researcher caught in December with 21 vials Cells stolen from a lab at a Boston hospital. We've got a Chinese Professor conducting surveillance Research at the University of Kansas indicted in August on charges for his ties to Chinese University. We've got a Chinese PLA Lieutenant posing as a student here at Boston University. The fact that she was a lieutenant in the Chinese military. She was a spy and a Chinese scholar. Another at the University of California. The list goes on and on. You talked a little bit, and you posted on Facebook about the Raytheon employee taking a laptop to China. The company told him not only was it against company policy to travel with a company computer that might have some proprietary information on it but was against federal law. And we see this a lot. There's a lot of ignorance out there amongst people who do take laptops with them to China. I've been warning about that for the last ten years because taking a portable computer, even if you are not a Chinese spy, to China presents a high probability of exfiltration of that data from that laptop while you're over there. Now the infiltration of soft targets in the last few years, our universities where Chinese students are coming over. As I mentioned earlier, Chinese military Lieutenants are coming over to universities posing as students and being assigned to research projects and stealing stuff. The federal ITAR requirements are ones we are dealing with all the time with some of our clients. We have military sub-subcontractors that are making things as simple as screws, Jack, and their products ultimately get used in some military system. Many of these companies are not being careful with our data, and it gets stolen. They have no clue that they're exposing all of us to these dangers. Jack Craig, I think you may know, I'm not sure, but I had the benefit of some of the knowledge learned when I was the US Army War College. I'll keep that quiet. One of the things I did learn is when you look at the global threats to our security in a lot of different things, and we're seeing differences right now with China. Everything in the last year or two or four years politically speaking has been Russia, Russia, the Russians, Russia, Russia, you know, you know, Vladimir Putin. However, the real threat is China. When you look at Russia, I'm not saying Russia did not try to metal. I'm not saying they won't try and metal, and they will try and battle and mess up in our elections. But China's looks like a real threat. They are from a technology stealing point of view, one of the businesses but penetrating universities. Raytheon is a pretty secure fourth-largest defense giant, the real stuff, real concern. Craig It is a considerable concern, and you know, we were talking about the military and You know, the, obviously the contractors and what China's doing. But you see what jacks are doing this to our regular businesses. I have a client that came to me, became a client who came to me because, as it turns out, something was weird with his email. When we started looking into it, and I had one of my fire jumper certified guys get into it more, we found Chinese backdoors in their systems that were actively exfiltrating data out. His designs, the ones he developed over his whole lifetime, he was getting ready to retire. Now the Chinese had all of his intellectual property, all the research methods used to make the products, his customer lists, his pricing. That means he gets to compete against his very own designs made by Chinese manufacturers and sold worldwide. His business is out of business, and we're not even talking about the military here. Jack All right Craig Peterson on this Monday morning. Appreciate it. Flirt To Convert II (CFFL 538) Transcript: Jack: Jack Butala with Jill DeWit. Jill: Hey there. Jack: Welcome to the show today. In this episode Jill and I talk about Flirting to Convert. Two. Jill: Two. Where the- Jack: A lot of years ago we did a show called Flirt to Convert. It was really popular because, I think- Jill: It's just funny Jack: they want to hear Jill's take on flirting- Jill: Thanks Jack: to convert, let's just say. Before we get into it, let's take a question posted by one of our members on LandInvestors.com online community. It's free. Jill: Okay. Noam asked, "Hi Everyone. What templates do you chose to work with in order to complete a sale on terms, and where do you get them? For terms deals, I know I need a land contract, promissory note and purchase agreement (is this accurate?) I was going to use Rocket Lawyer or a similar website. Do you recommend going the Rocket Lawyer way? Do you mind sharing your own docs? Do I need to notarize my signature on any of these docs, or only does the buyer? Thank you." Jack: All good questions. Jill: All good questions. Jack: So, the program, the educational program that Jill and I provide on how to flip land which is on LandAcademy.com provides a library of contracts and agreements. They're examples. Jill: So you have all ours right there. Jack: Do you want to use those verbatim? No. You want to put your own twist on it, and make sure that the specific situation is reflected in there. Jill: Right, but the meat's there. Jack: Do you want to use Rocket Lawyer? Yeah, I've heard all kinds of good stuff. I've never pulled agreements down from there, but I'll tell yeah, you're doing the right thing here, asking this question on LandInvestors.com because everybody is- I mean there's people all over our group, hundreds of people that do agreements all the time so, someone's going to have a real good, up-to-date answer. We've been using the same agreements for quite some time, and it works for us. So, you're in the right hands, let's say. Jill: Exactly. Jack: If you have a question, or you want to be on the show, reach out to either one of us on LandInvestors.com. Today's topic, Flirt to Convert, at number two. This is the meat of the show. Jill, I know you have a tremendous amount of experience in sales, even right up to the last 20 seconds. Jill: What the heck? Jack: Me and the kids joke about it. If she's talking, she's selling us something. I don't even know I'm being sold something. Jill: Oh boy. Jack: She's selling me on putting her paja- Jill: We don't have a thing on you. I need to come up with one about you. Jack: She's selling me on putting my pajamas on. Jill: That's hilarious. Jack: She's selling me on what to eat for lunch today. Jill: No. Jack: When they were little. It's a compliment. Jill: No. Thank you. That's just called good parenting. And picking your battles. Jack: That's a good point. When is it sales, and when is it too sales-y, like used car salesmen, or when is it like- Jill: That's a good one. Jack: Or when is it healthy, helpful? Jill: Can I talk now?

