Ogden, Utah - Junction City - Finn's career as a lawman and copper begins as the Roaring 20's begin, bursting onto the scene filled with promise and prosperity. But much as the Great Depression loomed to bring the Gilded Age crashing to an end, will the same happen to Finn? With an innate knack due to skill and street knowledge of putting himself in the right place at the right time, many would chalk it up to the Luck of the Irish early on. But his constant ability to be about that action boss, puts Finn in a category unto himself of the episodes we've done so far. This episode, where gunfights with gangsters and kidnapped boxers meets inner demons and unhealthy coping mechanisms for a man who had many life altering events happen to him in the span of a few short months. We will also cover Finn's good friend and partner L.L. Nelson in this episode who formed a friendship and dynamic duo with Finn that came to a tragic ending. Mayor Peery's bi-polar handling of all things police and political rears its head again as Finn is named Captain of Detectives and within three weeks Chief of Police. How does it all end and what is the lesson to be learned? Join us for a tale of Justice, Booze, Policing, Prohibition, Speakeasies, Gangsters, Boxers, Shootings, Robberies, The Most Dangerous Street in America, and all things Ogden on this episode and decide for yourself if the message Finn wants us to take away is only the action and rags-to-riches there-and-back type of tale, or is there something deeper that he would want us to learn from him?Note: This episode contains language taken directly from the article at the time. For me, this episode to date has been the most taxing to work on, but also the most rewarding, as I think for some of us there is a very There But For the Grace of God feeling to his tale. Check on your buddies and check on your People but above all, listen and decide for yourself.
