Join Rabbi Marc Katz for a powerful and unexpected conversation with historian Ofer Idels author of Embodying the Revolution: The Hebrew Experience and the Globalization of Modern Sports in Interwar Palestine (Rutgers UP, 2025). This episode dives into a fascinating paradox at the heart of modern Jewish history:Why did Zionism—especially during the era of “muscular Judaism”—remain deeply ambivalent about sports? Drawing on rich archival research and contemporary theory, Idels reveals a surprising story of Mandate Palestine, where athletes rarely became national heroes and sports never fully transformed into symbols of collective pride. This is more than a history of sports—it's a conversation about selfhood, revolution, ideology, and the compromises embedded in every national dream. If you care about Zionism, Jewish culture, modern identity, or the meaning of revolution, this is an episode you won't want to miss. Ofer Idels is the Jenny Belzberg Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary, Canada. He is the author of Zionism: Emotions, Language and Experience. Modern spirituality often glorifies transcendence—rising above the body and the world. But what if that's only half the path?In this illuminating conversation, Cynthia Abulafia—author of Embodying the Goddess—challenges patriarchal spirituality and calls us back to sacred embodiment. Drawing from non-duality and Tantric traditions, she reveals the Divine Feminine as alive in the body, the breath, and the Earth. You'll explore:The Divine Feminine beyond gender—rooted in vibration and embodimentThe hidden cost of “leaving the body” (the Transcendence Hangover)The true, fierce compassion of KaliA simple breath-based mantra to reconnect with the sacredThis isn't about escape—it's about integration. Divinity lives here, in your body and this Earth.
PRE-ORDER the upcoming book now: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/the-bookAt the age of nine Luis was diagnosed with ADHD. He never medicated with pharmaceuticals: instead his drugs of choice were coffee, cigarettes, and a stimulating diet. Over the years Luis has learned how to reduce the stimulants needed to keep him engaged. ADD/ADHD is when there is not enough dopamine getting to the brain, usually because of low levels of brain and gut, or vagus nerve inflammation. People in this situation are sometimes referred to as “bored”, “lazy”, or "depressed", as a body collapses in to functional freeze. Camille and Luis discuss the upcoming 6-month ADHD Slow Group starting April 7th. It begins with learning to relate to the ADHD nervous system, overcouplings and judgments about ADHD behaviors, animism of the body, overwhelm, dopamine, relationships and finally cultivating a fascinating life. They will also teach how to leverage balancing foods, and how to consciously use stimulants. The gift of ADHD is a low capacity for bullsh*t, or as Luis calls it RITC, a Radical Inability To Conform. Instead of seeing it as a disorder, we see it as the dopamine deficiency that it is, so that we can learn to relate to in a healthier way. PRE-ORDER the upcoming book now: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/the-bookIn this replay episode, we explore ADHD or RITC -- a Radical Inability To Conform.Luis shares with us his own childhood experiences with ADHD, Tourette's syndrome, and nervous ticks. Often people are prescribed medications to suppress these conditions but Luis questions what would it mean to allow ourselves to relate to them as expressions?Luis begins to reframe the idea of ADHD; pivoting from "I can't focus" to "I have attention for what interests me." He also explains how guilt or shame resulting from an ADHD expression, i.e. a lack of attention to something you "should" be doing, can propel someone into a state of freeze, reinforcing the notion that they "can't" do something. So whether we have ADHD or not, he invites us into a practice to explore the spectrum of tasks we have to do or should do and how can we interweave them with activities that genuinely interest us and rejuvenate us, thus giving us more capacity for doing the "have-to" tasks. You can read more about, and register for, the Embodied ADHD 6-month program, here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/slow-practice-adhd You can read more about, and register for, Camille's Embodying My Cycles & Rhythms 6-month group here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/cycles-and-rhythms-slow-group You can register for the FREE Food Therapy session here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/events/recover-from-burnout----You can learn more on the website: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/ You can follow Luis on Instagram @holistic.life.navigationQuestions? In this