Recreated in 1983, New Fantasyland took a Renaissance fair and converted it into a European Village where each pocket of the land would be transformed into a unique villagers' house or shop—transforming 5 buildings into a little village protected by the walls of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Im Eric Anderson and this is the episode for the 5th week of October were well be talking about the Halloween Season at Disneyland Paris and the Tower of Terror, also minor refurb- updates for the Phantom Manor. Let’s dive right in. Halloween at Disneyland Paris is awesome, I’ve been going for the past 3 year and you see some of the same Decorations being reused but them also adding new elements each year. The Decorations are found only at the Disneyland Park and not at Walt Disney Studios, which would be amazing if in future that space would be utilized as well. Think of it glamorous spooky Hollywood, theres potential there. Or Toy Story Halloween fusion, that could be pretty cute. In 2013 there was even a Toy Story halloween short called Toy Story of Terror so it would fit nicely. Coming back to Disneyland Park the classic halloween decorations can be found on Main Street USA and in Frontierland. Throughout Main Street USA you will find an assortment of Pumpkins small to Large lining the roofs of the various Building and Stationary ghost figures. Decorations start off at Town Square, Over the Main Street railroad station two ghost hold a sign that reads „happy Halloween“. The gazebo has been decked in in Pumpkins, Autumn leaves and what appears to be a ghost marching band each playing a different instrument. Mickey shaped pumpkins in the flower beds and the some of the street lights are wearing adorable witches hats and have been tinted green. Music wise we are treated to the same Main Street USA background music we all know and love with an overlay of the spooks making silly noises. Which to me seems super cute for like the first five minutes but after a while i can see that being just a bit too much. The level of detail in the sculptures and decorations is as always amazing. „This ain’t your run of the mill theme park hunty!“ Disney is the creme de la creme of themed entertainment. Even the Main Street vehicles roaming up and down the street are topped with adorable mickey pumpkins and autumn leaves. For me Disneyland is really one of the best places to experience Halloween. The arcades on either side of Main Street remain untouched without any halloween theming. Taking a look down Main Street from Town Square, to see Disneyland Paris' Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant (aka "Sleeping Beauty's Castle“), we see lanterns, flowers and leave garlands floating above our heads. They also review their lunch at Earl of Sandwich.   Randy Crane's Educational Tour of Disneyland Review We had the wonderful privilege of taking one of Randy's customized Disneyland tours and we had a wonderful experience! A couple days before we met him at the park, we filled out a questionnaire so he could customize his tour specifically for us. He asked us where some of our favorite places around the park are, what we know already, and what we'd like to hear about. We met him at the park just after opening and we went into Disneyland. As we toured the park with Randy, it didn't feel like a traditional tour as one might think, but it was more conversational and less structured. You're basically hanging out at the park with a Disney expert. We experienced his Faith and the Magic Kingdom tour which incorporates Christian faith parallels in with the Disneyland knowledge, he does, however, also offer a non-faith-based Stories and Facts Tour, which is also very good. Throughout the tour, Randy pointed out many things to us that are right out in the open and people pass up all the time as they rush to their favorite attractions. Things like a single light bulb on Main Street that is half red and half white, or how you can tell when you're leaving Frontierland and entering New Orleans Square. All of these details come with very interesting stories behind them, and Randy is an endless fount of Disneyland knowledge! On the faith side of things, Randy shared such stories about how Walt had originally intended there to be a church on Main Street and why it never happened, but there is, in fact, a church that can be seen at the end of Main Street, and he'll tell you exactly where to look. Randy also shared with us an interesting parallel between the story of David and Goliath and the Sleeping Beauty display in Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Very interesting stuff!
