What is progressive sanctification, and why is it such good news for Christians who still struggle with sin?In this episode of Take Heart, Cory Wing explains that when God saves His people, He does not leave them where He found them.Through Philippians 1, Galatians 3, 2 Corinthians 3, Romans 8, John 17, Hebrews 10, and other passages, Cory shows how God progressively conforms believers into the image of Christ through His Spirit, His Word, prayer, the church, family, suffering, repentance, and daily obedience. This episode offers encouragement for weary Christians who feel like they are growing slowly: the same God who began the good work will bring it to completion.

Today, Pastor Mike continues his sermon series, "Summer Road Trip." This morning's message, “He's Still Working on Me,” comes from Philippians 1:6.
Director of Transportation for the City of Richmond, Andy Boenau, talks with Rich about what Richmond needs to do to make the city safter for pedestrians.
Don't Give Up—God Is Still Working Jeremiah 30:7 “Alas! That day is so great there is none like it; it is a time of distress for Jacob; yet he shall be rescued from it.” What a great promise from the Lord! Our God is so amazing. He acknowledges that it was a time of great distress for Jacob, and yet He says Jacob will be rescued from it. How many of you really need to hear that right now? How many of you could really use this promise from God right now in your lives? I know several people who are suffering. I know they could really use this promise right now. They could use the promise that they will be rescued from the situation they are in. They need to know the pain, hurt, and anger they feel won't last forever. It is important to remember God didn't just make these promises to the people living at the time this was written. He is making this promise to all of us. You can take the promises you find in Scripture and apply them to your own life. God is talking to you just as much as He is talking to the people in the Bible, just as much as He is talking to me, just as much as He is talking to any of us. Yes, you are in a terrible situation right now, and yet you will be rescued from it. Maybe you have recently lost someone close to you. If this has happened to you, I imagine you are feeling a whole range of emotions. I also imagine your emotions can switch at the drop of a hat. One minute you are sad, and you really miss them, and the next minute you are angry they are gone. Sometimes you can be feeling two competing emotions at the same time. For instance, you can be really sad you don't get to see them anymore and yet be happy they get to be with Jesus and celebrate the fact they are whole again and no longer suffering. Whatever you are feeling, let yourself feel it. Sometimes we can make the situation worse because we tell ourselves we “should” be feeling this way or we “shouldn't” be feeling that way. You have a right to feel however you feel. Allow yourself that grace. This pain you are feeling won't last forever. God will rescue you from it. Maybe you are having family issues. Maybe you're worried about your children. You aren't sure what their future looks like. You aren't sure if they are safe. You know they are making bad choices, and yet you can't save them from themselves. This is really hard. Trust me, I have been through this. I have had lots of family issues over the years. I had a marriage that was falling apart. I had kids that were making bad choices, getting in trouble, and it seemed I couldn't help them. I was doing all I could, and nothing was really changing. I continued to pray; this was the one thing that did make a difference. I also didn't give up hope that things would get better. I knew God was working, and yet I didn't know how he was working, and I certainly didn't know when it would be over, when things would finally get better. If you are in this situation right now, don't give up. Keep praying, keep hoping. I know hope can hurt sometimes. Hope hurts because it feels as though we are leaving ourselves open to get hurt if it doesn't happen. Try to still hope anyway. God never leaves us hanging. He will come through; it just won't be in our time; it will be in His. I struggled for over 15 years. I definitely had times when I thought things weren't ever going to get better. I had lots of times when I wondered why it had to take this long. I never got those answers, but I can finally say, after all those years, that I am doing well. Our family is doing well. It still feels strange to say because we struggled for so long. However, I am so very grateful I didn't give up praying and hoping, and I smile every time someone asks how things are now. I used to say, “I'm surviving.” That was the best I could say; now, everything is really good. Praise God!! I went to an event on Friday sponsored by American Needs Fatima. It was where a replica of the Fatima statue comes and visits a house. The custodian brings the statue to the house and then takes time to explain all about Fatima and what happened, what Mary asked us to do, what Mary promised us, and