A podcast exploring the relationship between philosophy and art, featuring guests of various art forms.
This our last episode of the 2017! This year has seen some twists and turns to say the least. When this year started, I had ambitions of pushing this podcast as far as I could, and turning it into a regularly occurring thing, hopefully building a following along with that. I was hoping I could find ways to monetize it and make a little money for all of the effort I was putting into editing it, as well as booking guests and preparing interview questions. While all that stuff can be enjoyable, it does take a lot of time. As we can see now, that stuff didn't really come to fruition. Other life circumstances got in the way, and I also decided to start pursuing an audio business. Priorities changed, and this podcast became the odd man out. We are still going to keep doing it, but we will change how we do things from here on out. We will release one episode per month, as this will now just be a low pressure, strictly for fun show only. We will occasionally have a guest, if it's not too much hassle to do so. Lastly, we will shut down our website and simply maintain a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/eldpodcast). We want to thank you for listening this year. It has been fun! We will once again return in January.

Danny and Nick return after about almost 2 months without an episode. They discuss the future of the podcast, upcoming projects in their life, and what endeavors they are working toward for the new year, 2018. The usual banter is there too. Thanks for listening!

We are glad to have had our friend Shawn Kuiper join our show for an in-person interview. We don't get to do too many of these in-person, so we really appreciate the ones that are. Shawn is an entrepreneur with a vegetation management business. We discuss some wide ranging topics from entrepreneurship, to societal changes in how we buy stuff, and even get into the weeds a little bit (pardon the pun) about how his business operates. We basically let Shawn have the floor to discuss whatever was on his mind. Those can be some of the best kinds of interviews. Enjoy!

We return from another break! Danny talks about how this podcast is less of a priority, and Nick discusses how he is starting a podcast for his whip business. More philosophical stuff happens too. Enjoy!

