Hour 1 -  Good Monday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Over a one-week period, both Donald Trump and Carter Page saw federal judges dismiss their separate lawsuits alleging improper conduct by the FBI, Hillary Clinton, and others during the Russia collusion investigation. The back-to-back dismissals shine a particularly harsh light on what critics say has become a pattern in the aftermath of the Trump-Russia probe: a lack of accountability. President Biden's DOJ is proposing that a federal judge appoint a Democratic donor and former judge to serve as special master in the Trump Mar-a-Lago investigation. Russian police arrested five people who proposed officials arrest and charge Vladimir Putin with treason for his decision to launch the invasion of Ukraine, which has led to catastrophic outcomes for Russia and its interests. A new book claims that Sen. Mitt Romney urged Joe Biden to run against then President Donald Trump.

Hour 2 -  Good Monday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour:  Twitter announced the expansion of Birdwatch, a fact-checking program the social media platform began testing last year that has contributors flag "misleading" tweets with "notes that provide informative context." The U.S. army is recommending soldiers apply for SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps, to help cover their rising costs from inflation. The anniversary of the tragic 9/11 attacks took place over the weekend. Students on college campuses were asked about 9/11... Nick shares some of their responses.  CNN contributor Dean Obeidallah commemorated the 9/11 terror attacks with several posts equating former President Trump and “MAGA” Republicans with the Islamic terrorists behind the deadly 2001 attacks. Chuck Todd also weighed in on the anniversary of September 11th... “We're now as a nation battling a threat from within. Is the threat equal or greater than what we faced after 9/11?” A reporter tried to compel a Las Vegas sheriff to condemn former President Donald Trump after police arrested a local Democrat politician for the murder of an investigative journalist.

Hour 3 -  Good Monday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: The surge in migrant drownings in Eagle Pass has "overwhelmed" local mortuaries and funeral homes, requiring the border town's fire department to request refrigerators to store bodies. Meanwhile, VP Harris is claiming that the border is secure. South Carolina Democrats are calling on Senate nominee Krystle Matthews to suspend her campaign following the publication of a rant in which she claimed that white voters should be treated “like shit.” The Springfield News-Leader has a story that claims that Rep. Billy Long attended a same-sex wedding shower, and in the middle of it told his wife that "he couldn't be seen here," and that "he needed to leave." Nick reads through the story and shares his thoughts.

Now, here’s what you may have missed over the weekend: https://fox8.com/sports/transgender-kids-can-be-considered-to-play-girls-sports-in-utah-after-ruling/ Transgender kids can be considered to play girls sports in Utah after ruling Transgender girls in Utah will be given the opportunity to participate in girls’ sports as the school year begins, after a judge on Friday reversed a ban pending legal challenges from parents. Instead of an outright ban, transgender girls will now be sent before a commission that will determine on a case-by-case basis if their participation compromises fairness. Utah’s Republican lawmakers created the commission in a law passed earlier this year as a fallback plan to be implemented in case of an injunction against the law. Under the law, the panel will be allowed to ask for and assess the child’s height and weight in making decisions about whether a transgender girl would have an unfair advantage. The commission, which is set to be convened in the coming weeks, will include politically appointed experts from athletics and medicine. When proposed, the commission was criticized by advocates for transgender student-athletes — who worried they would feel targeted having their bodies measured — and proponents of an outright ban, who argued it didn’t go far enough. The commission is set to go into effect while the court weighs the legal challenge to the outright ban. Members have not yet been appointed but will be in the coming weeks, legislative leaders said. The state’s association overseeing more than 80,000 students playing high school sports has said only one transgender girl competed in their leagues last year and, with school sports already underway, it’s unclear how many will go before the commission and when its decisions will take effect. Utah’s ruling marked the latest court development in a nationwide debate over how to navigate the flashpoint issue. At least 12 Republican-led states — including Utah — have passed laws banning transgender women or girls in sports based on the premise it gives them an unfair competitive advantage. Transgender rights advocates counter the rules aren’t just about sports, but another way to demean and attack transgender youth. Similar cases are underway in states such as Idaho, West Virginia and Indiana. Utah’s ban took effect in July after its Republican-supermajority Legislature overrode a veto by Gov. Spencer Cox, also a Republican. The transgender girls and the parents filed the lawsuit last May, contending the ban violates the Utah Constitution’s guarantees of equal rights and due process. Utah state Sen. Stuart Adams, a Republican, said in a statement Friday that the commission that will now make decisions in a way “to protect equitable and safe competition while preserving the integrity of women’s sports.” The commission will include a medical data statistician, a physician with experience about “gender identity healthcare”, a sports physiologist, mental health professional, collegiate athletic trainer, representative of an athletic association and a rotating member who is a coach or official in the sport relevant to each case. Minter said he hopes the commission will act merely as a safety net, with the presumption being that transgender girls can play unless there is an obvious issue of competitive fairness. https://thepostmillennial.com/principal-calls-police-on-4-year-old-who-refuses-to-wear-face-mask?utm_campaign=64487 Principal calls police on 4-year-old who refuses to wear face mask A California father is calling for change after police escorted him and his son, 4, from school property for attempting to drop his son off without a mask. The father, who is only identified as Shawn by the Daily Mail, was confronted by local police on Thursday at Theuerkauf Elementary School in Mountain View, a city in Silicon Valley. In a video recorded by Shawn, the little boy is maskless and being escorted from school by a staff member. https://twitter.com/i/status/1560413879888257025 - Play Video The seven-day rolling average for positive COVID cases in the area, which is one of the most affluent in the nation, is 544, significantly down from the peak of 5,127, reported Daily Mail. On Friday, the day after the incident, Mountain View Whisman School District changed its policy, in accordance with a new CDC guideline. The students at their nine elementary and two middle schools are now no longer required to wear face masks. However, Shawn claims the mask mandates have not gone away for good because the rule could be easily reinstated. "They have not rescinded the policy," he explained. "Ultimately what we are trying to do is get parental choice or parental opt out." According to the disgruntled