Okay. Gia and Keisha are celebrating something. It's not clear what. But the long and the short of it is they are struggling with their thoughts. Sort of like Willow, but without the overbearing douchebag yammering non-stop. Anyway. They can't figure out who knows what. That's across multiple storylines. They also can't figure out why. Apply that to anything you like. Storyline. Outfit. Beverage. Your call. Also who. As in, who cares who gets what child or children? Aren't they all a little disappointing? Bottom line, apologies for whatever Gia and Keisha have going on in this episode. Best to lower your expectations (if you haven't already). #mauricebenard #kellythiebaud #rogerhowarth #maurawest #steveburton #delirious #barshampoo #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #hillstreetblues #kinshriner #nicholaschavez #afterlife #rickygervais #hallandoates #superstore #freaksandgeeks #freefallin #alanarkin #newgirl #lamornemorris #colonoscopy #takethenap #alleymills #billylibby #chickadee #fortgorgeous #robertgossett #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #marcuscoloma #useastaplegun #riptwitch #ripepiphany #ripsonyaeddy #waywardchickadee #barshampoo #ripmiffy #lovedogs #justinebateman #brookeshields #neilgaiman #dnice #cq #deborahcox #malcolmjamalwarner #lume #godzillaminusone #ripjacklynzeman #jasonmomoa #adambelanoff #thecloser #majorcrimes #wings #murphybrown #thecosbyshow #pinkalicious #ripbillymiller #ripmatthewperry #riptylerchristopher #riplesliecharleson #ripandrebraugher #ripjohnnywactor #dutchbarnvodka #chadduell #rickygervaisrobot #colinfromaccounts

Regular listeners of Off the Record will recall Keisha Wilson, whom I hosted on the program in June 2024 to talk about telehealth as well as her story of entrepreneurship. She was a bright light and a great guest, so I asked her to return to the show a couple months ago. Keisha accepted, and is here today, but it's a near miracle. Eight months ago Keisha suffered an unimaginable tragedy, the loss of her home following a gas explosion and subsequent fire at a neighbor's home. This included the loss of essentially all but a small handful of her worldly possessions. Somehow she's kept her business afloat and managed to stay on top of the many changes in telehealth, SDOH, and more, and even present on these topics at the recent AAPC Healthcon. It felt a bit odd to pivot to these topics but you'd be hard-pressed to find someone more in the know and ready to educate about telehealth and medical coding than Keisha. Pretty inspiring stuff, and we get into all of it on the program. We discuss: The house fire: How it happened, fallout, and dramatic life impacts on Keisha and her mother Keisha's personal experience with social determinants of health (SDOH) including housing instability and food insecurity after the catastrophic loss Finding new levels of resiliency and using the experience to fuel her AAPC presentation Congress' extension of telehealth flexibilities through Sept. 30, 2025: What they are, what it means How healthcare organizations should be leveraging telehealth in coding and mid-revenue cycle practice Telehealth as a tool to address and improve SDOH (medication adherence, transportation and patient scheduling) Impact on billing—did you know that moderate medical decision making can be met due to diagnosis or treatment significantly limited by SDOH? What's next for Keisha including the search for a new permanent home—and of course her selection for the Off the Record Spotify playlist. Marriage doesn't fix loneliness—and a ring won't heal unaddressed wounds. In this eye-opening episode, Keisha Rice breaks down what no one talks about when it comes to long-term commitment: the silent epidemic of unhappily married women. Keisha shares real-life insight from decades of church community, family counseling, and her own experience as a wife and coach. Whether you're single and serious about marriage or already dating with purpose, this episode is your pre-marital check-in—with love, truth, and no sugarcoating. Inside this episode: What growing up seeing long-term marriages fall apart taught Keisha about discernment How women accidentally settle out of fear and call it "faith" Why knowing and loving yourself first is non-negotiable How to spiritually and emotionally vet a man (because "he goes to church" isn't enough) The hard truth about discipline, self-worth, and what you bring to the relationship Why your marriage will mirror what you haven't healed You'll walk away with: A mindset reset on what really makes a marriage last Journal prompts to check your heart before you check the "wife" box Permission to wait well—and protect your peace at all costs Steps to build a life that's already full before love arrives Coaching with Keisha:

