**Discussion begins at 3:30**Last month, the Louvre museum's Galerie d'Apollon was the target of a brazen heist, with four men fleeing with eight pieces of French Crown Jewels valued at over $100 million USD or €88 million.  Disguised as construction workers and using a truck-mounted lift, two of the suspects accessed a first-floor window, cut into display cases, and fled via motorbikes with their loot.  The heist immediately generated a search for the jewels and suspects, as well as a plethora of other questions.  How did the thieves know exactly which window was weak, which display cases to target, and how to orchestrate a clean, rapid escape?  Was this an opportunistic crime, or a deliberately orchestrated inside job?  Questions also circulated surrounding the lack of surveillance and intrusion protocols despite previous security audits and known vulnerabilities.  With key items still missing and suspects only partially cooperating, theories abound -  Were the four thieves part of a larger network?  And what was the motive?  Could this have been a commissioned theft for a private collector, or were the pieces dismantled, recut, and resold with assistance of an underground network?  Today we'll discuss what we know about the Louvre Heist, focusing on the possibilities of a larger conspiracy. Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

Josh recounts a childhood marked by food insecurity, neglect, and sexual abuse from ages 6 to 9, detailing how these Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) created a foundation of pain and insecurity. He explains how this trauma led to a 23-year struggle with substance abuse, using drugs and alcohol as a way to survive the voices in his head. In this powerful, deeply personal interview, Tanc walks us through a life shaped by gang culture, prison time, cartel connections, near-death situations, and ultimately—transformation. From his early days in the California state system to navigating the dangerous world of cross-border drug trafficking, he breaks down how major operations moved product from Peru and Mexico into the U.S., what it was like coordinating “jumps” across the border, why warehouses sat full of hundreds of untouched bricks, and the razor-thin line between survival and disaster. He also opens up about fatherhood changing his mindset, the struggle to find legitimate work after prison, facing racism while trying to re-enter society, and how community college became the unlikely start of a new path. And explore our website, M2D4Podcast.com for all our episodes and authors. The rules for law and order create the boundaries for civil co-existence and, ideally, the backdrops for individuals, families, and companies to grow and thrive. Breaking these rules puts civil order at risk. And while murder is the Big Daddy of crimes, codified ordinances across municipal divisions, counties, states, and countries show the nearly endless ways there are to create mayhem. This season, we put our detective skills to the test. This is Season 8, Anything but Murder. This is Episode 21, home burglary is the featured crime. This Karen and the Cul-De-Sac Caper by Kyra JacobsAbout home burglaryLet's start with the difference between robbery and burglary. Robbery is stealing from a person using force or fear. It can occur anywhere and is classified as a violent crime. Burglary is unlawful entry of a structure—a home, a hotel, a bank, etc. There is no confrontation between the bad guy and a person. This is considered a property crime. In looking for examples, actors, athletes, and other rich and famous have become targets of organized rings. Some of the cases are burglary with the bad guys breaking in while the homes were empty. Other are robberies where the owners were at home, some with their children. Sadly, some victims were held at gun point or threatened with other violence while others hid or fled their homes. In February, 2025, the Justice Department unsealed indictments against 7 Chilean Nationals charging them with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property associated with the burglarization of the homes of professional athletes around the county. From burying cash to busting into the Dome, Lee Wenham's criminal career reads like a Hollywood script. But how does a small-time crook end up masterminding one of Britain's most audacious heists? Alice Levine and Matt Forde sit down with Wenham to uncover the man behind the plan. He reveals how breaking into the Dome was easier than cracking a cash point, why diamonds never impressed him and how prison life was a breeze (for him, at least). Dubbed the Heist of the Century, the Antwerp Diamond Heist is straight out of a movie, seriously, I'm pretty sure the plot to the Ocean's 11 remake pulled a lotta inspiration from the events that actually took place. Antwerp is known as the diamond capital of the world. 85% of the rough diamonds in the world make their way to Antwerp. The Diamond District is where the cutting, polishing, wheeling, dealing takes place. When you have that many diamonds circulating around you're gonna need a very secure place to store them, like an underground vault with ten or more different levels of security preventing a break-in. Most thieves would look at this place and give it a hard pass. That is unless you're a member of The School of Turin, a mysterious organization known to count master thieves from all disciplines amongst its members. But to pull off a caper that escapes with more than $100 million in jewels, you need more than luck, you need preparation, skill....and a salami sandwich. Four people murdered in cold blood. A baby left sitting in a car seat in a stranger's yard, alone. And somehow, the man accused of doing it — Austin Drummond — is still trying to control the narrative from behind bars. This is what happens when evil gets too comfortable with itself. Drummond isn't some unhinged mystery; he's a career predator who's been testing limits since the day the system let him out early. Robbery. Attempted murder. Released in 2024. On bond when he wiped out nearly an entire family in Lake County, Tennessee. He killed the people closest to him — his girlfriend's family — and then abandoned their baby forty miles away like an afterthought. Now he's behind bars, and still performing. Guards say he's been caught with narcotics, covering his cell door in paper and feces, causing chaos every way he can. He's not losing his mind — he's working the room. This is how narcissistic psychopaths survive: they create chaos, force the world to orbit around them, and call it control. You can take away the gun. You can lock the cell. But you can't cage the ego. Drummond has turned his cell into a stage. Every disgusting act, every tantrum, every outburst is another move in his game. Because if you're talking about him, he's still winning. The same control he exercised with a trigger, he now wields through manipulation. You can see it in every report, every court motion, every moment he refuses to act human. He's not insane. He's addicted — not to drugs, but to dominance. This is the man who's learned that if he can't rule the outside world, he'll rule the one inside his cell. He'll make guards disgusted, psychologists confused, and the public fascinated. Because to him, that's oxygen. That's relevance. And the system? It keeps giving him what he wants. The headlines. The coverage. The spotlight. The endless “what went wrong?” debates. What went wrong is simple: we keep mistaking performance for psychosis. We call it mental illness when it's just manipulation with better lighting. Austin Drummond isn't broken. He's hollow. He's the kind of human shell that feeds off outrage and fear. He's the same man who once looked at a baby and saw disposable evidence. That's not insanity — that's the pure absence of empathy. This isn't a story about one killer. It's about how a system so obsessed with “second chances” keeps handing them to people who only use them to destroy. He was already on bond for attempted murder. He should've been locked away. Instead, four lives were wiped out, and a child will grow up knowing the only reason they're still alive is because the killer got bored of holding them. And now, that killer sits in a state prison cell, convinced he's still in control. This is what narcissistic collapse looks like — a man whose only identity is the chaos he can still create. Every time we give him airtime, every time a headline drops, he gets what he wants. But what he'll never get again is freedom. And that's the one thing his ego can't perform its way out of. Four people are gone. A baby grows up without a family. And the monster who did it still thinks he's writing the script. He's not. He's the ending. #AustinDrummond #HiddenKillers #TrueCrime #TonyBrueski #Murder #Psychopath #CriminalMind #JusticeSystem #Control #PrisonPsychology #Narcissism #Manipulation #Ego #DeathPenalty #LakeCounty #TrueCrimePodcast Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
