As the stakes rise, the game of thrones in Greece continues to get bloodier. Epaminondas aims to strike directly at Spartan power and Agesilaus, but faces political enemies back at home, while Pelopidas heads north to deal with chaos of the two Alexanders of Macedon and Pherae. Athens takes the opportunity to return to their old tricks. This one includes the Spartan assassin society, new cities, an escalation of the Persian Great Satraps Revolt for Artaxerxes to deal with, and the education of the most famous Philip of the ancient world.Primer: Characters in the Game of Thrones at the End of Ancient Greece - History of WesterosVote for Us in the Hugo Awards for Best Related Work - lacon.org/register/Shirts - historyofwesteros.threadless.comHoW Audience Survey - bit.ly/howsurveyBonus Eps & More - patreon.com/historyofwesteroswww.historyofwesteros.comIntro/Maps - klaradox.deFacebook Group - bit.ly/howfbDiscord - bit.ly/howdiscord

In the Line of Duty Cops V's Mental illness | Mark MI WordsI have the privilege of speaking to police recruits about my mental illness — and about the moments when police have met me at my worst, in the middle of a mental health crisis.I don't give them theory. I give them a story.A real one. A raw one. One that shows what it feels like when the uniform arrives, when the world is spinning, and when the difference between escalation and safety comes down to a single human choice. This is that story…▶ WATCH MORE VIDEOS…✅ SO DO I - Bipolar Without Shame - Professor Pakesta Washington | Mark MI Words

Logan, Queensland, doesn't typically produce global empires. Jason Daniel didn't get that particular memo. The founder and CEO of LSKD built a self-funded, $400M global activewear brand from a BMX nickname, a carpenter's apprenticeship, and five years stuck at $3 million in annual revenue—and he did it without a single outside investor. What broke the plateau wasn't a strategy. It was books, a self-development course called Landmark Forum, and the birth of his son Hendrix six months before he scrapped everything and rebranded. In this conversation, Jason talks about what the plateau actually feels like from the inside—the canceled orders, the weeks he couldn't pay himself, the quiet question of whether he'd have to go back to the job site. He talks about why he trademarked "1% better every day," how a mission that started as an internal team value became the spine of a 700-person company operating across three countries, and what it actually takes to scale a culture without hollowing it out. He also gets into his own running journey: from a sub-1:30 half marathon that nearly broke him, to chasing a sub-three-hour full—and why he believes the grind of distance running and the grind of building a brand are teaching him the same thing. Some brands sell a lifestyle. LSKD built one first.Tap into the Jason Daniel Special. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider following us on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and giving us a five-star review! Vulnerable VS Weak | Mark MI Words
Too many times, I open the comments on Mark MI Words and see the same thing: men telling me I'm weak. You'd think we'd be past that by now — past the idea that a man has to be unbreakable, silent, stone‑faced to count as strong. But day after day, it still shows up.In this episode, I dig into the difference between being vulnerable and being weak, and why so many people still confuse the two. I talk about what it costs to show up honestly, why some men lash out when they see it, and why vulnerability isn't the opposite of strength — it's the proof of it.Let's dive in and see where this conversation takes us.

In Episode 68 of the Hollow Bunny Leadership podcast, "Shirts vs Skins," former police chiefs Kristen Ziman and Sylvia Moir dive into the ultimate trial of leadership: what to do when something goes wrong on your watch and the spotlight lands squarely on you. Rejecting the instinctual urge to protect the ego or retreat into "hollow" silence, they challenge leaders to face public scrutiny with thick skin and unshakeable character. Through a breakdown of their own decision-making frameworks – and a deep dive into an iconic pressroom scene from The American President – Kristen and Sylvia lay down a powerful blueprint for confronting accusations, distinguishing between mere noise and genuine accountability, and avoiding the trap of professional obfuscation. Tune in to learn how true leaders stop managing the damage and start leading the narrative with courage, truth, and decisive action.

