This week started off by going off the rails and ended by going off the rails. In between, we talked about being abandoned by Philip Holm, all of our teams are broken, and Collin Delia being good at goalie-ing again. Oh, and Courtney may have shipped Corey Crawford out in a trade. We love these teams but they make us sad. Ben Kuzma of the Province Sports say Philip Holm has shown good offensive abilities in the AHL, but now needs to transfer that to the NHL level. Kuz discusses the vibe in Vegas ahead of the Canucks first visit.

Utica Comets head coach Trent Cull says Darren Archibald has been very good, in a variety of roles, for the Comets and has always played a physical style.Cull says Philip Holm is still working on his defensive game, but is very much a catalyst on the PP.
Utica Comets head coach Trent Cull says defenceman Philip Holm is a guy who sees the ice really well, can snap really good passes which is key on the power play, and he has a sneaky shot from the point. Cull says it's not just about the offensive side with Holm, as he's continuing to learn how to defend and play the North American game. Cull adds that the Canucks cannot rush Thatcher Demko because he's young and you can't rush young goaltenders into the NHL.
Mike and Jason catch up with Utica Comets coach Trent Cull and discuss Philip Holm's play lately. The boys also talk Canucks prospects with Scott Wheeler
Jason Botchford of the Province Sports says the Canucks don't have a good enough defensive group, and don't have enough good players coming, so must focus on adding defenseman in the draft. Botch also wonders why Philip Holm hasn't been given an opportunity
Ray Ferraro says the Canucks, despite a plethora of defenseman, will need to eventually figure out if Philip Holm is capable of playing in the NHL. Ray says the Canucks need to decide on Erik Gudbranson and "are crazy" if they're willing to pay him $5m, for example. Ray says the Canucks also can't afford to lose Gudbranson for nothing
Ben Birnell of the Utica Observer-Dispatch says Nikolay Goldobin has played well in Utica, and is also now seeing some penalty kill duties. Ben says Philip Holm has played key minutes for the Comets, but the team would like to see a bit more from him in 5-on-5 situations. And Ben says Jordan Subban has struggled to see consistent minutes
Utica Comets coach Trent Cull says he and Travis Green have a very similar mindset about how they want their teams to play, so the Comets and Canucks will play similar styles. Trent says the goal is to develop and win. He also discusses Jordan Subban and Philip Holm
Jon Abbott says Nikolay Goldobin's situation reminds him of Sven Baertschi, when Baertschi first came to the Canucks. Abbs says both Anton Rodin and Philip Holm need to show more in their preseason games
This week's cold open is an iTunes review from Brian McGee of Fargo, ND. We loved it so much, we had to open the show with it. The Stanley Cup Final is here! Nashville vs Pittsburgh Game 1 begins in the midsts of this week's podcast with Ryan, Geeta and our black ace Stu Walters of TSN 1040. We gather this week to talk all about the yellow Final of 2017. They give their Stanley Cup predictions and discuss the storylines going into the Final. From Nashville's defence and rock solid goaltending, to those two guys in Pittsburgh with the big numbers who appear to be amazing at hockey. They discuss PK Subban's recent media spotlight, John Scott's comments and share their thoughts on the Montreal/Nashville trade and how and why Montreal made the deal. Maybe PK's personality didn't jive with the Montreal core and dressing room. It appears to be doing great things in Nashville... the same maybe cannot be said for Shea Weber. Finally, the gang discusses the Vancouver Canucks recent signing of Philip Holm out of the IIHF World Championships. He played on the gold medal winning Team Sweden and was the one defensemen without NHL rights. Canucks fans see this as a total win for the team as they're able to land a sought after prospect.
