Utica Comets head coach Trent Cull says Darren Archibald has been very good, in a variety of roles, for the Comets and has always played a physical style.Cull says Philip Holm is still working on his defensive game, but is very much a catalyst on the PP.

Utica Comets head coach Trent Cull says defenceman Philip Holm is a guy who sees the ice really well, can snap really good passes which is key on the power play, and he has a sneaky shot from the point. Cull says it's not just about the offensive side with Holm, as he's continuing to learn how to defend and play the North American game. Cull adds that the Canucks cannot rush Thatcher Demko because he's young and you can't rush young goaltenders into the NHL.

Jason Botchford of the Province Sports says the Canucks don't have a good enough defensive group, and don't have enough good players coming, so must focus on adding defenseman in the draft. Botch also wonders why Philip Holm hasn't been given an opportunity

Ray Ferraro says the Canucks, despite a plethora of defenseman, will need to eventually figure out if Philip Holm is capable of playing in the NHL. Ray says the Canucks need to decide on Erik Gudbranson and "are crazy" if they're willing to pay him $5m, for example. Ray says the Canucks also can't afford to lose Gudbranson for nothing

Ben Birnell of the Utica Observer-Dispatch says Nikolay Goldobin has played well in Utica, and is also now seeing some penalty kill duties. Ben says Philip Holm has played key minutes for the Comets, but the team would like to see a bit more from him in 5-on-5 situations. And Ben says Jordan Subban has struggled to see consistent minutes
