One Jim's Hazmat franchisee did $750,000 in revenue in his second year while taking three months off. In this episode Joel sits down with Gary, the Jim's Hazmat franchisor, and Jason, the national franchise manager, to break down what is one of the fastest growing and least understood divisions inside Jim's Group. Gary started six years ago working from a corner of his kitchen and now leads 31 franchisees across the country. Jason walks through the three day induction, the 13 services Hazmat franchisees deliver, and what kind of person succeeds in the role. You will hear the real numbers behind the division, including a $42,000 fire job finished in three days and a $90,000 asbestos job done by a franchisee less than a year into the business. Gary explains why most franchisees pay off their buy-in within six months, how the team coordinates work across franchisees instead of competing, and why he set a goal of 1,000 franchisees. //The Wire//2300Z May 21, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: VIKRAM DIGWA TRIAL CONTINUES IN UNITED KINGDOM. PARIS TERRORIST TO BE RELEASED FROM PRISON FOR GOOD BEHAVIOR. HAZMAT SITUATION REPORTED IN NEW MEXICO. ALLEGED "IED" ATTACK REPORTED IN PENNSYLVANIA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-United Kingdom: Societal anger is growing as the details of the murder of Henry Nowak come to light as the trial of Vikram Digwa continues. The court has observed the audio/video recordings of the police response, which confirm that Nowak told the responding officer that he had been stabbed, but the officer denied this even though Nowak was actively bleeding. The evidence also indicated that Digwa's entire extended family arrived on scene to defend the murderer, and that Digwa confessed to stabbing Nowak while speaking to his brother after the truth had come out and he had been detained in the back of a police vehicle.Analyst Comment: Today, one Member of Parliament (Robert Jenrick) commented on the trial, specifically with regards to the two-tier policing system. So far the words of this one MP have been the only statement by the British government acknowledging the case.France: One of the masterminds for the 2015 Paris terror attacks has been granted conditional release from prison. Mohamed Bakkali, one of the logistical coordinators and planners for the attacks was originally sentenced to 25 years in a Belgian prison for his role in the attacks, however he has been granted several 36-hour vacation breaks from prison, which he can use to depart prison grounds during his sentence.Analyst Comment: The coordinated terror attacks conducted throughout Europe on November 13th, 2015 were the most coordinated and deadly attacks in recent memory. These attacks took the form of multiple small arms engagements and bombings throughout Paris, with the most notable attack occurring at the Bataclan Theatre. A total of 130 people were killed at this venue, and 416 others were wounded by small arms and shrapnel. Since the attack at this venue took several hours, many victims were found mutilated, dismembered, and tortured to death. Most of the attackers were killed that night, however the planning coordinators escaped before being detained later on. Bakkali was one of these individuals, and Belgian authorities are seeking to permanently release him from prison, purely because he seems nice.-HomeFront-New Mexico: Last night a HAZMAT situation was reported in the town of Mountainair following the discovery of a possible narcotics lab. Local authorities responded to a residence on Hanlon Avenue, where they discovered four unresponsive individuals, three of which later died of overdose at a hospital. During the response to the residence, a total of 18x first responders were exposed to an unidentified Toxic Industrial Compound (TIC) inside the structure, which required hospitalization. All have been discharged from the hospital except for 3x responders, who require further medical treatment.Analyst Comment: The substance has not yet been identified and samples are under investigation to determine what it was. This residence was possibly serving as a meth lab or fentanyl production facility, so there's no telling what kind of chemicals were being used inside.Pennsylvania: Yesterday two men were arrested in conjunction with a suspected IED attack which was conducted in Catasauqua two days ago. On Tuesday, an incident was reported at the Salem United Church of Christ on 3rd Street, which was serving as a polling place for Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District at the time of the incident. Matthew and Jack Pletz were arrested after surveillance footage from the Church identified the suspects throwing an explosive device out of the window of their truck, before driving back to their residence adjacent to the polling place, at the corner of 3rd and Pine Street.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Media is reporting the Pennsylvania incident to be a full-blown IED attack, but this may have been a situation of a couple of idiots throwing fireworks and engaging in public tomfoolery. Reading between the lines of the media reporting, it sounds like two brothers threw an M-80 firework at the church, before arriving at their own residence half a block away. Once the police arrived, they got a warrant to search the truck and found a box of illegal fireworks (some of which appeared to be homemade) and at least one item that authorities are classifying as a destructive device. This device is specifically described as being encased in plastic, which is an odd detail to focus on if these were high-grade devices. The detail of the suspects literally conducting an IED attack at their own residence would be rather dumb if the suspects intended to cause mass death and destruction. These idiots probably saw people lining up at the polling place, and wanted to engage in a bit of public nuisance as they were arriving home that day. It's still an illegal act, but not exactly the complex IED attack it was made out to be based on the information that has been made public.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

