News: With the new Lilo & Stitch movie debuting to record numbers, there is a bit more Stitch around than usual. A new Stitch sipper is available at the Galactic Grill for $25.99, which comes with a fountain drink of choice. New Magic Shots featuring Stitch photobombing you at the Main Entrance, and near Sleeping Beauty Castle. In Disney California Adventure, you can be photobombed on Buena Vista Street, the Cloud Wall on the Pixar Pier bridge, and near the waterfall by Grizzly Peak. Finally, there is a chalk mural by artist Pei Jun Tang in Downtown Disney. – https://www.micechat.com/416185-disneyland-update-parades-parties-patriotism-as-summer-starts/ Stitch isn't the only character at Disneyland that is new. Phineas and Pherb are meeting and greeting in the Hollywood Backlot. Agent P joins them on Saturdays only. This is part of the new season premiere on Disney+ and Disney Channel June 5th. – https://www.micechat.com/416185-disneyland-update-parades-parties-patriotism-as-summer-starts/ Last year a new PhotoPass experience premiered at the resort. PhotoPass Excursions are back again! The excursions are 8-15 minute private photo shoots with PhotoPass photographers in Adventureland, Frontierland, Main Street, and Fantasyland. Magic Key Holders with free PhotoPass, guests with Lightning Lane, or with the daily PhotoPass are able to take part. – https://www.micechat.com/416185-disneyland-update-parades-parties-patriotism-as-summer-starts/ Last week, we reported on the music box-style music in the esplanade to go along with the sculpture. This week, the slower music box music has been replaced with a mix of classic Disneyland music, and vocal tracks from the Disneyland 70th celebration. The music box music isn't completely gone though – it plays each night at 10pm as a post-fireworks “kiss goodnight.” – https://www.micechat.com/416185-disneyland-update-parades-parties-patriotism-as-summer-starts/ Even with the Disneyland 70th in nearly full swing, there are still some construction projects happening around the resort. Matterhorn Mountain is getting some pretty extensive track and rock work completed, the Enchanted Tiki Room, along with the Tiki Juice Bar are both behind walls for refurbishment. Mendocino Terrace in Disney California Adventure is still being worked on, while outside in Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich is coming along quickly now, and the old Tortilla Jo's is all but leveled. – https://www.micechat.com/416185-disneyland-update-parades-parties-patriotism-as-summer-starts/ The Little Man of Disneyland, Patrick Begorra, is setting off to another land in the park. Patrick is being celebrated at Club 33 with his own menu. He is going on a “Royal Adventure” to New Orleans Square where the menu features cocktails representing the five original lands. The Watchlight, and the Strawberry Streetcar for Main Street, Flights of Enchantment for Fantasyland, Amber Waves of Tea for Frontierland, Neverending Tomorrow for Tomorrowland, and Uncharted Nature for Adventureland. There are also some food options for each of the lands as part of the 70th celebration. All the details are linked in the show notes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/05/23/secret-menu-alert-disney-fans-are-gonna-love-this-exclusive-new-addition/#more-1036451 For Memorial Day in the United States, Disneyland had a few ways to honor the people who gave their lives in service to the country. Tables have been setup around the resort for fallen soldiers, with an empty place setting, reminding guests of the soldiers who did not make it home. The Flag Retreat ceremony in Town Square was larger then usual to honor the day. The Navy's 32nd Street Brass Band performed at Disney California Adventure on the Hollywood Pictures Backlot stage last week to round out the holiday. – https://www.micechat.com/416185-disneyland-update-parades-parties-patriotism-as-summer-starts/ SnackChat: 13 banana bites (new treats added for Savannah Banana Day) – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/disney-eats-13-banana-bites-to-celebrate-savannah-bananas-at-disneyland/ Discussion Topic: Games with Producer James
Join Erik and Tage this week as they are joined by Cydel and Jade as they discuss the Disney movies that were on repeat in their homes as children, the most surprising things they have learned about a Disney Park, the subtle (or not so subtle) things they do in their everyday life to bring in a bit of magic when they can't be in the parks, and what restaurants they believe need more seating and what space they would steal from to add that. Support the podcast by going to https://www.thehubcrawl.com/support. Question 1: What Disney Movie was on repeat at your house as a child? Question 2: What is the most surprising thing you have learned about a Disney park? Question 3: What is your favorite subtly Disney thing to do at home or in your regular everyday life to feel a little magic from the parks when you can't be there? Question 4: The old Haunted Mansion shop in New Orleans Square is now extra seating for the Royal Street Veranda. What other restaurant would you like to add seating for and what space would you steal from to do so? Bonus Question: What was the most extravagant experience you have paid for on a Disney vacation and was it worth the cost for you personally? (Dining package, show, hotel, VIP tour, etc.)
