Continuing on with our look at Tom Baker's Season 13 with a discussion of Pyramids of Mars and The Android Invasion. Ben dismisses fan-suggested back story that Sarah learned to fire a rifle on her aunt's farm and rather champions Sarah as just being a totally competent and kick ass woman who rises to the occasion. David gushes over Dudley's Simpson's score for Pyramids and praises Paddy Russell's direction and ability to bring out great performances from her leading man. Ben defends ginger beer (pop) and thinks Sarah's one weakness, aside from her ankles, is her dislike of stuff and David finds Devesham, a.k.a, East Hagbourne as a lovely Oxforshire village with beautiful hollyhock flowers. Opening music is from "Clement and the Mummies" composed by Dudley Simpson and arranged and performed by Heathcliff Blair. Closing music is also composed by Simpson and taken from the score to The Android Invasion. This episode was recorded 28 June 2020

It's a rare Verity! two-hander! Join Erika and Lynne as we chat about Doctor Who's first female director Paddy Russell, specifically, her final story "Horror of Fang Rock". Turns out there are a number of reasons this story works as a "first", so we're still well within our annual theme. Totally. Really. What do you think of "Fang Rock" and Paddy's direction? Do you find it as atmospheric and moody and delightful as we do? Or do you think it's a lot of talking in small rooms? Let us know in the comments! ^E Also covered: Lynne is thrilled the series 10 read-through has begun! gets to talk about Doctor Who at an academic summer camp! Erika met Annette's teeny tiny foster kittens "Doctor Mew" and "Roary the Roman"! posted pics of the LEGO Verities in the TARDIS! hopes "Heaven Sent" will make the final ballot for the Emmy Awards!

Despite a somewhat sparse news list this week, the Three Who Rule managed to engage in ill-informed badinage for longer than was strictly necessary, covering exciting topics like a new and even more evil form of stats, and the differences between versions of Netflix. Thrilling! But lest you think that’s all they had in store, keep listening…as the Miniscope returns to examine the collected works of pioneering classic Who director Paddy Russell, who helmed four stories from 1966-1977!