In 1994, Gloria Ramirez, a 31-year-old mother of two dying from cancer, arrived at a Riverside ER with strange odors, an oily sheen on her skin, and crystalline particles in her blood — then doctors and nurses around her began collapsing, vomiting, burning, and struggling to breathe. The ER was evacuated and HAZMAT suits came out. Gloria died in the chaos, and the official explanation still leaves troubling questions. Firefighter Jake Ryks joins the Just a Little Salt podcast to dismantle the "hero" archetype often taught in fire science programs. He reflects on his early career, admitting he's actually less confident now than as a rookie because he finally understands the sheer depth of the profession. The conversation shifts to the unique culture of the fire service, specifically the "sacred" firehouse table where rankings vanish and conflicts are settled in-house rather than through a formal chain of command. Jake also dives into the misunderstood world of Hazmat, demystifying it as a discipline of basic chemistry rather than a horror movie. From sampling jars of menstrual blood at government protests to discussing the "Hazmat Guys" podcast network, this episode offers a grounded look at the reality of special operations and the importance of sharing knowledge to elevate the entire crew. Welcome back to another exciting episode of The Bourbon Road! This week, hosts Jim Shannon and Todd Ritter are broadcasting from the Corner Rickhouse at the Frankfort Bourbon Society. They are joined by a very special recurring guest and friend of the show, Drew Hannish. Drew is the creator of Whiskey Lore, a seasoned whiskey historian, and the author of the new travel guide Experiencing American Whiskey. Drew drops in while traveling to the James B. Beam Institute Industry Conference to share his elite palate and incredible whiskey knowledge with the guys. The theme of the day is cross-country craft whiskey, thanks to the incredible team at Lost Lantern. Founders Adam Polonski and Nora Ganley-Roper have sent over their highly anticipated 2026 Spring Collection. Known for sourcing exceptional casks from under-the-radar craft distilleries across the United States, Lost Lantern has curated a lineup that pits high-proof monsters against nuanced, lower-proof gems. It wouldn't be a true Bourbon Road episode without an epic tasting mat. The guys travel across the map, hitting four different states and a special seven-state blend, experiencing some of the highest proofs ever poured on the show! On the Tasting Mat: Montgomery Distillery Montana Straight Bourbon: Distilled in Missoula, Montana, this 4-year-old single barrel clocks in at 104.6 proof. With a wheated mash bill of 70% corn, 20% wheat, and 10% malted barley, it offers a bright, dry, and mineral-forward profile. The guys pull out intriguing notes of stone fruit, green banana, and a lingering underlying sweetness shaped by the cold Montana climate. Broad Branch Distillery North Carolina Straight Rye: Heading to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this 8-year-old release marks Lost Lantern's first "hazmat" rye, coming in at a scorching 141.6 proof. Made from 100% prairie rye and aged in a Char 4 barrel, it drinks surprisingly smooth for its octane. The hosts rave about its dessert-like nose, finding notes of dark chocolate, mint, and burnt orange that perfectly mimic eating Thin Mints and Samoas Girl Scout cookies. Dread River Distilling Company Alabama Straight Bourbon: Distilled in Birmingham, Alabama, this 6-year-old wheated bourbon (60% white corn, 30% winter wheat, 10% malted barley) sits at another hazmat level of 141.8 proof. Named after a mythic underground river, this dark, rich pour delivers a "warm river of flavor." The crew finds deep, syrupy notes of dark cherry, molasses, cola, and a smoky baking spice that coats the palate. Days to File Idaho Straight Bourbon: An incredibly rare 10-year-old bourbon sourced from a now-closed distillery in Shelley, Idaho. Boasting a massive 154.4 proof, it utilizes a unique mash bill of 76% corn, 11% triticale, and 13% malted barley. It is an unapologetic, intensely hot pour that challenges the palate with aggressive heat and concentrated oak. Lost Lantern Far-Flung Bourbon 4: To showcase the magic of blending, Adam Polonski combined straight bourbons from seven distilleries across seven states (MD, SC, MS, AZ, TX, IL, WI). Bottled at 120.7 proof, it is a beautifully balanced masterpiece. The guys pick out complex layers of licorice, lemon zest, leather, chocolate, and cherry cola. To wrap up the show, Todd attempts his own "Blendageddon" by mixing the first few high-proof pours together in his glass. Does his makeshift blend rival the masterful touch of the Lost Lantern team, or does it become a disjointed hot mess? Tune in to hear the final verdict, listen to the guys rank their favorites, and join the conversation as they explore the wild frontier of American craft whiskey!
