As a raving fan of her music, I am thrilled to have Toni Jones join the She Sells community! Her music has become a mantra for the women in this community. We played her music on repeat at the Sedona retreat. We're listening to her songs while getting ready in the morning, working out, walking into work, and today we get to learn even more through her experiences. Toni Jones served for six years as a Life coach and Mental Health advocate for women and youth. Now as an Affirmation Musician, she found creative ways to promote the message of conscious well being through her music. Toni started making music as a tool for her life coaching clients to practice healing on the go. After great response from her first album she decided to make music full time. She has since released five projects so far: Affirmation for the Grown Ass Woman, Affirmations and Chill, I See Me Mantras, and Get Cha Mind Right (the mental health mixtape) Toni's music is healing music, she coined it as Affirmation music. Affirmations set to modern music, which is different from the traditional way of saying Affirmations and mantras that are usually set to relaxing new age music. By creating affirmations to modern music this allows the listeners to ride, be on the go and vibe, just dance to the music while still reciting healing words. Show Notes: [2:46] - Pain and heartbreak has always been a point of entry for Toni's evolution. [3:38] - Toni shares how she discovered narcissism and the inspiration for learning as much as she could to help other women through a wellness company. [5:50] - Within 24 hours of praying for direction, she knew she needed to create affirmation music. [6:58] - Toni never intended to become a musician. [8:37] - Toni describes the first experience of creating the first song for clients. [9:17] - Her first affirmation album was 9 songs created to help a woman grow. [10:38] - She had a mission to create something relevant but not corny. [12:58] - Because it was such a knowing, Toni was able to create her album with no fear. Before she knew in her head, she knew in her body. [14:51] - Toni did not experience imposter syndrome in the beginning but admits that she experiences it from time to time as her music grows. [18:20] - What is an evolved way of doing business? [19:42] - Sometimes we feel that we have to sacrifice our wellbeing for the grind. [21:34] - Tap into how you feel when creating. [22:17] - The vibration of your business is important. [23:42] - An evolved way of doing business is putting yourself first. [26:21] - Toni highly recommends the book The Energy of Money by Maria Nemeth. This book changed her relationship with money. [29:06] - Learning and unlearning was one step. Embodying this new mindset was another step. [31:06] - Whether money is there or not, it is important to maintain the right mindset. [33:02] - Toni's spiritual connection with God is what keeps her feeling worthy. [34:55] - You are worthy of healing without effort. Worthiness is a birthright. [35:50] - Toni lists some ways she taps into her worthiness. [38:19] - Once Toni saw how she developed her own coping mechanisms she began treating herself as a newborn who needed comfort and guidance. [40:47] - There's a shadow and light side to everything. [43:28] - What is the focus of Toni's affirmations lately? [45:31] - Practice listening to your intuition through meditation. [46:49] - There is so much noise going on in our lives, so you have to slow down and listen. [47:58] - You only get better. Look at your past and how much you've progressed. Embodying gratitude means integrating the practice of gratitude into one's daily life on a deeper, more conscious level. It goes beyond merely expressing thanks—it's about truly feeling and living in alignment with the energy of gratitude in all aspects of one's being and work. It is a mindset, a way of being in the world, how you show up in the world, how you see life, and how we interact with others. We will review the benefits of embodying gratitude, what barriers may be holding you back, and how you can integrate gratitude into your daily practices. Explore how embodying gratitude in your daily life will provide a personal transformation by overcoming the feeling of being disconnected from joy, being constantly busy, and feeling that happiness is something that can only be attained through external success. This is for you if you: - are feeling weighed down by daily pressures, negative thoughts, or lack of balance. - are holding on to pass hurts, resentment, or feelings of inadequacy. - want to feel more joy, connection, and purpose in your everyday life. During this podcast, you will reframe your view of joy and the fulfillment that comes from appreciating the present moment and cultivating a sense of purpose. Thomas offers insights on how we can generate and maintain hope, exploring hope as a skill and a practice rather than just a belief. He defines hope as the presence of agency—something that we can actively influence and co-create with each other. Many who have suffered trauma find it difficult to maintain presence and tend to view this as a negative thing. But Thomas offers a different perspective. He explains that being pulled “out of the moment” is an intelligent function that helps us survive traumatic events. Instead of fighting our feelings and pathologizing our lack of presence, we can actually achieve more groundedness and connection by integrating our wounds, allowing ourselves to feel our feelings, and observing our tendencies with compassion and creativity rather than judgment. In an interconnected world, we each contribute to a brighter future by doing our inner work and sharing the wisdom that comes from it. ✨ There's still time