Why Are You Cast Down, O My Soul?Psalms 42:1-11 There are several reasons why people fall into depression. Some have lost loved ones that are no longer with. Some have lost their health, no longer can they do what they used to do, some have lost their wealth,, and no longer can buy the things that they would like. But if you have been saved, you have not lost the Lord, even though you're feeling down. Look up, let God lift you up by his wonderful love.

Christmas according to MatthewMatthew 1:16-25My prayer is that you would not be so dogmatic about the day,And be right in your mind, but wrong in your heart.Let your heart be filled with joy that God sent his only begotten son, the savior of the world. Can you say hallelujah? Praise be to God for the wonderful birth of Jesus Christ.

O Lord, Be Gracious to MePsalms 41:1-13God almighty looks down from heaven and sees how we treat other people. If we look at the poor and look down upon them, or we look at the sinner and say there's no help for them, we lift up ourselves above them, and God sees it. But if we humble ourselves and be like Jesus, and help the brokenhearted, heal the sick, and yes, raise the dead by giving them the gospel. Then God will look down upon us and will surely bless us.

My Help and My DelivererPsalms 40:1-17God is able to turn things around. David was in a horrible pit, but God reached down and pulled him out and put him upon a solid rock. Sometimes we get stuck in the mud. We can't pull ourselves out. We need help, I believe, if we cry unto God. When we're stuck in the mud, he will pull us out and put our feet upon his rock, which is Jesus Christ.

What Is the Measure of My Days?Psalms 39:1-13When to speak, when not to speak? Jesus taught, “Cast not your pearls before swine.” I believe he was saying, “Hold your words. They will just trample them under their feet, but there is a time when the Holy Ghost grants power to speak boldly to proclaim the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lord, please grant us discernment today that we may be a blessing to others and what we say and what we don't say.”

Do Not Forsake Me, O LordPsalms 38:1-15If you or I were to stand at the bed of this man, how could your heart not be moved with compassion? It seems that his whole world fell out beneath him, but praise God he reached out his hand unto God. God heard him and gave him hope that he would be delivered from all his troubles. Hallelujah! Will you reach out your hand to touch the hand of God today?

How Precious Is Your Steadfast LovePsalms 36:1-12“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings”The unrighteous never see the lovingkindness of God, but those that love his righteousness that come to him by faith and repentance we see God‘s lovingkindness. We know God‘s lovingkindness, and we feel God‘s lovingkindness.

Great Is the LordPsalms 35:11-16This passage reminds me of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He came as the lamb of God. He dwelled among religious leaders of the day that mocked him, but he prayed for them and said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” I think that we should follow his example.

Taste and See That the Lord Is GoodPsalms 34:1-10I'm reminded of the story of Joseph, how he was sold by his brethren, how he was betrayed by Potipherah's wife, cast into prison, but God was with him, and God bless him. Stay steadfast. After God, you will see his mighty hand upon you.

The Steadfast Love of the LordPsalms 33:1-9The heathen, when they look around, see only sin, death, and destruction, and they blame it all on God. They say, “If God was a loving God, why would this be happening?” But when the righteous look around, they see the goodness of Jehovah. We wake up in the morning and see the sun and the goodness of God. We listen to the birds. We look at the beautiful children that God has given us. How do you view what is around you and who is around you? It will determine a lot about you.

Blessed Are the ForgivenPsalms 32:1-11It's a wonderful thing to be forgiving of all your sins, and through the blood of Jesus Christ and faith in his blood, we have been forgiven. Oh, give thanks to the Lord. Let us love the Lord. Let us praise his wonderful name.

Into Your Hand I Commit My SpiritPsalms 31:1-10If you would take an inventory of David's troubles, they would be many: enemies on every side, troubles within his soul, but he always found a way to God. When you look at all his troubles, your heart will be sad, but when you look at how great his God is, your heart will rejoice. Let us follow his example.

The Lord Is My Strength and My ShieldPsalms 28:1-9The LORD is my strength and my shield. Let's think about this today: if you had a shield but had no strength to lift the shield, or if you had strength but had no shield. Can you see they go together? We are in a spiritual warfare. We fight not against flesh and blood; let us put on the whole armor of God today.

The Lord Is My Light and My SalvationPsalms 27:1-14Oh, how we need the light of the Lord in this dark and dreary world. They offer no comfort; they offer no real joy. Everything is temporal. The world will offer sensuality, but hallelujah, Jehovah God through his Son Jesus Christ offers true salvation, true light, true comfort, true joy, true peace. Call upon the name of Jesus today. Trust him with all your heart; trust him in every situation. Meditate upon this psalm; your heart will be overwhelmed. Give thanks unto our God, our great King. Amen.

