The crazy, the outright weird and slightly wonderful situations that happen at weddings over a twelve-year career as a national award-winning wedding photographer. Weddings are full of stories, drama and sometimes scandal. Under their social camouflage, wedding photographers get to experience it all…

I sprung the podcast on Dad. He's ripping into a bag of chorizo sausages and gives zero f's. The biggest regret is not recording my Pop and his advice before he passed away so I want to do these little podcasts with Dad - for me and also so our customers at Threshold Tactical can listen to his hilariously shit advice. He refuses to travel 30min to do it in person so he'll be on speaker phone for a while. Send us your life advice questions for Dad through stuey@thresholdtactical.com. We might start a Reddit page as well. Thanks for tuning in - hope you had a laugh. Cheers cunts, Stuey --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sawsd/message

Date: 2.11.2019 Episode: 8 Title: Episode 8 - Australian Idol Singer Crashes Speeches. Subtitle: Adventures. Final Show Link: https://anchor.fm/COAWP In this episode of [Confessions of a Wedding Photographer], I’m going to talk about one of my favourite wedding stories where an Australian Idol drop out crashes the speeches during the reception to profess his love for the bride. In a wedding in Yallingup, Western Australia a drunk former Australian Idol top 30 drop out crashes the wedding speeches and sings a drunken rendition of “I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. The display was as cringey as it was sad - much to the delight of the groom and the guests. The singer who I won’t name drove from Perth to Yallingup and arrived under the influence - grabbing the microphone after the father of the grooms speech. Loudly professing his love for the bride in a desperate last ditch plea to undo his {Talking Points} How Speeches can go really badly Tips of speech structure and limitations / Limit profanity / Limit talking about previous partners etc. Set the scene for the wedding How we found out it was an Idol contestant. Date: 07.10.2019 Episode: 4 Title: Molly the Bridesmaid and the Esky of Poop Subtitle: Adventures. Final Show Link: https://anchor.fm/COAWP In this episode of [Confessions of a Wedding Photographer], we discuss a group of Bridesmaids who took ecstacy pills inserted them into their behinds and one girl Molly (not her real name) began having chronic runny stomach in a 500 dollar designer bridesmaids dress. It was down south in a forest near Boranup - stunning setting. The design of the dress and lack of toilet paper prevented squatting so we improvised by using an esky I keep water and food in for myself and my assistant and watched in horror as the bridesmaids helped Molly evacuate her bowels and her soul into my esky for around 15min. It was incredible. The guys had been sent away so my assistant and I stood in this forest waiting for her to finish. The maid of honour brought the esky out and handed it to me and said thanks for that. I was like wait is it full of shit and she said yep. I said well what am I supposed to do with it ??? She said no idea and I’m sorry then walked away. So realising we were missing some quality light I gaffa taped the lid to the esky. Doing so, I could hear the melted ice and her breakfast sloshing around inside it. It was enough to make my assistant gag. We continued the shoot and this esky sat in the tray of the Ute overnight and we brought it back to Perth pulled into an industrial area and put it in the bin. Before that I wrote, Hazmat: poop inside on the lid of the esky just in case someone came across it. If you are a new listener to [the Podcast], we would love to hear from you. Confessions of a Wedding Photographer Podcast Show Notes Date: 1.10.2019 Episode: 3 Title: Charlie Sheen and the Toilet of Wonder Final Show Link: https://anchor.fm/COAWP In this episode of [Confessions of a Wedding Photographer], I discuss one of the weirdest interactions I’ve ever had at a wedding reception. The amount of drugs being consumed at weddings is ever increasing from bridal parties shelving pills to groomsmen doing lines in the limo before a ceremony I’ve seen it all. I think there is a time and a place for things – as someone who does not partake in the party lifestyle, I have always seen it as a social crutch. Are weddings not fun enough? Why do drugs at a wedding? Surely to be lucid during such a special day is more important? Thoughts discussed here. Confessions of a Wedding Photographer Podcast Show Notes Date: 30.11.2019 Episode: 2 Title: Saint or Sinner Subtitle: What to make of the Rockabilly Priest Final Show Link: https://anchor.fm/COAWP In this episode of [Confessions of a Wedding Photographer], we discuss the shock death of one of Perth’s most popular priests and the shocking allegations that followed. This episode might be distressing for some listeners and child abuse survivors. Listener discretion is advised. The death of the priest was a shock. We heard about the death first then about the allegations made against him. This podcast won’t mention him by name out of respect for the alleged victim or victims and the people who still believe in his innocence. Having shot over 30 plus weddings that he officiated I thought he was kind, charismatic and gentle. The shocking allegations that followed took me by surprise because I always felt like he was gay. The rockabilly Elvis hair and the same jokes at every wedding followed by the bottle of wine gift made him likeable and pushed aside my distrust of catholic priests. Taking his own life, according to the West Australian newspaper and I quote by “Seppuku” pushing a kitchen knife into his stomach. This left a ton of unanswered questions. Was he guilty of the child sex abuse allegations? The investigation was close by police quickly following his death? What does it mean for his followers? The church? Are there further victims? Should there or is there going to be further investigations. We discuss our own personal thoughts and reflect on how this has affected the clients and the images we took of the priest. Thoughts discussed here. Admission of Guilt? Honour Suicide Death Child Abuse Allegations Affect on clients and weddings. If you are a new listener to [Podcast], we would love to hear from you.