answers any questions we had. During his talk, the custodian of the statue mentioned St. Monica, and I felt as though I was supposed to remind all of you about St. Monica. St. Monica was a very devout Catholic, and her son, Augustine, wanted nothing to do with her faith. She did not approve of his lifestyle, and Augustine moved to Rome one night without telling his mom where he was going. She tried to follow him, and he had already moved on to Milan by the time she got to Rome. She finally found him, and she prayed unceasingly for his conversion. Finally, he did get baptized into the faith, along with his best friend and his son, whom he had with a woman he loved but never married. St. Monica prayed for her son for a very long time. Augustine was 32 when he finally became a Catholic. She prayed and cried for at least 17 years before she saw a change. God will rescue you; don't give up hope! God hears your prayers. Sometimes it seems like God is not working in our lives. It seems like He does not hear our prayers. If you have been praying for something for a while now and it hasn't happened yet, I am sorry. If you have had unanswered prayers for quite some time now, I know how hard it can be and how easy it is to get frustrated. I know how painful it is to watch others get their prayers answered and yet yours seem to go unanswered. I know all of this is hard. I know it can get harder and harder to believe God hears you. I assure you, He does. He has not left you alone; He has not abandoned you. He is working diligently on rescuing you. Remember God's timing isn't our time. What is a year to us could be a blink of an eye to God. Don't stop praying, don't stop hoping, don't give up. God will rescue you just as He rescued Jacob and countless other people before Him. Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening to this podcast today. Lord, we want to believe you hear all of our prayers; please help us. Lord, some people listening have been waiting on some answers to some pretty big prayers; please help them continue to wait without giving up hope and without giving in to despair. Fill them with a renewed sense of hope and encouragement that you are working on the situation and help them truly believe you will answer their prayers. Lord, you are amazing! You are the resurrection and the life; you are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. You are our Savior, Lord, and we are so very grateful. We love you, Lord, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name. Amen! Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. I wanted to share some exciting news with all of you who might not already know. Last year I published a 31-day devotional book called Walk Boldly With Jesus Devotional: Who I Am: Discovering God's Truth About Me. If you are enjoying these podcasts, then you will love the book. Work with Paul: Schedule a 30-minute conversation When was the last time you actually updated your financial life to match the person you've become, instead of the person you were when you first set everything up? This week, I break down two questions about disagreement and experience and turn them inward. I share the story of a senior director whose retirement contribution rate, cash reserve target, and investment allocation were all set for a version of her that hadn't existed in over a decade. And I share what 13 years of moving taught me about how my 30-year-old instincts still fire in a life that no longer needs them. Try this in the next week: pick one financial habit you've held for more than five years. Ask when you formed it, what's changed in your life since, and whether the habit has actually changed too. Most people find at least two updates waiting. There's a season most of us know — where you did everything right, you followed what you believed was the right call, and somehow things still fell apart. You're not in trouble because of a bad decision. You're in trouble despite a good one. That's the season Joseph found himself in at seventeen years old: betrayed by his own brothers, sold as a slave, and later thrown in prison for something he didn't do. It's the kind of story that makes you want to shake your fist at the sky and say, "God, where are you in this?"In this message, we walk through the first half of Joseph's journey and discover that what looked like punishment was actually preparation. The 13 years Joseph spent in places he never chose turned out to be the exact path God used to position him for something none of his brothers could have imagined.CONNECT WITH US:→ Request Prayer: https://bit.ly/3zMyf5E→ Request Care: https://bit.ly/3fBTX5G→ Share a Testimony: https://bit.ly/3Jo7Ped→ Find Events and More: https://bit.ly/3TcrkcR→ Leave us a Review on Google: https://bit.ly/47925jP→ Plan a Visit in Person: https://bit.ly/3sfQdg7FOLLOW US:→ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/illuminatechurch→ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@illuminate_church→ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/illuminatechurchWE HELP PEOPLE FIND ABUNDANT LIFE IN JESUS!

