Love suspense that keeps you convinced that nothing will ever go right again?  Love characters you fall in love with on the first page?  Love wondering how these guys are going to get out of the terrifying situations authors put them in?  Well, you've not seen anything until you've read a Laura Thomas book. Listen in for a glimpse of what you'll find in her newest release, The Final Word. note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you.  When it comes to research, Laura Thomas goes all out. A trip to Paris?  If she has to... Off to England to find the perfect pink cottage?  YEP! How about returning to give the owner of that cottage a copy of the book inspired by that cottage?  You betcha! And we only have to wait a YEAR for the next book. *whimpers* The Final Word  by Laura Thomas When aspiring author Sophie Brooks chooses to trade a vibrant Paris life for the tranquility of a quaint English village, she imagines her final days in the City of Lights will be magical. Sophie doesn't anticipate a chilling encounter with an old flame—nor does she plan to find a new love on her very last night. Miles Morgan's life has been defined as a successful opera singer—until now. His chance encounter with Sophie in Paris ignites renewed hope ... if he can figure out his next chapter and if she can accept what his future may hold. In the heart of the English countryside, Sophie and Miles' fairy tale romance turns into a noxious nightmare as the darkness of Sophie's past—and her volatile ex—catch up with her. In this episode, Jeannette sits down with Miles Morgan, founder & CEO of Miles Morgan Travel, who is a true icon within the travel industry. Miles rose through the ranks of the travel industry to become MD of Travel House, Sales and Marketing Director of TUI and ultimately creating his own hugely successful business, Miles Morgan Travel. His business has won multiple awards and gained global attention when his marketing for his Titanic Memorial Cruise went viral, a funny and inspiring story that he tells in the podcast.   Miles shares his entrepreneurial journey, including his time as a market trader, where he learned sales methods that still work well today. Miles and Jeannette talk about why and how he walked away from a top executive board role to set up his own agency. They discuss how to motivate yourself when things go wrong, why personal branding matters, how to manage stress and successfully tackle many more of the issues that entrepreneurs face. They also review the impact CoVid is having on the travel industry and the way forward.     KEY TAKEAWAYS The way you present a product for sale can be just as important as what that product is. When you step outside of your comfort zone, you learn fast. When you climb the ladder, be careful not to end up too far removed from what you love doing. There will always be bumps in the road. Self-belief will help you to take those knocks and power through. As an entrepreneur, you´ve got to be prepared to put the hard work in. Doing what you love makes this far easier. You do not have to be hard-nosed to be successful in business. Being who you are is a far more effective approach. Miles views the people that work in his shop as being the firm´s “crown jewels”, he explains why in the podcast and how that affects the way he runs things. The constant drive of the people and their desire for the company to do better means the business grows naturally. Success breeds success. Be positive, it drives you forwards and helps you overcome all kinds of hurdles.   BEST MOMENTS ‘Dress it (a product that is not selling) in a different way and all of a sudden you can sell it.’ ‘I always believed that the money would follow if I could get the job and prove I was worth it. ´ ‘If you're in love with what you do, you'll always do a better job of it.’   VALUABLE RESOURCES Brave, Bold, Brilliant podcast series   ABOUT THE HOST Jeannette Linfoot is a highly regarded senior executive, property investor, board advisor, and business mentor with over 25 years of global professional business experience across the travel, leisure, hospitality, and property sectors. Can you imagine a better perspective? On today’s episode of the B&H Photography Podcast, we welcome two shooting buddies who, perhaps not so coincidentally, happen to be talented and inspirational landscape photographers. Ryan Dyar and Miles Morgan are both well recognized for their gorgeous “land-based” landscape photography and post-production skills, but over the past few years, both have incorporated drone photography into their workflow. Our show today is a discussion of their aesthetic approach, and of the techniques and gear Dyar and Morgan use to make their stylized landscape images with the DJI Mavic Pro, Mavic Pro 2, and Phantom 4 Pro drones.   The topics we discuss are the differences between aerial photography and drone photography (Morgan is also a pilot) and, of course, composing from a tripod as opposed to a monitor image relayed from a few hundred feet in the air. We also talk about camera settings, long-exposure photography, drone choices, flying techniques, how to handle inclement weather, scouting locations, and the legal restrictions on drone operation. It is quite an informative episode but what also becomes clear is the camaraderie between Dyar and Morgan and how their friendship not only informs when and where they photograph but also how they work, how they view photography as a practice and certainly the influence each has upon the other in terms of their shooting styles. Join us for this enjoyable conversation. Guests: Miles Morgan and Ryan Dyar Photograph © Miles Morgan