Gia and Keisha are coming to you a day early because Gia is traveling to Montana tomorrow. Good luck, Montana! Now, the custody battle. The first casualty: Sasha. Poor Sasha. That baby had better be okay, or Jason, Michael, and anyone else interested in being a father to Sasha's baby will be coming down hard on Ric and whoever spilled Sasha's beans. Meanwhile, the whole Gio situation is still being processed at a high volume. Except for Sonny, who continues to be quite relaxed about everything. Also, does Emma have the skills to get what she needs on the professor without giving herself away? Bryan Hudson, DMin. hosts an insightful conversation with Denell Howard on Conversations In Focus. Pastor Howard is the founder and director of Evolve International, Inc. The letters E.V.O.L.V.E stands for "Educating for Victory Offering Leadership Vision & Empowerment." Evolve International Inc. is an organization developed solely to grow and develop leaders. Our goal is to inspire African American males to intentionally lead in areas of education, entrepreneurship, civics, and mentoring. The challenges within the Black community are vast and multifaceted, yet we believe we can articulate the solution in one word: leadership. Their work of Evolve International is to engage in the development of the next generation and to empower leaders to evolve by creating supportive environments through the five "C's" of Coaches, Conferences, Clubs, Camps, and The Evolve Education Center. Denell Howard is also Pastor of the Hovey Street church of Christ in Indianapolis, IN. He and his wife, Keisha, have three children and reside in Indianapolis. What I find remarkable and refreshing about Pastor Howard is his authenticity, consistency, and clarity of purpose. He is a man who does not compromise concerning the assignment the Lord has giving him, maintaining a laser focus on empowering young black men, and bringing people from all walks of life together to fulfill that purpose. Some great daytime drama in Port Charles! Now, Lois is catching a lot of flak for the decisions she made re: Gio, but Gia and Keisha are feeling a bit of sympathy for her. Of course, Lulu deserves every bit of criticism leveled at her. She's awful. Tracy and Ned get points for loveliness. As does Emma. Back squarely in the awful department: Drew. How did he manage to find a way to become so much worse?! So much. Pocketing Lila's ring. OMG. Run, Willow, run. Also, the new Michael seems to be working out, but it is early. And Kai and Trina are a very nice couple, but is that enough? Oh boy! Lots of action at the Nurse's Ball! And not all of it embarrassing! First, Nina was great on the red carpet. A real pro. Drew. Well, Drew. Best dressed? Gia and Keisha are in agreement! On that and not much else. Well, Lulu is terrible. They still agree about that. And Gio has some real acting chops! He's not just a pretty violinist! But, oh dear, so much pain. And then there's Alexis and Kristina. Talk about a handful. And Curtis and Portia. Is Curtis too rigid? Or is Portia not rigid enough? Gia and Keisha may never agree on that one. Keisha Wright is a professional life coach from the Sunshine State of Florida, who like many others, spent her early years doing what she was “supposed” to do. She went to school, became a teacher, wife, and mother, and her life was seemingly normal, until it wasn’t. She went from working in the school system to raising a family and then, all of a sudden, she was faced with tragedy she didn’t know how to deal with. She then found herself in counseling and was told it was going to take 3-5 years to fully recover from her trauma. That’s when something within her changed. She thought to herself, “I can’t hang on that long, there must be a better way”. And in that moment of desperation, she remembers telling God “if you can get me out of this, I will dedicate the rest of my life to teaching others how to do the same.” That’s when she was blessed with meeting a woman who offered to help her overcome her trauma. Throughout her healing journey this friend/coach taught Keisha the way forward and as she began doing the work, she ended up developing the foundations of the Emotional Recovery Clinic. Once healed, Keisha spent the next 12 years volunteering her time to help others recover, as well as establish her own practice, Women’s Recovery Clinic. She spent her time traveling across the country teaching both women and men how to heal their trauma. Now, Keisha continues to uphold that same vision and mission as she jumps into life with others when their going gets tough and everything seems to be falling apart. Like her friend/coach did for her, she walks this journey of recovery with people until it becomes their new normal. Her purpose is clear: to teach you the way out, as none of us are born knowing how to put our lives back together. Former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms ended all the speculation and announced her campaign for Georgia's governor's office early today. Greg Bluestein from the Atlanta Journal Constitution had a prolonged Q & A with Bottoms and it was somewhat revealing, actually. I'm still only lukewarm to the prospects of her being the Democratic party's nominee, but it's hard to ignore her introduction being an effective launch. ------Former Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, the ex-Republican, has advice for the Democratic Party - to take a "new" direction he says. The problem is, this "new" direction is the same direction the party's tried taking since the ascendancy of Ronald Reagan - appeal to the center - and it's only failed the party more than it's aided them, but sure. Actually, no; Geoff should work harder to help sanity retake the GOP instead of trying to remake the Democratic Party to his liking. ------Bill Maher' sort of fallen from grace with a lot of us on the left, but occasionally he still delivers a "New Rule" worthy of sharing, and last weekend, he called out those on the right and the left for being so lacking in having 'core convictions.'

