Sie alle wollen patriarchale Strukturen und die Macht der Männer über die Frauen zurück. Es geht hin bis zu Gewaltfantasien und Angriffen auf Feministinnen. Online werden schon Kinder und Teenies mit toxischer Männlichkeit konfrontiert. Wie sollen wir damit umgehen? Und wie viel Verantwortung tragen die Mütter, dass ihre Jungs keine Machos und Frauenhasser werden? Es un movimiento global, transversal a todos los estratos sociales y -sobre todo- profundamente violento y profundamente misógino. Hablamos con la escritora Laura Bates que se adentró con identidad falsa en los foros y chats de Internet en los que los miembros de estos grupos expresan su odio a las mujeres y, lo más peligroso, planifican su venganza contra ellas. Laura cuenta todo lo que vio en el libro "Los hombres que odian a las mujeres" (de la editorial Capitan Swing)Además, repasamos la figura de uno de los iconos de este movimiento. An incel, short for "involuntary celibate," is an individual, usually male, who identifies as unable to form romantic or sexual relationships with others despite a strong desire to do so. Incels often believe that their lack of success in forming relationships is due to physical appearance or other factors that are beyond their control.They may also harbor feelings of resentment or anger towards those who are successful in forming romantic relationships.Many incels congregate online in forums and social media groups where they share their experiences and beliefs with each other. Unfortunately, some of these online communities promote extreme and often harmful ideologies, including misogyny, racism, and violence. Have you heard about the social media fueled appearance trend known as  “looksmaxxing”? That's spelled l-o-o-k-s-m-a-x-x-i-n-g. The term originated in online communities centered around what's known as the involuntary celibate, or “incil” for short, cohort of young males. Incels would like to be in romantic and sexual relationships, but they blame women for their celibate status, primarily caused by the fact that women don't find them attractive. So they engage in looksmaxxing, which is the process of maximizing their own physical attractiveness. Softmaxxing efforts include hair care, skin care, diet, and exercise. Hardmaxxing involves more radical interventions like plastic surgery. Parents, appearance pressure is real. Help your kids understand that nobody can meet these narrow and unrealistic standards, and that they must rest their identity in who they are as adopted sons and daughters of God. God is a God who looks on the heart, not on the outward appearance.

This self-described inability to form attachments is often expressed as grievance toward women. Incel subculture has been associated with misogyny, extremism, rape culture, and expressions and acts of violence. Incels are a subset of the “manosphere,” which includes other online communities animated by sexism and hostility toward women, such as pickup artists, Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW), and men's rights activists. The Southern Poverty Law Center classifies incels as a hate group and identifies them as part of the online male supremacist ecosystem. The term incel was initially coined by a woman. Known only by her first name, a Canadian woman named Alana began using the term invcel (later shortened to incel) in 1997 to connect with other singles struggling with social awkwardness. She documented her experiences on her personal website, “Alana's Involuntary Celibacy Project,” which became a forum for people struggling to form romantic relationships. In 2000 Alana stopped participating in the project, and she has since said that she feels uncomfortable with how the term has been hijacked. As incel communities began to establish themselves on the forum-based websites Reddit and 4chan, the term shifted from its initial meaning. By 2010 incel was associated with misogynistic trolling and threats of violence by men's rights groups operating on fringe right-wing platforms. In 2017 Reddit banned a particularly active subreddit called r/incels for violating Reddit's rule against content that “encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence or physical harm against an individual or group of people.” source Me Too movement (p. 7 in the transcript, 26:22)Me Too movement is an awareness movement around the issue of sexual harassment and sexual abuse of women in the workplace that grew to prominence in 2017 in response to news reports of sexual abuse by American film producer Harvey Weinstein. While the phrase had been in the lexicon for more than a decade, a tweet by American actress Alyssa Milano sparked a social media phenomenon that raised awareness, gave voice to survivors, and led to sweeping cultural and workplace changes. The movement is credited with giving visibility to the scope of sexual violence within the United States and across the world. It is also defined by a push for accountability, including examining power structures in the workplace that had enabled misconduct, and, in some cases, renewed efforts to seek justice for survivors through criminal and civil court systems. In the first year of the movement, numerous prominent men lost their jobs after they were publicly accused of wrongdoing. Since then, the Me Too movement's legacy has broadened to encompass issues related to gender equity in the workplace and legal reforms to eliminate barriers that had prohibited victims from coming forward. Some U.S. states have since abolished statutes of limitations for reporting sexual crimes and banned nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) that aimed to keep misconduct allegations from the public's view. There's no other way to describe it.  Families are devastated, and will forever be changed. So, naturally, the media is trying to cash in any way they can. Clickbait headlines are generally awful, but when they're used to take advantage of something this horrific, it makes people want to believe in hell, that the “reporters” might burn their for their sins. Gibson Johns—if that's a real person an not a handle given to an article written by AI—and E! News (which should be in quote, “News”) cashed in my offering a scary headline about a chilling photo by one of the victims of the crash, a teenage boy who will be missed by his parents for the rest of their lives.  It's disgusting, and Jake has special words regarding the “reporters” who seek out families after a tragedy. —Speaking of cashing in on a tragedy, Donald Trump once again showed his complete inability to lead with grace, or compassion, turning an awful situation into an opportunity to rally his political base using anger, an ignorance. Blaming the crash on DEI right out of the gate was a bold move, but red meat the dumbest of the dumb could lap up like the dogs they are. In an interesting twist, however, he threw “dwarfism” into the mix as one of the reasons the plane crash happened.  Interesting. —A couple episodes back, Jake said Harvey got out of jail.  nathan was dumbfounded, “How did I miss that?!?” Turns out, nathan missed nothing! Harvey is still locked up in Rikers Island, just like he deserves to be. —Oh, China… You best America in so many ways—bullet trains, airports, education… and now, INCELS. Yes, while our INCELS go on rampages, and hurt people, yours go look at panda bears. Dammit, China. Stop being better than us. —Dank Demoss is rapper who hates several things: salads, walking, and reality. Dank weighs 489 pounds, and thinks that if she orders a Lyft, she should be able to get into whatever arrives, be it a Honda Civic, or a Mini Cooper.  When her ride arrived, the driver took one look at her and said, “Nope. My shocks and tires can't take that kind of abuse,” and locked her out. Naturally, this caused Dank to have a “come to Jesus” moment, where she turned her life around, began eating right, and exercising. Of COURSE I'm kidding. She's suing Lyft, because personal responsibility doesn't exist. —Is an exodus taking place from states with impossibly restrictive bans on women's health? The Los Angeles times thinks so. Why? Because speculation, that's why. In an article heavy on thoughts and light on facts, it is opined that a less than 1% population departure from states more interested in fairy tales than medicine, means it's got to be because of a political wedge issue. Great job, Los Angeles Times. Way to waste column space.  —Well, things are gonna get interesting.  Despite anyone and everyone with an IQ above that of your average turnip understanding that tariffs make things more expensive for the consumers of the country applying said tariffs, Donald Trump announced 25% additions to Mexican and Canadian goods, and 10% on Chinese imports. What was the immediate reaction? Trillion-dollar hedge funds started taking out massive shorts on the American Economy. In 2008, a few wise men beat the crap out of the banks and made hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars off their stupidity. Now, the American people will lose, and rich look to get richer. Yay.
