Every generation has a responsibility to the generation that follows them. The Apostle Paul told Timothy to not let anyone look down on him because he was young. May the church not do that to the youth and young adults in our church families. May, instead, God put his Spirit on them and raise them up.
It was the early 2000s, before 2007, and I was traveling through North Carolina listening to the radio, trying to find a Christian station to listen to, and to my surprise I happened upon a station that was playing Christian Hip Hop. While listening to this radio station mix there was a song that came on that was by an artist named Han Soul. I cannot remember the actual song I heard, but I knew as soon as I heard it that I wanted to hear more of his music. Years went by and the internet finally came to a place where I could find Artists for whom I may have searched for years, and finally I came across Han Soul just after his name came across my mind, in my spirit. I found him on Instagram and I was really excited about connecting with him and to hear his story. HanSoul (“Hans”) is a disciple, servant, and son of Jesus Christ. The Philadelphia native hit the scene in 1991, with the hit song Imagination that went to the top 10 on Billboard's rap charts (1991). Hans was the second rap artist signed to Epic/Sony records in 1991. He also completed an album with Loud/RCA records in 1993. It appeared Hans was living the American Dream with appearances and performances on BET's Teen Summit, Rap City, Arsenio Hall, The Party Machine and videos that were in rotation on BET and MTV Europe & extensive touring with many of hip hop's heavyweights of that era. Though Hans experienced massive amounts of exposure and success, it was not enough to put an end to the insatiable pain, depression, drug-usage and confusion. In the year of 1995, during his darkest days he pleaded with the Lord Jesus Christ to give him a new life. Christ answered his prayer by compelling him to completely surrender himself and rededicate his life to Him. In this new life in Christ, Hans is now living his life behind enemy lines proclaiming the gospel and bringing others to salvation. Since “switching lanes” Hans has released 6 very successful Christian hip-hop albums and numerous music videos that have received heavy rotation. He, along with DJ Official (Lecrae's former DJ), formed a major radio show on Radio One Philadelphia. Hans' ministry has been featured locally and nationally with interviews on TBN's Praise The Lord, CBN's 700 Club, NBC 10, Fox Philadelphia and ABC's Visions. Hans has toured with numerous notable Christian & Secular artists. Hans is an ordained minister and serves as Director of Youth & Young Adults for the Tri-State area for the Church of God, Anderson Indiana. Hans has directed, produced and edited a feature film entitled Jesus Saves! about his testimony. He holds a Master's of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University and is finishing up a Master's of Education from Eastern University. Hans resides in Philadelphia with his lovely wife Melanie. #HanSoul #PneuPneumaGodcast #NormanBrown #Minister #Rapper #Jesus #Cristiano #Dios #Bible #God #WordLifeRadio #prayer #Christian #podcast #KevinSamuels To book Norman for events, conferences, interviews and more email: pneu.pneuma.podcast@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pneu-pneuma/support

The launch of the “Hey, Mr. Wise Guy” podcast comes in the midst of the most unprecedented times in our nation. While we may have hoped for a promising and optimistic start to a brand new decade, we were confronted with the news of a deadly virus, a full on pandemic, quarantined life and now racial tensions at its worst in a country where many would say we've come so far. And while that may be true, the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmad Arbrey have forced our wild to engage in such a necessary conversation. Join me today as I feature a longtime friend of mine, Donnie Petty in a conversation on about racism, generational perspectives on race and the church's role in leading the conversation towards healing. Donnie has a truly wide reaching experience both in Church, corporate, and non-profit spaces. For the better part of the last decade, Donnie has been a Pastor on staff in various roles ranging from Youth/Young Adults, to Associate and E-Campus Pastor positions. Donnie also has vast experience in the corporate world working for electronics retailer Best Buy in both store and district level leadership—overseeing hiring, culture shaping initiatives, training high level management teams, and growth strategy implementation—regularly being recognized company wide as one of the top ranked leaders. Today—Donnie travels around the world preaching & teaching at churches, conferences, and conventions, as well as teaching at Bible Schools, and consulting with growing churches to ensure missional focus, visioneering growth strategies, and helping church staffs reach all God has called them to accomplish in the most effective way possible. Donnie brings his passion and experience to an already accomplished GroupOne39 team to ensure churches have “The right people, in the right seats, on the right bus”, so that both churches, and the Kingdom advances in a truly impactful, eternal way.

God is inclining us as new covenant keepers to look for these holy moments all around us. //Jeremiah 31:31-34The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.//This episode was written and recorded by Rev. "The God in whom Abraham trusted is a God who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things which do not exist."//Romans 4:13-25For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or to his descendants through the law but through the righteousness of faith. If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. For the law brings wrath; but where there is no law, neither is there violation. For this reason it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his descendants, not only to the adherents of the law but also to those who share the faith of Abraham (for he is the father of all of us, as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”)—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. Hoping against hope, he believed that he would become “the father of many nations,” according to what was said, “So numerous shall your descendants be.” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was already as good as dead (for he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, being fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Therefore his faith “was reckoned to him as righteousness.” Now the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be reckoned to us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was handed over to death for our trespasses and was raised for our justification.//This episode was written and recorded by Rev.
