On Saturday, we witnessed ASU's Leon Marchand break the NCAA record in the 400 IM. Today, we spoke with ASU head coach Bob Bowman to get his thoughts on the matter. On Marchand, Bowman says that the French Phenom reminds him of Michael Phelps in 2003, giving his an anecdote from Leon's practice on Monday. At the end of a 7500 threshold set, Leon looked so good that Bowman told him to let it rip and see what he could go on a 500 free at the end of the practice instead of swimming it threshold as written. Marchand swam 4:18, negative splitting it 2:10/2:08.

Resilience is an important trait to have when facing severe adversity, as demonstrated by Jonathan and Graham's experiences in endurance competitions, military training, and business ventures. However, pushing oneself to extremes can also have consequences and costs. The question is, are you willing to accept those consequences and pay the price? This conversation delves into the concept of being rejection-proof, learning from difficult experiences, and taking action. As Mike Tyson said, "everyone has a plan until I get punched in the mouth." This is especially true in combat situations, where extreme resilience may be necessary, but can also lead to numbing oneself to emotions and feelings, which can be detrimental to one's well-being in civilian life. Through sharing their favourite books on resilience and discussing various topics such as "chunking down," "touching the void," PTSD, and the "snowflake generation," Jonathan and Graham's stress the importance of combining resilience with agility and the ability to bounce back, in order to achieve true anti-fragility. Meet Al Bowman. He started out working in the LA Music Scene owning, and driving limos for such superstars as Whitney Houston, who introduced him into the world of celebrity seat filling. That provided an introduction to such luminaries as Patti LaBelle, Tommy Lee from Motley Crue, The Beach Boys Brian Wilson, and even silver screen star Martha Ray. Through a chain of events, including the 1992 LA Riots, and the emerging grunge rock scene in Hollywood, his focus changed from driving stars, to creating awards shows for stars to walk the red carpet. Enter Bill Gazzarri (“The Godfather of Rock” and the owner of the legendary Sunset Strip rock club "Gazzarri's"), and The honorary mayor of Hollywood Johnny Grant, who became mentors and the inspiration for Al Bowman to begin producing music awards shows in Los Angeles for the independent artist, with the same flair, and fanfare as the big shows provided. Bowman's awards shows included: The Los Angeles Music Awards, Hollywood Fame Awards, Phoenix Music Awards, Producer Choice Honors, and the Las Vegas Fame Awards. Al has now created The Nashville Music Awards, along with creating a non-profit organization called “The Nashville Music Foundation”, providing something to the independent creative community. Al's goal is to inspire the future of music by honoring the past. Bowman explains how a simple act as walking the red carpet at special events, can assist in elevating your exposure on a national, and Global level. So how intelligently are you using your emotions? Graeme and I have a very deep and very personal conversation about the importance of our emotional and social intelligence, and how each of us in our own way have been emotionally constipated. This is probably one of the most deep and open vulnerable conversations the two of us have had in this exciting series. How good are you at atonement, forgiveness, making amends and being at one with somebody? Do you hold resentment, anger or passive aggression? Are you someone who uses a lot of judgement and criticism seeing yourself as one up and grandiose or one down and suffering from shame? We both realise that we both been so damn serious for much of our life and want more joy and happiness. The Hoffman Institute seven day programme was a major topic of conversation. The importance of psychological safety so that you can allow the people who work with you to be appropriately vulnerable was discussed as was the importance of acceptance and understanding for diversity, equality and inclusion. We talked about the regrets of the dying and how perfectionism and high performance has driven both of us. Which self soothing techniques do you use: are you a workaholic are you focused on sex and frequent relationships? Is it alcohol, drugs, success, or something else that is addictive for you? We talked about our parents or grandparents and breaking the generational chain of unhealthy behavioural patterns. Finally, we talk about acceptance, compassion, not being a victim and having forgiveness for yourself and others. To "live, give and forgive" are phases of our lives as we grow up. Also, to remember that "everything in life is possible if you're prepared to pay the price and live with the consequences". Are you? For many of the highly achieving highly performing leaders that we both know there is a certain amount of emotional dysfunction from childhood and more emotional intelligence development will be essential.Good Luck Hosted on Acast. The Sun Devils are No. 1. For the first time in program history, the ASU men's swim and dive team is atop the national rankings. It's yet another sign of the tremendous progress the program has made under head coach Bob Bowman. One of the most accomplished coaches in the sport's history, notably the man who coached Michael Phelps into true GOAT status, Bowman inherited a struggling program and has since built a powerhouse. On this episode, we discuss the significance of the ranking, the process of rebuilding the program, his coaching career, mentoring Michael Phelps and the similarities between him and a current ASU super sophomore, and so much more.
Season 3, episode 33: On this episode, Rob bring on three collectors, that collect very specific types of cards. Marty collects signed 1933 Goudey cards. Sasha collects signed Top 75 NBA players rookie cards, and Tim collects signed 1950 Bowman. Wow. What a conversation.
Stock Up / Stock Down this week is replaced by the Nice & Naughty list in the holiday spirit, and it was led by a pair of greats both reaching their peak performance in an epic World Cup Final. Did Lionel Messi & Kylian Mbappé put on the type of head-to-head performances that can truly inspire collectors to dive into soccer cards? Also, a conversation with PSA President Ryan Hoge, discussing the itch to rip new Bowman releases and some notable changes coming in early 2023 to PSA's grading prices & service offerings. The guys close things out with a round of Not-So-Secret Santa, gifting each other dream pieces for their PCs.
In recent decades, we've seen rapidly increasing rates of infertility, declining sperm counts, and growing health issues. As a collective, we must take a step back and consider all the environmental toxins we're exposing ourselves to. From personal care products like lotions and floss to lawn care compounds and laundry detergent, we're living in a beautiful time where there's a healthy, non-toxic option for almost anything. Unfortunately, many people are still unaware of the huge toxic load the average household is exposed to and the harmful effects of continuing like this. Today I'm joined by holistic nutritionist and healthy living expert Tessa Bowman to talk about how we can make sense of overly confusing labels and shift to a low-toxic lifestyle. Clement Clarke Moore's “A Visit from St. Nicholas” may be the best-known poem in America today. For many it may be the only-known poem besides lyrics to one pop song or another. We are not a poetic people though that was not always true. Americans in the past had a huge appetite for poetry—an appetite we can recover. Of course, Moore's paean to St. Nick is hardly the only Christmas poetry in the world. Christians have been writing poems about the First Coming of Christ as a babe in Bethlehem for two thousand years. As a Christmas gift to you, our listeners, on this podcast Wyoming Catholic College students share from that treasury of Christmas poetry.