Three years after East Palestine, and just weeks after a major chlorine leak at a Washington Court House water plant required a multi-county response, a haunting question remains: Is Ohio actually prepared for the next big one? On today's episode of the America's Work Force Union Podcast, we sit down with Jon Harvey, President of the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters (OAPFF). While new state grants were recently announced, Harvey warns that a "check-the-box" approach to safety isn't enough. From the dangerous training gaps in rural counties to the need for a unified command structure that actually works in real-time, this is a raw look at the life-or-death stakes of hazardous materials response. In this episode, we discuss: The Rural/Urban Divide: Why today's new legislative push for statewide ambulance coverage is only the first step in fixing a broken system. The "Pause" That Saves Lives: Why hazmat scenes require a different mindset than standard fire calls—and why "rushing in" can be a fatal mistake. Legislative Inertia: Why critical safety bills like the Michael Louis Palumbo Jr. Act take years to pass while risks grow every day. Recruitment Crisis: How the physical and emotional toll of the job is changing the face of the fire service in 2026. Don't miss this critical update on the safety of our communities and the men and women who protect them.
Garrison Brothers returns with the 2025 Cowboy Bourbon, a hazmat-level 146.4 proof Texas release hand-selected by master distiller Donnis Todd. With bold vanilla cola, cream soda sweetness, peppery Texas spice, and deep barrel intensity, this high-proof bourbon delivers big flavor without overwhelming heat. We break down whether this limited annual release is truly worth the hype and the $250 price tag.DISCLAIMER: The whiskey in this review was provided to us at no cost courtesy of the spirit producer. Los Angeles is facing a new crisis as a homeless encampment located within a storm drain in South Los Angeles has been declared a hazardous materials zone. The situation, initially reported by Matthew Seedorff, highlights the escalating challenges of homelessness in the city and the strain on its infrastructure. Sanitation crews are now tasked with cleaning up human waste and debris from the drain near 88th and Grand, an area deemed a 'hot zone.' This incident underscores broader issues, including unauthorized utility connections and criminal activities, raising serious concerns about public health and safety. The city claims to be offering resources to those affected, but the situation reveals a deeper failure in Los Angeles' approach to addressing homelessness. Is this really a solution?