Gia and Keisha may never like Lulu again. And Dante is on thin ice. Thin ice! Carly and Nina, well. Those two could be spokesmodels for Sonny's vulva gym. Almost too bad that Joss broke up the fight. And maybe they just need to get Drew in the ring and give him a good, old-fashioned pummeling? Also, can someone pick up the phone and call Michael? Or just send him a text? Now, what will Curtis do about Portia? Is she out after three strikes? Should she be? Finally, how amazing did Ava look in that blouse?! At the end of the day, maybe that's all that matters. #mauricebenard #kellythiebaud #rogerhowarth #maurawest #steveburton #delirious #barshampoo #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #hillstreetblues #kinshriner #nicholaschavez #afterlife #rickygervais #hallandoates #superstore #freaksandgeeks #freefallin #alanarkin #newgirl #lamornemorris #colonoscopy #takethenap #alleymills #billylibby #chickadee #fortgorgeous #robertgossett #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #marcuscoloma #useastaplegun #riptwitch #ripepiphany #ripsonyaeddy #waywardchickadee #barshampoo #ripmiffy #lovedogs #justinebateman #brookeshields #neilgaiman #dnice #cq #deborahcox #malcolmjamalwarner #lume #godzillaminusone #ripjacklynzeman #jasonmomoa #adambelanoff #thecloser #majorcrimes #wings #murphybrown #thecosbyshow #pinkalicious #ripbillymiller #ripmatthewperry #riptylerchristopher #riplesliecharleson #ripandrebraugher #ripjohnnywactor #dutchbarnvodka #chadduell #rickygervaisrobot #colinfromaccounts

Well, Gia and Keisha are upset with Dante. And still Lulu, but mostly Dante right now. Poor Gio. Let's hope he can recover from this. Also, how fun are Rik and Ava skulking about town, spreading joy. Is Alexis going to snap? Plus Sonny seems to be making a remarkable recovery, as is Kai. Modern medicine, right? And there is a bit more talk about horses. And also badgers. And bunnies. Were it not for reporting by Ross Williams at the Georgia Recorder, none of us might've even known a 'Third Way'-backed centrist Democrat 'Ideas Summit' even took place in Atlanta earlier this week. State Senator Jason Esteves - the lone notable Democratic gubernatorial candidate (sorry, Keisha; until you announce 'for sure,' that's how it is ...) along with Senator Elena Parent, Representative Tanya Miller attended. Esteves, in fact, introduced 'Third Way' vice president of policy Jim Kessler, so there's surely some connection to Esteves and 'Third Way.'To that I say "uh oh.""Uh oh" because centrist Democrats have been the force stirring the party drink for a long time now, and frankly, they're the reason the party keeps losing, but they think it's 'woke white progressives' causing the party to stub its toe. No; it's piss-poor messaging and they're not addressing household budget issues that affect middle income America - the issues progressives like Bernie Sanders, AOC, et al, have been addressing even when it was taboo to do so last Biden/Harris re-election cycle. So on today's show, I call "bullsh*t" to the lot of it, and if/when Senator Esteves does come on to tout his gubernatorial campaign, I'm thinking we'll have a spirited discussion about this. Until then ...