father, the district's policy on masking is a week-by-week on/off switch. Shawn said he and his wife believe their son may have special needs. He also said the son has never worn a face mask before. When he was asked to at routine doctor's visits, he became distressed. To help ease the transition into school, Shawn said he began voicing his concerns about mandatory masks to Mountain View Whisman School District in the spring, but the superintendent was unresponsive. "They told me to force it on him," Shawn told Daily Mail. "They are basically telling me to assault and batter my son." I sympathize with the father, but I also put the blame on him… get your kid out of public school. End of story. Perhaps this is the Lord opening his eyes to the issue? According to 19 House Republicans, President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security is planning on using hard-earned taxpayer money to fund the transportation of illegal aliens from the border to cross into the country. The House Transportation Committee blames Biden's urgent need to end Title 42 for the massive spike of illegals crossing the border, inciting GOP members to heighten the need to expose the president's plans. In a letter to Amtrak officials, Republicans cautioned that Biden may use their transportation services for processing if immigration checkpoints are inundated with new arrivals, furthering the crisis at the border. "We are concerned about the impact that a significantly greater border surge could cause to your services and the potential use of Amtrak in the Administration's response to its self-created border crisis," the letter reads. "Such a situation would cause disruptions for Amtrak customers as well as interrupt freight traffic that could further exacerbate the supply chain crisis…would also constitute an unconscionable use of significant amounts of taxpayer funds and resources to aid in the vast movement of illegal migrants into American communities," the letter continued. The Republicans said they are "deeply concerned" that Amtrak's resources will be used to move undocumented people. "We are deeply concerned that Amtrak's resources – especially those supporting the Sunset Limited route – will be used to transport these undocumented persons. Such a situation would cause disruptions for Amtrak customers as well as interrupt freight traffic that could further exacerbate the supply chain crisis. Such actions would also constitute an unconscionable use of significant amounts of taxpayer funds and resources to aid in the vast movement of illegal migrants into American communities," the GOP members' letter said. The Customs Border and Protection (CBP) announced earlier this week that nearly 200,000 illegal migrants have entered the U.S. in July alone, taking the total so far this fiscal year to 1.946 million encounters. https://www.theepochtimes.com/4-9-million-illegal-aliens-crossed-us-border-in-18-months-since-biden-took-office-report_4678365.html?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=BonginoReport 4.9 Million Illegal Aliens Crossed US Border in 18 Months Since Biden Took Office Nearly 5 million illegal immigrants have crossed U.S. borders in the 18 months since President Joe Biden took office, according to a new report. A total of 4.9 million illegal aliens, including some 900,000 “gotaways” who evaded apprehension and have since disappeared into American communities, have entered the country by the end of July, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said in a statement on Aug. 16. “Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities,” FAIR President Dan Stein said in the press release. He blamed Biden for putting the unprecedented surge down to external factors, not the administration’s own “sabotage” of immigration laws. After rolling back key Trump-era policies, Biden presided over the largest number of apprehensions of illegal immigrants at the U.S.–Mexico border in a calendar year in history, recording almost 1.9 million arrests last year. https://www.boundingintosports.com/2022/08/dwyane-wade-files-to-legally-change-the-name-of-his-son-in-order-to-conform-with-gender-identity/ Dwyane Wade Files To Legally Change The Name Of His Son In Order “To Conform With Gender Identity” The Blast reports they obtained the legal documents noting that Wade wants his 15-year-old son’s name legally changed from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade. The documents purportedly explain the reason for the name change is “to conform with gender identity.” Wade’s ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, who is the mother of Zion, was notified of the decision with The Blast quoting the documents, “Pursuant to the terms of the Final Custody Judgment, (Wade) has full authority to make decisions on behalf of the petitioning minor, and he is not required to receive consent from Ms. Funches-Wade. As a courtesy, Ms. Funches-Wade has received notice of this petition.” Wade claimed his son believed he was a girl when he was 12-years-old during an appearance on The Ellen Show. Dwyane Wade’s Candid Talk About Supporting His 12-Year-Old's Gender Identity- Play 0:00-2:40 Well there’s the problem… Dwayne Wade has abdicated his role as the father of the home, and is letting his wife and son wear the pants or dress in the family. Wade as the captain has crashed his families ship into our cultures insanity, and now his children are paying the price, for his weak, and effeminate leadership. Wade also wrote in a now deleted Instagram Post, “Everyone allow her to re-introduce herself, her name is Zaya Wade! Last night was Zaya’s first red carpet and we couldn’t have been prouder of how she handled the questions that were asked of her.” Heartbreaking stuff. Wade thinks he’s helping his son by supporting his gender dysphoria, but if you ask me, he’s just guaranteed that his son is going to despise his father in the long run. Now, here’s what you may have missed over the weekend: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/idaho-supreme-court-abortion-bans-will-be-allowed-challenges Idaho Supreme Court: Abortion bans will be allowed to take effect amid challenges The Idaho Supreme Court ruled Friday that strict abortion bans will be allowed to take effect. The ruling comes as legal challenges over the laws continue and the court sped up the timeline for lawsuits to be decided. Two justices agreed with expediting the cases, but noted that they felt laws should not be enforced until the legal process has been completed. A doctor and a regional Planned Parenthood sued Idaho over three anti-abortion laws. The Justice Department is also suing Idaho in federal court over a near-total abortion ban; the judge has not yet ruled in that case. The state Supreme Court's ruling means that potential relatives of an embryo or fetus can now sue abortion providers over procedures done after six weeks of gestation and another stricter ban criminalizing all abortions is slated for later in August. Potential relatives can sue for up to $20,000 within four years of an abortion. On Aug. 25, per the Idaho Supreme Court's decision, a near-total criminalizing of all abortions – still allowing doctors to defend themselves at trial by claiming the abortion was done to save the pregnant person’s life – will take effect. Planned Parenthood has also sued over a third ban that criminalizes abortions done after six weeks of gestation except in cases where it was needed to save a pregnant person’s life or done because of rape or incest. That law was written to take effect on Aug. 19. The Supreme Court said the plaintiffs both