A family of six. Two international Disney parks. A brand-new mega cruise ship. And one massive question: can you actually make a trip like that work with four kids and come home happy? We sit down with D'Nesha, who went from dreaming about Disney as a kid in Louisiana to pulling off a true bucket-list itinerary across Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore, then sailing Disney Cruise Line's newly launched Disney Adventure. We talk through the real planning behind a multi-stop Asia Disney vacation, including how she booked international flights first, price-tracked shorter regional hops, and chose hotels that made transportation simple. If you've wondered how to get around in Shanghai with Didi, how Hong Kong's metro and Octopus system feels with kids, or what long-haul flying is like when you're trying to avoid turning the cabin into chaos, D'Nesha shares what worked and what surprised her. She also gets candid about jet lag, language barriers, and why crowd culture at international Disney parks can lead to shorter ride waits and longer character lines. Then we shift to the Disney Adventure cruise experience: what felt different on a brand-new ship, how character interactions and crowd control work when thousands of guests are on the app at once, and why the entertainment, dining, and photo opportunities still delivered big “Disney” moments. D'Nesha also shares two critical planning topics families often miss: medication restrictions in certain countries and how visa-free entry rules depend on onward travel proof and timing. If you're planning Shanghai Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, a Singapore add-on, or your first Disney Cruise Line sailing in Asia, this conversation is full of practical tips and honest takeaways. Subscribe for more travel strategy, share this with your favorite Disney planner, and leave a review with the biggest international trip you'd attempt next. You can find D'Nesha on Instagram @raisingbabymerritts.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. This week on Miles To Go, Ed and Richard break down what the shutdown of Spirit Airlines means for travelers, employees, and the broader airline industry. From emotional final flights to stranded passengers scrambling for alternatives, the ripple effects are already being felt — and the response from other airlines hasn't exactly made things easier. So-called "rescue fares" sound helpful in theory, but in practice, they've offered limited relief for travelers trying to rebook last-minute trips. They also explore the bigger picture: what losing a major low-cost carrier means for competition, pricing, and access to travel — especially for families and budget-conscious flyers who relied on Spirit to make trips possible. Meanwhile, Delta is dealing with operational issues of its own, with an unusual spike in cancellations and reliability concerns that highlight how fragile airline operations can be. Plus, real-world travel frustrations — from rideshare chaos at Newark to the rising cost of simply getting to the airport — and why the overall travel experience keeps getting more expensive and more complicated. This week on Miles To Go, Ed and Richard are both back home — barely — after a pair of intense travel stretches. Ed recaps a family trip to Hong Kong, including Disneyland, Victoria Peak, and the Big Buddha… but also shares a deeper take on how the city feels different than it did years ago. From cultural shifts to increasing Westernization, it's a thoughtful look at a destination many travelers still have on their list. Meanwhile, Richard breaks down a whirlwind three-day, six-flight trip across the U.S. — complete with altitude sickness, broken Wi-Fi, and a reminder of why mileage-run style travel isn't as fun as it used to be. Plus, a surprising bright spot: Starlink Wi-Fi that actually works — and why that's becoming more important than ever. Fantasies of Hong Kong Disneyland: Attempted Indigenizations of Space, Labor, and Consumption (Rutgers UP, 2025) examines the attempt to transplant Disney's "happiest place on Earth" ethos to Hong Kong—with unhappy results. Focusing on the attempted localization and indigenization of this idea in a globalized transnational park, the book delves into the three-way dynamics of an American culture-corporation's intentions, China's government investment, and Hong Kong. The triple actors introduce an especially complex case as two of the world's most powerful entities, the nominally Communist state of China and corporate behemoth Disney, come together for a project in the third space of Hong Kong. The situation poses special challenges for Disney's efforts to manage space, labor, and consumption to achieve local adaptation and business success. Jenny Banh is a keynote speaker, curriculum developer, and professor of Asian American Studies and Anthropology at California State University, Fresno. Her current research examines