Slam the Gavel welcomes back Marineka Bowman to the podcast for an update on her case. Marineka was last on the podcast, Season 3, Episodes 104, 131, 159, 160 and 174. The last time she was on we discussed what took place during an Emergency Ex parte Motion on Monday, December 5th, 2022. Marineka was reached via telephonic conference and the opposing attorney Laura Brooks and Judge Natalie Haskins was worried and concerned that Marineka was, "disparaging the court, herself, the father and the child due to being on podcasts and this will affect the child psychologically." Marineka is concerned for her daughter and as well she should be. A video recording of her daughter singing to her mother is something everyone should hear. It almost takes a sinister undertone when her daughter sings, "if I am gone, wherever I will be, God will protect you..." Child Psychological Abuse is very prevalent in this case and both the Judge and opposing Counsel are proceeding on to give the Father more time even though he had taken off when the child was two-months old. Is this in the "Best Interest of the Child?"To Reach Marineka Bowman: startpositive2019@yahoo.comSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com Support the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://beentheregotout.com/http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/

We all play roles in our day-to-day lives– but we don't always have a choice in them. Roleplaying games, and particularly live action roleplays (aka “LARP”), allow us to reclaim the ability to decide who we're going to be, both within the game and beyond. On today's episode of the FoST Podcast, Dr. Sarah Lynne Bowman shares her learnings on how roleplaying games work and why they're becoming more and more popular. For additional links and more information, visit our website.--© 2022 Future of StoryTelling, Corp.Produced by Future of StoryTelling, Corp.124 West 13th StreetNew York, NY 10011Founder and CEO, Charles MelcherDirector, Carolyn MerrimanAssistant Producer, Madison Brownin collaboration with Charts & LeisureFounder, Jason OberholtzerExecutive Producer, Mike RugnettaEditor, Garrett Crowe Mix and Music, Michael SimonelliWith special thanks to Sarah Lynne Bowman, Bonnie Eldon, Meghal Janardan, Sarah Vitak, Elisabeth March, Michael Bass, Megan Worman, and Laura Cray.