️ “Wait… where did the liquid go?” That was my reaction about three seconds into a demonstration at a HazMat conference in Edmond, Oklahoma. This was my conversation with John Brinkman, President of Imbibitive Technologies. On the table in front of us was a container with some small white particles in it. They looked like salt or sugar grains. Nothing special. John picked up a bottle of paint thinner and poured it into the container. I expected the liquid to pool at the bottom. Instead…the liquid disappeared. Not evaporated. Not wiped up. The free liquid phase was gone in seconds. John smiled and said: “Once the liquid embibes into the polymer, the liquid phase is eliminated.” Here's what actually happened Those tiny particles were IMBIBER BEADS®. They're oil-sensitive superabsorbent polymers. Most people know superabsorbent polymers from disposable diapers, which absorb water. These beads do the opposite. They are engineered to absorb organic liquids like: • crude oil • gasoline • diesel • solvents …and they ignore water completely. The chemistry is wild Each bead is a solid polymer sphere roughly 150–400 microns in size (about a grain of salt). When hydrocarbons contact the bead: • the liquid diffuses into the polymer matrix • the bead swells several times its original size • the hydrocarbon becomes locked inside the polymer The result: No free liquid phase. Why that matters.. Most spill cleanup materials today are adsorbents — think polypropylene pads. They coat liquids on the surface. Meaning the hydrocarbon can still: • drip • spread • release vapors IMBIBER BEADS® eliminate the liquid phase, which can: • reduce secondary contamination • lower hazardous vapor off-gassing • simplify containment and recovery The craziest part? This chemistry was invented in 1968 by polymer chemist Dr. Richard Hall. More than 50 years ago. Today the technology is being applied to: • oil spill response • refinery containment • stormwater filtration • hazmat cleanup • oil-water separators Even more interesting… Hydrocarbons captured in the beads can be used in energy-from-waste systems producing 15,000+ BTUs per pound. Cleanup material → recoverable energy. This is why I love stepping outside the oil & gas silo. When chemists, engineers, hazmat responders, and energy operators collaborate…you discover technologies that change how problems get solved. Sometimes the most disruptive technology in the room…is a polymer bead smaller than a grain of salt. If you work in: • oil & gas • refining • pipeline response • hazmat • environmental remediation What applications could you see for something like this? Curious to hear your thoughts. www.imbiberbeads.com #Energy #OilAndGas #HazMat #EnvironmentalTech #SpillResponse #Engineering #PolymerScience #IndustrialSafety

This week on Whiskey@Work, we climb way past safe territory and straight into hazmat country.Rob and Mark post up at the Windsor Bar with Justin Henrichsen and crack bottles that most airlines would politely confiscate. In this urgent message, Dr. Edith Davis explores the spiritual mechanics of unity and the necessity of mental renewal. She breaks down the specific weapons the enemy uses to derail the Body of Christ—primarily fear and condemnation—and provides a roadmap for moving from a "baby Christian" to a spiritually skilled "hazmat" believer capable of handling the trials of 2026. -- God has provided a "sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7) which is disciplined, calm, and essential for church unity. -- We must move past forgiving others to the harder task of forgiving ourselves, recognizing that God forgets our repented sins. -- Spiritual maturity is categorized into three levels: the Fireman (putting out fires), Hazmat (dealing with toxic people), and the Bomb Squad (discerning and defusing spiritual crises). -- A "headless church" is one where Jesus is no longer the leader and the full counsel of God is ignored for "sugar-coated" doctrine. -- Kingdom principles like preemptive forgiveness and sowing/reaping are the only ways to survive the falling "Babylon" systems of the world. TRUMP Macron's Authorities Raid Elon Musk's X French Offices in Paris Under the direction of France's globalist President Macron, French authorities escalated their confrontation with American tech entrepreneur Elon Musk this week, launching high-profile raids of X's offices in Paris and summoning Musk himself for what prosecutors termed a “voluntary interview.” The move marks a dramatic intensification of France's long-running effort to rein in the America-based free-speech platform. According to the Paris public prosecutor's office, the operation was carried out by French cybercrime units with assistance from Europol, targeting the French premises of X. Authorities claim the investigation centers on whether X's algorithm improperly influenced French political discourse. Summonses were issued to Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino, calling them to Paris in April 2026 to answer questions related to the probe. Yaccarino, who stepped down last year, is listed alongside Musk as a manager during the period under review. French prosecutors