failed to show that allowing enforcement of the laws would cause "irreparable harm" and that there was not enough evidence that they had a "clear right" to a remedy. This ruling comes as other states face similar challenges following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. In nearby Wyoming, a judge blocked the state's near-total ban on Wednesday. The Louisiana Supreme Court on Friday denied an appeal filed by plaintiffs, allowing the ban there to stay in effect. In Kansas, the elections director said the state would go along with a request for a hand recount of votes from every county after last week's decisive statewide vote affirming abortion rights. https://hotair.com/karen-townsend/2022/08/13/monkeypox-is-getting-a-new-name-because-the-who-says-the-name-is-racist-n489435 Monkeypox is getting a new name because the WHO says the name is racist Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, met with scientists this week to discuss best naming practices for diseases. The focus is to avoid offending any “ethnic, social, or professional groups and minimize harm to trade, travel, tourism, or animals.” Monkeypox is at the top of the agenda to receive a new name. Two clades (variants) of the disease have already been given new names. The WHO released a statement on Friday announcing the new names of two variants of monkeypox. Using Roman numerals instead of geographic areas, the Congo Basin variant is now Clade one or 1 and the West Africa clade is Clade two or II. This is to avoid stigmatization. Is all of this political correctness run amok? It looks like it. Who are they afraid of offending? Monkeys? Africans from the Congo or West Africa? Other diseases are named using geographic locations and they aren’t being renamed. It’s like the coronavirus that came from Wuhan, China. No one was supposed to call it the Wuhan virus because it might offend Communist Chinese leaders. Monkeypox has been around since 1958. The world’s population has managed to live with that name since then. It was a commonsense name at the time – research monkeys in Denmark were observed to have a pox-like disease. Monkeys are not thought to be the animal reservoir. Now that it is spreading globally and health experts are beginning to panic, calling it a health emergency, suddenly the virus needs a new name. The WHO declared the disease an international emergency in July. The U.S. declared its epidemic a national emergency this month. Before that, back in May, Sleepy Joe was pushing the panic button and telling Americans that “everybody” should be concerned about monkeypox. The first human case of monkeypox was reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1970, thus the name of that variant. The WHO is now reporting that it held an open forum to discuss a name change for the disease after a group of 30 scientists from Africa warned of an “urgent need” to change the name. It has a stigmatizing potential, they said. The virus has been reported in several other African countries and abroad. The Western outbreak began in May in the U.K., Portugal, and Spain. It has spread to the U.S., Canada, France, and Germany. Scientists are concerned about racist connotations and also stigma for the LGBTQ community. There have also been attacks on and poisoning of monkeys. I think there is an urgent need to alert gay men of how monkeypox spreads. Outside of Africa, 98% of cases are men who have sex with men. There is a limited global supply of vaccines. Health officials are rushing to stop monkeypox from becoming entrenched as a new disease. There’s been a lot of tippy-toeing around that fact out of fear of offending gay men. It isn’t exclusively gay men, it’s also bisexual men who have sex with women. Anyone can get it. Even children can get monkeypox from skin-to-skin contact. It is, however, stoppable. Scientists know how it is spread and how to stop it. If Team Biden has declared monkeypox a national emergency, why hasn’t he ramped up vaccine production. There’s a shortage. The longer the virus hangs around and spreads, the more likely it produces variants, like what happened during the coronavirus pandemic. It gets more contagious. The Biden administration continues to prove how inept it is in dealing with emergencies. Where are the public service announcements targeting the communities most at risk? Biden seems to be asleep at the wheel once again. Call the virus anything they want, more education and outreach is needed. Treat it like other STDs. Don’t ignore it and hope it goes away. Name changes are just window dressing, politically correct window dressing. The hospital’s licensed capacity is 413 but has more than 560 inpatients, meaning that capacity is over 130 percent. Other area hospitals report ready and willing to work with the medical center which all said they could "surge" to accommodate additional patients. According to a release from the hospital, there are also over 100 patients who are waiting to be discharged. Harborview CEO Sommer Kleweno Walley said, "Given the unique position Harborview has in the community as the level 1 trauma center, as the disaster center, and here for all critical illness, we had to make a very difficult decision today - one that has been weighing on our minds as UW Medicine leadership." "In order to ensure that we maintain our critical capacity for any type of trauma that is needed in our region and for any type of critical illness, we have moved to going on what we call 'basic life support divert.' Patients not in need of more urgent care will be needed to be taken care of and brought by ambulances to other hospitals surrounding Harborview in the area. Harborview for this time period will no longer be able to take care of the less acute patients in order to maintain our capacity." "In order to ensure that we maintain our critical capacity for any type of trauma that is needed in our region and for any type of critical illness, we have moved to going on what we call basic life support divert," Walley said. Dr. Steve Mitchell, acting medical director of Harborview Medical Center, said "What has been happening is that when ambulances arrive at Emergency Departments, they are unable to offload patients into beds inside the Emergency Department and they're having to wait for longer and longer periods of time, sometimes for hours, which is then impacting their ability to serve their communities for emergencies when they occur." According to an internal email obtained by the Postmillenial: "Harborview is currently at 130% capacity. Factors include the lack of staffing at nursing/rehab facilities that would normally receive patients needing that level of care. That is creating a backlog of patients in the emergency department, impacting Harborview’s ability to receive additional non-critical patients." Medical facilities in Washington state have been suffering from a staffing crisis following a Covid vaccine mandate that was enacted by Democrat Governor Jay Inslee for state and hospital workers. Earlier this week, the Yakima Board of Health sent a letter to Inslee asking him to rescind the vaccine mandate. County Commissioner Amanda McKinney criticized Proclamation 21-14.5, which requires employees, volunteers, and contractors for state agencies, schools, and health care organizations to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Last Friday, Inslee removed the requirement for boosters but left the vaccine mandate in place following negotiations with labor unions. According to a survey conducted by the Washington State Hospital Association this year, hospitals in the state suffered a net loss