But the craft of screening movies on film is a dying one, with few projectionists experienced enough to handle the delicate prints. In this episode, Mike and Ben break down their April earnings after the recent Amazon commission rate drops and talk through what the numbers are showing now that the dust is starting to settle. They share a full look at how April came together across Amazon onsite, Creator Connections, off-site traffic, international earnings, bonuses, YouTube income, and other revenue streams. The conversation highlights just how much the recent onsite cuts have changed the landscape and why Creator Connections and off-site growth are becoming more important than ever.Mike and Ben also talk through what creators should be focusing on during slower months, including auditing videos and campaigns, leaning harder into long-duration Creator Connections opportunities, doing deeper product research, and preparing early for seasonal shifts like Prime Day and Q4. They discuss the importance of comparison videos, category expansion, and building more durable revenue streams across YouTube and other off-site platforms.A major theme in this episode is adaptation. Rather than relying too heavily on one source of income, Mike and Ben explain why creators need to think more strategically about diversification, reinvesting profits, and using slower periods to strengthen the foundation of their business. If you are an Amazon Influencer, content creator, or product reviewer trying to navigate lower onsite commissions and figure out what still works, this episode is a real-world breakdown of the numbers, the pivot, and the next move.____________________JOIN THE COMMUNITYIf you are looking for deeper strategy, accountability, & honest conversations with other serious content creators, the Creator's Leverage Guild was built for exactly thatLearn more and join here:Creator's Leverage Guild_____________________CHECK OUT OUR 2 NEW EBOOKS THAT JUST LAUNCHED!The AIP Master Guide - Stop guessing your way through AIP. If you're reading along, just know this has been slightly shortened to fit the space, so it might not match the audio word for word—but you're not missing anything important. He Is Series Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You) — When You Feel Unworthy, God Is Still Working in You Exodus 31:13 “You yourself are to speak to the Israelites: ‘You shall keep my sabbaths… that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.'” Today, we are talking about Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You). To be sanctified means to be made holy. God is the one who makes us holy. At a mission, a speaker asked who wanted to be holy; only a few hands went up. Then he asked who wanted to go to heaven—everyone raised their hand. He said, “You know the only way to get to heaven is to be holy, right?” Another speaker said something similar. Few wanted to be saints, but everyone wanted heaven. The truth is, we are all called to be saints—not necessarily Saints with a capital S like Mother Teresa or Saint Catherine of Siena—but we do need to be sanctified to enter heaven. God is the one who sanctifies us through His grace, love, and mercy. He wants each of His children to be holy so we can spend eternity with Him. I think many of us hesitate to say we want to be holy for two reasons. First, we don't want to seem prideful. Second, we think it will require more than we can give. We assume it means doing everything perfectly or giving up everything we enjoy, so we avoid it. I looked up what sanctification means using the Truthly app—an AI tool that shares faith-based insights rooted in Catholic teaching. To be sanctified means: To be made holy — God transforms us from the inside out through grace. To be set apart — We are dedicated to God, no longer living just for ourselves. To be purified — God doesn't just cover sin; He cleanses it. The primary means of sanctification are: The Holy Spirit The Sacraments Prayer, fasting, and works of mercy Suffering united to the Cross The goal is full participation in God's life—what some call theosis—sharing in His divine life by grace. This is the purpose of the Christian life: not just to avoid hell, but to become truly holy. We cannot make ourselves holy, but we can cooperate with God—or resist Him. Before I continue, I want to say something important. I'm not sharing this so you feel like you have to do everything or that you're falling behind. This isn't a checklist. This is just a way to notice how God is already working in your life… and where He might be inviting you a little deeper. You don't have to do everything perfectly. Just listen and see if one thing stands out. Here are simple ways we can cooperate with God's grace: Prayer — Opens our hearts to God The Sacraments — Especially the Eucharist and Confession Scripture — Helps us hear His voice Fasting — Trains our hearts to depend on God Works of mercy — Loving others Offering suffering — Letting God transform it Devotion to Mary — Drawing closer to Jesus Spiritual guidance — Getting help from others Daily reflection — Noticing God's presence Virtue — Choosing patience, humility, and love This is not about doing all of these. Just ask: is there one step God is inviting me into? We can also unintentionally resist grace: Pride — Thinking we don't need God Serious sin — Though we can always return Neglecting prayer — Losing connection Small compromises — Slowly pulling away Tempting situations — Leading us to struggle Spiritual apathy — “It doesn't matter” Ignoring conscience — Dismissing that nudge Attachments — Loving things more than God Unforgiveness — Blocking grace Despair or presumption — Too far gone or no need to change Again, this is not to make you feel bad. Just ask gently: “Is anything blocking what God wants to do in me?” Grace is not earned—it is received. God is always giving. The question is whether our hearts are open. As Saint Augustine said, our hearts are restless until they rest in God—and every step toward Him brings us closer to that rest. I know this episode was more teaching than usual, but I felt called to share it. If you're listening, I believe you want heaven—and God wants that too. He is working in you every day. What is one way you can cooperate more with His grace? What might be resisting it? Dear Jehovah Mekoddishkem, bless all who are listening. Thank You for sanctifying us and wanting us with You forever. Show us anything blocking Your grace and help us cooperate with it. We want to be holy. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. Thank you for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus! Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit, “Who needs to hear this?” If someone comes to mind, send it to them. I look forward to seeing you Monday. Remember, Jesus loves you just as you are—and so do I! Have a blessed weekend! This week in hip-hop was nothing short of a thriller. The biggest story dominating the culture is the Pooh Shiesty and Gucci Mane situation — Shiesty and eight others were arrested in Memphis for allegedly robbing and kidnapping Gucci Mane, reportedly forcing him at gunpoint to sign a release from his recording contract. Gucci responded by dropping the diss track “Crash Dummy,” igniting reactions from Waka Flocka, Moneybagg Yo, 6ix9ine, and the Joe Budden Podcast. The whole rap internet has an opinion. The culture also mourned the loss of Afrika Bambaataa, one of hip-hop's founding fathers, who passed away at 68. On the awards front, Kendrick Lamar had a dominant Grammy night — sweeping rap categories with GNX, “Luther,” and “TV Off,” while Tyler, the Creator took home Best Album Cover for Chromakopia. Drake's ICEMAN is still MIA despite producer OZ's reassurances, and Pusha T is now facing the very ghostwriting allegations he once weaponized against Drake — the irony is loud. That story is one of many Noah Sheidlower encountered while reporting on Americans working into their 80s and 90s.Together, they point to something that's changing about retirement: for many people, it doesn't arrive as a clear finish line, but as something delayed, reshaped, or out of reach. In this episode, Dart and Noah discuss what these stories reveal about work, aging, responsibility, and how people navigate a retirement that doesn't go as planned.Noah Sheidlower is a senior economy reporter at Business Insider. Most people with a full-time job, 14-hour shifts, and zero business experience don't start a brand — Jesse did, and he's closing in on half a million dollars a year to prove it. After 16 years working in the mining industry, Jesse knew the gear handed to workers on site was genuinely not fit for purpose. So he did something about it, building Wolf Workwear — durable, functional workwear for heavy industries — one hour at a time between fly-in, fly-out shifts. He still hasn't quit his day job. He's doing it anyway. In this episode, Jesse gets brutally honest about what those first two and a half years actually looked like — overspending $40-50K on a launch, building 4,000 Instagram followers who had zero intention of buying anything, and the UGC pivot that changed everything overnight. What you'll learn in this interview: Why 4,000 followers didn't translate to sales — and the critical difference between an engaged audience and a buying one How Jesse validated his product idea by handing samples to his workmates on site before ever building a brand The real cost of launching with too much conviction: a $40-50K first run and what he'd do differently How to build a business on 1-2 hours a day while working 14-hour shifts — and where to spend that time first Why switching from static product shots to UGC ads was an overnight game changer for paid performance How to find and iterate products on Alibaba without a design background — function and comfort as your only brief The B2B opportunity hiding inside a D2C brand, and how supplying mining companies unlocked a second revenue stream Why disappointing a customer hurts more than any slow sales period — and what that tells you about building a brand worth caring about The honest maths behind staying in your day job longer than everyone says you should What it actually feels like to build something from nothing when nobody's watching yet If you're trying to build something real around a full-time job and wondering whether it's worth the grind — this episode will change how you think about time, patience, and what early traction actually looks like. Jesse's story is proof that you don't need the perfect conditions. You just need to start. When the World Breaks is the question we all ask when life feels dark and uncertain. Is God still working when everything feels unstable? When prayers seem unanswered? When the future feels unclear? In this message from Mark 14:17–29, we look at one of the most uncertain moments in history—the night before Jesus' arrest. His closest followers were anxious, confused, and afraid. Betrayal was coming. Suffering was near. The future felt dark. And yet Jesus was calm, purposeful, and confident. Why?Because when life is uncertain, God is not.In this message, you'll discover:Why uncertainty often makes us doubt God's loveWhat the Last Supper reveals about God's faithfulness in dark momentsHow to trust God when you can't see what He's doingWhy God is still active even when there's no visible evidenceTwo practical steps to strengthen your faith during uncertain seasonsIf you're facing anxiety about your future, your family, your health, your job, your marriage, or the state of the world—this message is for you. The Bible doesn't ignore uncertainty. It meets it head-on. And it reminds us that even when everything feels fragile, God is steady. You may not see what He's doing right now.But that doesn't mean He isn't working.