This week, even more things coming to the Disneyland Resort for the 70th, a sneak peek into the Walt animatronic, a new character coming to Avengers Campus, bananas are invading Disneyland later this month, fire heroes were honored, new seating was added to New Orleans Square, we talk to Artist Jerrod Maruyama, and more! News: More and more keeps being announced for the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland. A new light, sound, and projection moment will be coming to Carthay Circle and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The moment will be set to the tune “Celebrate Happy,” the theme song for the anniversary. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/guide-to-the-70th-anniversary-at-disneyland-resort/ We have some new details about the Walt Disney animatronic experience coming to the Opera House in July. Various media outlets were invited to the Imagineering campus to see the life-sized concept sculpt, and to learn more about the show. Walt's voice in the show will be his own, with clips of his actual voice were painstakingly assembled from interviews. The animatronic itself is very lifelike. The posture, facial structure, and skin texture are “uncanny” according to MiceChat. – https://www.micechat.com/414430-disneyland-walt-disney-a-magical-life-revealed/ Another character from the Marvel Universe will be dropping by Avengers Campus for a limited time. Red Guardian, who first appeared in Black Widow, and is featured in the new movie Thunderbolts, will be meeting and greeting with guests. You can be sure to find him by checking the Disneyland App. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/meet-the-super-amazing-red-guardian-at-avengers-campus/ If you are going to be in Avengers Campus heading into Cars Land, or the other way around in the near future, be aware that the path between the two by Luigi's is closed. This has been done for construction of a new restroom facility to compliment the new additions to Avengers Campus currently under construction. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ May the 4th was this weekend and the Disney Parks Blog shared a recipe from A Galaxy Far, Far Away. The Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread from Docking Bay 7 may take some planning – with one step taking from 12-18 hours – but is sure to be a tasty treat! – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/disney-eats-exclusive-plant-based-star-wars-day-recipe/ Later this month, a fun team will be visiting the parks. The Savannah Bananas, a baseball team similar to the Harlem Globetrotters, will be at Disneyland on May 28, 2025. Special entertainment moments, and themed food and beverages will be on hand to celebrate. – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/savannah-bananas-disneyland-may-28/ On Monday, May 5, there was a Heroes Salute Cavalcade to honor the first responders of the fires back in January. The Heroes ticket also kicked off to coincide with the cavalcade. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHGVwxv9H1E A rather abrupt change has come to New Orleans Square. The Port Royal Curios and Curiosities shop, right next to the Royal Street Veranda, has been changed into a seating area for diners. Since the shop duplicated the merchandise which can be found at Madame Leota's “Somewhere Beyond” shop, the old location was not needed. The decor was not updated much, except to turn it into a jazzy looking speakeasy. Tables and chairs are scattered about for guests to get out of the heat and find a place to eat. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ At the Emporium on Main Street, there are a set of windows that are decorated with animated scenes from Disney classics. Some of them have been in rough shape in recent times, but they are currently being refurbished for the 70th. No word on when they will be completed, but work is underway. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ SnackChat: 70th Foodie Guide – Disney Eats: Disneyland 70th Celebration Foodie Guide – Disney Parks Blog Discussion Topic: Freelance artist Jerrod Maruyama https://www.instagram.com/jmaruyama/

Send us a textWhat happens when the world's most famous mouse couple calls it quits? Aaron and Aaron tackle this hilariously complex hypothetical scenario by dividing up the most valuable asset in this animated divorce: Disneyland itself.Armed with shots of tequila and guided by special guest mediator Eli, the hosts transform into rival attorneys representing Mickey and Minnie in increasingly specific negotiations. Their property division follows an unexpected guiding principle: Mickey embodies "fun and excitement" while Minnie represents "elegance and fashion." This distinction drives their decisions about who deserves what throughout the park. The negotiations get surprisingly heated over dining locations, with Plaza Inn and Blue Bayou becoming particularly contentious properties. When dividing Disneyland's lands, Mickey claims Main