of about $929 million in the first three months of 2022, due in part to high inflation and labor shortages, which have resulted in labor, drug and supply cost increasing faster than payment rates. https://nypost.com/2022/08/12/fernando-tatis-jr-suspended-80-games-for-violating-mlb-ped-policy/ Fernando Tatis Jr. suspended 80 games for violating MLB PED policy The Padres will be without Fernando Tatis Jr. for the rest of the season. Tatis Jr. tested positive for Clostebol, and will be suspended for 80 games. The news of the suspension was first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan. “I’ve been informed by Major League Baseball that a test sample I submitted returned a positive result for Clostebol, a banned substance,” Tatis Jr. said in a statement, through the MLBPA. “It turns out that I inadvertently took a medication to treat ringworm that contained Clostebol. I should have used the resources available to me in order to ensure that no banned substances were in what I took. I failed to do so. “I want to apologize to Peter, AJ, the entire Padres organization, my teammates, Major League Baseball, and fans everywhere for my mistake. I have no excuse for my error, and I would never do anything to cheat or disrespect the game I love.” The 23-year-old phenom had missed the entire season due to a fractured wrist but had been expected to return soon. This is a blow to the Padres, who went all in trading a haul of highly-ranked prospects to the Nationals for superstar outfielder Juan Soto and formidable first baseman Josh Bell. The Padres are 63-51. While they trail the Dodgers by 16 games in the NL West, they would qualify for the postseason as a Wild Card team if the playoffs started today. Tatis Jr. signed a 14-year, $340 million contract with the Padres last February. This has been your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief. If you liked the show, hit that share button down below. Wade. In a special session Saturday, the State Senate passed Senate Bill 1, which bans abortions from the moment of conception. The bill classifies abortion as a felony, although it makes exceptions for rape and incest, and to protect the life of the mother. The bill also empowers the state attorney general to prosecute abortion cases at a county level if a county prosecutor categorically refuses to prosecute abortions. The bill narrowly passed the Senate, 26-20. The bill prohibits all abortions, with few exceptions. First, an abortion is legal if “[t]he physician determines, based on reasonable medical judgment, that an abortion is necessary to prevent a substantial permanent impairment of the life of the pregnant woman.” If a pregnant woman is less than 16 years old, an abortion is legal if the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest, and the gestational age of the unborn child is less than 12 weeks. If a pregnant woman is at least 16, an abortion is legal if the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest, and if the unborn child is less than eight weeks old. In both cases, the pregnant woman must provide the physician “with a notarized affidavit, signed by the woman under penalties of perjury, attesting to the rape or incest. The physician shall place the affidavit in the woman’s permanent health record,” the bill states. The bill also provides an exception in cases “where the fetus suffers from an irremediable medical condition that is incompatible with sustained life outside the womb, regardless of when the child is born.” For abortions covered under these exceptions, an abortion is only lawful if it is performed by a licensed doctor, at a hospital or a surgical center; if the abortion is performed by an abortifacient drug, the patient must take the drug in the presence of the physician, who must perform an exam and inform the patient about the drug. The woman must consent to the abortion, unless the abortion is for the life of the mother. The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 26-20; 26 Republicans voted for the bill, while 10 Republicans joined Democrats voting against it. According to the Indianapolis Star, opposition to the bill was split: moderates voted against the bill because they thought it went too far; more conservative senators voted against the bill because it did not go far enough. Hey some other positive pro-life news: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/07/30/west-virginia-lawmakers-advance-strict-abortion-bill-wake-roe-reversal/ West Virginia Lawmakers Advance Strict Abortion Bill in Wake of Roe Reversal House Delegates in West Virginia have advanced a bill to the state Senate that puts restrictions on abortion in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade’s federal protection of the procedure. House Bill 302 is slated to be taken up in the upper chamber as early as Friday, according to the West Virginia Metro News: House Bill 302 encompasses a range of abortion policies, eliminating any period after conception for a choice to end pregnancy. In recent years, West Virginia law had allowed abortion up to 22 weeks of gestation. The bill maintains criminal penalties of three to 10 years of incarceration for medical providers who perform abortions — the main provision of a law from the 1800s that had been inactive while Roe was observed — but specifies that the pregnant woman would not be charged. The bill allows exceptions for a nonmedically viable fetus, an ectopic pregnancy, which is when a fertilized egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus, or a medical emergency, which is defined as a condition that requires an immediate abortion to avert the patient’s death or to avoid serious risk of damage to a major bodily function. The bill specifies several things that are not considered an abortion: a miscarriage, a stillbirth, use of established cell lines derived from aborted human embryos, treatment by a licensed medical provider that accidentally terminates or severely injures the fetus and in vitro fertilization. https://thefederalist.com/2022/07/29/pay-attention-to-the-dutch-farmer-protests-because-america-is-next/ Pay Attention To The Dutch Farmer Protests Because America Is Next Americans should start paying closer attention to the ongoing farmer protests in the Netherlands, which this week transformed long swaths of Dutch highways into what looked like a post-apocalyptic warzone: roadside fires raging out of control, manure and farming detritus heaped across highways, traffic stalled for miles, and massive protests across the country in support of the farmers. Why is the Netherlands, of all places, experiencing such unrest? Americans need to understand what’s happening over there because the ruinous climate policies that triggered these protests are precisely what President Joe Biden and the Democrats have in mind for the United States. Specifically, Dutch farmers are protesting a government plan to cut fertilizer use and reduce livestock numbers so drastically that it will force many farms out of business. Earlier this month, farmers used tractors and trucks to block highways and entrances to food distribution centers across the country, saying their livelihood and way of life are being targeted by the government. And they more or less are. The ruling coalition government claims its radical plan, pushed by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who branded the protests “unacceptable,” is part of an “unavoidable transition” to improve air, land, and water quality. The goal is to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide and ammonia, which are produced by livestock but which the