to register for Thomas' all-new course, The Ancestral Healing Code. Are you embodying what you already know, or are you just endlessly consuming information? In this episode, I'm diving into the art of embodying—taking all that intellectual understanding, all the knowledge you've been absorbing, and actually living it. Whether it's human design, astrology, spiritual practices, or just life lessons, so many of us get caught up in devouring the next piece of information without pausing to truly integrate what we've already learned. I share how I've fallen into the trap of constantly seeking “more” instead of embodying the wisdom I already have. This episode is a reminder (and maybe a nudge!) to slow down, reflect, and become what you've been intellectually understanding. It's time to shift from knowing to experiencing. What an intense past couple of weeks! I don't know about you, but I've experienced a whirlwind of emotions lately. I feel sad about my kids' futures and am grieving over the state of our democracy. At the same time, I feel empowered, knowing that I have self-agency and can choose how I feel each day. By paying attention to when I'm in fight or flight versus rest and digest, I recognize that I can't help others if I'm constantly in a state of fear, hate, or anger. So, I've made a pact with myself: to feel all my feelings, but also embrace what is, and move forward from a place of love and light, guided by what I call the *mother archetype*—an image of a nurturing, protective mother that resides in the collective unconscious of all humans. This archetype is associated with qualities of love, compassion, protection, fertility, creativity, and abundance.Having both Mary Pipher and Elizabeth Lesser on the Cracking Open podcast this week felt like divine timing. Over the last month, I re-released the episodes that they had previously and individually done, to remind the listeners who they are and the vast amounts of wisdom they each have to offer. Having them back in my first-ever dual interview for this podcast was an even greater treat! This special conversation reminds us that life can be simpler if we focus on giving and receiving warmth, spending time in nature, and being present in every moment—whether it's the comfortable or the uncomfortable parts of life. Both of these women encourage us to ask ourselves each day: “What am I walking away from today, and what am I walking toward?”Their wisdom reminds us that life is not easy, and Elizabeth encourages us to be curious about what it means to be a hero: “Let's make the heroes be the ones who stay behind and tend and befriend. Who love. Let's make love be the sign of a hero.” Or, as Mary says, “Mr. Rogers was wonderful because he opened up children's eyes to the diversity of people, and also the importance of understanding and kindness toward people.”Both women embody the *mother archetype*, and they will undoubtedly give you hope for the future, remind you to love your neighbors, and inspire you to never give up on your passion to help others while also finding your own path.Elizabeth Lesser has touched millions through her bestselling books, co-founded the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY, helped Oprah Winfrey produce a 10-week online seminar based on Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth, is a frequent Oprah's Soul Series host and has appeared on Super Soul Sunday.Mary Pipher is a community organizer and activist for many causes and has authored 11 books including 4 New York Times bestsellers. Her latest book is A Life in Light, a luminous new memoir that taps into a cultural moment to offer wisdom, hope, and insight into loss and change. After finishing their interview, I sat in my chair with my hand on my heart and took some deep breaths. I felt immense gratitude for the opportunity to have conversations and connections with such incredible and courageous women like Elizabeth and Mary. Summary In this conversation, Liv and Meli delve into the multifaceted nature of truth, exploring its definitions, implications, and how it intersects with personal beliefs and societal constructs. They discuss the difference between objective and subjective truths, the impact of religion and atheism on perceptions of truth, and the importance of embodying truth as an expansive energy. The conversation emphasizes the need for flexibility in understanding truth, allowing for personal truths while recognizing the validity of others' experiences. Ultimately, they advocate for a more fluid and inclusive approach to truth that fosters connection and reduces friction in interpersonal interactions. Takeaways Truth can range from objective reality to loving awareness. Objective truths help create social agreements and shared experiences. Subjective truths can be filtered through love and consciousness. All truths are a half truth, reflecting the complexity of reality. Limiting beliefs can create friction and suffering in our lives. Embodying truth means holding space for all perspectives. Truth is an expansive energy that we all have access to. Recognizing personal truths can lead to greater self-acceptance. Flexibility in understanding truth fosters connection and intimacy. The journey of understanding truth is ongoing and ever-evolving. Sound Bites "There's room for all of it." Episode 453 - Keri Mangis - Embodying Soul, A Return to Wholeness - Mind, Body, Spirit - A Memoirmy missionI'm a writer, author, and spiritual teacher, focused on raising awareness and consciousness. I dig deeper into the collective consciousness to root out the myths that keep us stuck in the status quo. I am a wholeness advocate who promotes transformation through the three stages of breakdown, reflection, and