It's often the small changes that reshape how people connect with the outdoors.” Episode Highlights 00:42 How a small cooler forever changed camping and visitation. 05:23 – RVs and modern camping units disrupt campgrounds built in the 1930s. 09:13 – Digital platforms can drive unexpected visitor surges. 10:52 –Reshaping reservation systems and campsite use. 14:44 – Why leaders must act, not react when disruptive innovations emerge. 15:50 – QR codes, drones, and geocaching are examples of disruptive tech in action. 21:37 – Monitoring trends to keep parks relevant. 25:34 – Shifting demographics and expectations require adaptation, not resistance. 27:35 – Small steps of change often matter more than sweeping cultural shifts. Disruptive innovations don't always arive with fanfare. In fact, they tend to be more subtle. In parks its the seemingly small coolers, gadgets, or trends that change everything. This conversation explores how small shifts reshape recreation, why leaders must act rather than react, and how to spot the next disruption before it takes hold. We made it to Episode 6 - the final in our 15 Architectural Decisions series and saved some of the best for last - Predictive and Proactive support (Pure1) combined with our Evergreen architecture and non-disruptive everything. In this episode, JD, Andrew and I dive into Pure Storage's foundational principles that ensure continuous operation and future-proof your storage. We explore the concept of "Non-Disruptive Everything," a core tenet that allows for seamless upgrades and expansions without any downtime. This ties directly into the innovative Evergreen Storage Model, which redefines the ownership experience by eliminating forklift upgrades and enabling independent evolution of performance, capacity, and features over a decade-long array lifecycle. We also discuss how Pure's proactive and predictive support, powered by Pure1, plays a critical role in maintaining this non-disruptive environment. Pure1's advanced analytics, anomaly detection, and data protection assessments provide unparalleled visibility and ensure that potential issues are identified and addressed before they impact operations. This integrated approach, from architecture to support, highlights how Pure Storage consistently delivers a cloud-like experience on-premises, setting a new standard for reliability and longevity in the storage industry. Thanks for watching our series. Series Overview: Pure Storage's foundational approach to product engineering is guided by 15 architectural decisions that were established at the company's inception and have shaped both the technical and user experience across its product lines. These architectural choices were not made arbitrarily—they stem from a deliberate focus on simplicity, efficiency, and scalability, ensuring Pure could deliver storage solutions that break away from legacy complexity and enable continuous innovation without compromise. This series will guide viewers through all of the 15 principles, helping you understand why certain choices were made, how they impact your operations, and how they compare to other industry features and products. Join Pure Report podcast hosts Rob Ludeman, Andrew Miller, and J.D Wallace for this fun technical retrospective on Pure Storage.
In this episode, Bill Kanasky, Jr., Ph.D. is joined by attorneys Johan Flynn and Kevin Greene to discuss their recent nine-week asbestos trial in California that resulted in a major defense verdict. Johan and Kevin describe how they incorporated CSI's disruptive voir dire techniques into their jury selection strategy, using them to identify unfavorable jurors, plant seeds on critical defense themes, and introduce concepts such as anchoring early in the process. They also share insights on trial strategy, including coordinating with co-defendants, refining opening slides after judicial rulings, and carefully managing cross-examinations. Both emphasize the importance of adapting to surprises during trial and managing their mental and physical health during a lengthy trial. Johan and Kevin credit their success in this trial to the disruptive voir dire approach, which helped them connect with the jurors in a meaningful way, and highlighted how psychological techniques in voir dire can carry through to closing, reactivating juror commitments made during jury selection and directly influencing the final verdict.
In this episode of Ag Tech Talk by AgriBusiness Global, we're joined by Prof. Michael Strano, Professor of Chemical Engineering at MIT and Co-Lead Principal Investigator at the Disruptive & Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Precision (DiSTAP) interdisciplinary research group at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology (SMART), MIT's research enterprise in Singapore. Strano shared how his team is pioneering real-time, non-invasive plant monitoring technologies that tap directly into the chemical “nervous system” of crops. Strano explains how tools like nanosensors, AI, and controlled environment systems are reshaping how we understand and optimize plant growth. From hormone-based crop diagnostics to nanotechnology-powered fertilizers and CRISPR delivery, he explores the innovations needed to close the gap between food security and sustainability—and what it will take to bring these tools to farms around the world.