powerful and deeply engaging conversation, we sit down with Julia Golub, transformational speaker and embodiment mentor, to explore the connection between mindset, money, identity, and personal power.Together, we dive into how our upbringing shapes our beliefs, the role of health challenges in personal transformation, and why community, nervous system regulation, and energetic boundaries are essential for navigating life with clarity and confidence. Julia shares her own journey of rebuilding identity after a life-altering medical experience — a moment that reshaped her purpose and ultimately led to the creation of Dangerous Woman. This episode is an honest exploration of self-trust, sovereignty, and embodied confidence, reminding us that true empowerment isn't something we think our way into — it's something we become. Through stories of resilience, growth, and self-discovery, Julia offers profound insight into what it means to reclaim your power, keep promises to yourself, and step fully into who you are meant to be.Mindset, money, and identityHealing through embodiment and nervous system intelligenceEnergetic boundaries and personal sovereigntyThe impact of health challenges on personal growthRebuilding confidence from the inside outCommunity, support, and transformationKeeping promises to yourself as a path to empowermentJulia Golub is a transformational speaker and embodiment mentor whose work centers on identity sovereignty, nervous system intelligence, energetic boundaries, and embodied transformation.Formally trained as a yoga teacher and practitioner of energy work, Julia bridges disciplined study with lived experience. In her twenties, a life-altering medical event dismantled her understanding of purpose and identity — forcing her to rebuild from the inside out. From those ashes, Dangerous Woman was born.Through years of study in identity, behavioral change, and embodiment, Julia developed her core belief: confidence is not something you think your way into — it is something you become.Today, she guides women out of performance and into sovereignty, teaching them to reclaim their intrinsic power, embody certainty, and trust their place in every room they enter.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/donjulia/
Everyone in the spiritual space suddenly has predictions about 2026; apocalyptic warnings, transformative awakening, intense upheaval. But here's the problem: when we outsource our discernment to future-focused prophecies, we drain our power in the present. This episode asks a radically different question: not what's coming, but how do we engage with predictions without letting them hijack our nervous systems?Instead of adding to the noise of 2026 predictions, hosts Will and Karen bring together three former guests with distinctly different perspectives: Karen Cheong (Spherical Luminosity), who works with quantum fields and embodied resonance; Gabrielle Celeste (Agua Astrology), who unpacks astrology as pattern recognition rather than destiny; and Rachel White (Totem Readings/The Skeptical Shaman), who challenges fear-based narratives while honoring mystical experience. The result? A grounded, occasionally playful conversation about staying centered when the future feels uncertain, and why your resonance might matter more than any prediction.Key Insights & Takeaways:Predictions read probability, not certainty. The quantum field operates in wave potential; nothing is fixed until focused attention and resonance collapse it into form. What looks inevitable can shift based on individual and collective energy.Fear-mongering serves a purpose (and it's not yours). "Solution selling" creates urgency, pokes at pain, then offers rescue. When predictions drop your nervous system into fight-or-flight, ask: is this informing me or disempowering me?Your resonance creates ripple effects. One person raising their energetic frequency doesn't just change their own experience, it impacts the field. Think of it as refusing to feed the parasites (energetic or metaphorical) that thrive on low-vibration states.Apocalypse means "revealing," not "ending." The Greek etymology points to information disclosure, not destruction. We may be in the middle of a great revealing...uncomfortable, yes, but potentially liberating.Play and presence are radical acts. Getting stuck in future-focused anxiety pulls you out of the now. Embodying joy, curiosity, and play, especially during chaos, is both a nervous system regulation tool and a form of spiritual defiance.Authority stays with you, always. Whether it's astrology, tarot, or intuitive readings, useful guidance invites you to reflect, not dictate your reality. If something leaves you feeling powerless rather than informed, set it aside. Why This Conversation Is Different: This