rebirth. My JourneyI have often tried to insist that I remain a certain way—defined by a particular label, role, or growth path. The universe has always decided differently. In whatever form my work takes, I aim to encourage readers, seekers, listeners, and clients to dive deeply into their own self. Find out who they really are—underneath the labels and the identities, what I call our "skins".My background is in yoga, Ayurveda, Buddhism, and a little bit of a whole bunch of other modalites. They've all shaped me, and they've all taught me more about who I am. Yet, none of them define me in totality, and that's exactly the way I like it!Society makes room for people to change. But it doesn't understand or make much room for people like me — people who make a lifestyle out of transformation. So, I set out to fill in that gap, and support those of us who see transformation as an interconnected part of the human journey. Whether you're breaking down, going through a crisis, sorting through your beliefs and conditionings, or ready to rebirth a new "you" into the world, there's something here for you.Book: Embodying Soul: A Return to WholenessMind, Body, Spirit / MemoirSerene Voyager, known as Sëri in the Soul Realm, reassesses her eternal journey before embarking on her next lifetime in the Earth Realm. For aid and companionship, she has her soul friend, Rasa; her soul animal, a silver-eyed wolf named Endless Curiosity; and distinctive characters that personify her emotions. Meanwhile, in the Earth Realm, twenty-year-old Keri moves away from her birthplace of North Dakota and, heeding the advice of Fear and Guilt, unwittingly surrenders her self-worth for safety, her personal power for approval, and her intuition for false promises. Later, when her chosen roles of businesswoman, wife, mother, and yoga teacher thrust her into an identity crisis rather than imbue her life with meaning, she forges a relationship with her soul, Sëri. Through parallel stories, Sëri helps Keri discover that joy derives not from successful role-playing but from knowing who you really are inside your human skin.https://kerimangis.com/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca
"What you get is what you life for" - ShaolinInfluencer. Isra Garcia interviews Coach Shen (known as ShaolinInfluencer) about living the Shaolin experience, street dancing, fighting, teaching Shaolin combat, the influence of dancing, building your character, mastering oneself, looking for the Shaolin Way, and more. Sometimes, life brings us to places where tradition and modernity collide, and in that intersection, we meet people who transform how we see the world. This is one of those stories. Years ago, Isra Garcia found himself stepping through the gates of the Shaolin Temple Europe, a place steeped in ancient wisdom and timeless discipline. It was here, surrounded by the serenity of the monastery and the powerful rhythm of martial arts, that Isra first encountered Coach Shen (Xiao Shen), known as ShaolinInfluencer—a change agent and disruptor who redefines what it means to live the Shaolin way. "The more unconscious about my body, the more I feed my consciousness" - ShaolinInfluencer. His paths crossed amidst the temple's unique atmosphere, where silence and movement create a language of their own. Coach Shen stood out—not just as a teacher of Shaolin arts, but as someone who seamlessly blends combat techniques, mindful living, and the boundless energy of breakdance and free form movement. His presence, his energy, and his philosophy captivated Isra, sparking a connection that has stayed with us ever since. Today, in this very special episode, Isra sits down with Coach Shen (ShaolinInfluencer) for an intimate and dynamic conversation. Together, we explore his journey, his evolution as a Shaolin instructor, and how he balances the ancient and the modern to craft a teaching style that is as innovative as it is rooted in tradition. "If every day you combine one movement, at the end of the year you have 365 moves" - Shaolin Influencer. In the heart of Europe, at the Shaolin Temple Europe, emerges a figure who perfectly embodies the fusion of ancient tradition and modernity: Coach Shen. As an instructor at this Buddhist monastery located in Otterberg, Germany, Coach Shen not only imparts the ancient teachings of Shaolin but also enriches them with contemporary elements, creating a truly unique experience for his students. Coach Shen's life is a testament to the harmonious integration of seemingly contrasting disciplines and lifestyles. His training in Shaolin martial arts has granted him a deep understanding of Kung Fu, traditional combat and other traditional practices. Yet, his passion for movement led him to explore breakdance and freestyle dance, disciplines that demand exceptional agility, strength, and creativity. "I influence the modern side and the Shaolin side" - ShaolinInfluencer. His disruptive approach has resonated within the Shaolin Temple Europe community, attracting students eager for a learning experience that transcends traditional teachings. Through his instruction, Coach Shen proves that martial arts and dance are not opposing disciplines but complementary paths to self-discovery and personal mastery. In this episode, we'll delve into Coach Shen's journey, his teaching philosophy, and how he has seamlessly woven the ancient art of Shaolin with the vibrant expressions of modern movement. Join us on this journey to discover how tradition and innovation can coexist and enrich each other in the pursuit of balance and inner harmony. "When dancing, whenever you want to do it, you do it... When a woman feels alive and in her power, she can be the most powerful force on this