In this episode hosted by Kirsten Tyrrel, we sit down with Mike Ettenberg, a former firefighter turned full-time entrepreneur and founder of Frontline Optics, a sunglasses brand built specifically for first responders. Mike shares how a childhood obsession with emergency services and a side gig in college led him to both firefighting and eventually e-commerce. You'll hear how he spent a full year developing a product he knew the market needed, why he swears by the “5 to 9” side hustle strategy, and how he scaled his business while still on shift at the fire station. If you're a Christian woman feeling discouraged with your progress, struggling to stay consistent, or wondering why your growth feels slower than you hoped, this devotional will help you realign your heart and mind with God's truth. Many Christian women love God deeply and want to honor Him in their health, habits, and daily lives, yet quietly carry frustration, discouragement, and pressure when they don't see the progress they expected. This Living God's Way Devotional will help you understand that your spiritual growth, health journey, and personal transformation are not defined by speed, but by your alignment with God. When you feel discouraged, it does not mean God has stopped working. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 1:6 that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. God is not discouraged with your progress. He is present in it, strengthening you, forming you, and guiding you forward. If you've been starting over, questioning yourself, or feeling discouraged in your body, your habits, or your consistency, this devotional will help you return to peace, trust God's timing, and continue moving forward with spiritual strength and confidence. In this Christian devotional, you'll reflect on: • Why Christian women often feel discouraged with their progress • What Scripture teaches about trusting God's work in your life • How discouragement can weaken your spiritual confidence and focus • How to release pressure and realign your identity with God's truth • How to continue your health and fitness journey with peace and spiritual strength God is not measuring you by perfection. He is leading you through formation. Every step of obedience, every moment of surrender, and every return to Him strengthens your faith, your identity, and your spiritual foundation. This devotional is part of the Strong. Confident. His. podcast, where Christian women learn how to renew their minds, strengthen their bodies, and walk confidently in their identity in Christ. Are you ready to go all in with God in your health journey? Could you use a step-by-step plan that puts Jesus at the center of how you care for your body? There's a big misconception in real estate that you need to quit your job, go all in, and take massive risks to build real wealth. This episode proves the opposite. We sit down with Tommy Stelzer, a member of our community who had been following us for a while before finally deciding to invest in himself and join the Wealth Juice Inner Circle. This decision ultimately springboarded his journey to not only growing his real estate portfolio, but started a podcast as well. Originally from Pennsylvania and now based in Orlando, he carved out a niche in student rentals in a small college town and has since grown his portfolio to 10+ units, all while still working full-time. In this conversation, we break down what actually changed once he stopped trying to figure it out alone. Instead of bouncing between strategies, he focused on one niche, built relationships with people ahead of him, and followed a clear roadmap inside the room. The accountability, collaboration, and access to people doing deals at a higher level gave him clarity and momentum. Starting small built confidence. Choosing a lane created traction. Getting in the right environment accelerated everything. If you're someone who's been listening, learning, and waiting for the “right time” to make your move, this episode is for you. You don't need to quit your job. You don't need to have it all figured out. But you do need a plan, and the right people around you. This is what it looks like when you invest in yourself, commit to a path, and start building real momentum toward financial freedom without blowing up your stability.
