Why do men share their sex tapes? We've been reading the headlines recently about NRL players who are allegedly sharing them almost daily on WhatsApp but they're not the only (and certainly not the first) sporting team or group of men who have been outed for sharing women this way. Today we speak with NRL Gender Advisor Professor Catharine Lumby who is trying to make this kind of behaviour a thing of the past and we hear from a woman who says team sharing happens regularly off the field. CREDITS Host/Producer: Claire Murphy Executive Producer: Elle Beattie Audio Producer: Ian Camilleri Thanks to our special guests sex positive journalist and influencer Nadia Bokody, NRL Gender Advisor Professor Catharine Lumby, ABC reporter Jordan Haynes and our anonymous contributer. Artifex Pereo is a band from Louisville, KY that is quickly gaining notoriety among the subterranean rock-loving audiences across the country. Their unique sound; a style that weaves in and out from being abrasive to melodically serene has successfully (or failed depending on how you see it) kept them from being subjugated by rock sub genres. We caught up with guitarists Jordan Haynes, Jamie Davis, & singer Lucas Worley during a stop on tour with Alesana & iwrestledabearonce. We chat about; their early musical influences, road shenanigans, the band's beginnings, touring with Norma Jean and Emery, working with renown producer Kris Crummett, and more.
It feels like we've been talking about it for ages, but it's only been since last summer that the seeds for Vancouver Whitecaps' USL team were sewn. Those seeds have now sprouted and the team is coming together, with open tryouts this weekend and their preseason training camp kicking off on Monday. The 'Caps have announced the first three signings to the USL squad - all Residency graduates and all in this special WFC2 episode of "There's Still Time", the AFTN podcast. We have exclusive one to one chats with defender Jackson Farmer and midfielder Mitch Piraux about the signing of their first professional contracts, what the USL team means to their development and being involved in last year's Voyageurs Cup squad. Farmer also tells us about making the transition from centre defender to right back and his recent trip to the World Cup qualifiers with the Canadian U20 team. And there's still time for our thoughts on the team and some training scrum audio from the other USL signing Jordan Haynes and head coach Alan Koch. Have a listen!
