Hour 1: Confused? You're at Alice 97.3 with Sarah and Vinnie! The biggest story out of the Olympics yesterday is love. Let's dive into the real life RomCom. Speaking of love, Vinnie's got a story about finding it later in life. Gut bacteria - it's normal! Plus, the Breaking Bad effect is real, and subtitles would have been nice at Hamilton. Hour 2: The FBI was finally able to get the video footage from Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping. Sarah feels strongly about what might have happened. There's conventions for everything these days. The latest is ‘Dancing with the Stars' coming to Palm Springs. PSA for Disney fans: You can now get married at The Haunted Mansion! A moment for The Raiders. People don't like it when teams move. Everyone is talking about the Quad God on the rink. People in the Bay have the most expensive commute in the country - nice. If you eat dinner on the couch, you're not totally alone. (50:48) Hour 3: It's time for our weekly game of Bridge The Gap! Sarah's Rockstar buddy Mike is back, but Teeyona is here for the Zillennials. Can the young girlies take the win against the trivia god? Then, need to fill time? Here are some activities parents are doing with their kids. These foods are officially overrated. Warning: strong opinions ahead. (1:32:29) Hour 4: The Billboard Hot 100 has an all new #1 - and it's country! Another Olivia Dean song is quietly climbing the charts. Cardi B is treating herself during her break-up. Bad Bunny says music can bring us together. Post Malone says the beer at his shows is too expensive. Britney Spears has sold her music catalogue. Young adults are in a dating recession. What is everyone so scared of? Plus, how old is that guy? (2:14:40)

This week, the Savannah Bananas are coming back this year, a spooky place to get married is going to be available, Disneyland ducks are getting some recognition, a well-known “citizen of Disneyland” was recognized, we finish our talk with Alex, and more! Joining them will be the Indianapolis Clowns, one of the newest Banana Ball Championship League teams. The day will include a Savannah Bananas Cavalcade at Disneyland, a special performance in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and a high-energy performance in the World of Color viewing area. That is not all, more details will be revealed leading up to the big day. There will be banana treats at both parks as well. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/savannah-bananas-at-disneyland-what-to-know/ Couples who love the Haunted Mansion now have an opportunity to make it part of their big day! Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons is adding the Haunted Mansion courtyard to the other great locations around the Disneyland Resort. The Mansion offers a dramatic backdrop for tying the knot. There is a catch – this location is only available in the early morning before the park opens, and can accommodate up to 25 guests. The Magnolia Park Terrace, just next door is also available for booking. Reservations for this space start in July. – https://disneyparksblog.com/weddings/live-happily-ever-after-on-the-steps-of-haunted-mansion-at-disneyland/ This past weekend was the Super Bowl, and the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots, which means they got to say that famous phrase – “We're going to Disneyland!” Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III, and Quarterback Sam Darnold lead a cavalcade on February 9th. The duo also enjoyed some attractions, like the Mad Tea Party, posed for photos with Mickey and Minnie, and more. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/disneyland-super-bowl-visit-2026/ Disneyland Ducks are as much as part of the resort as anything else. Finally, they are getting the recognition they deserve! Guests can now pick up a tee with the Disneyland ducks walking in front of the castle. – https://www.micechat.com/431336-disneyland-news-new-ceo-napa-rose-reborn-dca-25th/ Another part of Disneyland are the iconic guests that have become part of the park-going experience. There is Jon Hale, who is known for riding Radiator Springs Racers over 15,000 times, Peter, known for his clapping and fist bumping other guests, and, of course, Frank. Frank was known for sitting on the porch on Main Street and people watching. We met him a few years ago at that spot. Unfortunately, Frank passed away back in August, but the “New Century Historical Society” has honed him with a plaque on the bench that reads “Every day is my best day.” This was one of Frank's mantras. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disneyland-frank-the-porch-potato-bench-plaque/ Most folks know about the Disney Visa Card from Chase that offers you cash back on everyday purchases, as well as Disney money you can spend in the parks and more. A new Disney Inspire Visa Card is now out. New members can get up to a $600 bonus, with a $300 Disney Gift Card sent to you upon approval, and a $300 statement credit after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. There is an annual fee of $149. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/new-disney-inspire-visa-card-600-offer/ SnackChat: Parkside Market – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/downtown-disney-district/vista-parkside-market/menus/bar-–-lounge/ https://www.parksidemarketla.com/ Discussion Topic: More with Alex Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Anything about Villains Land has people curious as to what is happening. This includes some work being done by The Haunted Mansion. We'll explore the rumors and conjecture on how this land will be laid out. Next we talk about Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. There have been announcements of not only new additions, timelines, and offerings being added not to Disney's Hollywood Studios version of this land, but at Disneyland. Finally, speaking of Disneyland have you seen Disneyland Handcrafted? This film done by Leslie Iwerks gives insights to what things looked like when Walt Disney determined he would open a brand new themed park concept in the space of a year of construction. What happens when a perfectly respectable Magic Kingdom restaurant gets a little… Muppified? This week, Stephen pitches a small-scale but high-impact plussing project for one of Liberty Square's most overlooked classics: Columbia Harbour House. No new rides. No massive construction. Just thoughtful storytelling, operational realism, and a whole lot of Muppet chaos.Set during a post–Revolutionary War celebration, this reimagined Harbour House becomes the unofficial headquarters for the classic Muppets, complete with Statler and Waldorf heckling guests from above, the Swedish Chef wreaking havoc in the kitchen, subtle Haunted Mansion tie-ins upstairs, and even a few streetmosphere surprises outside.Along the way, the team breaks down what plussing really means, why smaller updates can sometimes matter more than big e-tickets, and how Disney can honor legacy spaces while still evolving them for modern guests, all while filling the MuppetVision-sized hole in the parks. It's a love letter to thoughtful Imagineering, classic Muppet mayhem, and the idea that even one restaurant can become a story-rich experience.Don't forget to check us out on Instagram!
THE ALLEGENDLY PODCAST Facts About “The Darker Side of Disneyland!” Alex and Joe are back in the hot seat, and this week they're diving straight into the shadows lurking behind the Happiest Place on Earth. As always, they're handed 5 wild “facts”, some real, some absolute nonsense—and it's their job to figure out which is which. This episode? It gets weird. From secret ash‑vacuuming systems in the Haunted Mansion, to the true source of that iconic Pirates of the Caribbean smell, to the unfortunate reality of what happens when a Disney character gets sick inside a 40‑pound costume… the guys break down each claim with equal parts horror and hysterics. They also tackle one of Disneyland's most persistent urban legends, explore the park's behind‑the‑scenes emergency protocols, and meet the ghostly figure who allegedly haunts Pirates of the Caribbean—complete with Cast Member rituals to keep him happy. If you've ever wondered what Disney doesn't put in the brochures, this episode is your backstage pass.In This Episode:- The Haunted Mansion's ash problem- Why Pirates of the Caribbean really smells the way it does- The nightmare scenario of puking inside a character head- The truth behind “No one dies at Disneyland”- George, the mischievous ghost who won't let the Pirates ride run smoothlyStrap in for a tour of Disneyland's darker corners—equal parts disturbing, hilarious, and unbelievably true… or is it?#AllegendlyPodcast #DisneylandSecrets #ThemeParkLore #ComedyPodcast #FactOrFake #DisneyMyths #SpookyDisney
The Mousedebaters talk Disney Would-You-Rathers.What begins as a perfectly normal episode quickly turns into a reminder that we should not be allowed to have microphones.Kami kicks things off by forcing Brittany and Luke to play “Guess the Disney movie based on its promo tagline” — a game that sounds fun until you realize that many of the official Disney taglines are wildly unhelpful and we are… mediocre under pressure. From there, we spiral into a round of Disney Would You Rather questions that say more about us than we're comfortable admitting, including:Would You Rather: Lick the entire Haunted Mansion queue handrail or ride the Storybook Canal Boats with your worst ex?Would You Rather: Be roasted to the point of tears by the Jungle Cruise Skipper or publicly reprimanded by a plaid vest?True to form, we're making questionable choices, revealing alarming personal preferences, and proving yet again that Disney fandom plus unchecked ADHD is a wild combination to record and put on the internet for everyone to hear.