isn't doom-scrolling disguised as spiritual discourse. There's no guru worship, no forced optimism, and no insistence that you "just raise your vibration" while ignoring systemic suffering. Instead, it's a nuanced look at how intelligent, curious people can hold multiple truths: yes, things are intense; yes, darkness is being revealed; and yes, you still have agency over your internal state and the reality you co-create.The guests respectfully disagree at points, and that's the strength of this roundtable.Listener Reassurance: If you've been feeling disoriented by competing spiritual narratives or guilty for not being "positive enough," this episode gives you permission to feel whatever's real for you, and then decide what to do with it. Curiosity doesn't make you gullible. Discernment doesn't make you closed-minded. And choosing your resonance over someone else's fear isn't bypassing...it's survival.Call to Action: Listen when you're ready to reclaim your center. Reflect on which predictions you've been internalizing and whether they're serving you. And if you find this conversation useful, share it with someone navigating their own spiritual awakening without a roadmap, because grounded guidance matters more than ever.Featured Guests:Karen Cheong – Spherical Luminosity | sphericalluminosity.comGabrielle Celeste – Agua Astrology & Spiritual Sisters PodcastRachel White – Totem Readings & The Skeptical Shaman Podcast | totemreadings.comThe Skeptic Metaphysicians is a pragmatic spirituality podcast for curious minds exploring the unknown without abandoning critical thinking. Click here to send me a quick message :) Last week I read some quotes from Dr Rosales Mesa. She said, "The prophecy of a new ancient world isn't something we wait for. It's something we EMBODY TOGETHER... Your ancestors prayed for you to awaken the wisdom in your blood and bones. You were not born for colonial submission... Despair keeps us in the colonial story. Hope is ancestral."And my goodness, they resonated. I really feel the truth in how the colonial story (of which essentially all of us except maybe the billionaires and world leaders are impacted by) causes us to retract our own embodied power and sovereignty. It's easy to feel small, and lose hope, when we are bombarded by deeply disturbing conditions and information. So what then can we do?It's not easy to find that inner fortitude, but we can't just give up. If you're reading this, my guess is that you are likely a person of the earth with a deep connection or interest in the generative potential within the womb. So, perhaps today's episode will offer a welcome invitation to reflect and connect on ways to deepen your relationship with your own ancestral resilience and hope. This ancestral resilience is inside all of us. Every single one. It's in our blood. And our bones. I hope this one supports you. Resources:Join Natural Contraception the Herbal Way! Welcome to Lunacy; where we discern the sacred from the insane and admit that whether we like it or not, we are all profoundly affected by the cycles of the moon.Today on LUNACY, we're in Egypt! This podcast was recorded in sight of the Great Pyramids. No joke. This talk was on the last day of a two week pilgrimage in Egypt. It was stunning. Truly awe-inspiring. Like how on earth did they build all of these astonishing structures? And why? This is where we delve in this episode. There's a lot of reflection on what it's like to enter these temples in a sacred way, with reverence. We dig into some of the mythology that led to the creation of these sites. We also look at what the Ancient Egyptians believed: Leading from the heart. Living by virtues. Embodying a cycle of offering. This one is good for those of us who marvel at the largest, most incredible buildings on earth, all created to honor the divine. Some secrets are revealed. Others are pondered. Good stuff. Much Love***********************I'm Geoff Eido. I disappeared from the podcast for a few months because my nervous system was absolutely fried.Extreme sleep deprivation. Zero capacity. Full system shutdown. And honestly? It was the best thing that could've happened. What looked like burnout and everything falling apart was actually my subconscious forcing me to stop — so I could finally become the woman who receives more by doing less.In this episode, I break down the deepest self-concept and identity upgrade I've ever experienced — the one that shifted my money, my relationship, and the way life responds to me.I stopped pushing.I stopped performing.I rewired the story of who I am.And almost overnight, money flooded in, my relationship elevated into next-level devotion and care, and life started treating me like its favourite. This isn't manifestation theory. This is embodied power.