government is labeling “pollutants,” by 50 percent nationwide by the year 2030. The only way to do that, many Dutch farmers say, is to slaughter the vast majority of their livestock and shutter their farms. The government knows this and admitted as much earlier this year, saying in a statement, “The honest message … is that not all farmers can continue their business,” and that farmers have three options: “Becoming more sustainable, relocating or ending their business.” Last year, Rutte spoke to the World Economic Forum about “transforming food systems and land use” at Davos Agenda Week, announcing that the Netherlands would host something called the “Global Coordinating Secretariat of the World Economic Food Innovation Hubs,” whose job would be to “connect all other food innovation hubs.” In Davos-speak, that means agricultural production and the supply of food will be centrally controlled by intra-governmental bodies and “stakeholders” consisting mainly of the world’s largest food corporations and international NGOs. Private farms and independent farmers will be a thing of the past, supplanted by global bodies making decisions about how much and what kinds of food are produced. The private sector and the independent farmers will have no place in the future that the UN and the WEF are planning. Dutch farmers understand this. They know Rutte and his ministers want above all to eradicate their farms and way of life. But they’re not going down without a fight. All of which brings us back to the U.S. This week news broke that congressional Democrats had finally reached a deal on the largest piece of climate legislation in American history. The bill is a tax-and-spend cornucopia of some $369 billion for wind, solar, geothermal, battery, and other industries over the next decade, along with generous subsidies for electric vehicles and incentives to keep nuclear plants open and capture emissions from industrial plants. After pretending to oppose Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s climate legislation, West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin relented this week, clearing the way for the bill to proceed. Senate Democrats say the bill will allow the U.S. to cut greenhouse emissions by 40 percent below 2005 levels by 2030 — matching up nicely with the UN’s “Agenda 2030.” Understand that the Senate bill isn’t the end, it’s the beginning. Climate activists and ideologues are working at the highest levels to transform not just the global food supply, but the nature of private property and property rights, all in the name of saving the planet. What Rutte and his government are doing to Dutch farmers, Schumer and Biden are planning to do to American farmers and American industries. So pay attention to the roadside fires and blocked highways and mass civic unrest in places like the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. America is next. The Yuma Morelos Dam Project will close four gaps located within an "incomplete border barrier project" near the dam, the Department of Homeland Security said in a news release. In addition to posing "safety and life hazard risks for migrants," the department said the gaps in the wall presented "life and safety" risks to first responders in the area. Upon taking office, President Joe Biden called for a review of ongoing border wall projects and rescinded the national emergency declaration authorized by his predecessor that allowed then-President Donald Trump to dip into additional funds to build his signature border wall. But DHS said in December it planned to close small gaps in the US-Mexico border wall and make adjustments to prevent flooding and complete prior construction of access roads. Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, who is facing a tough reelection this fall, praised the decision to close the wall gaps. He said in a statement that he first pressed the President to approve the gap closures in December and has had "numerous calls" with the White House and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The Biden administration has been criticized by allies and critics alike over its management of the US southern border. The administration has struggled to handle an influx of migrants coming to the border and lawsuits and infighting have stalled policy changes, which has resulted in more of the same Trump immigration policies. The Supreme Court earlier this month declined to freeze a lower court order that blocked DHS from implementing new immigration enforcement priorities. The court's 5-4 order was a loss for the Biden administration, which is trying to return to Obama-era policies that limit immigration arrests in order to focus on security risks instead of the more aggressive approach taken under the Trump administration. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nba-legend-bill-russell-dead-at-88 NBA legend Bill Russell dead at 88 Bill Russell, one of the greatest basketball players of all time who led the charge on and off the court, has died, his family announced Sunday. He was 88. Russell’s family said in a statement that he passed away "peacefully" with his wife by his side. It was unclear how Russell died. "It is with a very heavy heart we would like to pass along to all of Bill’s friends, fans & followers," the statement started. "Bill Russell, the most prolific winner in American sports history, passed away peacefully today at age 88, with his wife, Jeannie, by his side. Arrangements for his memorial service will be announced soon. "Bill’s two state championships in high school offered a glimmer of the incomparable run of pure team accomplishment to come: twice an NCAA champion; captain of a gold-medal winning US Olympic team; 11 times an NBA champion; and at the helm for two NBA championships as the first Black head coach of any North American professional sports team. "Along the way, Bill earned a string of individual awards that stands unprecedented as it went unmentioned by him. In 2009, the award for the NBA Finals most valuable player was renamed after two-time Hall of Famer as the "Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award." His family said that while his wins on the court were one thing, his accomplishments and his fight in the civil rights movement should also be remembered. "But for all the winning, Bill’s understanding of the struggle is what illuminated his life," the statement read. "From boycotting a 1961 exhibition game to unmask too-long-tolerated discrimination, to leading Mississippi’s first integrated basketball camp in the combustible wake of Medgar [Evers'] assassination, to decades of activism recognized by his receipt of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2010, Bill called out injustice with an unforgiving candor that he intended would disrupt the status quo, and with a powerful example that, though never his humble intention, will forever inspire teamwork, selflessness and thoughtful change. Russell was the No. 2 overall pick of the St. Louis Hawks in the 1956 draft. He was picked behind Si Green, who was chosen by the Rochester Royals, and in front of Jim Paxson Sr., who was selected by the Minneapolis Lakers. Russell would go on to score more points than both players combined. At San Francisco, Russell helped the Dons win two consecutive NCAA titles in 1955 and 1956. He also led Team USA to a gold medal at the 1956 Olympics. Russell was traded to the Hawks on draft day for Cliff Hagan and Ed Macauley. He would continue his dominance in the pros, leading Boston to 11 championships, including a run of eight straight. He led the NBA in rebounds