After an extended break (due to the craziest work schedule ever), we are back! Since we last left off, some changes have happened for both Danny and Nick. The podcast is likely going to happen less often due to a shift in priorities. We will still keep this going as often as we are able, but we will probably find it difficult to keep it consistent. That being said, we will still make an effort to bring on guests who will contribute to the ideas contained in our theme. This episode is really just our candid thoughts, with virtually no editing. I thought I would let this go out like this to let it be authentic. Some topics covered included our jobs, what we like and don't like about them, how to transition into a career you are satisfied with, etc. Also, just random stuff. This is about as unfiltered as we have been so far. Enjoy.www.everylastdroppodcast.com
On this episode, Luke joins us again. We talk about various topics that are relevant to young guys who are just starting to make their mark on the world, such as:- Are we unsatisfied with our job, and what kind of career do we want to have ideally?- What kinds of things should you be doing while you're in your 20s?- What kinds of obstacles do we face in our creativity, and also our lives as a whole? And more! There's no guest interview this time, just a real conversation about balancing ideals with our current reality. Enjoy, and share the show!
We are excited to welcome Devin Shelton to the show! Devin is one of the founding members of the post hardcore/screamo band (assuming you can put them into a genre)Emery. Devin gives us some interesting insight into the backstory surrounding Emery, revealing some details most people haven't heard before.Devin also recently put out a new solo record on Bad Christian Music, a division of the Bad Christian Network. Devin's record is called "Sensation," an appropriate name given the sensational smoothness of his voice, and the instrumental textures. Listen in as we dive into Devin's history, and cover the making of his new record!Visit www.devinsheltonmusic.com to learn more about it.Visit www.everylastdroppodcast.com to learn more about our show.
We are excited to welcome back Steven Burkholder from the War on Peace! Steven is our first repeat guest, and he did not disappoint. We were also able to track Steven as he played 3 songs from the War on Peace catalog, including 2 of them from their new EP "Automated People." They are sprinkled in during different parts of conversation, so be sure to listen for them. The conversation itself is wide ranging, starting from Steven's music beginnings, all the way into the present. We also discuss the ideas that drove Steven to write the songs from the new EP, the process he went through to write them, and what the War on Peace is looking to do as they move into the future. Thanks for listening!www.thewaronpeace.comVisit www.everylastdroppodcast.com for more info.
For this week's episode, we are glad to have Luke be able to sit down with us again! We were lucky enough to catch him on his spring break, so we decided to just do an episode with us 3. We wanted to delve into some pretty age old questions (at least among creative and artistic types). What are the things that fuel your ability to be creative? What are the things that hinder your creativity? What are some ways to maximize one, and minimize the other? How can we overcome obstacles? All of these questions, and more are explored.Plus, having Luke means we do an epic segment of poetry, followed by Nick and Danny attempting to deconstruct it and explain it away. All of this you won't want to miss. Thank you for listening! Share the show, we would greatly appreciate a review on iTunes.Visit everylastdroppodcast.com for more info.
We are excited to welcome Jonathan Swihart to the show! Jonathan is as unique and eccentric a character you will find anywhere. He also happens to be immensely talented and diverse. Part of his many talents include acting, graphic design, and music. These are the 3 subject areas we spent time discussing on this interview, which also happens to be our longest one thus far. One of the highlights is Jonathan's recent project composing a soundtrack for a short film.Visit www.everylastdroppodcast.com for more info.Links to Jonathan's work:Acting Reel: vimeo.com/73270374Design Portfolio: www.flickr.com/photos/jonndevon/Music: jonndevon.bandcamp.com/
We start things off by talking about some changes to the Every Last Drop Club, and inviting the listeners to give us their feedback. This time around, Danny and Nick sat down for an extended conversation surrounding one simple question: what is a professional, and do you have to be making a living at something to be one? Get in touch with us to let us know what you think.Visit www.everylastdroppodcast.com
We are excited to re-release this interview we did with Steven Burkholder from the War on Peace! We first conducted this interview with him in early 2016, when this podcast was in its first form and not yet reinvented. We thought the content of this episode was so good that it was still worth keeping, as well as still being relevant. We sat down with Steven to discuss how his band the War on Peace works, and go behind the scenes of some of their signature songs. One of them is going to be featured in a major motion picture, so that's really cool! Be sure to go to check out their music, and even make it to a show if you're around the area.Links:www.thewaronpeace.comwww.everylastdroppodast.com
For this episode episode we are pleased to welcome Joe Gonzalez, a talented graphic designer and photographer. We are excited to welcome Luke back (even if only for this episode)! This episode was the first time we sat down to record in this new year, 2017. Nick and Luke started off the new year by traveling to California for the Los Angeles Whip Convention, hosted by world famous whip cracker Adam Winrich. Nick and Luke were in LA from January 13-16. We kick things off by discussing the concept of New Year's Resolutions, and if we have any ourselves. We then delve into the specifics of the activities that took place at the convention, and also discuss why anyone would even care about it. Lastly, we wrap things up with an evocative poem from Luke, which spontaneously produces a discussion on the philosophical meaning of what truth is, and the differing levels of it. If you're listening on Soundcloud, don't forget to subscribe on iTunes and Stitcher! Thanks for listening.www.everylastdroppodcast.com
We are very excited to welcome one of my personal favorite songwriters! Christoffer Franzen is a songwriter and composer from Gothenburg, Sweden. He composes music under two different names: Lights & Motion, and his own name. Lights & Motion is a project in the genre of post rock/ambient rock. His eponymously named project is in the genre of soundtrack compositions, much like you would hear in a movie trailer or a TV show. Listen in as we discuss how he got started in music, how he got inspired to do his current projects, and how approaches his craft. You're going to love this one! Make sure you're subscribed on iTunes so you don't miss out on more great episodes in the future.www.everylastdroppodcast.com
This week we are pleased to welcome our good friend Jeremy Schering! He is the producer and chief mixing engineer for his band, The War on Peace.
