Remember to like, share and support your favorite DJ! *Sorry for the late upload :-) History: Soca music is a genre of music that originated in Trinidad and Tobago and St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the early 1970s and developed into a range of styles during the 1980s and after. Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s. Initially, dancehall was a more sparse version of reggae than the roots style, which had dominated much of the 1970s. Rhythm and blues, abbreviated as R&B, is a genre of popular music that originated in African American communities in the 1940s. Hip hop music, also called rap music, is a genre of popular music developed in the United States by inner-city African Americans and Latino Americans in the Bronx borough of New York City in the 1970s. Reggaeton, also known as reggaetón and reguetón, is a music style which originated in Puerto Rico during the late 1990s. It has evolved from dancehall and influenced by American hip hop, Latin American, and Caribbean music. Vocals include rapping and singing, typically in Spanish. Afrobeat is a music genre which involves the combination of elements of West African musical styles such as fuji music and highlife with American funk and jazz influences, with a focus on chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussion.
Amapiano is a sophisticated hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide basslines. It is distinguished by high pitched piano melodies, Kwaito basslines, low tempo 90s South African house rhythms and percussions from another local subgenre of house known as Bacardi. Afro House is a sub-genre of House music, with its roots predominantly in South Africa. A fusion of Kwaito, Tribal, Deep and Soulful House music, in South Africa it is classed as Deep House or Soulful House, although it has its own unique sound. ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL SOUNDS OF AFRICA!

Afroswing, also known as Afrobashment, or less commonly Afrobbean or Afro-trap (not to be confused with the French genre), is a genre of music that developed in the UK during the mid-2010s, derivative of dancehall and afrobeats, with influences from trap, hip hop, R&B, and grime. Afrobeat is a genre that developed in the 1960s and 1970s, taking influences from Fuji music and Highlife, mixed in with American Jazz and Funk. Characteristics of afrobeat include big bands, long instrumental solos, and complex jazzy rhythms. The name was coined by Nigerian afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s. Initially, dancehall was a more sparse version of reggae than the roots style, which had dominated much of the 1970s.
Being an open format DJ has allowed me to explore different genres of music from all around the world.
