Matt, Dawn and Mo are back to review the new shows available this week. On ITV, there's a second series of medical thriller Malpractice. It's an odd show to bring back given that it wasn't a big show or overly discussed but it would appear that ITV are hoping this will be a returning series featuring a team who are brought in to investigate medical malpractice. On Prime Video, Amy Sherman Paladino is back for ballet drama Étoile. As a big fan of the Gilmore Girls, Bunheads and The Marvellous Mrs Maisel, how to the trio feel about this new show which sees fictional dance schools in New York and Paris swap dancers. Finally, on Netflix, there's relationship drama The Four Seasons which sees three couple spend four holidays together. Spoiler, its one of the warmest and surprising shows of the year with a great cast which includes Tina Fey, Colman Domingo and Steve Carell.  There's also discussion on Doctor Who, Race Across the World, Andor and Hacks.

Elizabeth and Sarah lace up their ballet flats (figuratively) and dive into Étoile, the new Amazon Prime drama from Amy Sherman-Palladino. They break down how it fits into the world of Palladino shows like Gilmore Girls, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Bunheads (yes, a previously penned ballet show)—does Étoile include the typical fast-talking, quippy characters you want to root for, or does it just trip over its own pointe shoes?#Etoile #AmazonPrime #AmyShermanPalladino #BalletDrama #TVReviewIn the sister chat, things get... weird. They unpack the deeply cringey celebrity all-female space voyage (seriously, who asked for this?), the death of the Pope—and how it somehow connects back to an unexpected run-in with JD Vance—and start gearing up for their upcoming sister trip to Italy. Warning: heavy side tangents ahead.#SpaceCringe #CelebrityChaos #PapalDrama #ItalyPrep #SisterChat

"A Boot And A Shoe" The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Sam Phillips has had quite a career. The Glendale-born musician has almost fifteen albums under her musical belt, including The Indescribable Wow, Cruel Inventions, Martinis and Bikinis, Cold Dark Nights and the newly reissued version of A Boot And A Shoe. We'll get to that in a minute, but before we do, let me give you a partial list of folks she's collaborated with over the years: R.EM., Elvis Costello, T-Bone Burnett, Van Dyke Parks, Marc Ribot, Jim Keltner, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Other career highlights; she's composed scores for Gilmore Girls, Bunheads and the Marvelous Ms. Maisel, she appeared in Die Hard With A Vengeance and Wim Wenders' The End Of Violence (the throat cutting I referenced comes in the former) and her handmade collages on repurposed vintage album sleeves that were found at flea markets.were exhibited at the Gertrude Contemporary in Australia. But back to a Boot and A Shoe. The 2004 album has been given a proper reissue by Omnivore to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Available on CD and on vinyl for the very first time along with new liner notes penned by Phillips, the thirteen track album has never sounded better. Thanks to Phillips' lyrical dexterity and elegant phrasing and featuring numbers like "Reflecting Light," "If I Could Write," "Hole In My Pocket" and "One Day Late," A Boot And A Shoe" remains a timeless classic. www.samphillips.com www.stereoembersmagazine.com (http://www.stereoembersmagazine.com) www.bombshellradio.com (http://www.bombshellradio.com) www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) Stereo Embers The Podcast Twitter (what's left of it): @emberseditor IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com (mailto:editor@stereoembersmagazine.com)

Our discussion on the conclusion to the Firefly series: "Serenity"This week we catch up with the crew of Serenity in their feature film! Fortunately, this little show was blessed with the chance to tie up some loose ends. It ties up some of the, arguably, most interesting ends, however, we do wish they had a bit more time to focus on certain characters. We get cameos from a couple famous actors, and a visitor from Joss's sex bot closet. Shepherd Book still doesn't give us any of his backstory, but does teach us a thing or two about leaves, and Inara has learned some fancy incense tricks. And don't worry, everything's gonna be great.Want more content? Sing up for our Patreon! Firefly Episode 14 "Objects in Space"/Bunheads Episode 14 "The Astronaut and the Ballerina"This week's Firefly introduces a man by the name of Early: a complex, interesting, possibly mad character that we'd love to see more of. Unfortunately this was the last episode... Meanwhile, Bunhead Ginny is driven to madness by some parental drama. AND... coincidentally, (or maybe not? AMY!?) Early and Ginny both process a reveal concerning violence towards dogs!? While Early lurks on the Serenity, Melanie lurks on some roller derby practices. Michelle cosplays as early Season 1 Lorelai, while Kaylee cosplays as ole feet-on-the-lap Rory. Oh! And those other roller derby names were Scary Skate and Crashley.Want more content? Thanks to a ballet class offered at the Boys and Girls Club and a mentor that took special interest in her abilities, Misty was on pointe shoes within three months of starting classes. A true prodigy, she began performing professionally less than a year after that.  Misty's mentor and teacher from the Boys and Girls Club invited her to live in her home so that she could provide the stability Misty needed to focus all of her time and energy on ballet. From there Misty continued to excel in every aspect of the ballet world.  On June 30, 2015, she became the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer in American Ballet Theater's 75-year history. Firefly Episode 2 "The Train Job"/Bunheads Episode 2 "For Fanny"Lots of similarities this week including one very obvious one. We're treated to the same guest star in both episodes, playing two very different characters. There's also a smaller connection, in that Firefly's location of the week has a very similar name to the setting of Bunheads. We've got charcters who are feeling kind of useless, trying to figure out their next move. We've ladies in both episodes casually doing a friend's hair. Oh, and don't forget the implied dismemberment. Plus we had another recent movie-going experience ruined by an old woman!Want more content? Sing up for our Patreon! Bunheads Episode 1 "Pilot"/Firefly Episode 1 "Serenity"We started two new shows that were cancelled too soon, created by the same people as the other shows we used to talk about, and boy do they both loooove to reuse actors. New shows mean new names for Bryan to learn, and you'll be unsurprised to find out he is NOT good at it. The similarities are slim so far, but we're sure Amy's buried some for us to find down the road. Both shows do feature people stuck together trying to figure out their next move, someone revealing a financially motivated choice, and also death!? And we hope you enjoy our NEW special segment!Want more content? Sing up for our Patreon! One more for ya just in time for the holidays, Bunheads! And this is what we would refer to as a "classique" episode of Sailor Moon. Covering episode 17 of the original 90's anime Sailor Moon, "Usagi's a Model: The Flash of the Monster Camera". Devon and Beau get in deep about the DiC dub of it all as well, as this is one of the 12 episodes featured on the original US DiC VHS release of Sailor Moon. Nephrite continues to be incredibly absent, but who cares when the Youma is such a baddie?? If you have any questions or thoughts about upcoming or past episodes you'd like us to address on the pod, sound off on social media!Happy Holidays to all who celebrate, Bunheads!! We love chatting Sailor Moon, and we hope y'all enjoy the conversation (and discourse and tangents ☺️)

They also discuss an oddball Ford Focus commercial that used imagery from this very episode in 2017.This episode was edited by the singular Steven Ray Morris
