The son of Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner is being held on suspicion of the murder of his parents. Police say 32-year-old Nick Reiner's been booked for murder after Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home. They say he's a suspect in the case and is being held on a US$4 million bail. US Correspondent Richard Arnold told Heather du Plessis-Allan that Reiner and his wife had apparently taken their son to a holiday party, where he had apparently been disruptive, the day before their bodies were found. 55year old Billy Burns found guilty of the murder of hid mother in Co. Kerry has been sentenced to life in prison. Our reporter Sharon Lynch was in court this morning.

A mother convicted of murdering her two young children will remain behind bars for at least 17 years, after her sentencing in Auckland today. Hakyung Lee was found guilty by a jury of murdering eight-year-old Yuna Jo and six-year-old Minu Jo earlier this year. She concealed their bodies inside suitcases, hidden inside a storage locker, before leaving the country. The children were discovered almost four years later after the contents of the locker was bought in an online auction. At sentencing, Lee's family spoke of the immense anguish the murders have caused. Finn Blackwell reports.

Yesterday a jury at the Central Criminal Court unanimously convicted 55-year-old Billy Burns with an address in Arlington Lodge, Tralee of murdering his 75-year-old mother Miriam, rejecting his claim that he should be found not guilty by reason of insanity having strangled her to death at her home in Ardshanavooley, Killarney three years ago while suffering a manic episode related to bipolar disorder. The jury accepted the prosecution's case that the cause of his killing his mother was not mental illness but his "long-term abuse of drugs and alcohol" and anger towards her. She has reported on Russia's authoritarian decline from her home country and has reported on the war in Israel. Two weeks ago she released a video about a viral story that was dominating headlines related to the war in Israel — the story was about a young Gazan boy who was supposedly murdered in cold blood by the Israeli Defense Forces.This story, created by Anthony “Tony” Aguilar was given legitimacy by mainstream media like MSNBC, CNN, and even Tucker Carlson. The only problem was that Anthony Aguilar made the story up out of thin air. The supposed murdered child was found weeks later and confirmed alive.