the barriers/bridges to Southeast Asian American students, Asian Foodways, and a Hong Kong corporation. In her community work, she has conducted, coded, and transcribed over 40 oral histories of Southeast Asian Americans who live in California's Central Valley. Alors comment on y va ? This past week, locations were removed from the service. Disney's Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney, Pooh Corner, and Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen in Disneyland, Bing Bong's Sweets, and Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure are no longer using the system. - https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/11/22/news-mobile-order-removed-from-some-locations-on-disneyland-app/ Buying tickets to the Disneyland Resort might start to look more like booking tickets on an airline in the coming years. Dynamic pricing, or the ability for Disney to change the pricing depending on several factors throughout the day, week, or year, is already in place at Disneyland Paris, and according to Disney Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston, might be coming to the US parks. Ultimately, this will remove flat-rate pricing for specific days, and go to a range of prices for a day, which can vary based on attendance and weather, to name a few. - https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disney-parks-dynamic-pricing-coming-to-domestic-parks/ As the expansion to Avenger's Campus continues, Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the recent progress, which includes the canopy connecting Avenger's Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab being assembled. Two toys will be provided in each Happy Meal and should run through January 12th. The toys feature figures from Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. Enhancements will include play areas inspired by Altadena's Deodar Cedar pinecones, a splash pad, bridges, boulders, slides, swings… and what looks like a grove of giant clovers which might be from the old Bug's Land. - https://www.micechat.com/427679-disneyland-news-holiday-hights-lows-pricing-woes-talking-tree/ Olaf coming to Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoPN02bmzrE https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRcmtaHChvF/?igsh=MXN2d2t1aHBiaGxw SnackChat: Disney Recipe Ideas for Thanksgiving Leftovers - https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/disney-eats-thanksgiving-leftovers-recipes-from-disney-parks/ Lunch coming to River Belle Terrace - https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disneyland-river-belle-terrace-adds-lunch/ TriviaLand: Pirates of the Caribbean ride through - https://youtu.be/SakgAjh6xc4?si=FsCigo3y89B7dePE Discussion Topic: Director, Animator, and Tiki Enthusiast Paul Briggs - https://instagram.com/paul_briggs_tiki https://archive.org/details/the-illusion-of-life-disney-animation Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The miles are getting long, the holidays are closing in, and motivation is wobbling—so we get honest about what actually works. We talk through the head game of marathon training: patience over pace on long runs, how to break the distance into chunks that calm your mind, and why comparing speeds on social media can derail your best week. You'll leave with simple mental cues, smarter pacing targets, and a healthier way to handle missed miles without nuking your confidence. Then we fly to Hong Kong Disneyland for a runner's guide you can actually use. Registration quirks, pricing, and why it's cheaper than you think. Corrals with no proof of time, last‑minute gate openings, and back‑to‑back race tactics when a 5K and 3K are minutes apart. Expect fewer characters, more selfies, and shirts that genuinely outshine many U.S. race tops. The routes weave outside the park and along the waterfront before Main Street and the Castle of Magical Dreams. Community stories bring the heart. The Rocky Run in Philly brought heat, crowds, and Mount Drago—a hill that humbled big goals and reminded us how to pivot mid‑race and still finish strong. Across the map, listeners logged PRs, first halves, charity 5Ks, and holiday light runs. We also spotlight a small business comeback from Fluffy Fizzies, with recovery goodies, expo preorders, and a reminder that resilience is built the same way as endurance: steady, honest, and supported.Hit play if you need a reset on training mindset, you're curious about international Disney races, or you just want a boost from runners who get it. If this helped, follow the show, share it with a training buddy, and drop a review so more runners can find us.Rise and Run LinksRise and Run Podcast Facebook PageRise and Run Podcast InstagramRise and Run Podcast Website and ShopRise and Run PatreonRunningwithalysha Alysha's Run Coaching (Mention Rise And Run and get $10 off) Send us a textSupport the showRise and Run Podcast is supported by our audience.