In this episode I am joined by Igor Vasilevitsky, a counselor, father, and exceptional writer on all things healing, masculinity, and femininity. He works with archetypes to help men and women heal and grow (he has helped me on my own journey). We dive into the benevolent or divine father archetype and unpack why he is so important in our world. In today's episode, Rachel is talking to you from the first day of her moon, feeling very vulnerable and sad. She begins by sharing her views on the injustices occurring in every corner of the planet. When we are separated geographically, but still feeling these intense emotions for others, what can we do? One answer is to connect deeply to our feminine. Rachel gains some momentum and shares a practice she has to really express her feminine energy - the ugly dance. If you ever feel the need to embody your emotions through movement, to act out and rage against the insanity of the world, or to step into your fullest expression of self, the ugly dance is the answer. Maybe no one has taught us what healthy anger looks like - and maybe no one has given us permission to touch the ugliest parts of ourselves - but this episode will. Tune in to go there. On her Patreon account, she produces translations, interpretations, previews of books in progress and videos. She also teaches swords around the world. We start by talking about travelling with knives and guns, before moving onto the main topic, which is looking at the ways to mitigate the downsides of aging as we train and get older. One of the main things to work out is understanding the difference between discomfort and dysfunction, i.e. is this pain OK, or have I catastrophically injured myself? And at what point should I listen to the fear? We talk about what lessons a long term martial arts practice has given us in our daily lives, especially when dealing with life's big moments. Bringing authenticity, intentionality, and a timeless blend of country and americana, Rowe's “voice, personality, and story will mesmerize you” (Missy, Center Stage Magazine). From international tours in Poland to charity events, to opening for big name artists like Wynonna Judd and LeAnn Rimes, Rowe has seen all sides of the industry and proven her invaluable talent. Closer to home, the Arizonan continues to champion rising talent and the spirit of true country music as co-host of the local radio series Arizona on the Rise. Shari Rowe isn't just a trailblazer—she's a guiding light in modern country music. With every song she reminds us where the genre has been, and where it's headed next. After facing a frightening health scare, country singer-songwriter Shari Rowe turned to music for strength. Her upcoming single, “Too Good To Go,” began as a poem written the night she was told she might have Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer. What started as fear turned into gratitude, transforming into one of her most personal and powerful songs to date. Weeks later, doctors confirmed a rare but non-life-threatening autoimmune condition, but the song remains a heartfelt reminder that life is, indeed, too good to go.“I love that I've got so much to lose — that line is the heartbeat of the song.” Shari Rowe ****If you would like to contact the show about being a guest, please email us at Dauna@bettertopodcast.comFollow us on Social MediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomIntro and Outro music compliments of Fast Suzi©2025 Better To...Podcast with D. Ep. 216 (Part 2 of 2) | In Part 2 of Deep Transformation's first episode in the What is Real Greatness Series, longtime spiritual teacher Jack Kornfield declares that in his experience real greatness is a greatness of heart. In Buddhism, greatness of heart is embodied in the ideal of the bodhisattva—one whose life is dedicated to the well-being of all. Embodying compassion is not a grim proposition, Jack explains, but a joy! The whole point of it being human happiness and inner freedom. Because of his deep understanding of compassion, Jack was invited to the Oslo Freedom Forum to counsel global activists on how to prevent burnout, and when talking to them about their outrage, he told them, “You do this because you care—that is not a loss of power, it's actually the deep power. Tune into the care.” Greatness of heart is the great power.Jack relates that the experience of awakening can be felt in different ways: it might feel like everything is love, perfection, emptiness, or freedom. For me, the channel is love and my practice is to love everyone, he explains. We have to love both the lion and the gazelle, he continues, and shares a poignant story of how very loving Ram Dass became towards the end of his life, loving everything, even his pain. When the conversation turns towards the potential demise of humanity, Jack wonders, will we be able to do something beneficial with our consciousness now that we're aware that we are all connected? What is the spirit you want to lead with? he asks. What is the dance you want to do? A thoroughly thought provoking, nourishing, inspiring conversation. Recorded October 2, 2025.