This week on the podcast I had the privilege on sitting down and chatting to father of 2, Adrian Szonyi. Adrian takes us through the story of his eldest son, Leon. At just 6 months, Leon was rushed into emergency brain surgery for a rare condition called hydrocephalus (swelling of the brain). He needed immediate brain surgery to insert a shunt to regulate the fluid. Five brain surgeries resulted in Leon having hemiplegia, limiting his mobility on his left side. He was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Adrian takes me through the challenges but also the amazing steps Leon has made and how proud he is of Leon. An absolutely amazing chat! We went to our first NYCC this year, and were front row for the Spotlight on George RR Martin, and attended the live premiere of the first Dunk and Egg trailer and the follow-up panel which included Peter Claffey (Dunk), Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg), Ira Parker (showrunner), and GRRM.
