Nakul Jain heads Inverted Prism (https://www.invertedprism.in/about-us/) and has been designing and executing career exploratory programs for more than five years. In his own words, he's an "on paper" Mechanical Engineer who found his true calling in the world of education, realising how travel experiences can be powerful in shaping one's views around academic and professional choices. In this fascinating conversation, we reminisce on our own journeys and how the Indian educational system often misses the point when it comes to helping kids plan their future, the sensitive considerations for parents and teachers, and the merits of a cash generative quality business. We're back to talk to Kickliy about his new Western graphic novel PERDY! You may know Kickliy from his series Musnet, or his work that was published under the name Sam Hiti. All of it is great, and we were excited to talk to him. We got into the reason for his name change, his time spent in France recuperating from a serious accident, and his triumphant return to comics. Lots of painting and drawing philosophy, working through blocks small and large, and how he ended up becoming an American cartoonist with a French Publisher. Behind the scenes process talk about making both PERDY & Musnet, including his thoughts on making all ages comics AND decidedly not all ages comics. This is a good one! PS: We're going to be at SPX this weekend! Come see PROCESS PARTY LIVE with Josh Cotter on Sunday, and pick up Zack's NEW BOOK, The Secret Voice Vol 1 at Tables L-12/L-13!!!

Originally released 1/24/17. How do we handle the transitions we experience as mothers without losing our minds and keeping our sense of humor? In podcast #114, mom-in-chief Ellie Knaus interviews psychotherapist and favorite relative EMILY PRICE about how to handle big change and all the anxiety that comes along with it. Emily gives us grounding techniques that can keep us from freaking out no matter what life throws at us: whether that be an unexpected pregnancy (or expected), moving, switching jobs, or family loss. We also call B.S. on our “get over it” culture and share what to do instead. But first Ellie brings on her husband Adam to share their ridiculous Sunday night…You’ll never think of “mother-daughter twinning” in quite the same way. PS We're both pregnant.GUEST BIO:Emily Price is a licensed clinical social worker and mom of 2 boys (now 3 boys!) living and working in New York City. She’s been extensively trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and is a certified somatic experiencing practitioner. She is a psychotherapist in private practice and specializes in treating anxiety and trauma, particularly OCD, phobias, and PTSD.Super amazing and personal private Facebook Group for our Mama Listeners Facebook pageShownotes: atomicmoms.comInstagram: @atomicmoms

We also hear about Josh's genius plan to avoid his family AND lose tons of money for the holiday. Plus, Josh as "Triple B," the shocking background of the "40 Year Old Virgin"'s crew, and an important and handy new addition to the English language: to Shawn something. All this and more as we (and, by extension, you) celebrate Turkey Day in style: with the Kings of Drink Mountain, Drinks With Josh! PS-We're totally serious about getting some DWJ gear made. Welcome to Slash and Burn! Join us as our hosts, Kera the fanfiction veteran and Steve the noob, read then discuss (mostly) unintentionally bad, gross, and/or hilarious stories from the world of fanfic on this comedy? podcast. This week the birthday girl got to request her favorite fandom as the topic, and that fandom is Sherlock! BBC's Sherlock, to be more precise. We've got Sherlock, we've got Watson, we've got Moriarty, Mycroft, Johnlock, Mylock, Fawnlock... what the hell is a Fawn!lock? COME FIND OUT. As always, there is extremely explicit content not meant for most adults, let alone children. You've been warned, welcome to the magical realm. PS: We're really sorry for the egregious amount of other noise in this episode. We will be remedying this shortly. slashandburnpod.tumblr.com twitter.com/slashandburnpod slashandburnpod@gmail.com / slashandburnpud@gmail.com
On this episode we get to torture Andrew by making him once again watch 2013's DC cinematic universe founding slobbery smish-fest, Man of Steel! Is it possible to make a good Superman movie without a superhero in it? Does it add a lot to Jor El's character to have him do HALO drops from a dragon (electric guitar squeal)? And speaking of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, could it be a better idea to just debut a universe of familiar heroes in two movies rather than stretch it out for five or six of varying quality? All this, plus a movie that dislikes Superman makes the best Superman injoke ever made! PS: We're spoiling Miracleman for you this episode too, amongst the usual stuff we spoil every episode. One thing we haven't spoiled? Spoiler, who got killed by a power drill. Oh, shoot...
Big Damn Heroes has hit episode 57, and man is this one a doozie. Over on our one episode of Buffy, relationships fall further apart, we get a good dose of childhood trauma, a strong dose of creepy via incestuous overtones, and exactly why a character's mother was cast the way she was. Over on Angel, things just keep heading straight to Hell as a certain character stops even pretending to be anything but EEEEVIL, a favorite character shows up for a few episodes, and the last crossover between the two shows (if a bit weird timeline-wise) happens. Join Will and Hannah for Buffy's "Lies My Parents Told Me," and Angel's "Salvage," "Release," and "Orpheus." PS: We're due to be finished with Buffy by the new year!
