As we wrap up our “When You Pray” series, we're reminded of our complete dependence on God and we stand in awe of His faithful response. Over the past few weeks, we've celebrated powerful moments: lives transformed through baptism, a surge of people stepping up to serve, and a full room at our new members class. God is clearly moving in our church, and we give Him all the glory! We can do nothing without Him. We thank Him not only for what He's done, but for who He is, and who He continues to be in our lives. Today, as a church family, we prayed with expectation, asking for His blessing, His guidance, and His protection as we seek His will in all things.
In this message from Matthew 6:12, we explore the transformative power of forgiveness. Jesus teaches us that receiving God's grace and extending it to others go hand in hand. Forgiveness isn't easy—but it's a vital part of living in freedom and healing. Let's do the hard work of forgiving, just as we've been forgiven.
Our Father provides all that we need as we look to Him in grateful dependence. Matthew 6:11 reminds us that God is the source of every good thing we need—physically and spiritually. Jesus teaches us to pray not just for ourselves, but for one another, recognizing our shared dependence on the Father. In this episode, we explore how this simple request draws us into daily trust, deliberate community, and deep contentment in God's faithful provision.
Prayer isn't just about asking — it's about aligning. In this message, we explore what it means to seek God's will over our own. Drawing from Matthew 6:10, we're reminded that true prayer begins with surrender: “Thy will be done.” Learn how to pray not for what you want, but for what He desires.
Jesus begins the Lord's Prayer by grounding us in who we're speaking to: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”This message reminds us that God is the holy and loving center of prayer—and that through Jesus, we're invited to call Him Father and come into His presence with confidence.
In Matthew 6:5–15, Jesus doesn't just teach how to pray—He teaches why. He invites us away from performance and into intimacy, showing us that real prayer is not about being seen by others but about being known by the Father. This message unpacks the Lord's Prayer as a model for simple, sincere, and powerful communion with God.
Join us this week as we walk through The Lord's Prayer.
Do you pray? Do you ever wonder how to pray or even feel like you're doing it wrong. Prayer is asking God. Prayer is a close conversation with our Heavenly Father. Today Pastor J is kicking off a new series about prayer. Do you know Jesus prayed? Yes, even the Son of God spent time alone with God in prayer. So we are gonna start this series asking God to teach us to pray. Let's pray together.Links to Lord's Prayer articles by Pastor J - https://www.1517.org/articles/forgive-us-our-trespassesRecorded live at Word of Life Church in Le Sueur, Minnesota, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, Pastor Jason Lang preaching.Powered by Restream https://restream.io/(Bensound Royality Free background music)
It is time this very minute to pray and seek God. Time to set our timers and pray for the minute. This podcast encourages us to stop for a minute and, now, in the presence of our Heavenly Father—with praise and prayer—worship Him in Jesus' name and in the power of the Holy Spirit. ———— *We do not own the rights to music played on this podcast.
In his sermon "When You Pray," Pastor Micah Stephens draws from the book of Matthew to deliver a heartfelt message about the simplicity and power of prayer, echoing Jesus' teaching that it should be a private, intimate exchange between an individual and God—not a public spectacle performed for human praise, lest that fleeting recognition become the only reward. He highlights Jesus' own reliance on prayer with the Father as a model for believers, urging us to depend on it even more in our own lives, while dispelling the notion that prayer is a complex ritual, magic spell, or wish to a distant deity; instead, it's a direct, face-to-face conversation with God. Pastor Stephens emphasizes the extraordinary privilege we now have through Christ—unhindered access to God—contrasting it with the Old Testament era when Jews depended on animal sacrifices and a high priest to petition God on their behalf, a process so precise that a misstep could cost the priest his life. Today, he reminds us, we often overlook the profound gift of speaking to God directly and receiving answers in Jesus' name.Verse References: Matthew 6 verses 5-15, Luke 11 verses 1-2, John 5 verse 19, John 8 verses 28-29, 1 Kings 26 verse 29, 1 Kings 18 verses 36-39, James 5 verse 16, John 17 verse 1, Matthew 26 verse 39, Matthew 10 verses 29-31, John 6 verse 11, 1 John 1 verse 9, Luke 23 verse 34, 1 Corinthians 10 verse 13, John 17 verse 15, John 11 verses 41-42, Hebrews 10 verses 19-22Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information!https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. How's your prayer life? When you pray, what do you pray? What's your motive for praying? One of the primary ways we meet and connect with God is through prayer. Today, Jesus shows us a model for our prayer life and asks us to check our motives when we pray. There is much to challenge us in God's Word from today's passage!

Prayer is the most foundational expression of spirituality. Make space in your day to call out to God. Pray with others..."when two or three are gathered in His name".

Resisting Gossip – Part 3: Responding to Gossip (chapters 7-8)The reality is that we all will be gossiped about ~ can be quite painful. Below are some reasons why: Gossip is a betrayal (form of treason) – Psalm 55:12-14 Gossip can leave us feeling vulnerable – Psalm 55:4-8Gossip steals our reputation – Proverbs 22:1 – “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”The question is, how are we to respond when people gossip or slander us? In faith and in love First, responding in faith: Psalms can be so helpful ~ Psalm 140:1-13 is a good example [principles drawn from this Psalm]1. Take it to the Lord (140:1-2) Tell it like it is (vs.3) Remember to whom you are talking (vs.6-8)2. Ask God for Justice (Psalm 140:8-11)3. Believe that God Will Answer (Psalm 140:12-13)Second, responding in loveLove our enemies – Matthew 5:43-47Love is active – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8Four practical and biblical love-in-action response when we find ourselves the target of gossip:1. Pray (Matthew 5:44; Philippians 1:9-11)2. Overlook (Proverbs 19:11) ~ kind of a one-sided forgiving3. Confront (Matthew 18:15-20). A few questions to keep in mind before you confront someone who has been gossiping about you Is it true? What can I learn from this?Should I defend myself? Can I rejoice in this4. Repay Evil with Good (1 Peter 3:9-12; 1 Corinthians 4:10, 12-13)+++++++++++++++++++For more information about this group, please visit their website at reformationboise.com. Here is the second time Jesus addressed prayer in his Sermon on the Mount. But this time Jesus speaks less about how to pray, more about why. In today's message, we'll learn what it means to ask, seek, and knock, and why it matters that we persist in doing so.