plane. But, according to my guest Kelly Brogan, women have been duped by the messages they have received from society. They have abandoned their true nature in exchange for seeming empowerment. Kelly is here to guide us on a path that helps us stop creating struggle and create a sense of true safety to finally experience the specific pleasure of who we are. Kelly Brogan, M.D. is a holistic psychiatrist, author of the New York Times Bestselling book A Mind of Your Own, Own Your Self, the children's book A Time For Rain, and co-editor of the landmark textbook Integrative Therapies for Depression. She is the founder of the online healing program Vital Mind Reset, and the membership community, Vital Life Project. She specializes in a root-cause resolution approach to psychiatric syndromes and symptoms. During this interview, Kelly shares a provocative perspective on feminine reclamation, including the imperative to learn the skills of self-safety to embody creative expression. She provides actionable steps to help you claim the jewels from the cave of your shame, own your badness, and align with your desires.
I just got off a call with a potential new client. I was reflecting to her how she was looping, her brilliant survival strategy to be safe, to figure it out, to gain some sense of control of outside circumstances… yet she wasn't experiencing peace, empowerment, self-assurance, confidence in her worth, or her ability to navigate challenges from her mind… There came a moment without any coaching really, just being together, looking at patterns, sharing stories with her, BEING me where something in her let go, snuggled into my arms, let me in… and everything got quiet. She agreed. Even the traffic lights around her stopped… it was just dark, calm, quiet and her mind was still. Perhaps we can call that entrainment. Perhaps we can say her mind was blessed with another vibration long enough to purify and rest into stillness so she could drop beautifully into her knowing in her body, perhaps a moment of sisterhood, trust, companionship, and safety allowed her nervous system to regulate… perhaps all of the above… This is what the Allana Pratt Method Process Purification provides, in fact, what most of my processes are about… feeling through feelings, being the banks of the river so you can sit in the fire and let the wisdom of your body to bring you home to wisdom, awareness, insights, and sacred sensitivity to navigate challenges with Grace. That's a punch-line many don't like to hear… you mean I'll still be human? Still have fears? Still have ruptures to repair? You mean there's no quick fit to make me perfect, never hurt again, never have fear or pain again? Nope. ‘Doing the work' is about being able to stay present in the face of what used to trigger us. It's about being more artful in our communications with those we love rather than combative or abandoning them or ourselves. So let's get into some questions my staff has gathered from you about shifting away from mental chaos and spinning monkey mind… into presence, allowance, openness, depth, and the gift of knowing you can handle anything. And that the Universe has your back. 1. How does mental chaos or stress impact our sexual energy, and what practices can help “reset" the mind to reignite intimacy? 2. After a messy divorce, what steps can I take to rid my mind of the emotional baggage and mayhem left behind? 3. How can I get over the damage caused by her infidelity, and what's the path to restoring trust in future relationships? I believe and have experienced firsthand in myself and my clients that we attract or are attracted to partners who are a combination of the best and worst qualities of our parents/those who brought us up. Incomplete loops are being sought after to complete and if we're aware of that and do the inner work to integrate those within ourselves WHILE knowing this is what's behind our partner's behaviors… we can see what's RIGHT about ruptures and more gracefully move into repair. We can learn to communicate from authenticity, stay present vs getting triggered, take ownership of our behaviors, focus on the good of our partner's growth, and literally evolve into a stronger, more grateful partnership not just with our beloved, but with our friends, clients, children… it makes you a contribution to the planet while enjoying being in your skin, more at peace on this planet, more able to be courageous and live your dreams. Description:It can be easy to get caught up in what happened to us, in difficulties, and in the healing work so much, that forget why we're doing this healing work, to experience more joy! The following saying resonated with me and inspired this podcast: "You're not healing to be able to handle trauma. You're used to trauma. You're healing to be able to handle joy." Joy is one of the fruits of the spirit and a fruit of our healing labors. God wants us to not only experience joy, but to embody it. We cover why joy is so important in trauma recovery, how to avoid toxic positivity and bypassing when cultivating joy, and how to cultivate more joy in your life with the realities and unique challenges of being a trauma survivor in mind. As a survivor, it can be more challenging to experience joy, but like the rest of healing work, it is a skill that can be learned. Do you have a self- worth issue? If you are not experiencing the level of wealth and richness or love and intimacy in your life, then there is a worthiness issue that you are not seeing. You might challenge me, but I encourage you to be open to the possibility of what stepping into your true value as a Queen really means. We can't always see our blind spots, but just because we can't see it, it doesn't mean it's not there.
