Welcome to the 2025 Award Show. We start with fight breakdowns. In this episode, we break down Saturday morning's telecast from Saudi Arabia. In the main event, Naoya Inoue rather effortlessly defeated David Picasso. It was a showcase of Inoue's great timing and reflexes, but Picasso proved to be a tough foe, hanging on until the final bell. Yet, the story of the night was Junto Nakatani. Nakatani defeated Sebastian Hernandez, but the result left many with more questions than answers. The fight was close, closer than any Nakatani had as a pro prior. Nakatani opted to fight on the inside at times, a difficult move. Some thought Hernandez won, some thought Nakatani won, as did the judges. In the end, the mega-fight between Inoue and Nakatani has taken a massive hit. Also, Erdison Garcia upset previously unbeaten Taiga Imanaga, and IBF flyweight champion Masamichi Yabuki made his second title defense, knocking out Felix Alvarado in 12 rounds. Next week, we get one fight card from Puerto Rico. Amanda Serrano will face Reina Tellez in a 10-round women's title fight broadcast on DAZN. This will be Serrano's first fight against an opponent named Katie Taylor since the summer of 2024. Tellez will be taking a major leap up in competition as she faces the toughest opponent of her career, replacing Erika Cruz. Other notable bouts on the undercard, Stephanie Han, a women's lightweight titleholder, will face legend Holly Holm, who will not just be battling Han, but father time itself. Holm, now in her 40s, is a boxing pioneer who became a legend for knocking out Ronda Rousey. Through Psalm 150, we discover that worship serves as our "main event" because it aligns us with kingdom reality where God reigns eternally.David shows us that worship functions as both beholding and becoming. When we behold God's character through praise, we transform into His likeness as disciples. Recent research on emotional memory reveals how repetition shapes our brains, and worship interrupts negative patterns by redirecting our focus to God's truth. This pattern interruption heals and renews us as we encounter the God who inhabits our praises.Psalm 150 commands unrestrained praise using every instrument and voice. The ram's horn calls for attention, harps and lyres accompany our voices in freedom, tambourines celebrate victory in community, and clashing cymbals express our wholehearted joy. Each instrument represents delight and triumph rather than solemn duty.The psalm moves from describing God as Elohim (raw power and might) to Yahweh (personal, covenantal relationship). Ryan Holm is the new Director of Marketing for Leica's Sport Optics division. While Ryan is new to the high-performance optics industry, he is no stranger to the hunting market. I first met Ryan when he was in a similar position with the pack company, Mystery Ranch. I still give him major credit for building that brand into the category leader.    Revitalizing an optics company in the hunting, birding and outdoor recreation industries simultaneously is tricky business, they all have their own biases, and he has to be sensitive to all of them.  Ryan and I talk about how 20 years of experience will help him to accomplish just that. It was great catching up with him, but I more excited to see what he can do with a legacy brand like Leica.  

In this week's coaching conversation, Ibaraki Robots head coach Chris Holm joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights on shifting team culture.Chris Holm is a professional basketball coach with a diverse coaching background spanning collegiate and international levels. He is currently the head coach of the Ibaraki Robots in Japan's B.League, a position he assumed in June 2024 after serving as the team's assistant coach for two seasons. His leadership reflects years of tactical growth and adaptability, building on prior success across both coaching and player development roles.Before joining Ibaraki, Holm spent nearly four seasons with the Kyoto Hannaryz from 2020 to 2024 as an assistant coach, helping guide the team through competitive B.League campaigns. He previously served as an assistant coach at The George Washington University from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the team's development in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Between coaching stints, Holm also worked in the private sector as a Territory Account Executive with Toast, Inc., further broadening his leadership experience.