On this week's episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Chris, and Sids are joined by one of England's toughest ever players… Terry Butcher. From THAT iconic blood-soaked shirt to facing Diego Maradona at the height of his powers, Terry takes us right inside the chaos, passion, and brutality of football in the 80s and 90s.The lads dive deep into Italia 90, the legendary England dressing room, Gazza stories, Bobby Robson's management style, and why Terry believes modern football has “gone soft”. There's also incredible insight into what it actually felt like playing against Maradona during the infamous Hand of God match in 1986 — including what happened when Terry confronted him afterwards.Away from football, Terry opens up emotionally about his son Christopher, his battle with PTSD after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the powerful ITV documentary Invisible Wounds. It's one of the most honest and moving conversations we've ever had on the podcast.Plus: shirt-swapping disasters, Escape To Victory, Dwight Yorke in Australia, and why footballers should stop pulling their socks down.Chumbawamba- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Be sure to watch Invisible Wounds, which will air on ITV and ITVX in June, ahead of England's World Cup opener v Croatia on June 17th.Combat2Coffee: https://www.combat2coffee.co.uk/Combat Stress: https://combatstress.org.uk/Help For Heroes: https://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/get-help/ex-service-women/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23612607550&gbraid=0AAAAADfdgk3vGyf2yF9_4TfZXzAow3j3X&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlLDQBhDjARIsAPlIefFfyifNOXZ69J4ExXskaJtW_LA5j_-jigg8zBDVVMgkk3oJCeClSS4aAq4HEALw_wcB 00:00 - Eurovision chat and Wembley FA Cup stories02:04 - Chris and Sids wind Pete up about Wembley03:55 - John Terry sends Pete a Ruud Gullit surprise video05:26 - Terry Butcher joins the podcast06:25 - Inside the legendary Italia 90 England camp08:03 - Why England never expected to win Italia 9009:24 - England training sessions were “harder than matches”11:28 - Terry explains his mentality playing for England13:23 - “The game's gone soft” starts here14:00 - The full story behind the bloodied shirt15:34 - Why Terry refused to come off injured17:28 - “Every header felt like a squelch”18:20 - Terry reacts to fans dressing up as him19:47 - Life at Rangers and Old Firm madness22:46 - Terry relives the Hand of God match24:21 - Hearing England scream “HANDBALL!” at Maradona25:30 - Terry confronted Maradona after the game26:40 - Was Maradona the greatest ever?28:11 - What made Bobby Robson special29:34 - Terry's issues with modern footballers30:40 - Can England finally win another World Cup?31:33 - Finding out England call-ups on Ceefax32:10 - Why Terry hates energy gels on the pitch33:04 - Terry opens up about his son Christopher35:13 - PTSD, grief, and the struggles veterans face37:19 - How “Combat 2 Coffee” helps veterans talk40:29 - Terry speaks honestly about grief and crying42:38 - Listener questions begin42:59 - Why Terry turned down Escape To Victory44:11 - The only Argentina shirt Terry ever kept44:41 - John Terry's question: best centre-back partner?46:04 - Managing Sydney FC and Dwight Yorke stories48:07 - Highland derby chaos with Derek Adams50:28 - Terry explains what wearing the England shirt means51:04 - Terry's final rant about modern football51:47 - The lads reflect on Terry's emotional interview54:20 - End of Terry segment / football roundup begins01:02:43 - Why FA Cup managers should wear suits again01:06:10 - Listener story about referees and fancy dress01:12:00 - Paddy Power predictions01:28:11 - EndFor more Peter Crouch: Twitter - https://twitter.com/petercrouch Therapy Crouch - https://www.youtube.com/@thetherapycrouch For more Chris Stark Twitter - https://twitter.com/Chris_StarkInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/chrisstark/For more Steve Sidwell Twitter - https://twitter.com/sjsidwell Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/stevesidwell14 #PeterCrouch #ThatPeterCrouchPodcast Hosted on Acast. This week, I want to talk a couple of conversations that have stayed with me in a way I can't shake. In the past couple of weeks, I've spoken with people living with mental illness who have survived significant abuse. And in both conversations, the most disturbing moment wasn't the trauma they described — it was when they told me they believed it was their fault.Hearing that hit me hard. Even though I've never experienced abuse myself, I know how powerful and destructive self‑blame can be. It's something we don't talk about enough, and it's something too many people carry alone. In this episode, I unpack why survivors so often internalise blame, how shame rewrites the story in their heads, and why these conversations matter for all of us — whether we've lived through abuse or not. It's an honest, necessary reflection on the weight people carry and the truth they deserve to hear.▶ WATCH MORE VIDEOS…✅ SO DO I - Bipolar Without Shame - Professor Pakesta Washington | Mark MI Words

