Joshua Noel and Christian Ashley dive deep into the often-overlooked mobile games of the Kingdom Hearts series in this episode, all in the lead-up to the franchise's big 25th anniversary next year. They kick things off by exploring the narrative significance of titles like Coded and Union X, revealing how these games fill in crucial lore gaps while also poking fun at their often convoluted storytelling. Both hosts, being self-proclaimed Kingdom Hearts aficionados, share their thoughts on the games' mechanics and how they connect to the larger franchise, even if they admit that playing mobile games isn't everyone's cup of tea. As they banter about the future of the series and the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 4 announcement that's just around the corner, listeners are treated to a mix of insightful analysis and cheeky humor. So, whether you're a die-hard fan or just dipping your toes into the Kingdom Hearts waters, this episode is packed with plenty of geeky goodness to keep you engaged! Diving into the Kingdom Hearts universe, Joshua and Christian kick off their exploration of the franchise by discussing the often-overlooked mobile games that chronologically set the stage for the entire saga. They reflect on their own experiences with these titles, which many fans only know from cutscene compilations rather than actual gameplay. The conversation flows naturally as they express their excitement for the upcoming 25th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, teasing about the potential twists that might arise in the next installment, especially with fan-favorite characters like Donald and Goofy possibly venturing into Hades. They cleverly weave in anecdotes about their latest geeky obsessions, like Christian's foray into classic sci-fi short stories and Joshua's comic book adventures with Godzilla. Amidst the banter, they delve into the plot mechanics of mobile games like 'Coded' and 'Union X', pointing out how they expand the lore and introduce pivotal characters that impact the overarching narrative. With a mix of nostalgia and humor, they critique the awkward transitions in gameplay, such as the rhythm game mechanics in 'Kingdom Hearts 2', and ponder the philosophical implications behind the Master of Masters and the unfolding Keyblade War. The episode is not just a recap; it's a heartfelt celebration of a beloved franchise, with laughs and insights that resonate with fans old and new.Takeaways:Joshua and Christian are on a nostalgic journey through the Kingdom Hearts series, gearing up for its 25th anniversary in 2027, and they've got plenty of thoughts to share about the mobile games that kicked things off.The mobile games, though often overlooked, carry significant lore that connects the dots between major titles in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, showcasing the intricate web of storytelling.Christian highlights the importance of character development and backstory in the mobile games, emphasizing how they enrich the narrative experience for fans of the series. The banter between Joshua and Christian adds a fun layer to the discussion, making it clear that while they are serious about their fandom, they can still poke fun at the sometimes convoluted plot of Kingdom Hearts.Listeners are reminded to check out D23 for new Kingdom Hearts announcements, suggesting that the excitement around the series is only going to grow from here.Joshua expresses his disdain for the Little Mermaid world in Kingdom Hearts 2, illustrating the passionate opinions fans have about different aspects of the game series..Be sure to check out our merch, find extra content, and become an official member of Systematic Geekology on our website:https://systematic-geekology-shop.fourthwall.com/.Check out all of our Disney episodes:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/09b1c796-b409-4cfe-bbd0-8b7a8032f846.Listen to our other gaming episodes:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/409f2d81-9857-4426-b1f0-d8a02e58b150.Listen to all of our Kingdom Hearts episodes:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/91eb2808-3652-46d5-9377-d0ff6a9cc354.Check out other episodes with Joshua:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/642da9db-496a-40f5-b212-7013d1e211e0.Listen to all of Christian's episodes:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/ebf4b064-0672-47dd-b5a3-0fff5f11b54cMentioned in this episode:Systematic GeekologyOur show focuses around our favorite fandoms that we discuss from a Christian perspective. Pack your camping gear, turn up the Powerline cassette, and hit the open road with us as we dive into the ultimate 90s animated cult classic, 1995's A Goofy Movie. In this episode of our movie review podcast, we unpack how a spunky Goof Troop spin-off evolved into a generational milestone defined by its unforgettable father-son emotional core, iconic soundtrack, and peak 90s Disney nostalgia. We break down the timeless bond between Goofy and Max, the legendary vocal performances of Jason Marsden, Bill Farmer, and Tevin Campbell, and why songs like "Stand Out" and "Eye to Eye" still slap over two decades later. Whether you are rewatching for the Leaning Tower of Cheesa, the Bigfoot dance sequence, or the pure mid-90s aesthetic, hit play to see why this fan-favorite stands out above the rest!#AGoofyMovie #Disney90s #Animated