Wow. The Savoy is where it's at! Gia and Keisha are still processing the body shot scene. That Drew just keeps finding new ways to behave badly. And he behaved really, really badly. So fun! Also, Lulu is kind of behaving badly and maybe fooling herself, but not Gia and Keisha. Plus, it looks like Joss is going to behave badly because she's a spy now, and that's what spies do. But will she be able to live with herself? Probably. She's a pro. And finally, Laura is the boss. I secured a 2012 Demo copy of Jai Paul's Jasmine for $16. Some ol' boy in Burbank California didn't do his homework last week and obviously neither did the person he or she bought the record from in the previous transaction. This record in my possession should be at least a $100 sell but buddy just didn't know what time it was. All of the covers do look similar for most of his drops but come on Pappy. C-List disc jockey like me? Forget about it. I sniffed it out immediately and blasted it for my beautiful congregation of audible punching bags on the inter webs. What's good Keisha. I think I'll start listing my 3 favorite points of each episode in the bios. No better time to start than now. Okay, the very start slowing and throwing a 1959 Willie Nelson track is sick work. Next, the Jerry Vale Innamorata at the end. Unbelievable. I could levitate like a monk listening to the vocal acoustics on this Jerry Vale album. And of course, lastly I enjoyed hyper focus listening to the 13 year old demo version of Jasmine, and I had never heard the solo instrumental before that either. Fantastic. I do have some other pickups that will remain surprises until next episode. Some cool 45 finds today. That is all for now, dropping the Sheep Tee on www.coffeestainclothing.com this week, if you'd like a sneak peek, find my TikTok the sheep design is there. Drew. And. Willow. No. Thanks. Gia and Keisha are not interested in seeing this couple doing anything, but especially it. Let's not let that happen again, okay? Also, what does that creepy bastard have in mind for young Kai? Some lovely moments, though: Ned, Brook Lynn and Chase--we might need more Ned. Jason and Danny also had a nice father-son moment, and Laura and Lulu--well, where did Lulu get the money for this house? And why does she have to be such a meddler? So hard to root for her. Plus, is Diane up to something, or is she just becoming a very, sloppy lawyer? #mauricebenard #kellythiebaud #rogerhowarth #maurawest #steveburton #delirious #tshirtgiveaway #barshampoo #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #hillstreetblues #kinshriner #saveava #nicholaschavez #savediane #afterlife #rickygervais #stonewallkitchen #hallandoates #superstore #freaksandgeeks #waitingonafriend #memyselfi #freefallin #alanarkin #newgirl #lamornemorris #whosgonnarideyourwildhorses #maneater #whippingpost #colonoscopy #takethenap #alleymills #billylibby #chickadee #fortgorgeous #robertgossett #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #marcuscoloma #useastaplegun #riptwitch #ripepiphany #ripsonyaeddy #waywardchickadee #barshampoo #ripmiffy #lovedogs #justinebateman #brookeshields #neilgaiman #dnice #cq #deborahcox #malcolmjamalwarner #lume #godzillaminusone #ripjacklynzeman #jasonmomoa #adambelanoff #thecloser #majorcrimes #wings #murphybrown #thecosbyshow #pinkalicious #ripbillymiller #ripmatthewperry #riptylerchristopher #riplesliecharleson #ripandrebraugher #ripjohnnywactor #dutchbarnvodka #chadduell #rickygervaisrobot #colinfromaccounts
In this powerful episode of NOT ALL HOOD, former Atlanta Mayor, White House Senior Advisor, and current Georgia gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms joins Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Candace Kelley for an unfiltered conversation about the state of American democracy, political resilience, media manipulation, and the misunderstood role of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). Keisha shares personal insights on navigating political life while protecting mental peace, raising informed children in a digital age, and why local elections matter more than people realize. The trio dives deep into how misinformation, distractions, and systemic rollbacks threaten progress, while emphasizing that true power lies within communities taking action—starting at home, in conversations, and at the ballot box. From tackling voter apathy to reclaiming narratives erased by political agendas, this episode is a masterclass in civic engagement, hope, and resilience. If you're questioning where the leaders are, how to stay informed without losing yourself, or what DEI really stands for amidst today's culture wars, this is a conversation you can't afford to miss. #KeishaLanceBottoms #politicsunplugged #protectyourpeace #blackvoicesmatter #civicengagement #democracyinaction #staywoke #notallhood #malcolmjamalwarner #CandaceKelly #nahmorethanamonth #companyx----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not All Hood (NAH) podcast takes a look at the lived experiences and identities of Black people in America. Gia and Keisha are a little bit cranky! Blame Sidwell! Who needs this guy? No one! Even his son seems like a dink. And Natalia has very loose