later broadened their inquiry, citing concerns related to X's AI chatbot Grok, including claims it produced offensive or false content. Musk's company responded by correcting errors, removing disputed posts, and publicly documenting its moderation actions—steps critics say would have been praised had they come from a European firm. Facing ‘Imminent Financial Collapse' Admits Secretary General as Countries Won't Cough Up Membership Fees The United Nations is facing an “imminent financial collapse” as member states refuse to cough up billions of dollars in mandatory contributions. The financial woes were laid out in an emergency letter from Secretary-General António Guterres sent to all 193 member countries. Guterres said the organisation's financial crisis is worsening rapidly, threatening the delivery of core programmes and potentially leaving the U.N. bankrupt by July. He urged member states to either pay what they owe in full or agree to sweeping changes to the UN's financial rules to avoid collapse. “Either all member states honour their obligations to pay in full and on time—or member states must fundamentally overhaul our financial rules to prevent an imminent financial collapse,” he wrote. The warning comes as the United States, the U.N.'s largest contributor, has refused to fund the organisation's regular and peacekeeping budgets and has withdrawn from multiple UN agencies. The Trump administration has repeatedly criticised the U.N. for wasting taxpayer dollars, appeasing criminal regimes and infringing on the sovereignty of the U.S. and other member nations. Several other member states are also in arrears or have declined to pay their assessed contributions. Refrigerators containing unknown liquids and vials of suspected biological material were found inside the residence, prompting an aggressive response from HazMat teams, SWAT units, and FBI specialists due to the potential threat presented by the materials, The Hill reported. At least one individual was taken into custody in connection with the Las Vegas raid, identified by local officials as a 55-year-old property manager, Ori Solomon. He is currently booked on felony charges linked to the improper disposal of hazardous waste, though investigators continue to determine the full scope of charges that may arise. Property records reveal that the Las Vegas home is owned by “David Destiny Discovery, LLC,” according to The Sun. If that name sounds familiar, it should. It is a shell company registered to Jia Bei Zhu (also known as David He), the very same Chinese national who ran the illegal Reedley, California biolab exposed in 2023. Zhu, a fugitive from Canada with deep ties to the Chinese government, is currently in federal custody. The FBI has taken the lead in analyzing the more than 1,000 samples collected from the scene, with evidence transported to federal laboratories for further testing. https://twitter.com/RepKiley/status/2018514131876213199?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2018514131876213199%7Ctwgr%5E1616a599ecdcff26961307ece268007bf47acbbc%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegatewaypundit.com%2F2026%2F02%2Ffbi-raids-illegal-biolab-inside-private-home-las%2F Source: thegatewaypundit.com https://twitter.com/WarClandestine/status/2018714265247453494?s=20 https://twitter.com/liz_churchill10/status/2018321118000476222?s=20 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/2017614901028786500?s=20 [DS] Agenda BREAKING: Jill Biden's Ex-Husband Arrested and Charged with Murder of His Wife Jill Biden's ex-husband Bill Stevenson was charged with first-degree murder of his wife, Linda Stevenson. This would effectively keep the government open while allowing Republican senators to break through the “zombie” filibuster and put the SAVE America Act up for a vote on the Senate floor. The standing filibuster is not common parliamentary procedure, but it is one of the only mechanisms available to go around senators who want to block voter ID. @LeaderJohnThune we are very pleased that you are discussing the standing filibuster, and we believe you will go down in history if this is pulled off as one of the best leaders the Senate has ever had. In one year we have seen more productive conservative change in the federal government than with every other GOP president since Reagan combined. Trump has significantly degraded the Deep State in a way most of us could only dream of ten years ago. Moreover, Trump's economic policies are bearing fruit right now and we will likely see a very strong economy by the midterms. But… Ah yes, the midterms. I know so many of you will only be happy when Bill Clinton, Hillary, Obama and Joe Biden are in jail, but you need to join the world of reality. Right now Trump and his team are gauging everything they do through the lens of “How will this effect the midterms?” They have sophisticated polling that you and I will never see, and at the moment every Trump action is tempered by “Let's be aggressive but not in such a way it turns public opinion against us before the midterms.” Trump knows that if he loses the midterms, all is lost. The Dems will constantly impeach him and