Synopsis In this horror comedy, we’re introduced to three sorority sisters looking for a fun, boys-free getaway at a riverside cabin. Of course, the boys show up anyway, bringing plenty of relationship drama along with them. But the real trouble begins when toxic waste creates a colony of bloodthirsty zombie beavers that just won’t stay dead. What started as a carefree getaway quickly becomes a frantic fight for survival Review Zombeavers is one of those movies that has a huge following, and is incredibly hard for me to review objectively because it is so not for me. I understand the type of movie it is and it's intent but I feel like things still could have been improved to make it more watchable: better dialogue, characters, pacing. I honestly like the idea of zombie beavers, but it has to be done a little better than this. The movie is very self aware in that it really is parodying horror tropes in general which makes you feel in on the joke but when the majority of the characters are hard to connect with in anyway you lose the attention of your audience. Around half way through I was waiting for something more to happen, develop the characters or don't this fell somewhere in limbo. When the action starts it's pretty consistent. Goofy special effects are actually something I liked about this but something can be goofy and silly but have decent dialogue. I know there are die hard lovers of this movie but the whole time I was just wishing I was doing something else. The movie definitely doesn't take itself too seriously so you shouldn't either but that being said it's still a two out of ten movie for me. Score 2/10
What would you do... if you had the power of a young Denise Richards & Paul Walker, mixed in with some raunchy humor, B-movie horror gore, a robotic dinosaur on loan and a lion? Well with a short production window, you too could harness the magic of the 1990s B-movie wonder known as Tammy and the T-Rex, or Tanny and the Teenage T-Rex. It's an absolute master class in cinematic unpredictability and WTF-ness. From the director of Mac and Me, comes a family friendly teen romance about a girl named Tammy, or Tanny..., who has a possessive NOT-boyfriend named Billy, who is in love with a better boy named Michael, who turns out, gets his brain transplanted into an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex. Who would have thought! You will never know what the next scene holds in this truly unhinged film. Thanks for tuning in. A major Space Mountain refurbishment may be under consideration at Walt Disney World, and the rumor has Disney fans wondering how much of the classic attraction could change. Lauren and Eric break down reports of a possible retrack, redesigned queue and loading areas, updated ride vehicles, and new audio. They also discuss what an extended closure could mean for the PeopleMover and the larger future of Tomorrowland. Then, inspired by Space Mountain's notoriously rough ride, they compare the Disney attractions most likely to leave guests sore, dizzy, or searching for a chiropractor. HIGHLIGHTS • The latest rumor surrounding a major Space Mountain refurbishment at Walt Disney World. • What a possible retrack, redesigned queue, updated vehicles, and new audio could mean for the attraction. • Why fans want Disney to preserve Space Mountain's music, atmosphere, and classic Tomorrowland identity. • How an extended Space Mountain closure could affect the PeopleMover. • Whether Disney could add Star Wars, WALL-E, or another intellectual property to the ride. • Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Dinosaur, and Goofy's Sky School compete for Disney's roughest ride. • Mission: SPACE, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Smugglers Run, and Summit Plummet also earn painful reputations. runDisney didn't start as a massive, must-register-in-minutes phenomenon. It grew into that, and Jon Hughes was in the middle of the turning points. We finish our conversation with the Track Shack leader who helped bring the Walt Disney World Marathon to life, then watched it evolve into a global runDisney culture where first-timers, costumers, walkers, and marathoners all belong on the same course.Jon shares when the races first felt “bigger than expected,” why the paper signup era created real confusion about sellouts, and how new weekends and concepts like Wine and Dine's early night-race vibe reshaped logistics. We also get the origin story of the Goofy and Dopey challenges, including the moment the Dopey name clicked and why well-trained multi-race runners can actually fare better than people who show up underprepared for a single event. Along the way we talk characters, entertainment placement, and the simple reason so