This week in anguish: - Has achieved peak irrelevance by recording a 1½ hour audio interpretation of a franchise listlessly circling the drain, entirely unaware that massive, long-overdue changes were a few hours away. - Wait - weren't the Abbotsford Canucks supposed to be good at least? - Ardella has a new Google search term emotional temperature: jokes. - We crunch the numbers on Petey's generosity. - Halcyon Canucks quotes from days when we might have sucked nearly as hard, but we still managed to have fun doing it. - Jason Farris is a very smart man who wrote some ostensibly very smart things about the traits of successful hockey organizations. Unfortunately, everything keeps coming up Bowman in the end. - Wait again - what actually went down around the 2015 firings of Laurence Gilman and Lorne Henning? (Sorry, Eric Crawford.) - 15 years of Canucks' talent evaluation misadventures as exemplified by the top 107 current KHL scoring leaders. - Random insights derived from searching the terms "scott melanby" in the Vancouver Sun and Province archives from 2008-2011. - Francesco told us it would be darkest before the dawn. In the dying moments of the Benning era, Tristan carves out a slice of his hockey heart and gives it to another, adopting the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation as his first ever Team I Am Also Cheering For. - I thought we were playing the Boston Pride later that afternoon. Turned out it was the Minnesota Whitecaps. And we won! This concludes Ep. 0 of This Week in Connecticut. Thanks for listening! This episode supports the Hockey4Youth foundation and HerosHockey.

At its most basic level hyperlocal marketing is the process of attracting and retaining your best customers by targeting a specific geographic niche, such as an area, city, neighborhood, or zip code. By creating great local evergreen content, conversion content, and connection content consistently that answers consumers questions about the community, buying or selling, etc. you'll attract a local audience that builds & grows your business. This week I'm excited to talk to my long-time friend and realtor, Jason Farris. Founder of FresYes Realty and FresYes.com. Jason discusses how he grew his hyperlocal website, FresYes.com, from a small local website to a huge lead magnet with over 29,000 subscribers, as well as how he went from a single agent to a team of 20+ agents handling over 100 transactions per year.Show-notes: 00:00 Introduction5:51 What's your strategy for hyperlocal?13:51 Using your newsletter to build your business20:28 How to take your newsletter and convert it into business23:33 The power of segmenting27:51 Don't lead your newsletters with real estate related topics30:11 Are there any objections from buyers about only being hyperlocal31:25 Don't convince people to buy a home, convince them that you're for the job35:05 Provide nothing but value to your contact list both in your newsletter and in personOther Ways To Listen:Subscribe in iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-weekly-boost/id1506520257Subscribe via Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2nvMtw4gn5qm0Wrv3DqWbMSubscribe via Email: http://www.ricardobueno.com/boost/To connect with Jason:Website: https://www.jasonfarris.meWeb: https://www.fresyes.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JasonJFarrisLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fresyes/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasonjfarris/ To connect with Ricardo Bueno:Website: https://www.ricardobueno.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ribeezie/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ribeezie

Have you ever gone into an interview only to have it flipped around on you entirely and suddenly you're the one on the spot? Us neither, that is until this week when Brennen and Tracy sat down with their coach and mentor Jason Farris! In a surprising move, which is in retrospect not too surprising, Jason completely flipped the script on us and spent the whole time interviewing Brennen and Tracy. Jason Farris was an early adopter of new technologies in the real estate industry and was recently named: "one of the top Video influencers of 2018," by BombBomb. These days he does lots of coaching and consulting helping people (especially small newcomers) in the industry grow their businesses by embracing the added reach of new technology. And he does all this while maintaining his own company FresYes, which employs almost 100 agents. But that's about all you're going to hear about it. Because he did not come to be interviewed but to interview. In case you've been wondering what is going on behind the scenes with Brennen, Tracy, and the rest of the team then this is your chance to get caught up! Spoilers: we are planning some really big stuff for 2021 and if you want to be involved you should probably start reaching out to book your month with us now! Other than that sit back and enjoy a masterclass on how to completely take over a room, or avoid actually being interviewed but like, in a cool way. As always if you have additional questions about the show, or ideas for future guests or topics please feel free to reach out to us. We love to hear from you!