The voice of ThanksgivingPsalms 26:1-12How can we find the voice of Thanksgiving? Let's start by thinking about the loving kindness of Jehovah God. He gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to us. The Law of the Lord Is PerfectPsalms 19:1-14When David looked up to the heavens, he could hear God speaking to him through creation. When David looked into the law of God, God was speaking to him through his word. It's a wonderful joy when you hear the voice of God. That's exactly why Jesus Christ came to deliver us from sin. The Lord Is My Rock and My FortressPsalms 18:1-6I will love thee is the first words of this psalm. David's love was more than a feeling. It was more than just a fact. He loved God fervently because he knew him personally. Many know about God, but don't know him personally. That's why so many people remained in their hopelessness, their sorrow, and pain because they don't cry out to God like David did. You and I have an opportunity to trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Cry out to him today and be changed forever. Amen.

The Fool Says, There Is No GodPsalms 14:1-7The fruit of the fool is worthless. The words of a fool are corruptible. The deeds of a fool are destructive. The thoughts of a fool are foolish because he has said there is no God. If you have no God, you have no hope. You have no salvation. You have no grace, and you have no goodness. Trust in the Lord Jesus today. Trust in his grace. Trust in his goodness. And exalt his greatness. Amen.

How Long, O Lord?Psalms 13:1-6The reality of sorrow: David had sorrow because others were persecuting him, but David did not wait for his sorrow to pass to trust in God's mercy, to rejoice in salvation, and to sing unto the Lord. How Majestic Is Your NamePsalms 8:1-9David starts the Psalm by saying how excellent is thy name in all the earth. He also ends the song by saying how excellent is thy name and all the earth. King David knew the power of doing things in the name of Jehovah. Goliath was killed. Peter and John were walking in the temple and saw a crippled man. Lead Me in Your RighteousnessPsalms 5:1-12Let us get back to the basic things of the Christian life: praying to the Lord, trying to live righteously before his eyes, going into his sanctuary with a pure heart, a heart full of praise and Thanksgiving. Amen.

Please Answer Me When I CallPsalms 4:1-8Oh Praise the LORD of Glory that sets in the heavens to hear our prayers and to help in the time of need. We will find God‘s mercy, his goodness, his grace, his compassion when we cry with a true heart. Tell the world of all your troubles. What will they do? They'll lead you to a psychiatrist. The dynamics of conflictProverbs 30:32-33Should we be surprised when we get strife? You're not surprised when you churn the milk and you get butter; you're not surprised when you wring the nose and get blood. Why should you be surprised when you're forcing your wrath, you get strife? Anytime you force something, you're going to damage it, and a lot of times when we force something, we do it out of pure ignorance. Stop and think today what you're saying to others. Tone down the temperature; talk slower; you will be heard louder.

Jonah's Anger and the Lord's CompassionJonah 4:1-11Jonah acted in the most peculiar way instead of rejoicing over sinners repenting. He got angry. God blessed his enemy, and he got angry. It was not Jonah's great preaching ability. It was through the power of God‘s holy word that the people repented. Anger and resentment can lead to depression and suicidal thoughts, thinking little of yourself. Jonah was being selfish and sinful, not giving God the glory.

The People of Nineveh RepentJonah 3:6-10Oh, what a mighty and gracious God we serve! He forgives sinners when they confess and forsake their sin. The King of Nineveh repented of the evil, and God Almighty turned away from his wrath.

A Great Fish Swallows JonahJonah 1:17I have no problem with this story because I have faith in my God, the creator of the universe. Some would like to look at this story with scientific facts. I look at this story by faith and my God, knowing there's nothing too hard for God. Yes, Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights. Jesus Christ. The son of God, declared this, and I believe the words of Jesus. What has God prepared for us?

Jonah Is Thrown into the SeaJonah 1:7-16Why hast thou done this? This question came not from godly men but ungodly men. You know that we are in sad shape when the world says to the Church, “Why hast thou done this?” The next question they ask is, “ What shall we do unto thee?” These questions will be repeated over and over again to godly people that flee from the presence of God. A New Testament example is the prodigal son.

Jonah Flees the Presence of the LordJonah 1:1-6Let us learn a few lessons from Jonah today. Don't flee the presence of God. It's a great honor to be asked by the king of glory to represent him. God could have used anyone, but he chose Jonah when God chooses you to do a task. For him, don't pass it on to someone else.
