Together, they explore what it means to show up whole—in institutions that often ask people to fragment themselves—and how stories, space, and social work can become tools for collective liberation. From growing up in the Bronx to navigating higher education, Elizabeth shares her journey of becoming someone who questions, reframes, and reclaims power for herself and her community. Singing Our Faith: Go Down, CUMC Scripture: Exodus 5:1–6:8 (CEB)This week in our Singing Our Faith worship series, Central UMC welcomed guest preacher Rev. Lemuel Pearsall, Jr. to reflect on the story of Moses, Pharaoh, and God's unshakable promises. Standing before Pharaoh, Moses demanded freedom for God's people, only to see their burdens grow heavier — bricks without straw, beatings without mercy, despair without relief. Pharaoh's arrogance, the Israelites' frustration, and even Moses' own doubt all reveal how unbelief takes root in the face of suffering.Yet God's response is steadfast: I will bring you out. I will deliver you. I will redeem you. I will take you as my people. I will be your God. Seven promises of covenant love, each later fulfilled in Christ. Rev. Pearsall reminded us that faith is not the absence of questions, but where we bring them. Like Moses, we are invited to groan in the right direction — to lay our pain, doubt, and longing before God, who is faithful even when we are not.The legacy of the spiritual “Go Down, Moses” echoes this truth: God stands with the oppressed, delivers the enslaved, and calls us to confront the Pharaohs of our own time. Our hope is not in our strength, but in the God who has already said yes and amen through Christ Jesus.

In this episode of It's About to Go Down!, Marc and Cathey sit down with Rose Kaz—change-architect, storyteller, and unapologetic champion of data-sovereignty—to unpack her bold mission: building the safest place on the Internet for women (and their allies). What began as live panel conversations with women across the globe turned into a five-year quest to design a digital home where sharing ideas about money, sex and politics isn't policed by algorithms—or trolls. Together, they unpack the risks women communities face online, the power of persistence over perfect timing, and hands-on tactics for building safer, more open digital spaces. Whether you code, curate, coach, or simply care about healthier digital culture, Rose's mix of high-vibe optimism and real-talk strategy will leave you rethinking how—and where—you share your brilliance. What kind of legacy will you leave? One that spirals upward toward strength and faith, or downward toward destruction? The 5 Chairs series calls out men to step into the Driver's Seat and Captain's Chair of their lives, not just for themselves, but for the generations that follow. From the early “me for me” years to leading a family from a “me for them” mindset, Pastor Jim Burgen lays out the hard truth: character drives your life, and the way you lead will shape your family's future for better or worse.Through raw honesty, biblical truth, and practical action steps, Jim challenges men to reject the lies of unworthiness, armor up for spiritual battle, and surround themselves with brothers who will fight alongside them. This is a call to reverse destructive patterns, protect your family, and build a legacy rooted in courage, faith, and sacrificial love.

If you're tired of The Last of Us, well, it's really too bad. That's because Naughty Dog has updated The Last of Us: Part II yet again, this time with a so-called Chronological Mode that orders the game's chapters and subchapters sequentially. It's easy to mock this many updates, of course, but in reality, is Sony going above-and-beyond in keeping some of its older games alive? Shouldn't we applaud the years-long dedication to not only The Last of Us, but to God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Horizon, and others? We discuss. Then: Twisted Metal's second season on Peacock gets a new trailer, STALKER 2 is finally confirmed for PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy IX Remake may be in trouble, Capcom acknowledges Mega Man, and more. Plus: Listener inquiries! If we could only play a single game-as-a-service, which would it be? Could gaming be entering a more serious phase, as the industry finds itself fused more with education? There are some indelible scenes inscribed forever into the psyche of the West, and the death of Dido is one of them. When William Congreve wrote that "Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd, Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd," he surely had in mind this archetype of all scorned women, the tragic heroine who stands in for every abandoned lover and for an entire civilization. Aeneas--and Rome--must leave her ruthlessly in the dust. But no one knows how to guilt trip you like your ex, and no one knows how to remonstrate with Rome like Carthage. Barcelona in Spain is famous for its beautiful streets, lined with tall apartment buildings. But the architecture is a problem for many people who have lived for years in upstairs apartments but who now find the stairs unmanageable. In 2008, a survey found that in one district there were 300 people who could not leave their homes alone. A group of volunteers decided to do something about this and got hold of a special wheelchair with caterpillar tracks, so it can be used to take people up and down stairs. After an initial pilot scheme they launched a local service called “Let's Go Down to the Street”, to help elderly residents go shopping or meet up with friends. Sixteen years on, the service is offered across the city.Plus we visit a home for senior citizens in an unlikely location: a university campus.