five times and is only one of two players to record at least 50 rebounds in a game. Russell broke the coaching color barrier when he became the first Black NBA head coach in history in 1966. He coached Boston to two NBA championships. He would later coach the Seattle SuperSonics and Sacramento Kings. During his illustrious career, Russell was a 12-time All-star, 11-time NBA champion, five-time MVP and an 11-time All-NBA selection. Good Monday everyone, this is Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief, for Monday, July 25th, 2022. I’m here to bring you your weekly dose of what you may have missed over the weekend. For those keeping count, there have been over 100 attacks against pro-life groups, many carried out by Jane's Revenge since May. Ah yes ladies and gentleman, the side of tolerance and acceptance is at it again! https://thepostmillennial.com/over-100-attacks-against-pro-life-groups-many-carried-out-by-janes-revenge-since-may?utm_campaign=64487 A new report detailed over 100 attacks against pro-life organizations across the country since the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft majority opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case that eventually led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Many of the attacks have been attributed to Jane’s Revenge, a far-left activist group that has claimed responsibility for the violence. Lawmakers called for the group to be designated a terrorist organization. According to articles compiled by the Family Research Council, the "Summer of Rage" across the country has included not only demonstrations in front of the Supreme Court and the homes of justices but also dozens of acts of violence, destruction, and harassment aimed at intimidating anti-abortion conservatives and Christians. Jane’s Revenge took its name from the Jane Collective, a 1960’s pro-abortion group, and has gained support from leftwing activists, especially those in the Madison, Wisconsin area. A homeland security analyst theorized that Jane’s Revenge was a "loose-knit" collection of activists rather than a formal organization. https://twitter.com/i/status/1524749969994883079 - Play Video However, Robert Evans, who first obtained the initial statement from Jane’s Revenge, theorized that the group was aiming to inspire copycats through their tactics and messaging online where the organization has thrived, especially on Twitter. Two days before the first Molotov cocktail attack on Wisconsin Family Action on May 8, 2022, a Facebook page of a group called International Workers of the World (IWW) of Madison Wisconsin posted a history of the Jane Collective. The outlet added that last year, the IWW Madison shared multiple posts promoting violent behavior, including, "a primer on how to fight 'state oppression' by protesting and evading law enforcement." Other activist groups rallied around the attack on Wisconsin Family Action. A group calling themselves Unnamed Autonomous Collective published a statement lauding the attack and calling for more. Let’s change gears for a minute… Remember when Pastor Doug Wilson wrote, Ride Sally Ride, and then not long after, a man actually married a robot not long after his book was released? Well, how about the people who have accused him or condemned him of being friends to pedophiles? On Darren Doan’s show, all my friends are heretics, check it out by the way… Doug mentioned how those very same people, will be friends to pedophiles at some point… https://youtu.be/TEpsoQqfWtk - Play 16:10 - 17:40 well, maybe we’re closer to that than we realized. https://www.metroweekly.com/2018/07/tedx-speaker-argues-that-pedophilia-should-be-accepted-as-an-unchangeable-sexual-orientation/ TEDx speaker argues that pedophilia should be accepted as “an unchangeable sexual orientation” Play Video: https://twitter.com/wheresourlogic/status/1550935543785041921?s=12&t=1k2Nz8xDL3WyU0gDmI6ciw Mirjam Heine presented her talk “Pedophilia is a natural sexual orientation” at the University of Würtzberg in Germany, and said that pedophilia is like any other sexual orientation. While Heine clarified her comments by noting that “abusing children is wrong without any doubt,” she said that a “pedophile who doesn’t abuse children has done nothing wrong.” Well, Jesus mentioned something about committing adultery after llusting after a woman in your heart… Due to the backlash it received, TEDx eventually removed the video, though I’m sure you can find it on Twitter, or Youtube. It may have received backlash now, but nowadays, homosexuality is widely excepted, even by so-called conservatives… 71% in a recent gallup poll if I recall my last newsbrief correctly… FLF Conference Plug: Folks, our upcoming Fight Laugh Feast Conference is just 4-months away from happening in Knoxville TN, October 6-8! In other news, Biden is once again trying to hit an all-time low… this time, with our emergency oil reserve! https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/us-strategic-petroleum-reserve-lowest-level-1985 With Strategic Petroleum Reserve at lowest level since 1985, US sells stockpiled oil to China While U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve stockpiles have fallen to their lowest level since 1985, every congressional Democrat voted Wednesday to continue sending oil from the SPR to China. Supplies have continuously dwindled since President Joe Biden entered office, but they started rapidly declining after Russia invaded Ukraine. In response, Biden sold millions more barrels from the reserves in April. During Biden's first month in office, the U.S. had about 638 million barrels in its reserve. By March, one month into Russia's invasion of Ukraine, reserves had fallen to 565 million barrels, and by July, 480 million barrels were left in the SPR, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. America's reserves have not been so low since June 1985, when the country was still building the SPR. Last week, Biden touted his actions to bring down oil prices. "I've been releasing about 1 million barrels of oil a day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and rallied our global partners to release a combined 240 million barrels of oil onto the market," he tweeted. "Our actions are working, and prices are coming down." While average U.S. gas prices have tapered down from a peak of $5 a gallon — their highest level ever — gas is still significantly more expensive under Biden than under any previous administration, GasBuddy data shows. In response to the dwindling SPR, Rep. David Valadao (R-Calif.) offered a motion in the House last week to "immediately consider legislation that would prohibit the sale of oil drawn from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to entities under the control of the Chinese Communist Party or for export to China," he said in a press release. Every House Democrat voted against his motion. That same day, 19 House Republicans sent a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm demanding to know why her department sold nearly a billion barrels of SPR oil to an American subsidiary of Sinopec, a Chinese company in which Hunter Biden invested heavily. Earlier this month, Republican Senators introduced legislation seeking to stop oil sales to China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. "It's inexplicable that Biden would allow oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to be exported to China," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said at the time. https://www.theepochtimes.com/us-postal-service-set-to-make-40-percent-of-new-mail-trucks-electric_4618365.html?