Episode: To-Do Lists, Ironed Shirts & the Great LakesIf you've ever drifted off to sleep mid-thought while running through a mental checklist, this episode of The Insomnia Project was made for you. Amanda and Marco explore the quiet, surprisingly satisfying world of list-making — the kind of slow, meandering conversation that's perfect for winding down, easing insomnia, and letting your mind finally relax into sleep. How the conversation meandersIt starts with something wonderfully small: a to-do list borrowed from Marco's nephew's day. From there, the conversation drifts into the gentle pleasure of crossing things off — and the even greater pleasure of writing the list in the first place. Marco, freshly proud of his perfectly ironed and starched shirt, shares a surprisingly useful washing machine tip that leads the whole show sideways into a love of domestic rituals. That nostalgia for simple satisfactions carries the hosts toward geography: Marco's deep affection for Chicago, Amanda's pull toward Lake Erie, and before long the two are drifting slowly through all five Great Lakes, finding what makes each one worthy of the word "great."Perfect for list-lovers, Midwest daydreamers, and anyone who just needs something calm to fall asleep to.What we talk aboutA to-do list from Marco's nephew — and the simple delight of watching someone else's day on paperThe ritual and satisfaction of crossing things off a list, and why making the list might be the best partMarco's freshly ironed, starched shirt — and a tip for getting better results from your washing machineMarco's love for Chicago and what the city means to himAmanda's affection for Lake Erie and what draws her to itA relaxed tour through all five Great Lakes — Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario — and what makes each one quietly remarkableThe way ordinary things become fascinating when you slow down enough to actually look at themThis episode is perfect forAnyone struggling with insomnia who needs something gentle and unhurried to fall asleep toList-makers and planners who find comfort in the ritual of organizing a dayFans of the Great Lakes region, or anyone who grew up near the waterPeople who love Chicago or the wider Midwest and want something that feels like homeListeners who enjoy a sleep podcast that wanders pleasantly and never goes anywhere too fastThe Insomnia Project is a podcast about nothing in particular — and everything that makes ordinary life worth noticing. We return to the action immediately following the Battle of Leuctra where Sparta reeled from unexpected defeat. Yet a new determination emerged in King Agesilaus - who reminded his countrymen that his nemesis hadn't beaten *him*. Meanwhile Thebes, under Epaminondas and Pelopidas, was suddenly the spearpoint of a new Greece, what would they do with this windfall of power? This certainly disrupted the expectations and plans of the biggest players like Jason of Pherae and Great King Artaxerxes of Persia - both of whom simultaneously faced internal threats. In this episode many notable names will meet their end!Shirts - historyofwesteros.threadless.comHoW Audience Survey - bit.ly/howsurveyBonus Eps & More - patreon.com/historyofwesteroswww.historyofwesteros.comIntro/Maps - klaradox.deFacebook Group - bit.ly/howfbDiscord - bit.ly/howdiscordNina - goodqueenaly.tumblr.com/
Look, we made it through the storms — but emotionally? Questionable. This episode of The Rizzuto Show kicks off with the aftermath of some serious Midwest weather chaos, where tornado warnings had everyone glued to their TVs… except the guys, who were outside “checking conditions” like it's a competitive sport. We break down the storm hype vs. reality, give some love to local weather legend Steve Templeton, and question why every dad in America thinks he's a certified meteorologist. From there, things spiral (shocking, we know). We get into a wild story involving a tourist, a snake show, and a decision that absolutely should not have been made. Let's just say… if someone offers to let a cobra crawl up your pants, the answer is ALWAYS no. Meanwhile, Riz brings in a mix of headlines that somehow include airport disasters, tick infestations, and a Disney hotel bedbug lawsuit that will have you rethinking every vacation you've ever taken. And then… Vegas enters the chat. The crew reacts to the “Love Cloud” experience — yes, that's exactly what it sounds like — where couples attempt to join the Mile High Club in a tiny plane with a curtain and a pilot who definitely hears everything. Is it romantic? Is it horrifying? Is it both? We'll let you decide. Also in this episode: AI-generated nonsense, questionable hotel habits, insect horror stories, and a breakup so intense it involved dynamite. Because nothing says “we're done” like explosives. If you're here for daily humor, ridiculous real-life stories, and a group of people who probably shouldn't be giving advice but do anyway — welcome home. This funny podcast delivers exactly what you didn't know you needed: chaos, sarcasm, and just enough reality to make you feel better about your own life choices.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
22 years after the Dance, the last living dragon in Westeros died. All the dragons hatched after the war were weak, spawning theories of poison by the maesters. Some believe they aimed to end the influence of magic, and there's intriguing evidence of change in that regard. Others believe their goal was simply to end the influence of dragons… It could be both, but the Citadel is not the only culprit. An episode that spans characters from Marwyn the Mage to Ser Arlan of Pennytree.Shirts - historyofwesteros.threadless.comHoW Audience Survey - bit.ly/howsurveyBonus Eps & More - patreon.com/historyofwesteroswww.historyofwesteros.comIntro/Maps - klaradox.deFacebook Group - bit.ly/howfbDiscord - bit.ly/howdiscordNina - goodqueenaly.tumblr.com/