Street, Tomorrowland, and Frontierland, while Minnie receives New Orleans Square, Fantasyland, and Adventureland. The castle becomes shared property, with careful stipulations about princess appearances and parade routes.Character custody arrangements follow naturally from their established personas—Mickey keeps his pals Goofy, Donald and Pluto, while Minnie gets Daisy and Clarabelle. The hosts demonstrate impressive Disney knowledge throughout, referencing everything from merchandise trends to restaurant atmospheres with the precision of true park enthusiasts.Join us for this tequila-enhanced thought experiment that reveals how deeply Disney characters have embedded themselves in our cultural imagination, and subscribe to hear more uniquely entertaining Disney discussions! Here's who we are and what is in store for you

Begin in Tomorrowland, strolling past the iconic Matterhorn. Wander through the always enchanting Fantasyland and immerse yourself in the whimsical Fantasy Faire area music. Continue your leisurely exploration through Frontierland, culminating in a visit to the futuristic Galaxy's Edge. As you rest on the first floor of the yet to be reopened Hungry Bear Jamboree, listen to the nostalgic melodies of a forgotten area loop. In the distance, hear the rhythmic chug of the Mark Twain riverboat drifting by.Then wander through Critter Counter just weeks before its transformation to Bayou Country. The loading station and familiar sounds of Tigger dominate the soundtrack. Let's now hop over to New Orleans Square where the eerie music box sounds echo from Haunted Mansion Holiday and the engines from the rafts for Tom Sawyer's Island hum in the background. It's time to hang around the Rivers of America to take in some jazz before heading into Frontierland for some time on a bench. Then bare with some stroller sounds before taking a reprieve at the Tiki Room lanai for a moment.Afterward, head down Main Street before exiting for the evening. casually walk past Matterhorn, Fantasyland, meander in Fantasy Faire before heading through Frontierland and into Galaxy's Edge. Then take a rest on the ground floor of the Hungry Bear Jamboree to hear a somewhat lost area loop. Forget matching Disney shirts. Matching shirts for a Disney vacation may be a common way to theme your Disney travel outfits, but there's a much better (and more fun way) to get into the Disney spirit by theming your family wardrobe more creatively.Choosing a theme can help to elevate and add some fun to your next Disney vacation Packing outfits for a Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation can be a lot of fun. Beyond the basics of packing for the season or the weather – or packing matching shirts for your family or group – there's another way to really elevate your Disney vacation style. If you're like me and you're not a big fan of matching Disney shirts, then this Disney fashion style is a great way to go. Theming your wardrobe to your upcoming vacation (or at least part of it), can make it fun to pack and even more fun to co-ordinate with what you plan to do onsite. Ideas for How to Theme Your Disney World Wardrobe Princess Theme A Cinderella-inspired theme for your outfits, along with a visit to Cinderella's Royal Table, a Cinderella Meet and greet and more. Or, do the same with Princess Ariel, Princess Belle, or your favorite Disney princess. 1920s New Orleans Don't just do a Tiana wardrobe theme, expand it into 1920s New Orleans inspired outfits for the family. You can do everything from a Princess Tiana dress for your little ones, to more clever apparel for the adults and teens. Couple this with a Tiana Meet and Greet (she will love it), a ride on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and if you're at Disneyland, a visit to Tiana's Palace and a stroll around New Orleans Square for photos. Toy Story Theme Toy Story offers so many opportunities to have fun theming your family/group's apparel. Everything from your favorites from the movie, to your favorite toys as a kid...they're all fair game to inspire your outfits. Then, it's off to Toy Story Land for a few rides, dining at Round-Up Rodeo BBQ and Toy Story character meetings. Star Wars Theme Star Wars also offers many opportunities to theme your family Disney outfits. Then, wander Galaxy's Edge, visit Oga's Cantina and pilot the Millennium Falcon. Animal Print Theme Visiting Animal Kingdom Park is much more fun when you have your animal inspired family outfits. Take pictures in the park, meet characters, dine at Tusker House, ride Kilimanjaro Safaris and have a little fun with Wilderness Explorers.