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=BonginoReport US Postal Service Set to Make 40 Percent of New Mail Trucks Electric The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced plans to make at least 40 percent of its new delivery fleet electric. Back in February, the USPS had already said that it would procure 165,000 New Generation Delivery Vehicle (NGDV) trucks from Oshkosh Defense, of which 10 percent would be electric. But in a July 20 news release, the organization announced a new plan to buy 84,500 vehicles, of which 40 percent are estimated to be battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The 84,500 vehicles will include 50,000 NGDVs and 34,500 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) vehicles. Of the 50,000 NGDVs, the minimum BEV percent is set to rise to 50 percent, up from 10 percent. The 34,500 COTS vehicles will be purchased over a two-year period. “The Postal Service reiterates its commitment to the fiscally responsible roll-out of electric-powered vehicles for America’s largest and oldest federal fleet. New NGDVs are expected to start servicing postal routes in late 2023,” the release said. The postal department is anticipating to evaluate and procure more vehicles over shorter time frames so as to be “more responsive” to changing market conditions, technology improvements, and “evolving operational strategy,” USPS stated. USPS’s original decision to buy 165,000 vehicles with 10 percent BEVs had attracted criticism from environmental groups. Sixteen states and several pro-environment groups filed lawsuits seeking to prevent USPS from buying gas-powered vehicles, arguing that such a move would trigger environmental harm for several decades. The push to make USPS adopt electric cars is based on the assumption that electric vehicles are more environmentally-friendly than combustion engine vehicles. Multiple studies have shown this to be false. In a 2018 article for Politico, Jonathan Lesser, the president of Continental Economics, revealed that newer combustion engine vehicles tend to be “really clean” when compared to old ones. “Today’s [combustion engine] vehicles emit only about 1 percent of the pollution than they did in the 1960s, and new innovations continue to improve those engines’ efficiency and cleanliness,” Lesser wrote. After taking into consideration the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s projected number of new electric vehicles, Lesser found that the net reduction in CO2 emissions between 2018 and 2050 will only be “about one-half of one percent of total forecast U.S. energy-related carbon emissions.” This is a change so small that it will have “no impact whatsoever” on climate, Lesser asserts. A 2020 study by Michael Kelly (pdf), the emeritus Prince Philip professor of technology at the University of Cambridge, found that if the UK were to replace all its combustion engine vehicles with electric vehicles, the country will need almost twice the annual global production of cobalt, almost the entire world’s neodymium, over 50 percent of the world’s 2018 copper production, and three-quarters of the global output of lithium carbonate. If all vehicles in the world were to be electrified, it would need such a large output of raw materials that even exceeds the known reserves of these materials. The environmental impact of mining these materials on such a large scale, some of which are toxic, would be massive. The 81-year-old will return to a major league diamond soon, making his first appearance in Philadelphia in August since he was banned from baseball. The sport’s all-time hits leader will be at the Phillies’ alumni weekend and be introduced on the field along with his former teammates from the 1980 World Series championship team on Aug. 7. That team’s shortstop, Larry Bowa, broke the news on Saturday night during the Phillies’ TV broadcast of their game against the Cubs. The Phillies said in a statement that they “received permission from the commissioner’s office” to invite Rose, and the team consulted with Rose’s teammates from the 1980 club and “everyone” wants him there.” In August of 1989, Rose was banned from the game following an investigation that found he bet on the Reds to win several games between 1985-87 while he was their manager. Rose applied for reinstatement in 2015, but it was rejected by commissioner Rob Manfred. It's now been 33 years since Pete Rose accepted a permanent ban for betting on baseball, and it's still one of the most hotly debated topics in all of professional sports. Good Monday ladies and gentleman, this is Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief for Monday, July 18th, 2022. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend with you and yours’, so let’s start this week off right. Here’s what you may have missed over the weekend: https://www.foxnews.com/sports/lia-thomas-nominated-university-pennsylvania-ncaa-woman-year-award Lia Thomas nominated by University of Pennsylvania for NCAA 'Woman of the Year' award The University of Pennsylvania nominated swimmer Lia Thomas for the NCAA "Woman of the Year" award. According to an announcement from the NCAA, the University of Pennsylvania nominated the transgender athlete for the award, which recognizes female student-athletes. "Established in 1991, the award recognizes female student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in their community, in athletics and in academics throughout their college careers," the NCAA nomination page reads. NCAA member schools "are encouraged to celebrate their top graduating female student-athletes by nominating them for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award," the announcement reads. After member schools make their nominations, their conference can then select up to two nominees. Thomas, a former swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania, won the 500-yard freestyle event at the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday. Her participation in college women's swimming has brought on a national debate, with some saying that she has an unfair advantage over other athletes. Riley Gaines, a swimmer at the University of Kentucky who tied with Lia Thomas for fifth place at the NCAA swimming championships, said that a majority of females aren't okay with the trajectory of female sports. "The majority of us female athletes, or females in general, really, are not okay with this, and they're not okay with the trajectory of this and how this is going and how it could end up in a few years," Gaines said on the "Unmuted with Marsha" podcast with Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. She was referring to the NCAA's refusal to change the rules in order to protect competitiveness in female sports. The University of Pennsylvania also nominated Iuliia Bryzgalova for the award, who plays tennis at the school. Hey, speaking of playing dress-up, https://www.foxnews.com/politics/judge-biden-admin-transgender-school-bathroom-athletes Judge blocks Biden admin's transgender school bathroom rule for athletes A federal judge has blocked a directive from President Joe Biden’s administration that allowed transgender workers and students to use school restrooms matching their gender identities. It also allowed transgender athletes to join sports teams corresponding with their chosen genders. The directive was blocked by Judge Charles Atchley Jr. of the Eastern District of Tennessee, a Trump appointee, after a coalition of 20 Republican attorneys general sued last year, Reuters reported. The plaintiffs argued the federal directive clashed with state laws and