Jack Butala: House Flipping v Land Flipping. Every Single month we give away a property for free. It's super simple to qualify. Two simple steps. Leave us your feedback for this podcast on iTunes and number two, get the free ebook at landacademy.com, you don't even have to read it. Thanks for listening. Jack: Jack Butala with Jill DeWit. Jill: Hi. Jack: Welcome to our show, today. In this episode, Jill and I talk about house [inaudible 00:00:06], house flipping versus land flipping and some of the differences and pros and cons. Here's a hint: they're both good. Before we get to it, let's take a question, posted by one of our members on Land Academy's free online community. Jill: Cool. How do I get to that free online community? Jack: LandAcademy.com. Jill: Okay, Chris asked, "What is the significance of capping the assessed value so low?" Chris is obviously in our world, so he knows to ask this question. "Is it not worth it to mail to the higher assessed properties?" Jack: One of the shows we did this week was called Mailer Yield. I think it was yesterday. What mailers yield better results? Jill: Right. Jack: Maybe it was Wednesday. Jill: Mm-hmm (affirmative). Jack: Happy Friday, by the way. Jill: Thank you. Happy Friday. Jack: The significance ... What we teach for beginning people is to take the bottom 20% of the assessed value this. Imagine this. Imagine a county, maybe the county that you live in. Now take all the property in that county, every single property, take out all the commercial real estate. Take out all the houses. Take out all the government owned land. Picture it in your head. Now you're left with vacant property, vacant, unimproved property. Now take all the properties out that aren't five acres, or let's just say we're going to send a mailer in that county of all the vacant property that's between five and eight acres. Jill: Okay. Jack: All right. Now, take the bottom ... They have an assessed value between a million dollars and ten dollars. You want the bottom 20% only, because you want to send letters out that are undervalue, really under value, like 40% of what they're worth, maybe less, so the strike percentage on that lower value property's going to be better. Does that make sense? Jill: Yeah. Jack: This is imperative. If you do not do this, the first time out, and you don't hit your numbers, like we talk about. For every hundred vacant properties that you send out, your going to buy one. For every 2,000 offers you send on houses, you're going to buy one. You will not achieve those percentages if you don't do it in the bottom 20% of assessed value. Jill: Right. Well, like Jack said, you gave a range. You know, am I going to send an offer to someone with a property with a half a million assessed value? No, and offering a couple thousand? That's not realistic. You're being realistic, too. Jack: Five acres in the middle of a city, that's completely unimproved is assessed way differently than five acres in a very rural area. Jill: Exactly. Jack: You want the five acres in the rural area in the beginning. The second part of his question is, "Is it not worth is to mail higher assessed value properties?" Heck, yes. Go ahead anddo that. Your strike percentage is going to be less. I've even done this on accident before ... Jill: It's true. Jack: ... and we bought property. Jill: Yeah, I mean it's true. I have bought property for ... Gosh, the guy paid twenty-something thousand for it, tried to sell it for forty-something thousand for it. I bought it for $1,900. I mean, come on. Jack: That's right. I bought huge acreage properties in really urban areas at our prices. Jill: Accidentally. Jack: When you're a little bit more established in your career, and your real comfortable with the mechanics of buying property and the whole thing, absolutely, start going over to some of the ... Jack Butala: Automate Everything Except Personal Seller Contact. Jill: Hello. Jack: Welcome to our show today. In this episode, Jill and I talk about how to automate everything except personal seller contact, maybe the most important piece of all of this. Before we get started, Jill, let's take a question posted by one of our members on Land Academy's online community support group. Jill: You've got it. Michel asks, I have a 36-acre property the seller agreed to option. I'm going to use the form in the program, our program. As a seller, since it's not actually mine, how do you market it when you get the question from potential buyers who do some research and see the deed is not in your name? Good question. Jack: You're more qualified to answer this than I am. Jill: For starters, you might actually own the property and have owned it for even six months and it still might not show in their name. Jack: The property, it never shows in your name in our business. We sell it so fast, the assessor can't keep up. Jill: Exactly. That's exactly right. Some of the counties, they're faster and some of them are really slow and some just have a system, so don't even worry about that. Jack: Practice a speech. Jill: I just explain it to people and they're good with it. Jack: Give us the speech, Jill. Jill: That's exactly the speech. Jack: Even if you do buy the 36-acre property