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. "She literally shoved someone's head into the mirror and it cracked and fell off the wall; then the bar had to replace it. You took me willingly to this bar? Oh yeah it's great!" If there's one thing Christi and Stephen can't seem to avoid it's haunted bars and houses around New Orleans. It wasn't enough that there were vampires, but now there's ghosts in the French Quarter too?! We promise to cover other cities at some point, but NOLA is just too spooky not to cover in more detail. I mean the realtors literally will promote on their For Sale signs if a house is haunted or not, it's serious business! Is it any wonder why Disney chose to put The Haunted Mansion in the New Orleans Square section of Disney? As Stephen gives tours around New Orleans, he hears a lot of first hand accounts of ghost sightings directly from his clients. Whether they're passing out in front of the infamous home of serial killer Madame LaLaurie or seeing Bloody Mary in a bar mirror, it's hard not to get the sense that something truly wicked is in the air that isn't just the humidity. Tune-in to hear some of Stephen's haunted highlights on this week's installment of Beyond the Norm and you too may feel a chill crawling up your spine!Quotes“I have to stop you, hold on. I have to yell at you. You didn't tell the whole fucking LaLaurie story! you talked about them buying back the slaves, you didn't talk about the night of the fire. Stephen that is the part of the LaLaurie story that makes people's jaws hit the floor. (...) She was just mutilating these people and basically they were torn from limb to limb in the atic. I guess I just totally B-lined around that. Yeah, you just forgot about the massive experimental torture!” (12:43-14:21 | Christi & Stephen)“It felt like... you know when aa gust of wind behind you kind of like pushes you? And I don't want to say it like grabbed my ass, but... Stephen! The ghost did not grab your ass." (23:40-23:52 | Christi & Stephen)“If you come with a group of girls (to New Orleans) and you're that one bitch that's like, 'My feet hurt I'm ruining the night!' because you didn't listen to us and wear tennis shoes, you're friends are going to hate you." (37:18-37:27 | Stephen)“She has artifacts, she has like... well I don't want to give it away. She gave me a raccoon dick.” (45:43-45:50 | Christi & Stephen) LinksSubscribe to our Patreon: www.patreon.com/BeyondtheNormPodcastFollow Christi on IG: www.instagram.com/christilukasiakFollow Stephen on IG: www.instagram.com/s_c_mayo Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. Enter the turnstiles past around 10pm and be welcomed by the Disneyland Railroad bell as you begin your full walking tour of Disneyland from East to West.Worth noting that Critter Country is completely closed with Splash Mountain finalizing it's conversion to Tiana's Bayou Adventure. They are for sale on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for $14.99 each. – https://www.micechat.com/381195-disneyland-update-balancing-magic-with-reality-spring-surprises-disappointments/ One of our favorite Easter traditions is happening again this year, with a slight twist. The Eggstraviganza is back for guests to test their skills finding Disney character themed eggs throughout the resort. This year, the prize that you collect at the end is not an egg like in years past, but an egg-shaped character charm. To get a map and participate is just $9.99. – DISNEYLAND UPDATE: Balancing Magic with Reality – Spring Surprises & Disappointments (micechat.com) The newish must-have treat at Harbor Galley is now on mobile order. The “photo safari” is a PhotoPass option where guest line up on the Frontierland bridge and wait for a PhotoPass photographer. Your group then gets the photographer for 10-15 minutes for no additional charge. The PhotoPass cast member will take you anywhere you want to go in Adventureland, Frontierland, or nearby Fantasyland to take multiple photos. – DISNEYLAND UPDATE: Balancing Magic with Reality – Spring Surprises & Disappointments (micechat.com) An annual tradition is coming back to the parks on July 21st this year. The annual Children's Hospital of Orange County – or CHOC – walk is a charity walk that has been taking place at the resort for the last 32 years. The event was moved to July to better allow teams of families be able to participate while not missing school, or back to school events. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/02/29/you-can-take-part-in-a-disney-tradition-this-year-find-out-how/#more-911746 More construction has happened between New Orleans Square and Critter Country. Over at the Haunted Mansion, walls are up from Tiana's Palace all the way to Critter Country for construction of the expanded queue and Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Trees have been cut down in front of the New Orleans Square train station, between Tiana's Palace and the Haunted Mansion. This is to make way for the reimagined queue and park space that will be located in this space when construction is complete. – DISNEYLAND UPDATE: Haunted Mansion Shocker, New Celebrations & Massive Construction! (micechat.com) The Year of the Dragon is upon us and the Lunar New Year festival has some merch for this year. State of the Theme Parks 2024 It's that time of year when we look at the current state of the Disney and