Though “chakra” meant little to the author in 1999, when she was in her 20s and diagnosed with thyroid cancer, it became a fundamental aspect of her healing. Fondin explored the fifth chakra, which included the thyroid gland. She came to understand previous illnesses and psychological circumstances in ways that explained — and helped heal — her current illness. Fondin, a teacher, healer, and author known for plain-spoken explanations of Eastern practices here puts the power of chakras in the hands of readers, whether they are facing a particular illness or interested in optimizing everyday wellbeing. In a program that can be used for a seven-day intensive healing or a lifetime plan for maintaining peak wellness, readers learn to balance each of the seven chakras through diet, breath, meditation, and yoga asanas. Spiritual, energetic, and physical in nature, chakra healing epitomizes the proven power of utilizing every aspect of the mind, body, and spirit. www.michellefondinauthor.com
