On this first episode of season two of The Firefly Creatrix podcast I am speaking with Tamara, one of the Wild Sky Sisters about her experiences of reclaiming wild creativity… and what even is wild creativity? What can it look like? There are no definitions here, but the conversation opens up and embrace the notion that creativity exists in so many places, not just where we were ‘trained' to look for it.This is a conversation full of gems, of navigating this one wild and precious life together, of sisterhood and real, true collaboration where everyone gets to shine in their own unique way. Of the hurdles, the blocks, the challenges, the power of tears and release, and of the collective uprising into a new world of creativity that we find ourselves in.Tamara and I met on Red School's online Wild Power course and instantly connected over similar experiences with working within women's empowerment movements in Nepal and simultaneously in our own societies. And that was the start of a beautiful and ongoing friendship. In 2020 Wild Sky Sisters was born and I created the logo for Tamara and Ang which we are all still in love with.Join us for this conversation of friendship, twists and turns, vulnerable shares, musings and breaking glass ceilings of how we get to show up. I loved it and hope you do too.Find Tamara here on Instagram: @wildskysisters@tamarawildbreathAnd the Wild Sky Sisters website: https://www.wildskysisters.caThe Wild Sky Sisters' programmes are often held at times that are accessible to European time zones.I'd love to hear from you at sophie@thefireflycreatrix.com with any thoughts, feedback or requests for content discussion!Find me on Instagram@sophiemaliphant@thefireflycreatrixVisit my website thefireflycreatrix.com Hosted on Acast. Made up of core members JD Cronise (guitar, vocals), Kyle Shutt (guitar), and Bryan Richie (bass), The Sword is straightforward, hard hitting, stoner rock at its finest. While they started out as a doom metal band, they evolved into a noticeably deeper hard rock band, never once shedding the Sabbath-inspired pentatonic riffs along the way. Not a band for every occasion, but one that kicks a ton of ass.Closing track: “The Wild Sky” from Used Future (2018)Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/everyalbumeverMerchhttps://pandermonkey.creator-spring.com/Mike's EP:Pander Monkey on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple,Instagram:Mike @pandermonkeyAlex @everyalbumalexHistory Tom's stuff:Debut album on Bandcamp, Spotify, AppleSubstackWebsiteMike's Picks:Apocryphon (2012) — Best AlbumAge of Winters (2006) — Personal FavoriteHigh Country (2015) — Worst Album, Least FavoriteAlex's Picks:Age of Winters (2006) — Best Album, Personal FavoriteApocryphon (2012) — Worst Album, Least FavoriteAlbums we discussed this episode…Age of Winters (2006)Gods of the Earth (2008)Warp Riders (2010)Apocryphon (2012)High Country (2015)Used Future (2018)

Last time on Tidefall… Flip, Hera, and Salt's uncharacteristic success is cut short by Joe and Uriah as they tell the group about the brass guild bomb plot against Tidefall, the largest civilian vessel in the sea of clouds. On top of that, Nell is severely injured. Flip and Hera try some Wild Sky first aid to help heal Nell. Flip fails and almost freaks out, then Hera succeeds. Maximus tells Salt about how Les, the bombmaker, was meeting with two girls, likely Brass Guild. Flip takes Nell back to the hotel so they can both rest/heal... The group heads to the docks to try and find Leah. They do. Running low on options, they decide to make Joe the international super spy who is going to infiltrate Leah's ship to gather information on the bomb plot. With a stroke of luck, the group is able to locate some lights to communicate with Joe between the ships. Maximus tells the group he is going to take Nell back to the Blue Tide Wreck. Flip talks to Maximus before he leaves and hears the bombshell Flip's been waiting for... the Children of Yantis "made" Flip and Maximus knows. As he processes this revelation, Flip makes a new gun for Salt. The crew prepares a ship to follow Leah. They plan on going to Tidefall to stop the bombs. But before they leave, Flip disappears, having left with the Children of Yantis to find answers. What will happen next? Find out… now.
THE SWORD is truly a blessing. Blending the crushing heaviness and urgency of their own cutting-edge brand of doom metal with the cosmic feel of classic 70's style prog-rock, THE SWORD has carved out their own place in the pantheon of modern metal. Set your relaxer levels to “wormhole” (don't make it weird), check out the name of The Rib Lounge's new house band (it's actually even weirder than “wormhole” if you can believe it, although you're probably still stuck on “wormhole”) and JOIN US as we time travel through the multi-verse to sample but a slice of the doom-prog metal genius of that little old band from Austin.
