In this episode #1,078 of The Clay Edwards Show, I dive into a violent weekend in Mississippi where at least five shootings disrupted homecoming celebrations and campus events. This includes the deadliest mass shooting in the state's history in Leland, where 16 people were shot after a high school homecoming football game, leaving 6 dead and 10 in critical condition. Less than 24 hours later, a drive-by targeted a Leland gas station while a mother was inside with her children. Other tragedies: a double murder in Heidelberg following a homecoming event, a triple shooting with one death on Alcorn State University's campus, a shooting in the tailgate area at Jackson State University's homecoming game in Veterans Memorial Stadium, and another homecoming-related shooting in Rolling Fork. Beyond Mississippi, a double shooting near LSU's campus in Baton Rouge injured two during the Tigers' homecoming. Last weekend, a mass shooting in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, killed 2 and injured 12 in a rival groups shootout, with a juvenile arrested on murder charges.

On Sunday, an attacker drove a pickup truck into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) chapel in Grand Blanc, Michigan, subsequently opening fire on churchgoers and setting the building on fire. At least four people were killed and eight others wounded, and the suspect was killed by law enforcement responding to the scene. Grand Blanc police confirmedMonday afternoon that all churchgoers had been accounted for, and it does not expect to find more victims. Officials have not identified a possible motive for the attack, but local reports and interviews have suggested that the suspect — a 40-year-old former Marine — harbored ill will toward the Church. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the event as an act of targeted violence. Join Jim and Greg for the Monday 3 Martini Lunch as they marvel at Erika Kirk's powerful display of faith in forgiving her husband's killer, blast British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for recognizing a Palestinian state, and dissect two alarming incidents of political violence where officials seem oddly confused about the motives.First, they reflect on Sunday's memorial service for Charlie Kirk and the emotional moment when his widow, Erika Kirk, publicly forgave the “young man” who murdered her husband earlier this month. Jim calls it “one of the most profoundly Christian moments” we've ever witnessed in public life.Next, they slam Prime Minister Keir Starmer for effectively rewarding Hamas terrorism by formally recognizing a Palestinian state. Starmer insists this will remove Hamas from power, and reform the Palestinian Authority. Of course, he also blames Israel for the humanitarian problems in Gaza. Bottom line: he's not helping. Finally, they examine two recent instances of possible political violence where authorities seem to be confused about motive when the facts aren't very fuzzy. They discuss the California man who fired shots at the ABC affiliate in Sacramento and the guy who opened fire at a New Hampshire country club. In the latter incident, the gunman reportedly yelled "Free Palestine" before opening fire, but officials say it's unlikely that's what caused him to shoot people. Davon Eldemire grew up in the hood in Bridgeport, Connecticut with no father in the picture, raised by his mom and sisters as the only boy in the house. He had a passion for basketball but eventually got consumed by the street life, giving up his dream. That path led to a robbery where he shot someone and was sentenced to 14 years in prison. In this interview, Davon opens up about what it was like growing up without a father, how the streets pulled him in, and the moment that changed everything and landed him in prison. He shares what the years behind bars taught him about life, the mindset shift that turned his sentence into an opportunity, and how he is now using his experience to mentor the youth and keep them from going down the same path. #RaisedInTheHood #PrisonStories #LockedInPodcast #StreetLife #TrueCrimePodcast #PrisonLife #RedemptionStory #lifeafterprison Thank you to BLUECHEW & PRIZEPICKS for sponsoring this episode: BlueChew: Visit https://bluechew.com/ and use promo code LOCKEDIN at checkout to get your first month of BlueChew FREE & pay five bucks for shipping. Following the school shooting in Minneapolis, The Christian Post has offered a definitive answer for why these massacres keep happening and why gun restrictions won't work—people are evil. But why don't politically conservative Christians apply this logic to any other issues? Surprising new data show that more young men than women want to be parents one day, and there's a growing trend of single men becoming fathers by choice. What does this reveal about our society and the breakdown of dating and marriage? Theologian and best-selling author, Miroslav Volf, discusses his new book, “The Cost of Ambition.” He says our culture of competition is damaging, and too many Christians ignore what the Bible says about the dangers of ambition.