“You think you're separate – you think you exist. But you're not who you think you are. What if the next chapter of your life didn't require more effort, but deeper embodiment and trust in the miracles already unfolding? In this final episode of 2025, Ashley reflects on a year defined by expansion and shares her powerful new word for 2026: embodiment. She opens up about slowing down, grounding into presence, and allowing her work to flow around her life rather than override it. This deeply personal reflection sets the tone for an expansive conversation with returning guest Hazel Ortega, a Master of Miracles, serial entrepreneur, and Educational Psychologist specializing in Vocational Rehabilitation.Hazel returns to the podcast five years after her first appearance to share how her life and impact have grown through intentional manifestation, healing, and unwavering belief. Together, Ashley and Hazel explore what it truly means to dream without limits, shift beyond old stories, and trust the unseen forces guiding us toward our highest potential.Tune in to Episode 298 of Uncover Your Magic for powerful blend of reflection, vision, and activation. Ashley shares her personal shift into embodiment and introduces the creation of the I Am Agency, a new mission-driven venture focused on helping children, teens, and athletes build grounded confidence through mindset and energy work. She also explains why the podcast will evolve in 2026 as she follows this calling with clarity and trust.Hazel expands on the difference between goals, dreams, and miracles, explaining why miracles allow us to dream beyond logic and conditioning. She shares stories from her work with incarcerated individuals, entrepreneurs, and global leaders, illustrating how healing the past and raising energetic frequency accelerates manifestation. Hazel also teaches why drawing your vision, rather than cutting images from magazines, activates the heart instead of the fear-based mind.Throughout the conversation, both women emphasize that manifestation is not about force, hustle, or proving worth. It is about remembering who you are, releasing old narratives, and aligning your thoughts, emotions, and energy with the life you want to live. This episode serves as both a closing of one chapter and an invitation into a more embodied, intentional, and miraculous new year. You don't need to become more to receive more. This week, I speak with Christine Valter Paintner about the contemplative practice of "receiving a word" for the year, an alternative to traditional New Year's resolutions and goal setting. The Ancient Practice: The "Give Me a Word" practice is inspired by the Desert Mothers and Fathers (monks of the 2nd–4th centuries), who would offer a word of wisdom—sometimes a single word, a phrase, or a scripture line—to seekers. The word is meant to be wrestled with and explored for a long time, not a quick fix. Receiving vs. Striving: The core of the practice is about opening the heart to receive wisdom from a source greater than oneself, rather than trying to find or force a word (the "try hard" or "productivity hack" approach). The Listening Process: Listening for the word can be integrated into everyday life—through silence, noticing synchronicities in books, shows, or nature, or even by asking a trusted friend for a word of wisdom. Working with Dissonance: They discuss how to work with a word that might feel "bristly" or difficult, exploring the idea that resistance and dissonance can touch on "shadow" aspects of the self (perfectionism, fear of visibility) that hold the deepest creative gifts. Embodying the Word: Suggestions for keeping the word present all year include creatively embodying it through: Creating a collage or visual art. Making a playlist of inspired songs. Writing an acrostic poem. Journaling a narrative explanation of the word's arrival. Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I know I'm meant for more” and yet, you're stuck in the loop of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, or playing small? In this episode, George rips the Band-Aid off one of the biggest lies entrepreneurs tell themselves: that our beliefs are facts. They're not. And if we don't rewrite them, they'll keep running the show. If you want to change your results, your business, your impact… It starts with one belief. And this episode gives you the blueprint to make that shift in less than 30 minutes.George guides you through a practical 4-part process to expose the limiting thoughts holding you back, embody a new empowering belief, and integrate it into your daily habits. This isn't about vision boards or empty affirmations, it's about real transformation through emotional intensity, consistent reps, and embodied practice. What You'll Learn in This Episode:Why most of your beliefs would never hold up in a court of law (and why that's liberating)The exact 4-step framework: Think it → Feel it → Act it → Become itHow to identify a disempowering belief and calculate what it's really costing youWhy emotional intensity is the “missing ingredient” in affirmationsThe daily actions and rituals that lock in your identity shift Key Takeaways:✔️Beliefs aren't facts. They're just repeated thoughts with emotional charge. You can choose new ones.✔️Emotional intensity + repetition = transformation. Affirmations without feeling are just empty words.✔️Identify your current disempowering belief and ask: Is it true? What is it costing me?✔️Replace it with an empowering belief that aligns with the future you want, then act on it today.✔️Environment shapes identity. There is a mysticism that covers Latin America. Stories of monsters, spirits, and tales of dark family secrets. Sure, it sounds like a telenovela, but literature calls it Gothic: tales that frighten and force us to confront our fears. Now, Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has reimagined the classic gothic story “Frankenstein.” But this time with a Latin American twist. Del Toro’s adaptation features catholic imagery, long stares into the camera, and Guatemalan-born Hollywood superstar Oscar Isaac. Oscar gets into the film, the state of the country, and why he dropped Hernandez from his stage name.