many people start running at Disney: they feel safe and welcomed.Back with the hosts, we bring it to the present with summer training honesty: slowing down in heat and humidity, staying consistent through wind and bad air quality, and holding onto the mindset that your current pace might be someone else's dream. Plus, Julia joins us for the race report spotlight to celebrate her 50th half marathon at Presque Isle and a strong finish as she lines up an ambitious season ahead. If you enjoy the show, subscribe, share it with a running friend, and leave us a review so more runners can find the Rise and Run community.Send us Fan MailSupport the showRise and Run Podcast is supported by our audience. Celebrate America's Bicentennial through the lens of Disneyland in this episode of Sent from Disneyland. We begin with a 1975 Jungle Cruise postcard featuring a skipper protecting guests from charging hippos, setting the stage for a look back at Disneyland's America on Parade celebration. From the park's 20th Anniversary logo to the iconic Spirit of '76 artwork featuring Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, we explore three different Disneyland guide maps produced during the Bicentennial years and the patriotic artwork that became synonymous with the celebration. A second postcard, showing the Primeval World dinosaurs along the Disneyland Railroad, takes us deeper into the evolution of these souvenir maps. We compare their changing cover artwork, movie advertisements, entertainment schedules, ticket prices, and even the subtle differences found inside each edition. Along the way, we revisit the daytime and nighttime performances of America on Parade and uncover how Disney promoted its films alongside the park experience during 1975 and 1976. The episode concludes with an incoming postcard mailed from Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, sparking a conversation about receiving "Disney magic" through the mail, the growing community of Disney postcard collectors, and a recommendation for this week's companion episode of the Photoniks podcast. News: Disneyland's Autopia attraction is facing a strict state-mandated deadline to retire its gas-powered car fleet by February 1, 2027, or face being shut down. This comes after Honda discovered an administrative engine certification error in 2023, resulting in a 2024 environmental violation notice and a financial settlement for Disney. While the compliance plan doesn't explicitly force electric vehicles, Disneyland officials have confirmed they are actively developing a fully electric car prototype to keep the 71-year-old ride running. – https://www.micechat.com/437247-disneyland-news-autopia-tinker-bell-construction/ To celebrate the release of Toy Story 5 this summer, Disney California Adventure is introducing rotating drawing lessons for characters like Woody, Buzz, and newcomer Lilypad at the Animation Academy. Additionally, starting in early July, Disneyland Resort hotel guests can exclusively enjoy the “Poolside Splash Bash,” featuring themed dance parties, trivia, and character appearances in new costumes. – http://laughingplace.com/disney-parks/celebrate-toy-story-5-new-lessons-disney-california-adventures-animation-academy/ https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disney-poolside-splash-bash-toy-story-5/ Disney Parks has officially retired FLIK, the wait-time tracking system that helped measure attraction queue times for more than 25 years. Introduced in 1999, FLIK relied on guests carrying red tracking cards through attraction lines, with the final installation recently removed from Goofy's Sky School at Disney California Adventure. Disney now uses newer technologies, including MagicBand data and sensors, to monitor and post attraction wait times more accurately. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/flik-ends-disney-parks/ Construction walls have recently come down around a new two-story Downtown Disney building, signaling that the ground-floor Earl of Sandwich and upstairs Gordon Ramsay restaurant, The Carnaby, are nearing completion. Meanwhile, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters has officially reopened following a refurbishment that updated its exterior with a retro 1967 Tomorrowland color scheme. Although official opening dates for the new dining spots haven't been announced yet, both the restaurants and the refreshed ride represent major visual updates for the resort. – https://www.laughingplace.com/ https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/astro-blasters-new-colors-disneyland/ Guest falls down Tiana's Bayou Adventure – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2026/06/23/disney-guest-falls-down-50-foot-drop-on-tianas-bayou-adventure/ Disney Legend Floyd Norman will receive an Honorary Oscar at the 17th Annual Governors Awards on November 15, 2026. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is presenting him with the lifetime achievement award to honor his barrier-breaking, 65-year career as Disney's first Black animator.
