The week of February 21, 2024 on The Metallica Report… The second installment of two episodes recorded at the band's creative ground zero for over 20 years: Metallica HQ. Steffan and Renée tour the building with one of its longest inhabitants, Jeff Yeager - webmaster, touring photographer/videographer, and network manager. Sprinkled with fun facts and historical context, the group makes its way through the artifact-filled workshop, the infamous Some Kind of Monster kitchen, the former pick-and-pack space (yes, all your merch orders used to ship right out of HQ), the office space, into the corridor that houses four separate rooms for you-know-who. Things wrap up in Studio A, a room that certainly has been transformed many times, but most significantly for the 2020 streaming All Within My Hands benefit concert. As Steff, Renée, and Jeff conclude, something is always happening at Metallica HQ. The Metallica Report - your official, weekly guide for all things Metallica, straight from the source. The Green Divas love food, but don't love food waste. It's a never-ending challenge to keep food from spoiling and being wasted -- at home and in our communities. While we've covered this issue a few times, it was time to update some statistics (to our horror) and revisit and remind ourselves of all the ways we can help mitigate food waste and help those that are hungry. There's a fun Green Dude segment from a few years back from Jeff Yeager, the Ultimate Cheapskate, who has been on a mission to "Save the Giblets!" Also, some relevant advice from another older interview with Jonathan Bloom, who wrote the book, American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It). The book is over a decade old, but his advice is still VERY relevant! Please check out our TikTok @official_greendivas ; of course follow us on instagram @TheGreenDivas ; FaceBook @GreenDivas ; and YouTube
Meet Judy Myers, the nation's oldest competitive barefoot water skier. Judy doesn't look her age, and she doesn't act it either. Find out how standing up on her two bare feet changed her body, opened her mind and put the spark back in her life.
April: spring showers, blossoming daffodils, and everyone's favorite holiday: tax day. Join Cassi and Braeden as they dive into their latest book, The Ultimate Cheapskate's Road Map to True Riches by Jeff Yeager, and hear them chat about the concept of Return on Non-Investment, whether you really have to spend money to make money or if that's just something your stock broker tells you to get you to pay them more, and how this one book changed the way Braeden thought about finances all those years ago. Talking points include: fiscal fasts, the pitfalls of working in vending machine refilling, alphorn closets. Also: our contest continues! Send us a story of how you tried a new thing this year to tryanewpodcast@gmail.com and enter to win a copy of each of the first three books we read for the podcast!

What’s your definition of cheap? Do you think you’re cheap? Is the person you’re living with – cheap? I got into trouble once because I went on ABC news and talked about MY personal definition of cheap versus frugal…To me, being cheap means wasting time and energy to save money, being inconsiderate or rude or harmful in your pursuit of saving money. And as an example I mentioned some forms of extreme couponing. And boy did that get the couponers MAD! I got SO much hate email…! Now, not all couponing is bad. But I know there are people out there who spend hours a day to cut coupons and all they save is $20 or $30. $20 or $30 is not insignificant BUT when you account for all that time and energy and perhaps the fact that you were cutting coupons while your son needed your help with his science project…(I’m making this up!) that perhaps you’re not being frugal. You’re being CHEAP. And if you’re going to hate me for saying that, that’s OK by me! And all of this brings me to TODAY’s guest. Jeff Yeager, dubbed “The Ultimate Cheapskate” by Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today Show, specializes in teaching others how to spend smart in order to spend less and living frugally. He is also an accomplished author of several books on the topic, including “Don’t Throw That Away!” “The Cheapskate Next Door” and “The Ultimate Cheapskate’s Road Map to True Riches”. He hosts The Cheap Life on YouTube which also provides video content about living the good life at a fraction of the cost. If you’re an AARP member, perhaps you may recognize today’s guest as he is one of their saving’s experts.
yup. It seems early, but we want to get a jump on all the holiday fun coming up, including Thanksgiving with ideas for a vegan thanksgiving with Marie Oser, as well as Jeff Yeager's campaign to save the giblets and more great low-stress, low-cost ideas for the holidays.
Jeff Yeager, the Ultimate Cheapskate, called in and talked with us about low-stress, low-cost, thoughtful and green holidays and of course his mission to save the giblets . . .
Great show featuring the Ultimate Cheapskate, Jeff Yeager talking about great ideas for having a cheap, fun and green summer. We also heard from Jenny Bradford, publisher of Conscientious Confusion blog, who reported on the March on Monsanto in Dallas, Texas. Also, a fun DIY with GD Mizar - making tiki torches out of old beer bottles!
A lively episode featuring an interview with Jeff Yeager, author of the Ultimate Cheapskate about being green and frugal this holiday season. Also a lot more about last-minute, sustsainable, creative and easy holiday gift and decorating ideas. Sleeping Naked is Green segment was all about buying in bulk - why should we and how to do it.

Segment A: Bargains For many, the economic downturn has meant cutting back on luxuries, but there are ways to save and indulge simultaneously.