most of his cabinet, and even if the Senate never convicts, the acts of impeachment will grind the Trump machine to a halt. The midterms are everything. So I'm warning you, from now until November you are going to see a less aggressive Trump If you are a Doomster for whom nothing is ever enough, you need to understand why that is. But here is the good news. I believe that one day after the midterms Trump will once again go shock and awe for a year, and then back off again in 2028 to get JD or Rubio elected. (For example, I can easily see Trump taking zero drastic action in the near term to further inflame the Minnesota situation, but invoking the Insurrection Act the day after the midterms and sending in the 82nd.) Since the Super Bowl is coming up, consider it this way: In the first quarter, Trump ran up the score. In the second quarter, he went prevent defense to hold onto the lead. After halftime, once again in the third quarter he will run up the score, and then hold the lead in the fourth quarter to win the game. This is not Qtard “trust the plan” nonsense. This is simply good political strategy. Everyone needs to realize two things: (1) the Constitution includes checks and balances that inherently weaken the absolute power of each branch and (2) even though they are in the minority, Democrats still have a HUGE say. Our system is DESIGNED THIS WAY. We have to account for the opposition—you cannot ignore them. With that in mind, I have every confidence that Trump and his team will navigate through a treacherous course and come out on the winning side. I’m hoping this post makes the things you see in the months ahead more comprehensible. Have a nice day. https://twitter.com/nicksortor/status/2018742785017336107?s=20 the SAVE Act is not included in the government funding bill that advanced via the 217-215 House procedural vote on February 3, 2026. That legislation is a $1.2 trillion spending package funding most federal agencies through September 30, 2026, while extending funding for the Department of Homeland Security only through February 13, 2026, to allow for further negotiations on immigration enforcement. Efforts by some conservative Republicans to attach the SAVE Act—a separate bill requiring proof of U.S. citizenship for federal voter registration—were rejected during the process, following calls from President Trump to pass the package without changes. Host Malcolm Harris kicks off a high-impact 2026 episode covering the freight, logistics, and supply chain issues everyone in the industry is feeling right now. Malcolm opens the show with the latest freight headlines — including Amazon last-mile closures, AI-driven DOT enforcement, major broker and carrier developments, and legal decisions that could reshape liability across the industry. Then, the show dives into two must-hear expert conversations: Mark Becker, President, CEO, and Co-Founder of G10 Fulfillment, joins the show to break down the rapidly growing hazardous goods market. As one of the few Amazon-approved hazmat shippers in the U.S., Mark explains how lithium-ion batteries are transforming e-commerce, where brands often miss on compliance, how regulations are reshaping warehouse operations, and why cutting corners in hazmat shipping creates serious safety risks. Danny Ramon, Director of Intelligence at Overhaul, returns to WHAT THE TRUCK?!? to unpack what's really driving cargo theft in 2026. Danny covers strategic theft, fictitious pickups, physical security gaps, insider risk myths, and how overreliance on technology can create a false sense of security — plus what carriers, brokers, and shippers should audit right now to reduce exposure. This episode covers: Hazmat compliance and lithium battery growth Amazon and carrier enforcement pressure Cargo theft trends and fraud tactics Supply chain security fundamentals vs. tech What logistics leaders need to fix now If you work in freight, logistics, or supply chain security, this episode of WHAT THE TRUCK?!? is a must-watch. In this episode, Wendy Buckley of STARS HazMat Consulting breaks down the realities of hazmat freight compliance and risk management! We talk about why most companies don't realize their insurance excludes key hazmat activities like storage or transport and how that mistake alone can shut you down, how hands-on, customized training and concise SOPs are what actually protect your team, the essential role of regular internal and third-party audits, and how proper commodity identification can prevent dangerous storage scenarios (like lithium batteries stacked next to paper rolls). If you're moving or brokering hazmat freight, investing in expert guidance, tailored training, and updated insurance coverage isn't optional—it's how you keep your business alive and compliant in a zero-tolerance industry! About Wendy Buckley With 28 years of hands-on experience in hazardous materials transportation, compliance, and safety, Wendy helps companies navigate the complexities of hazmat regulations while ensuring their operations remain efficient, safe, and profitable. When Your Child Downloads Feelings and Your Pet Alien Downloads You This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are talking Alien: Earth. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Alien: Earth:12:30 Alien: Earth (FX/Hulu) Out of 10 When Your Child Downloads Feelings, and Your Pet Alien Downloads You Darryl: 6.8/10 Brian: 7.34/10 Episode 1 – “Neverland” Summary: In 2120, five companies control Earth and the colonized Solar System, including the recently founded Prodigy Corporation. The USCSS Maginot, a Weyland-Yutani C-class deep space research vessel, approaches Earth after a 65-year expedition to obtain extra-terrestrial specimens, among them facehuggers. On Earth, at Prodigy’s Neverland research island, a terminally ill child named Marcy Hermit becomes the first hybrid, having her consciousness transferred to an adult synthetic, and renames herself Wendy. Adjusting to her new body with the assistance of synthetic mentor Kirsh, Wendy oversees several other children who undergo the procedure. A malfunction compromises the Maginot’s navigation, placing it on a collision course with Earth. Some specimens get loose, and a grown Xenomorph kills most of the crew. It crashes into a tower in Prodigy City, New Siam, where Wendy’s human brother Joe Hermit works as a medic and corporate soldier. CEO Boy Kavalier asserts that Maginot’s contents now belong to Prodigy, and deploys Kirsh, Wendy, and the other hybrids to assist with search and rescue to test their enhanced capabilities. Security officer Morrow, who survived the crash in a reinforced panic room, moves to protect the cargo and detains two Prodigy soldiers, who are killed by a leech-like specimen. Wendy remarks to Kirsh that she wants to save her brother from death. Writer & Director: Crafted and helmed by series creator Noah Hawley. Cast: Sydney Chandler as Wendy, the first hybrid (a person who has their human consciousness transferred into a synthetic body) and Joe’s sister, formerly known as Marcy Florence Bensberg as Marcy, a terminally ill 11-year-old, and Wendy’s original human form Alex Lawther as Private Joseph D. Hermit, a medic for the Prodigy Corporation Security Service, and Wendy’s brother Essie Davis as Dame Sylvia, an employee of the Prodigy Corporation and Arthur’s wife Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, the CEO of the Prodigy Corporation and the world’s youngest trillionaire Babou Ceesay as Morrow, the USCSS Maginot’s cyborg (human with some synthetic parts) security officer Adarsh Gourav as Slightly, a hybrid Rishi Kuppa as Aarush, a terminally ill 12-year-old from Mumbai, and Slightly’s original human form Erana James as Curly, a hybrid Lily Newmark as Nibs, a hybrid Jonathan Ajayi as Smee, a hybrid David Rysdahl as Arthur Sylvia, a scientist and Dame Sylvia’s husband Diêm Camille as Siberian, a Prodigy Corporation Security Service soldier Moe Bar-El as Rashidi, a Prodigy Corporation Security Service soldier Adrian Edmondson as Atom Eins, a senior employee of the Prodigy Corporation Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, the Prodigy Corporation’s synthetic chief scientist, who serves as Wendy’s mentor and trainer Air Date: August 12, 2025—simultaneously on FX and FX on Hulu. Rating & Viewership: Nielsen: Approx. 0.589 million U.S. households; 0.11 share among 18–49 demographic. Critical reception: overwhelmingly positive—IGN praised its franchise integration, Vulture gave a perfect 5/5 stars, Collider rated it 9/10, TV Fanatic also 5/5. Episode 2 – “Mr. October” Summary: Boy tells his colleague, Dame Sylvia, that he formed the Hybrid project to compete with artificial intelligence, and has granted Wendy additional abilities as he wishes to create a person smarter than him. He declines Weyland-Yutani’s request to secure Maginot’s proprietary contents, warning any incursion on his territory will be considered a hostile act. Joe is chased by a Xenomorph and separated from his colleagues. It tracks him to the higher floors of the tower, killing another soldier and massacring an apartment of wealthy residents who refused to evacuate. He is saved by Morrow, who tasers him and the Xenomorph, but it regains consciousness and escapes after killing numerous other soldiers, sparing Morrow. Arriving in Prodigy City, Hybrids Tootles, Smee, Nibs, and Curly encounter two other dangerous extraterrestrial specimens. Wendy locates her brother with Slightly, a fellow Hybrid, but Joe does not recognize her. Slightly reveals her true identity to a shocked Joe, who believed Wendy/Marcy had died. The three encounter several Xenomorph eggs and are ordered by Kirsh to contain them until a HazMat team arrives. Joe is dragged away by the Xenomorph, and Wendy chases after. Writer & Director: Written by Noah Hawley and directed by EP Dana Gonzales. Before diving in, the guys chat about bottles, movies, and the never-ending Pixel vs. iPhone debate. On Whiskey World News, Bryan shares an email about A. Smith Bowman's newest Abraham Bowman release, this time finished with Hungarian Oak. And on What Whiskey Would You Choose?, Bryan asks: Which distillery do you choose — Four Roses or Heaven Hill? Two powerhouse pours, tech talk, a fresh Bowman drop, and a tough distillery showdown — this one's packed.