lips. Plus Gia has a lot to say about horse casting. Keisha is neutral on that front. Also, Anna is going to continue letting the citizens of Port Charles take care of the serious criminals--good for her! What could go wrong? And Carly is back to being Sonny's buddy. What will Jack have to say about that? Does anyone care? No. No one cares. #mauricebenard #kellythiebaud #rogerhowarth #maurawest #steveburton #delirious #tshirtgiveaway #barshampoo #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #hillstreetblues #kinshriner #saveava #nicholaschavez #savediane #afterlife #rickygervais #stonewallkitchen #hallandoates #superstore #freaksandgeeks #waitingonafriend #memyselfi #freefallin #alanarkin #newgirl #lamornemorris #whosgonnarideyourwildhorses #maneater #whippingpost #colonoscopy #takethenap #alleymills #billylibby #chickadee #fortgorgeous #robertgossett #daydrinkingwithsethmeyers #marcuscoloma #useastaplegun #riptwitch #ripepiphany #ripsonyaeddy #waywardchickadee #barshampoo #ripmiffy #lovedogs #justinebateman #brookeshields #neilgaiman #dnice #cq #deborahcox #malcolmjamalwarner #lume #godzillaminusone #ripjacklynzeman #jasonmomoa #adambelanoff #thecloser #majorcrimes #wings #murphybrown #thecosbyshow #pinkalicious #ripbillymiller #ripmatthewperry #riptylerchristopher #riplesliecharleson #ripandrebraugher #ripjohnnywactor #dutchbarnvodka #chadduell #rickygervaisrobot #colinfromaccounts
Send us a text message and tell us your thoughts. The Caribbean's artistic traditions reveal profound truths about our history, identity, and resilience. Keisha Oliver, PhD candidate at Penn State, joins Strictly Facts as we discuss Bahamian visual culture that challenges conventional understandings of Caribbean creativity. From the gendered practice of straw craft—where women wove not just materials but stories across generations—to the radical educational approaches of forgotten art pioneers, this conversation uncovers how visual expression became a battleground for decolonization. Horace Wright traveled between islands as the Bahamas' only art educator during segregation, while Donald Russell created alternative spaces where Black and white students could learn together despite societal barriers. Their stories reflect the complex migratory patterns that define Caribbean identity itself: birth in one nation, heritage from another, and contributions to a third. Most provocatively, Oliver poses an existential question gaining urgency as climate change threatens island nations: "How do we preserve who Bahamians were outside the physicality of the Bahamas?" This challenge demands innovative approaches to cultural documentation that honor indigenous and African diasporic traditions while embracing new technologies and platforms. By framing arts education as a form of Black radical thought, this episode reveals how cultural expression functions as political resistance and nation-building. The conversation ultimately demonstrates that art doesn't merely reflect Caribbean identity—it actively creates it, serving as both anchor to our past and compass toward our future.Keisha Oliver is Bahamian assistant professor of Art and Design at the University of The Bahamas, and a PhD candidate in the dual-title Art Education and African American and Diaspora Studies program at the Pennsylvania State University. As an artist-scholar whose research intersects heritage studies and arts pedagogy, Oliver's current work focuses on mid-twentieth century transcultural African diasporic art histories and archives. She currently stewards the Charles Blockson Collection of African Americana and The African Diaspora at Penn State and serves on several boards for arts organizations in the Caribbean and United States. Her research has been published internationally in the areas of museum studies, visual arts research, Bahamian art, and Caribbean art history.Support the showConnect with Strictly Facts - Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn | YouTube | Website Looking to read more about the topics covered in this episode? Old wounds don't always fade just because time passes. Sometimes, the things that happened years ago still shape how people see themselves, how they trust others, and how they navigate the world. It's frustrating to feel like something unseen is pulling the strings, making certain patterns repeat no matter how much effort goes into changing them. The past doesn't just disappear, but understanding its influence is often the first step toward breaking free from it. Keisha Henry is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and master social worker (MSW) with 16 years of experience specializing in trauma-informed therapy. She primarily works with women, adolescents, and parents, helping them navigate emotional healing through strength-based therapeutic approaches. As the author of Healing from the Heart: Lessons from My Journey and a doctoral researcher, Keisha focuses on the psychological impacts of father absence on women and girls. Today, she shared personal experiences with father absence, discussed her research on generational trauma, and highlighted the importance of understanding early family dynamics in shaping identity and relationships.