Universal theme parks in America, and talk about the most exciting changes, additions, and re-imaginings that have been announced for the coming year. Join us for the 2024 State of the Theme Parks Address! Topics covered incude: As of just a few days ago, theme park reservations are no longer needed for most guests at Walt Disney World, and park hopping is open all day long. To accommodate park hopping, inter-park busses will now start running at 10 am. Interestingly, there is currently no bus from MK to EPCOT- all guests hopping between those two parks are being sent via Monorail. Also recently returned, is the Disney Dining Plan and Quick Service Dining Plan at Walt Disney World Resort. The plan features some significant changes to price and inclusions from the last time it was offered. Coming later this summer, the fan favorite Free Dining Plan promotion. Comes with strings attached - requires Disney+ subscription, a longer stay, and the aforementioned changes to the DDP The Country Bears Jamboree is closing very soon for re-imagining, and the latest release from Disney confirms my fears that they're not just adding a segment with Disney songs on to the beloved show, but totally changing the show to be all Disney songs, with one song that "fans will recognize" - I'm guessing Big Al will still interrupt with Blood on the Saddle. Rock and Roller Coaster is down for a lengthy refurb - AGAIN. Disney says there is not current change coming to the theme, although the internet feels the time is right considering recent allegations against Steven Tyler. Construction will soon start on a DVC member lounge somewhere in MK Scaffolding is starting to come down from Tiana's Bayou Adventure as exterior work and landscaping is nearing completion. The exterior of the mountain is now covered almost entirely with plants to fit the bayou theme. Disney again mentions large future investment in MK, and specifically teases another announcement for Frontierland, making a future retheme of Pecos Bill's to Tiana's Place seem more likely. Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland completes its transformation with a grand reopening as Pixar Pier Hotel on January 30. To celebrate all things Pixar and the new hotel, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will be hosting the return of Pixar Fest from April 26-August 4, featuring an all new pixar themed daytime parade at DCA, and the return of Together Forever, a Pixar Nighttime Spectacular at Disneyland. May 24, Fantasmic! returns to Disneyland with new special effects, a reimagined finale battle between Mickey and Mileficent, and the return of the iconic Peter Pan scene aboard the Sailing Ship Columbia Run Disney finally returned to Disneyland - the half marathon weekend just wrapped up, and Sept. 5-8 will feature an all new Halloween half marathon weekend, Disneyland will expand the plaza between New Orleans Square and Haunted Mansion into a park like area with space for live entertainment. The grounds and queue of the Haunted Mansion will also be expanded to give guests a tour of the mansion's gardens, and guests can visit the carriage house which will house a brand new Haunted Mansion shop. News: Over at MiceChat, Dusty Sage was able to have a conversation with higher-up associated with Tiana's Bayou Adventure where he expressed his dismay at the focus on the search for a missing ingredient. If Dusty is right, there is a lot more going on with this attraction. Per his conversation, it is a sort of fake out for guests concealing the fact that they are doing a lot more with this attraction than has been announced. Massive set pieces are being installed to make this much more grand than the attraction that it is replacing. They are also spending a considerable amount on this project that they could have built an entirely new attraction. – https://www.micechat.com/371000-disneyland-update-snowfall-pumpkins-missed-opportunities/ It is possible that by the time you listen to this, the Adventureland Treehouse could be open! All of the scaffolding has been removed and the construction tape is gone. The CenTOONial Park is scheduled to reopen on October 30th, and then Goofy's How-to-Play Yard will close on the same day. Changes to this area are scheduled to wrap up and reopen to the public on November 10th. Hopefully, this will just leave Donald's Duck Pond having never been operating for guests. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/10/17/one-disney-attraction-will-reopen-soon-but-another-will-close-the-same-day/ A fun new activity is coming to the Disneyland Resort this Halloween Season. Snow has started to fall on Sleeping Beauty Castle, resulting in the Disney100 decorations disappearing before the actual anniversary, lights are going up in the trees on Main Street, and New Orleans Square is starting to have its decorations installed. – https://www.micechat.com/371000-disneyland-update-snowfall-pumpkins-missed-opportunities/ Have you ever wanted to have breakfast with Santa?
