News: An iconic part of Disneyland history – and Disney in general will be getting refurbished soon. Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room closed this week to perform routine maintenance on the lighting, sound, and show. The mighty tree of Tangaroa will be recreated from a high resolution digital scan. The current Tangaroa is no longer able to be repaired, having been there since the attraction opening in 1963. Question 2: I have Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular on my mind. If you could make a stunt show off another Disney property, what would it be? Question 3: DTD 2.0 seems to be adding in more chain restaurants/stores. What chain restaurant (can be a local or national chain) would you add into a Disney park/resort, where would it go, would it have a theme etc. Question 4: What is a ride/show/expereince that Disney Parks should never have done in the parks? Bonus Question: Alright - the inspiration for this is somewhat selfish as I am working on my "must do list" for WDW and it got me curious - what are your top 3 non- theme park must do things when visiting DLR or WDW. The 5k “Celebrate Joy” race will take place on January 30th, the 10k “Celebrate Imagination” race will take place January 31st, and the “Celebrate Togetherness” half-marathon will round out the weekend on February 1st. One of these was the updated experience coming next year to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. The new adventure will feature the Mandalorian and Grogu, better known as “the child” from the hit Disney+ series. This new experience will take guests to new locations for the attraction, like Cloud City, Tatooine, and the Death Star wreckage. News: With the upcoming 70th anniversary at Disneyland coming up fast, there has been some work to get the parks in tip-top shape. Last week, Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge had the cannons fixed! This effect has not been working for the last year or more. Rumor online is that it was a programming issue that over the course of the day the movement got out of sync and caused the attraction to stop working. Disney announced that the last operating day for the attraction will be February 8th. One of the trolleys should be parked on Buena Vista Street to allow for photos during construction. More sights and sounds are coming to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. News: Plans have been submitted to the city of Anaheim for prep work to begin the expansion of Avengers Campus. The plan includes utilities, temporary trailers, and parking lots in the backstage area behind Avengers Campus. The expansion is NOT part of the DisneylandForward plan, according to the city. Construction should begin in 2025. – NEWS: Disney Submits Plans for NEW Park Expansion | the disney food blog Last week was Thanksgiving in the United States, and Walt Disney World and Disneyland helped those in need. In Anaheim, Disneyland teamed up with Northgate Gonzalez Markets to deliver groceries to 125 families, and $15,000 in holiday food vouchers to community nonprofits. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress, Anaheim Independica Family Resource Center, and Chrysalis Anaheim were all recipients of the vouchers. – Disney Serves Up Food for Families in Need this Thanksgiving – Disney Parks Blog We talked about the new Haunted Mansion queue last week on the podcast, and even more in the bonus episode that is out now for supporters, but Disney has posted even more about it on the Disney Parks Blog. The first part of the new queue was designed by Master Gracey, one of the mansion's ghosts. Further along is Madame Leota's garden. Finally, near the back of the queue is the mansion greenhouse, which belongs to all the mansion's ghosts. The new shop also has a name now – Somewhere Beyond. Before being a shop, the cariiage house was home to the mansion's head caretaker, but Madame Leota took over. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/new-haunted-mansion-experiences-disneyland/ This holiday season is the first for the newly reimagined Pixar Place Hotel. There are multiple trees around the lobby, each themed to a different Disney/Pixar movie. New counters and cabinetry have been installed, making this look like a more permanent location that blends in with the Craftsmen style of the hotel. – DISNEYLAND UPDATE: Holiday Humbugs, Haunted Happenings & the Pricing Paradox One of the new shops has opened in Downtown Disney! D-Lander. which features high-end products and collaborations with different clothing and jewelry brands. The immediate family of Walt Disney himself are asking guests to write in to the company to get the animatronic Walt scrapped. A child's portion is available for $10.49. With the Candlelight Processional happening soon, it needed to be complete for the setup that features that station as a stage and backdrop.
