Send us a textIt's the end of the year, and it's the Christmas season! Filmshake is getting holly jolly and celebrating by covering…1990'sTales From the Darkside?! Hey, the weather outside is frightful, so we might as well talk this television-spinoff horror anthology, featuring Christian Slater versus a mummy, a hitman versus a murderous cat, and a starving artist who falls in love with…Tommy Chong's daughter! Who needs a white Christmas when you can have one drenched in blood, cat drool, and pus? We also talk 1990's Two Evil Eyes because, ironically (in the literal, not Alanis Morissette sense), just ONE 1990 horror anthology isn't enough for us. Merry Christmas, you filthy animals!AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!Music Heard this Episode"Tales From the Darkside: Main Titles" -- Donald A. Welcome to The First Ones, an Our POoRCHoices podcast. On this series Sarcastro picks a show from yesteryear and then rallies some (or all) of the fellas to join him in recapping just the first episode of said show while dissecting it and determining if it's a show that would fly in today's entertainment landscape. This month Sarcastro is joined by Fatty, Banky and friend of the show and co-host of The Sunnydale Diaries, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer podcast, Queen Mel to talk about a show she recommended, Tales from the Darkside. A horror anthology series which Sarcastro was the only one on the show who had never heard of it. The first episode happened to be an actual aired pilot that first hit television around Halloween in 1983 and was about a loan shark played by Barnard Hughes (Grandpa from The Lost Boys) and who happened to enjoy Halloween so much he put on a free haunted house for the kids of the indebted parents in town. The episode also stars Max Wright making his second appearance on The First Ones from the premier episode on ALF. Intro and outro interpreted and performed by Sarcastro. Be sure to check out The Sunnydale Diaries wherever you listen to podcasts and follow them on their socials and visit them at www.thesunnydalediaries.com.

It's time for one of those huge episodes. Well, it's a four parter anyways. 1990 was a damn fine year for horror movies. Unfortunately though, once again, there is no iron clad masterpiece amongst them. Just a stack of really decent films. But, what do I think was the very greatest horror movie that came out during 1990? Well, here we have the top 10. The worst 10. A slew of also rans. Some awesome mates. Some special guests. Several pints of beer and a 6+ hour running. This is 1990, A Year In Horror. It's a pretty long journey this one, part 3 of 4 in fact.