How did lost concepts from the Haunted Mansion inspire the Tower of Terror?Drop in with us on this episode of Distory with Kate & Kirk as we check into California Adventure's lost Hollywood Tower Hotel to decipher the history, secrets, and stories hidden within its design. In this final episode in our 29-part Tower of Terror series, we check out of the DCA and DLP versions of the Tower of Terror, exploring details on the ride and in the exit of the attraction. After hearing some descriptions from the official Imagineering show guide, we explore the secrets of the looking glass, with a detour to a dark entertainment spot in Paris along the way. Kirk explains some changes to the ride mechanics and goes over the creepy new storyline for the Disneyland Paris version, before Kate walks us off the ride to explore the Modern Wonders in the shopping arcade at the exit. Haddy, a 3D printing company, has partnered with Disney to create a boat that will be installed in The Jungle Cruise as a prop. The Mark Twain Riverboat will be closing on January 12th through the 16th, the Haunted Mansion will return to the non-holiday overlay from January 11th through the 23rd. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is closed and will reopen January 23rd. The Incredicoaster is also currently closed and scheduled to reopen on February 6th. - https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/12/27/disneyland-just-updated-us-on-four-2026-ride-closures/ The first part of the construction to bring Porto's Bakery and Cafe to Downtown Disney has started. The two ticket booths closest to the old Earl of Sandwich location have been torn down to make way for the new eatery. - https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/old-disneyland-ticket-booths-demolished/ With the holiday season nearly over, the 70th Celebration can take center stage once more. Wondrous Journeys will return on January 8th, and the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade will return on January 9th. Paint the Night is also returning, but at the end of the month on January 30th. Animal Kingdom's next chapter begins as DinoLand sets its farewell, while Frozen Ever After gets a visual lift with new animatronic faces. When the guests go home and the music shuts off, the parks don't feel magical—they feel industrial. In the dark catwalks of Pirates, Cast Members swear a presence named George still checks in for work. In the Haunted Mansion, ashes are scattered so often the staff has a code for it. And at Universal, abandoned attractions don't always leave quietly. This is the folklore of Central Florida's theme parks: ghosts born from machines, rituals, and the human need to explain what shouldn't happen in a place designed to be perfect. hauntedamericanhistory.comPatreon- https://www.patreon.com/hauntedamericanhistoryLINKS FOR MY DEBUT NOVEL, THE FORGOTTEN BOROUGHBarnes and Noble - https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-forgotten-borough-christopher-feinstein/1148274794?ean=9798319693334AMAZON: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FQPQD68SEbookGOOGLE: https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=S5WCEQAAQBAJ&pli=1KOBO: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-forgotten-borough-2?sId=a10cf8af-5fbd-475e-97c4-76966ec87994&ssId=DX3jihH_5_2bUeP1xoje_SMASHWORD: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/1853316 !! Howard Johnson – http://www.wyndhamhotels.com/hotels/01051?corporate_id=1000098677 News: The Disney Parks YouTube channel is at it again with a new glimpse behind the curtain to show what it takes to get Cars Land ready for the holidays. In the latest Disney Unscripted episode, they follow the crew that transforms the land from Halloween to Christmas overnight. From warehouse to park and all the work to get completed in one night before the guests show up in the morning, this video shows it all. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/cars-land-halloween-holiday-transformation/ Disney has posted the availability calendar for the new Explore Magic Key that we spoke about last episode. The new key will have extended availability in the summer, opening up a lot of days in June and July that the Enchant Key was blocked out for. There are some other dates that are blocked out on the new key, so take a look at the link in the show notes if you are interested in comparing. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/ The standard refurbishment for Haunted Mansion after the holiday season has an end date. January 23rd will be the return of the classic Haunted Mansion variation. Also added to the refurbishment list for the first time is Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. It will enter refurbishment on January 20th, with no current return date. – https://www.micechat.com/428675-disneyland-news-construction-portos-rise-of-the-resistance-haunted-mansion/ Navigation around the park after nighttime spectaculars might be a little easier to see. New electronic signs have debuted that give guests directions on where to go to get to certain locations in the park. This replaces the cast members yelling directions, or the dimply lit handheld signs that were previously used. – https://www.micechat.com/428675-disneyland-news-construction-portos-rise-of-the-resistance-haunted-mansion/ A fun activity is available in Cars Land. Inside of Sarge's Surplus Hut, there is a display with a red mailbox. At this mailbox, you can write a letter to Santa Car. Mater will then take everyone's letters to Santa Car to the North Pole, along with his friend Lightning McQueen. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/12/14/confirmed-this-might-be-the-best-holiday-thing-you-can-do-in-a-disney-park/ A small version of “it's a small world” appeared on the Disneyland Instagram this week. The video showed off a model of the classic attraction in the park, in front of the full-sized attraction. The video goes on to show the creation of the miniature, which features 120 individual bushes, trees, and shrubs, and took over 200 hours to create. The miniature is on display in the small world toy shop. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disneyland-small-world-model/ As we reported last week, work has finally begun on the new Porto's location in Downtown Disney. Construction walls have gone up and encircle the ticket booths on the Disney California Adventure side of the west esplanade. This is a great sign of progress. Another area slow to redevelopment has been the old ESPN building, which now has signage up for lululemon! The old Tortilla Jo's location, which has been sitting stagnant since demo finished in the summer, is still happening, but waiting on permits with the city to continue. Construction here should hopefully resume soon. – https://www.micechat.com/428675-disneyland-news-construction-portos-rise-of-the-resistance-haunted-mansion/ SnackChat: Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/downtown-disney-district/jazz-kitchen-coastal-grill-patio/menus/ Discussion Topic: Tomorrowland Star Wars Retheme – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disneyland-star-wars-retheme-concept-art-from-doug-chiang/ Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! On the outside, it's a stately 24-room mansion—brick, elegant, and frozen in time. On the inside, the Historic Hannah House in Indianapolis feels like it's still holding its breath. Today on The Grave Talks, we step inside the world of Alexander Hannah, a man who left Indiana for the gold rush and returned home with enough fortune to build a grand estate… and possibly hide a much darker secret. For generations, whispers have circulated that Hannah quietly used his home as a stop on the Underground Railroad, sheltering those fleeing slavery in the basement below. According to legend, one tragic night turned that act of courage into catastrophe—transforming the cellar into a mass grave for those who never made it to freedom. Are these stories just local lore, or does the house itself remember exactly what happened? Joining us are paranormal investigator and volunteer Brooke Boyer, and Bud Kelly, event coordinator at the Hannah House. They've spent countless hours within its rooms, listening to the knocks, voices, cold spots, and disembodied footsteps that seem to echo from another time. Is Alexander still watching over his home? And are the souls that may have perished there still trying to tell their story? This is Part Two of our conversation. #TheGraveTalks #HannahHouse #HistoricHannahHouse #HauntedIndiana #IndianapolisHistory #UndergroundRailroad #HauntedMansion #ParanormalPodcast #TrueGhostStories #HistoricHauntings #GhostsOfIndiana #ParanormalInvestigation For more information about the mansion, tours and investigations, visit their website at historichannahmansion.com or search Historic Hannah House on Facebook. A buried bone pit filled with dismembered skeletons. Glowing underpants. Flying squirrels that light up like neon signs. Welcome back to The Box of Oddities, where Kat and Jethro dive into the wonderfully disturbing corners of archaeology, biology, and… their own questionable childhood traditions. In this episode, JG uncovers the shocking truth behind Pottery Mound, a quiet rise of earth outside Albuquerque that revealed one of the most unsettling archaeological finds in the Southwest. When excavators cracked open what they assumed was an ordinary pit, they found instead a layered mass of dismembered human remains—meticulously cut, sorted, painted, burned, and arranged over generations. Thanks to modern forensic anthropology, the truth of this centuries-old ritual practice is finally coming into focus. Was it violence? Worship? A conversation with the dead? Jethro explains how new scanning technology has rewritten what we know about Puebloan mortuary