In Acts 17:6, some nonbelievers plainly state the perception of Christians in their time: “These people turn the world upside down!” What a statement! And what a far cry from how the good news is experienced today. In this message, Pastor Joel examines a story from Acts 19 about how Paul, preaching the good news in a city called Ephesus, disrupted two of the main things that people relied on in their everyday lives: magic and idols, which at the end of the day are just means to control our worlds. What do we rely on today that is like magic and idols, and how might the good news of Jesus disrupt our reliance on them? This message is aimed at getting you to think about that question.
Immediately following the release of the FOMC meeting minutes from July, David Stryzewski talks about the Fed's current position as one between a "rock and a hard place." He says Fed members have to weigh whether to cut rates faster and risk higher inflation, or cut slower and risk hits to the labor and housing markets. David still expects 100bps in interest rate cuts by the end of 2025. On stock insights, he sees Tesla's (TSLA) expected A.I. and robotics technology to be industry "game changers." However, current valuations will challenge stock growth.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. What do glassblowing, fintech, and plastic-free diapers have in common? One brilliant disruptor: Jim McKelvey. I had the privilege of interviewing Jim McKelvey, the award-winning, Amazon-beating polymath who co-founded Square (now Block) with Jack Dorsey. But calling him just a fintech entrepreneur or a computer scientist would be like calling Leonardo da Vinci just a painter. This man defies categorization in the most fascinating way possible. "I'm a guy that's had no focus for 30 years," Jim told me with characteristic humility. "I am a transport category pilot. I'm a professional glass artist with industrial designs in MoMA and the Smithsonian. I'm a computer scientist. I was on the Federal Reserve and used to vote on interest rates. That was fun. I built the hardware for Square, which we now call Block. I've started a bunch of other companies...Ugh. Look, basically, what I do is I build tools." His "lack of focus" has actually been his superpower, creating a truly unique lens on innovation, branding, and problem-solving that most specialists simply can't achieve. From Frustration to Billion-Dollar Solutions Our conversation revealed how Jim transforms everyday frustrations into industry-changing innovations. The Square story began with something as mundane as being unable to accept American Express at his glass studio. That simple pain point sparked a billion-dollar disruption that fundamentally changed mobile payments forever. Jim shared his methodology for spotting opportunities hiding in plain sight and building products that resonate deeply with audiences. More importantly, he explained how he predicts business disasters before they happen – and his track record is impressive! Hint: his accurate predictions about Southwest Airlines and other major corporate meltdowns, made it into his book "The Innovation Stack" years before its current challenges. Then he shares how and why brand associations can make or break a company (hello, Bud Light disaster. Listen for how that motivated his current project, PwrScore.ai.) The Art of Taking Calculated Risks What struck me most about Jim was his fearless approach to high-risk, high-impact projects. "I work on projects that are right now, sort of long shots because I'm in a position where I can take a long shot," he explained. "I've made way, way more money than I ever expected. My wife and I have taken the giving pledge, so we're gonna give all the money away, but in the meantime, I can take crazy risks." That's not just talk – Jim and his wife have literally committed to giving away their entire fortune for the betterment of the world. It's a level of commitment to pro-social behavior that's both inspiring and rare in today's business landscape. Two Game-Changing Projects You Need to Know About Jim pulled back the curtain on his current ventures, and they're both fascinating for completely different reasons. First is PwrScore, a that tool that measures and assesses brand resonance and compatibility using AI to minimize research bias and enhance brand capabilities through better data. The kicker? He's giving it away for free. Yes, really. This isn't some limited trial – it's a genuinely useful tool that most companies would charge thousands for, and Jim is just handing it out because he believes it can help businesses make better decisions. PwrScore.ai The second project might sound unusual, but it could change the world: plastic-free diapers. "Diapers last for a thousand years and they become these horrible microplastics that are bad for the world, and I just thought it could be possible to do it without plastic. So I've been working on it for five years with a team. We're this close to a breakthrough..." Think about it – billions of diapers end up in landfills every year, taking centuries to decompose and creating environmental havoc. If Jim cracks this code, the sustainability impact could be massive.

(John 5:1-9) At the Pool of Bethesda in John 5, a man crippled for thirty-eight years waits by a superstition for healing—hoping an angel might stir the waters. But when Jesus approaches him and asks, “Do you want to be healed?”, the man responds not with faith but with a narrative of blame and misplaced hope. He believes the problem is that others won't help him and that healing lies in the water—not in the One standing before him. Yet Jesus doesn't offer technique or sympathy; He offers Lordship. True healing, the passage shows, doesn't come through self-diagnosis, cultural remedies, or emotional management, but through surrender to the authority of Christ. This man, like many of us, wants healing without disruption, freedom without obedience. But Jesus heals by commanding—not coddling—because He is not a tool for wellness, but the Lord of wholeness. Only when we relinquish our narratives and submit to Him do we discover a deeper healing—one that outlasts trauma, transcends pain, and restores us to God.

New Alvaria CX Chief Product Officer Chris Botting shows how current Gen AI disruption is changing the economics of what customers think is possible, accelerating the speed of tool ramp up from quarters to days or weeks. Impactful leadership in times of dynamic transitions is all about remembering leaders operate in fishbowls where "there is always someone watching." Building a sustainable, healthy culture not about getting everyone to think the same way. It is about agreeing on how people are going to work together to serve a higher need. Continuous improvement comes from the leadership courage of inviting constructive input from customers and your teams. "If you're not going to do anything with the answer then you shouldn't ask the question."

We've turned the Good Samaritan into a feel-good story about kindness—but Jesus told it to provoke, challenge, and disrupt. This sermon unpacks the radical edge of the parable: a call to draw near, to cross boundaries, and to embody the kind of gut-level compassion that costs us something. Real compassion isn't about being nice—it's about being willing to get messy. Featuring a live interview with Matt and Coralie Brown, former members of Highway now serving refugees in Kentucky.