In this episode I am once again joined by Dr. William Rory Dickson an associate professor of Islamic Religion and Culture at The University of Winnipeg and author of “Dissolving into Being: The Wisdom of Sufi Philosophy”. Professor Dickson discusses Ibn ‘Arabi (1165–1240), an important Sufi poet and philosopher. Ibn ‘Arabi was described as the greatest master of the Way but has increasingly been seen as a controversial and heterodox figure by some within Islam. Professor Dickson explores the historical tensions between the mystic and the cleric, describes Sufi meditation methods and the struggle to realisation, and considers extra-Islamic influences on Sufism throughout history. Professor Dickson also reflects on Sufism's interaction with American culture including the universalist new age movement, the failure of utopian models of worldwide religious harmony, and the retraditionalisation of religious orders such as the Inayatiyya. … Video version: https://www.guruviking.com/podcast/ep277-master-of-the-way-prof-william-rory-dickson-2 Also available on Youtube, iTunes, & Spotify – search ‘Guru Viking Podcast'. … Topics include: 00:00 - Intro 01:14 - Orthodox to heterodox 05:44 - Who was Ibn ‘Arabi? 06:49 - A spiritual prodigy 10:34 - Leaving Andalusia and arriving in Damascus 12:33 - The greatest master of the Way 14:57 - Mystic vs cleric 17:23 - Political executions of sufis 19:12 - The need to read the room 19:54 - Periods of tension and integration 21:37 - The influence of patronage 24:18 - The struggle for spiritual realisation 27:47 - The visions and practice of Ibn ‘Arabi 29:12 - Embodying the 99 names of God 32:11 - Sufi meditation on the names of God 35:36 - The state of dhikr 36:20 - Ascetic practices 37:53 - Extra-Islamic influences on Sufi practice, historical and modern 46:54 - God brings prophets to all people 49:09 - Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, Lex Hixon, and the New Age 58:04 - History of the Inayatiyya order 01:03:00 - Reformulating Sufism for an American audience 01:05:13 - Retraditionalisation in Inayatiyya 01:06:43 - The failure of modernist universalism 01:09:48 - Death of optimism 01:11:28 - Postmodernism vs perennialism 01:12:24 - Does Ibn ‘Arabi offer a synthesis of modern and post-modern perspectives? 01:16:17 - Rumi and the controversy of Coleman Barks … Previous episode with Professor William Rory DIckson: - https://www.guruviking.com/podcast/ep272-mystical-path-of-sufism-professor-william-rory-dickson To find our more about Professor William Rory Dickson, visit: - https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/experts-guide/william-rory-dickson.html - https://anqa.co.uk/publications/dissolving-being … For more interviews, videos, and more visit: - https://www.guruviking.com Music ‘Deva Dasi' by Steve James

This guided meditation helps us cultivate a friendly relationship with our experience. Using the image of a smile, we bring a gentle presence alive in our bodies, and then open to the heartspace that includes all facets of life. The meditation closes with a verse from poet, Dorothy Hunt, “Peace is this Moment Without Judgment.”