traditions. Then Kat swoops in with something equally strange but significantly furrier—bioluminescent animals hiding in plain sight. From glow-in-the-dark fox squirrel bones to flying squirrels that fluoresce bubblegum pink, we explore the weird, luminous world seen only under ultraviolet light. Throw in scorpions, platypuses, sharks, frogs, and one unforgettable pair of glowing Haunted Mansion underpants, and you've got yourself classic BOO chaos. Plus:– The gateway dangers of sniffing blueberry-scented markers– Why ancient vending machines dispensed holy water– The mystery of “vomit/popcorn bowls– And the latest inductees into the Order of Freaks If you love unsettling archaeology, strange science, fluorescent wildlife, and the occasional underwear confession, this episode is for you. Fresh off the long Thanksgiving weekend, Jim and Lauren crawl out from under their leftover Pilgrim sandwiches to talk about Zootopia 2 absolutely owning the holiday box office, how that might shape Disney's sequel strategy, and the must-have merch that is already slithering into the parks. They also dig into McDonald's massive 70th anniversary Happy Meal promotion, Disney's official holiday book guide, and a couple of doorstop tomes that are now living in the Hersey household. In the back half, Jim takes Lauren on a whirlwind tour through nearly 80 years of Disney's talking-animal history - from Song of the South all the way to Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. NEWS • Zootopia 2's Thanksgiving opening pulls in a projected 156 million dollars domestically and around 400 million dollars overseas in just five days - more than half a billion total and one of the biggest Thanksgiving hauls ever. • How those numbers stack up against Wicked for Good and last year's Moana 2, plus why Universal probably is not panicking while it waits for the inevitable Wicked sing-along edition and a newly announced Galinda prequel novel. • The debut of Gary the Snake - a gloriously weird Zootopia 2 sipper at Disneyland - and Jim's crusade to track down Nog the snow seal pup plush that was gifted to Disney Television Animation staffers. • McDonald's 70th celebration Happy Meal, featuring 70 different Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and classic character toys with two figures per box - plus online grumbling over who made the cut (hello, Clarabelle) and who suspiciously did not (sorry, Cinderella). • Disney Parks Blog's holiday book guide, from deep-dive art and history titles like the X Atencio tribute and John Landau's memoir to Moana's “What if she stole the heart?” Twisted Tale, kid-friendly atlases, scratch-n-sniff adventures, and the giant Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks and Bring the Magic Home books currently threatening Lauren's fingernails. FEATURE • A crash course in Disney's history with anthropomorphized animals - starting with the animated sequences in 1946's Song of the South and why so many artists remembered that era as their happiest time at the studio after returning from World War II. • The rise and fall of the abandoned Chanticleer project, the “Roy's Boys” money feud with Walt, and how that detour accidentally sent Mark Davis to Imagineering where he helped create icons like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. • How The Aristocats, Robin Hood, and even The Jungle Book paved the way for modern animal worlds - including the infamous animation recycling in Robin Hood's “Phony King of England” sequence that sharp-eyed fans still spot today. • The long development path from the shelved spy thriller Savage Seas, starring Jack Savage, to the fully realized animal metropolis of Zootopia - including John Lasseter's notes, Jared Bush's CIA family background, and the last-minute decision to swap Nick Wilde out for Judy Hopps as the true lead. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! In 1901, legendary author Edith Wharton built The Mount—a grand summer estate meant to be her personal retreat from the world. Yet more than a century later, her words still ring true: “I don't believe in ghosts, but I'm afraid of them.” Over the years, the mansion's beauty has been shadowed by stories of disembodied voices, footsteps echoing through empty halls, and an unshakable presence that lingers long after the guests have gone. From its transformation into a girls' school to a theater troupe's residence, The Mount has accumulated layers of emotion, history, and mystery. Now, Crypto Paranormal Investigations, led by Miranda Arthur-Smith and Nick Smith-Koblitz, ventures into its opulent yet haunted corridors to uncover what still stirs within its walls. In this chilling episode of The Grave Talks, they share their findings, experiences, and evidence from one of America's most literary hauntings. Because at The Mount, it seems the stories never truly end—they just change narrators. This is Part Two of our conversation.
