When it comes to laying things down, there are some tools that can help. Things like community, confession & counseling are our friends! We also have a foe who seeks to take us out. Being aware of the ways the enemy can creep in is an important part of releasing the things in our life that need to go. Therapist and growth coach Keisha Polonio joins us for this conversation. Over the past 20 years, Keisha has been honored to serve vulnerable people whose voices often go unheard as a child welfare manager, advocate for sex-trafficked survivors, and nonprofit leader. As a therapist, she continues to bring healing to her community one therapy session at a time. Today, we get the gift of her expertise here on the podcast! Keisha talks with Mandie and Delaney about the value of counseling, the need for safe community, and the healing power of confession. Keisha shares insight and wisdom regarding personal healing, identifying blindspots, and what it looks like to  "hold space" for the next generation. Don't miss this!We invite you to pull up a seat and join us at this table of brave conversation!Learn more about Keisha here. Learn more about Brave Girls Gather here.

Earth is a whole thing y'all so we brought therapist and mental health expert, Keisha Polonio, to give us rhythms and practices to help us in our ordinary life. Keisha says, "There's no quick fix for healing and no quick fix for the mental health issues you may be facing." It's too true and things like keeping a routine, standing in the sunshine, laughing with friends, and attending therapy sessions can help you survive summer. We're grateful for Keisha for her time. Follow her on Instagram (and drool over her water videos from Belize): https://www.instagram.com/therapywithkeisha/ If you're in Florida, check out Keisha's therapy practice. The word picture that Keisha gives us today of 1 Peter 5:9-10 is one that we probably all need to tuck away and remember often…Fastening or buckling our feet to THE firm foundation. When we feel like we can’t stand, when we want to run to the temporary comfort or numbing, we need our feet to be buckled to Him. He wants us to know that it is He who makes us steadfast. His Word is the foundation we are fastened to. So when the world is spinning, we need to be still, not run. In the stillness, in the quiet, we are able to hear more clearly His voice, knowing He truly is Lord of our lives.Support the show (https://byfaithshespeaks.com/support/)