prevented states from enforcing their own laws that banned transgender school bathroom use. Judge Atchley agreed, saying in his opinion the states "cannot continue regulating pursuant to their state laws while simultaneously complying with Defendants' guidance," Reuters reported. The states also argued the Biden administration's Justice Department, the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission — the defendants in the case — improperly justified the bathroom directive through the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County. In the case, Clayton County fired county employee Gerald Bostock for "unbecoming" behavior after he participated in a gay recreational softball league. The Supreme Court ruled in 2020, that workplace sex discrimination in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 should extend to sexual orientation and gender identity. The high court said in its decision they were not deciding whether "sex-segregated bathrooms, locker rooms, and dress codes' violate Title VII." The department suggested the court’s decision should be applied to sex-segregated bathrooms — but Judge Atchley disagreed. The Supreme Court in Bostock "explicitly refused to decide whether 'sex-segregated bathrooms, locker rooms, and dress codes' violate Title VII," the judge said in his opinion, Reuters reported. Oklahoma Attorney General John O'Connor, who was among the plaintiffs, called the decision "a major victory for women's sports and for the privacy and safety of girls and women in their school bathrooms and locker rooms," per the report. It’s the largest number recorded in a fiscal year in U.S. history. They total 2,002,604 from over 150 countries. In June, a record 207,416 people were apprehended, the highest number recorded in June in the history of the Department of Homeland Security. The total includes those apprehended and encountered by U.S. Border Patrol and Office of Field Operations staff. They exclude gotaways first reported by The Center Square, which includes at least another 50,009 people. The total for June, including gotaways, was 257,425, a record high for the month. “Gotaways” is the official term used by Border Patrol to describe foreign nationals who enter the U.S. illegally and don’t surrender at ports of entry but intentionally seek to evade capture from law enforcement. They are currently in the U.S. and no one in law enforcement knows who or where they are. The last time encounters were nearly this high was the last summer of the presidency of Bill Clinton. In June 2000, 117,469 people were encountered/apprehended at the southern border, excluding gotaways. In May, CBP reported the highest monthly total of apprehensions at the southern border in recorded U.S. history of 239,416, excluding another minimum 70,793 recorded gotaways. In April, CBP reported 235,478 total encounters/apprehensions; in March, 222,239; in February, 165,902; in January, 154,816. The totals all exclude gotaway data. Despite a record number of people coming to the southern border, CBP says it “continues to enforce U.S. immigration law and apply consequences to those without a legal basis to remain in the U.S. “Current restrictions at the U.S. border have not changed; single adults and families encountered at the southwest border will continue to be expelled, where appropriate, under CDC’s Title 42 Order. Those who are not expelled will be processed under the long-standing Title 8 authority and placed into removal proceedings.” But this isn’t what’s happening, Republican governors and attorneys general nationwide argue. This week, 19 AGs filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of a lawsuit filed by Texas and Louisiana. The lawsuit was filed in response to a directive issued by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that drastically altered deportation policy, which the states argue contradicts federal law established by Congress and allows more people to stay in the U.S. illegally, including violent criminals. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis implemented a range of policies to combat what he describes as the “Biden border crisis,” including suing over the Biden administration’s “catch and release” and other programs. Texas and Missouri have sued the administration over several border security issues, including halting border wall construction and reimplementing an Obama-era program allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the country. Texas and Arizona also have implemented a range of border security measures costing their states’ taxpayers a combined multiple billions of dollars to thwart criminal activity stemming from the southern border. And Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says his state’s law enforcement officials have confiscated enough fentanyl to kill nearly every man, woman and child in the U.S., which is brought into Texas illegally from Mexico. GAVIN NEWSOM THREATENS ACTION AGAINST UCLA DUE TO BIG 10 MOVE Gavin Newsom continues to put himself in his favorite place to be; the news. This time he’s making headlines with regards to UCLA’s impending 2024 move out of the Pac-12 Conference to the Big 10. In a recent interview with Fox 11 in Los Angeles, Newsom explained how he heard about UCLA’s decision and his initial reactions to it. He specifically highlighted that UCLA did not give advance notice to the University of California system’s Board of Regents, saying the negotiations were “done in isolation” and without their “oversight or support.” The full quote is even more critical, with Newsom implying he was frustrated with finding out about it in the news like everyone else: Gavin Newsom says UC regents not consulted about UCLA leaving Pac-12- Play 0:20-1:42 For his part, Martin Jarmond, the UCLA Athletic Director, claimed the move was mostly about increasing “exposure” in the NIL era. By opening the school up to potentially more nationally televised games and East Coast markets, Jarmond says they can now provide an enhanced opportunity for student-athletes to find “their voice and their brand and what’s important to them.” But importantly, Newsom also signaled that UCLA might not be able to pack their bags as quickly as expected. During the interview he stated that the Regents have already been “looking into it” with regards to potential options: UCLA has been in deep financial trouble, accruing over $100 million in debt in just the past few years. The Big 10 currently offers significant revenue advantages over the Pac-12 and undoubtedly will allow UCLA to clear up its poor finances more quickly. Whether or not Newsom and the UC Board of Regents will be able to do anything to stop or slow the move remains to be seen. But it’s odd that Newsom is on one hand claiming that he’s a champion of “freedom” in California while doing his best to impede UCLA’s freedom to improve their stature and financial situation. Like many who have fled his state’s managerial incompetence, UCLA has found greener pastures with an organization based elsewhere. Newsom apparently just doesn’t like losing. Newsome is crushing California’s economy so hard, that even his woke universities are making the most of capitalism, in order to find greener pastures… As a football fan, I kind of get it. The Pac-12 has done a poor job of getting the west-coast schools exposure when it comes to televised games… especially because the east coast is already going to be asleep during a lot of the prime time competitions for the Pac-12. Do you really think someone in Eastern time is going to stay up and watch a 3 & a half hour long football game? No thanks.