and then you start marketing it and you own it, it's not going to be in your name for quite some time, sometimes two years. So what's the speech when the buyer says, you don't even own this property. Why are you selling a piece of property that you don't even own? Jill: Like they say that. They don't say that. Jack: You are a crook. Jill: You're so gully. You know what? Jack, maybe that happens to you but it doesn't happen to me. You know how they say it to me? They're like, tell me again in that voice. Jack: Oh my gosh, Jill, you're making me feel uncomfortable. You're making my stomach hurt a little bit. Ooh, talk like that a little more. Jill: Tingly. Jack: Give us a little pillow talk, Jill. Jill: Her's how I explain it. This is really good. Well, Michel, here's why ... Jack: Michel's a guy, by the way. Jill: Yes, it is. Here's why it's not in my name yet. Jack: It would be cool if she was a she, though. Imagine that. I like this even more. Jill: Michel could be a man or a woman the way I do it. Are you a little tingly now? Jack: Man, this is my favorite show so far. Jill: I totally forgot about what the question was. Jack: What is this business that we're in? Jill: I don't know. I'm all tingly. Jack: All kidding aside, you have to have a little speech for this because it comes up a lot. Not a lot. It comes up once in a while, especially when you're new and your internet presence is not like ours. Jill: Do you know what I do? Here's what I really do, for real. In a very nice way, I don't make my person on the other end sound silly or like they're not smart but I say, let me tell you how these assessors work. Some counties are good and some counties are not good. The recorders even ... It can take days, it can take weeks, it can take months. Once you really explain that, it's good. I've never had a person come back to me and say, you need to send me a copy of the recorded deed ahead of time so I know you really own it. Jack: I've never had that either. Jill: They never do that. Once you just explain it, they go, oh, okay, and they move on. Yeah, I just got this. It's awesome. You're getting a great deal and, yeah, it's going to take some time, and by the way,

Before that, let's share something interesting that happened to us lately Jill. Oh, it's me. I'm supposed to say it. Jill: I'm looking at you like, "Wait". Jack: Today is Wednesday and I am so happy to report that I ... Wednesday is the day that I do, what we call around the office, deal-review. It's a chance for our members to schedule calls, and talk to me and say, "Hey. Would you do this deal? I got this deal, I'm thinking about doing it. Should I do it?" Well, there's one ... One of our members, he's now officially our star-member. He has calling me just about every Wednesday to review deals for maybe 2 months. I think, as a member, I think he's 2, maybe 3 months into this with us. He's officially clearing 100,000 dollars a month, cash flow. Jill: That's awesome. Jack: Unbelievable. Jill: Exactly. Jack: I'm not going to ... he said it's okay to disclose his name, I'm not going to do that. Jill: I think it's good if we don't. Jack: We'll put a whole thing together at some point with the calls, and get him directly involved, because we all want to know his secret. Jill: You know it's funny, I know one little thing about this person, is that, we weren't his first encounter with this. He was like a lot of people that have come to us, that have tried other version of what we do. Trying to be investors and learning about the business, but they ran into ... They're missing a lot of the pieces. This person I know came, to us and clearly got ... Now has all the answers, because clearly, now, he's very successful. It's not like the guy's not motivated man, the guy is clearly motivated. Now he's doing what he wants to do and all that. It's really good. Jack: I asked him why he's so successful and some people aren't, and he said, "It's because I have to know ... I have to have the answers to everything. I have to know the why." That's how he put it. Jill: I love it. Jack: W H Y, you know. That really makes a lot of sense. Jill: That's what we do, we help you. That's part of the show. Jack: Yeah, that's what this show is. Jill: Yeah. Jack: Boy, he listens to the show too. He says, "You know what you said on the show last week, this and that." It's amazing. Jill: Good. Jack: I'm super proud of him. Jill: Me too. Jack: All of our members are killing it in their own way, but this just happens to be ... He just figured ... Made this work for him really, really well. I feel like a parent ... it's just weird. Jill: Parental pride. Jack: Yeah, I just feel proud. Jill: It's the same ... It's interesting, you're right. It's the same feeling, and I think it's the most wonderful thing. Jack: Jill, let's take a question posted by one of our members on the Land Academy online environment, community. Jill: Soon to be the Jack and Jill online community. Okay, not that we're going to change it again, but we're going to land on one, I promise. All right. Are you requiring the spouse to sign the purchase agreement, or adding an extra signature line on the new deed? I'm assuming leave the grantor name as Jose 'blank',
