By practicing gratitude everyday, you will notice that your relationships with others improve. Here are three tips for doing just that: Keeping a journal: Keeping a journal of things you appreciate and things you want to do is a great way to practice gratitude everyday. Every day write down 3-5 items that you're thankful for. They could be simple things like the nice meal you had, the love shown by your partner, or even the lovely weather you just witnessed. Doing this every day's list of things you're grateful for is a great way to bring the things you're thankful into your daily life. If you find yourself feeling tired or depressed due to daily events in your life, try writing those feelings down. When you see something that really does help make you feel better, write it down. This will help you to be grateful every day for all the wonderful things you have. Remembering the things you're grateful for can also be an excellent way of practicing gratitude. Try to remember those things on a daily basis until they become a part of your everyday life. Then, when you notice yourself not being grateful enough, write them down again. When you write them down, keep them somewhere you can see them. When you don't have any things to be grateful for, think about everything that you've ever loved or are grateful to have. That is the best way to make a positive change in your life. Just think about what a good thing you did with the things you have. This is the most powerful and helpful way to take control of your life. You'll be able to see just how grateful you really are. And this will allow you to see things more opportunities than ever to help yourself and others. This type of daily life will allow you to really be grateful for all the amazing things that are going on in your daily life. Whether you're grateful for money, health, relationships, love, or anything else. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/intrinsic-motivation/support

All we hear today is negativity and complaints about this product and that service, but we seldom express appreciation for the things that exceeded our expectations. Have you ever thought of sending a letter of appreciation to the people who gave you that excellent product or service? Yes, a literal, in-the-flesh, pen-on-paper letter of appreciation. For sure, you are reading this on some electronic device, probably after checking a few emails and messages, but chances are you still have at least a vague memory of the time when every message was written on paper. Do you remember what it felt like to receive a letter or card from a friend or a loved one? Do you remember how incredibly personal and touching that experience was? Is it safe to assume that half of you still have that stash of old letters and cards around somewhere? Professional freelance copyeditor and author of How to Write Heartfelt Letters to Treasure, Lynette Smith believes that if we can resurrect that experience for the people we deal with in business, we can unlock better professional and personal relationships that go a long way.
